hi girls -

Had class tonight (it was our last one) and wouldn't you know it, some brought cookies, cupcakes, etc. I saw it the minute I walked in and was very surprised. I had to really plan my reaction b/c no one was eating yet. When we took a break, I just went to the restroom and then continued sipping on my diet coke.

I felt like I was really out of everything to snack on at home. I went to WalMart and got restocked on my way home. I'm finishing my day with water and I'm proud of my day!! That is a good feeling!

Who is it that makes fried cheese? I know that I've read that - I'm sorry, I forget who it is Would you mind sharing your recipe for that???

B:Scrambled eggs and 1 piece sausage
S: 2 string cheeses
L: Leftover salmon steak
D: Roast and green beans
S: sf jello and some 0 carb heavy cream

Lots of water today!!

Okay, I'm realizing my goal of 26 lbs for May is very steep!! But I'm ready to work!!

Goodnight

(and hello to those of you I haven't visited w/ yet!!)

Good evening. Almost May 1 so I am going to go ahead and post my weigh in-- Sitting at 230 lbs.... 29 lbs gone during the month of April 2008. Never in my life, have I ever done that! Wahoo!

Cara, count me in for a challenge. Starting May out at a nice round number. Gonna shoot for 215 (15 lb loss). I think that is different from what I recently posted in my mini goals, but that's okay. Hoping I have another month like April, but gonna be a little more conservative with my goal.

Right now, I am almost falling asleep at the computer, so gonna say good night and best wishes to everyone!!

MAY 1ST

Yipeeeee, I am in the 240's, 248 this morning, therefore my goal for June 1st and Cara's challenge is to be at 238. I actually thought I would be around 246, been doing so well, but my TOM is less than a week away, so hopefully the first half of May is promising. I haven't been in the 240's for 3-4 years.

Cara,
The girls at work and I are fried cheese mamas....at least 3-4 times every week. Fried cheese satisfies my craving for salt or chips and my downfall popcorn. The recipe is hard....you fry cheese
I usually use shredded cheddar, but if I am out, I have sliced colby or cheddar or even the mexican mix cheese works, mozzerella and provalone do not fry well. I put a pile of cheese in the frying pany and over medium heat. After the edges start to crisp (around 4 minutes), I flip it over for a couple more minutes. I like mine kind of crispy. Put the patty between to paper towels and you would not believe how much grease cheese has. Enjoy.

Of course we all have to be careful with cheese intake (potty issues), but if all is moving along, I make some.

Today's menu:

Breakfast: 4 sausage links, 1 scrambled egg
Snack: broccoli/cauliflower
Lunch: Grilled chicken breast salad, McD's, with extra cheese I brought
Snack: broccoli/cauliflower
Dinner: Cracked pepper turkey breast, some veggie
Snack if needed: fried cheese
Water up the ying-yang. On my 3rd bottle and it is only 8:30.

Happy May Day Everyone!
Cindy

Good Morning Ladies!

My weight is still holding steady. My goal for May is to get down to 235 (about 15 pounds).

Have a great day and a great month everyone!

WOE: Atkins OWL(7/1/08)
Start Date: Low Carbing (3/13/08)
Cara, I went to a Mom's meeting a couple of weeks ago... I had thought I would take a low carb snack, but ran out of time... so I didn't take anything.

I was amazed when I got there. There was a lot of cookie/brownie/sweetie type snacks. And NO diet sodas. All sugar sodas. No veggie tray, not even any FRUIT!! There was one lone little can of peanuts. I just got a handful of those and my water bottle which is my ever faithful friend and stayed AWAY from the snack table. LOL

I will be sure to carry my own snack to share next time, although I don't have a clue as to what I would take!??

So, I guess my weight from yesterday will be my official beginning for May, since my daughter would NOT let me weigh today. (283.4) I get a little obsessive/compulsive about weighing... I would love to be down to 250 by end of June, and that is 33.4 lbs. I was thinking that may be ambitious, but I think maybe it isn't. I'm going to shoot for 15 more down. For April, I am down, but I didn't join in till mid-April. I am not nearly losing as fast as Fancy. I'm going to be tailing you!! I am liking your numbers!!

Jennifer, that sf dark chocolate syrup is Monin... and can be ordered online. I may just end up getting some, just for those special times when nothing but chocolate will suffice!!

Since tomorrow is Friday, I will be 'allowed' to weigh again. Looking for some low numbers!! I will be so happy to be out of the 280's!
My next doc appointment is May 8. I was 288.5 on 4/10. I haven't lost as much this month as I did last month, but I am still losing. THAT keeps me moving!! And, I don't know if this has ANYTHING to do with the slow down, but my cycle is O-F-F!! I went 47 days before I finally started on Friday, a week ago, and I am almost finished now.

Ok, I'm out of here. I got a good 2 mile walk/run in today and plan on working in the garden before I go out with my BFF tonight. Girls night out! Look out!

Can I tell you all that you are AWESOME!!

magic - 122 - no wait, let me spell that out - O-N-E H-U-N-D-R-E-D T-W-E-N-T-Y T-W-O POUNDS GONE, GONE GONE!!! That is truly, truly amazing and inspiring!! You are getting out of the 3's this week - WHEW WHEW!!

And FF, I have to tell you that you're the inspiration of my lofty goal of a 26 lb weight loss for May!!

Jen - I like your new picture - that's very cute. Thanks for the ideas for snacks - it's all about thinking about what we CAN have as opposed to what we CAN'T!

Sunshine - thanks for the recipe - I'll try it!

Joy - way to stay true!! I have to admit that while all of my class was partaking in junk, I was proud of myself, and thinking, "See, I am a little ahead of someone." Not that I mean that ugly - I just always get mad at myself that I didn't start a year ago, or a month ago, and I think of how much time I have wasted, but that is a big motivator for me to not cheat - I consciously remind myself that if I cheat, that is some more wasted time!

Keep it up, Slimdiva, Roxanne, Peach, Groovy, Amy, MandEmommie!!! You all are awesome!

B: 2 eggs 2 pieces sausage
L: Chef salad
S: sf jello
D: chicken breast, brocolli w/ cheese, salad

Okay Sunshine - I love ya! Just tried the fried cheese - it's great!

You guys should try it for a snack - I used the shredded cheese - I let it brown just a bit so that it tastes almost like it's battered! My son likes it, too!!

Thanks, Sunshine!

Cara,

I am so happy you enjoyed your snack. Kind of feels like we are cheating when actually, we are getting rid of those oils. A girl at work said that fried cheese has saved her atkins life. She eats it every night. I agree, it taste like it is battered. I actually enjoy it more than cheese curds.

Ok, you guys have really upped your anti.....I am going to lose 15 lbs this month instead of 10. On March 12th, we have a consultation with a Fitness and Wellness Center and I am goaling 3 lbs week the first two weeks, and goaling 5 lbs a week for the second two.

I love this board. You all are keeping me in line and cheat free.
Have a nice night.

Wow Ladies ~

You are all doing so well. It looks like you are setting some major goals here for the month. Well...I wanted to let myself go easy but I will boost it up and try for a min. of 20 lbs. I'm sure I can its just with birthdays and Mother's day just around the corner there is that evil voice saying, You can slack on those days but its either pig out or feel like one afterward. I swear I made the mistake of looking at myself in the mirror today and it keep me on plan all day. Maybe I should check myself out everyday but I'd be to scared, lol. Might cause myself some real mental damage.lol.

Tonight will be a chicken salad.

Check back soon.

Hi Heather - you can do it!!!

Welcome Groovy - I do that, too - avoid mirrors - it's like, "If I don't see it, maybe that weight isn't really there!" But we have to be strong and be friends with the mirror and love ourselves, right???

What a great team we all make. May is going to be a super month. I can feel it. Magickal, I bet you're under 300 in no time. What a wonderful feeling and accomplishment that will be.

TOM is approaching for me and today, I seemed to want to eat/graze.... kept it low carb, but it has been difficult. Trying to get some extra water in to combat the extra pork skins I ate. Also had a few too many blueberries. Portion control, portion control...... got to work on it.

Think I will go ahead and start a May thread. See you over there.
