Hi Everyone! We're getting ready to head out in a few hours for a 4 day vacation at the beach. Will miss this group and reading all the boards, but will probably be checking in next Tuesday. I have snacks and menus planned. We're staying oceanfront and have a complimentary continental breakfast (which usually means pastries, bagels, doughnuts) -- Have located several restaurants nearby that serve the bacon/eggs breakfasts.... just in case.

Also, we have quite a bit of walking planned and places to go visit (museums, aquariums, ferry rides, and of course, the sand). Usually walking in the loose sand is a killer workout for me. I am just so looking forward to seeing the ocean again. My three year old wants to take his shovel, some shorts, and sunglasses.... He is ready!

Have a great low carb weekend and I will be back on Tuesday!!

Hi everyone!

I've been busy the past few days with work, argh!

I went to the gym on Tuesday and Thursday 45 mintues each day. I finally decided to try the one minute muffins.. I like! I have been playing with the recipe a little to get some different combinations. I also picked up some whey protein powder (Syntrax Nectar) from the vitamin shop, I was surprised at how good it was!!!

211 this morning. eh.

I hope you all have a great day/weekend!

Scale hasn't moved much this week for me, hoping it's just because of TOM. I'm always so scared of a dreaded stall. I'm scared I'll stall for a long time and get frustrated and give up and I CAN'T let that happen. Or I'm scared I'll never see onederland.

Had a good weekend here - staying on plan and kickin butt! LOL

Yesterday's menu:
B: none - slept in late!!!!
L: fish, green beans, sausage links
D: hummus, kibbe, falafel (ate lebanese w/ my sister and her guest)

Today's menu:
B: none - slept in late!!!!
L: salad
D: eggs and ham

this afternoon we went to the gym, and I logged another 1.32 miles, and then did 26 laps in the pool. I still haven't figured out how much that equates to, so for now I'm just counting and keeping track of how many laps I walk/swim/jog. my upper body is S.O.R.E. !!!!

after the gym we headed to H.E.B. and got lots of good LC lunch and snack supplies for the week. I'm hoping to post my first loss in 3 weeks...if I do it - I will be ecstatic!!!!

have a wonderful, on-plan day!!! and
I used to swim in High School and I swim now about 4 times a week for my exercise. How far 26 laps is depends on whether your pool is 25 yards or 25 meters. They're almost the same, but over the course of swimming enough for an actual work out (like 45), it eventually makes a difference.

20 laps in a 25 meter pool is a 500. That was my even in High School. Over the course of 45 min, I swim about a 100 laps give or take. I ALWAYS lose count. I lose count about 3 times every 20 laps. When I first started (again) it was closer to 80. Now it's closer to 120.

Again depending on whether you have a pool measured in meters or yards the mile mark is some where between 62 & 72 laps.

Fancy~ I hope that you have an AMAZING trip! Good for you for planning ahead so that you can stay on plan!

Stacie~ Stick with this! I stalled for about 4 weeks recently, and then whooshes down 6 pounds in what seemed like overnight! Keep going... you'll find great results!

Today's Menu:
B- pepperoni slices (speak of the devil), flavored tuna fish (3)
S- coffee w/cream and sf flavoring (4)
L- ham, dill pickles (6)
D- fajita salad (6)
TOTAL = 19 carbs / 3 liters of water
(walking to park later)

Oh... and I walked 3.5 miles at the gym yesterday! Woo-hoo! I also had dinner with my DH at my Grandma's and PASSED on the yummy-looking raspberry pie (one of my favs), but did enjoy some sliced strawberries with splenda and some cream!

Hi Everyone

Well today was a busy one for me.....i hardly had time to eat...and I have this thing about not letting myself get hungry because I don't want my body to go into starvation mode and stall me....so I grazed on almonds until I could eat something tangible

I tend to post my menus from the day before because MANY a time I would plan my meals and then eat entirely different things.............so yesterday goes as follows:

B - nut crackers with tuna paste
S - LC chocolate milk
L - LC lasagna
D - stew beef (leftovers)
S - frozen LC chocolate milk

fancyface
- I am so jealous.....can i hide in your suitcase...not that i would fit.............we have a family reunion in Grenada come Oct08...I can hardly wait..have a wonderful time...lucky girl

Bav.....are those the muffins with the flax seed...I want to try them too

Stacie..........here's some advice....during TOM....lock the EVIL scale away for a week!!!...because YES the up & down on the scales can really be depressing ...I KNOW

Doing this Again....all that talking about laps has me tired already....i admire anyone who can do more than two laps across a pool

behind_the_mask.....WTG on the 3.5 mile walk.....I am still trying to get past 5 min on the elliptical without feeling like i am going to pass out

Hi ev1! Happy Friday!

I took the day off to have dental surgery this morning, and since I talked DH into taking the day off as well, we were able to get lots of those little annoying errands done that you can only do during "normal business hours". So, I feel like like I have had an incredibly productive day. Additionally, we starting setting up steel shelves in his new storage unit so I got quite the workout!!! LOL

today's menu:
B: chorizo & eggs
L/D: dry BBQ (chicken, sausage, brisket), salad
S: pumpkin seeds, cheese

DH & I met my sister for a late lunch, and I ate SO MUCH BBQ!! It was really good, nice smoky flavor, and I knew I wouldn't be getting more any time soon. So - tonight I'll probably just have some cheese & nuts.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Today's Menu:
B: no time, no breakfast
L: I did a "Lunch Bunch" with some of my students today, graciously refusing the cookies I was offered out of their lunchboxes. I ate 2 hardboiled eggs, a few slices of pesto parmesan ham and a few slices of muenster cheese.
D: Steak with an Emeril pepper spice rub and green beans (sear green beans in olive oil with a bit of garlic, add chicken bouillion to just cover the beans, boil until desired crunchiness...I like mine pretty crunchy). I made mashed potatoes for the kids, and didn't have even a TASTE! yay me!
S: SF jello with whipped cream...mmmmm!
W: 6 glasses, may do 8 before the end of the night, but I'm getting tired.

So ladies, I have to brag about what a prince my husband is!

Today is our 8 month anniversary, but I don't really think it's THAT big of a deal because it's not like it's our one year anniversary or something truly significant. Anyway, I didn't even really think my hubby would notice. Well, out of nowhere, he walks in the door after work with... A DOZEN LONG STEM RED ROSES!!! He is such a sweetheart! I am so blessed!

Hi Ladies!

FIL is in town, so that means lots of eating out. I wasn't so great at dinner last night

b - 3 scrambled eggs, coffee
l - none
d - steak, salad, 3 onion rings, 1/2 piece of the best cheesecake I've ever had , glass of wine, coffee
54.8 oz water (very low - I was out running errands all day & I hate public washrooms), 1 diet coke

I got on the treadmill for 30 minutes when we got home last night. I was so full I needed to move!

bav - I like to chop up a square of 85% chocolate & mix it into the one minute muffin batter. Delicious!

Stacie - Don't get discouraged. After TOM the scale will start moving again.

MissMinda - The greenbeans sound yummy! WTG passing on the cookies & mashed potatoes!

Heather - That was so sweet of your hubby! Happy Anniversary!

Jennifer, they are really good. My mom gave me the recipe when she was doing Atkins/South Beach. I liked them so much that I continued to make them, and now she calls them Minda's green beans, and makes me make them for all the family functions. hehe

Lisa- thanks for the advice but I'm a slave to the scale! I know I should only weigh once a week or so but I have to weigh every morning!

Jennifer- I sure hope so! I'm tired of seeing the same number on the scale and wondering if I will ever see onederland!

OMG! cheesecake sounds so good right now. I'm sick with allergies (I hope that's what it is) and my throat is on fire from the dripping and the coughing! And our pantry is empty, so even if I wanted to make one, I don't have the supplies. *sigh* LOL

I am too!! I weigh every morning, but I only officially count the Wednesday morning weigh in. But by weighing every day if I add something new to my menu, I can see what kind of impact it has over the next couple of days.

yesterday's menu:
B: turkey & cheese sandwich on SF bread
L: roasted 1/2 chicken
D: 3 eggs, 3 bacon

we were working on a project here in the house, and then stopped to go get my hair done and DH's hair cut. at various times while we were working, one of us would mention how thirsty we were. well, over the course of 2.5 hours yesterday, (while waiting for hair dresser and getting hair done) we each drank a LARGE diet dr pepper, AND a route 44 diet dr pepper!!! I guess we were really thirsty!!!

TTFN!

Hi!

yesterday:
b - leftover steak, coffee
l - none
d - 6 jumbo shrimp, couple bites of pasta, 3 spoons mac & cheese, glass of wine, 2 bites key lime pie, coffee
85.9 oz water, .5 can diet Coke, .5 can diet Dr. Pepper
30 minutes on treadmill

Elizabeth - I hope you feel better & I hope it's just allergies too. It's been so windy, everything's just blowing around and driving everybody's sinuses and allergies crazy

Stacie - Weighing everyday has its ups & downs (literally!) Like Elizabeth said, you see how/if new foods affect you & you'll find that your body has a losing pattern. Keep track on a calendar or spreadsheet & you'll see. Of course the down side is all the fluctuations, but that's just life and it's not necessarily because of anything you've done or haven't done.
I keep meaning to ask you, are you on the left or the right in your avi? Either way you're very pretty

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
