Sorry-kind of long
![]() Ok, I know I am only on day 6 of induction but I havent lost since the first 4 pounds, and today I didnt even register on ketostix! ![]() Now I also know that some times you don't always register on those blasted sticks. Still doesn't make me feel any better this morning. I have been trying so hard to stay clean, so I started to really check myself and see what I could be doing wrong. I have been eating those blasted mild banana chips. I had 20 last night, 2 carbs. I know induction foods, doesn't say pickles, which essentially is what they are. Could that be my problem? Also, I ate 1/2 lemon yesterday too. Lemons are 4 carbs for a whole one. I know, I know, it isnt listed on induction foods. I have a real addiction to sour things. Do you think those things, the peppers and lemon could have knocked me out of ketosis? Even though they are both real low in carbs and I stay around 15 carbs per day? I eat my 2 cups salad and one cup of veggies per day. And I measure them. I havent added onions to any of my cooking, so I am not not consuming carbs I havent thought about. I have been eating pan fried pork chops, bacon and sausage, hamburger patties with one teaspoon lc ketchup, (just realized, I havent had any poultry ) eating around 2-3 eggs per day and no cheese to speak of. I did eat some yesterday with my eggs, those creamy wonderful spicy eggs. I will admit, only exercise I got yesterday was cleaning house and walking around walmart, and going up and down my stairs doing laundry.Any suggestions or could I just be in one those times, that stay the same and then see some pounds come off? Maybe I am just obsessing but thought I would share and see what you all thought. Oh yeah, I am drinking around 80 oz of water a day, plus my one cup of coffee and one diet coke. I guess I could give up my diet coke and get some diet rite cola and get rid of that aspartame. Hmmmm, I will grab some today when I go to Kroger. I also read in a thread on here, that you should drink half your body weight in ounces of water daily. That would be like 108 ounces a day. Should I try that? I definately am going to stay away from lemons today and might lose the banana peppers too, but oh my that hurts my feelings! ![]() Thanks for reading and any replies would be greatly appreciated. |

ok, after reading more and more, I think I answered my own question. The lemon was my downfall. It is after all a fruit.
I can be so stupid sometimes. Anyway, I am also going to knock off the diet coke and sf jello and see if that gets me going again. Also, I tested myself one more time after drinking my coffee and 16 ounces of water, and I tested moderate levels. So not sure why it was negative over an hour ago. ![]() |

Sweetie, When I did my first week of induction I lost for 3 days then gained for two. Lost for two days and then held that weight for four days before I saw another loss. Then today I'm up again. It's just the way my body works. It's not slow and steady downward, it's one step forward, two steps back. Then three steps forward, two steps back. Then two steps forward and one step back. Just be patient, Dissie. Patience is the key to success and a less stressful life. ![]() |

I know I did it to myself but am getting back on track and getting even more serious. Just put some chicken in the crockpot with broth and some onions and peppers. Today I am going walking and maybe even dig out my sweating to the oldies tapes. Hope I can find them! If they even work anymore, might have too much dust on them! ![]() Keep up the good work everyone. ![]() |

Dissie,
I would cut out the sf jello for a week or so also. I can remember the first time with Atkins, I never ate sf treats for a month or so. You seem to be on the right path. I don't see that the lemons would have really hurt that much, but I would cut them out...and the banana peppers. It just sounds like you are retaining a bit more water which will pass. You just watch, you will have a loss in no time. I know that when I really stick to this diet, I might weigh and gain a pound or two. I can't figure out what I did wrong, so I wait 3-4 days, weigh again, and that pound or two is history, along with another 2-3 lbs. Our female bodies are so off whack, but you will lose. Cindy |

yeah, I just got back from Kroger and got decaf coffee and diet rite cola. done with the jello too. I am seeing if caffeine and aspartame is what is causing this. Thanks for your input. Ya know, it could be the salt too. Forgot about that. I did dip the lemons in salt. ![]() Well I will keep plugging along. How is everyone else doing? |

The pickle is fine, it just might be salty and if so cause you to retain a little water. But if you're drinking all your water, that shouldn't be a problem. |

I don't think the lemon hurt at all. Pickles seem to be ok, too if you don't over do it. I think my problem was a few things all together. Salt, caffeine, aspartame, overeating, no exercise! Quote:

Elisa, Sassy & RoxanneWell, so far the weekend has been okay food wise (Weekends are the toughest for me) Although my DH was going out to get a sub for lunch and just couldn't believe that I wanted to have a salad at home!! We have a place here that makes the worlds best (in my opinion) Steak & Cheese subs....but I did resist!! Since the weather is improving here (45 degrees today I haven't gotten weighed yet so I don't know if I have lost anything - but I certainly do feel better!! Quote:
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Take Care Beth |

to all everyone joining us!I have noticed that I am not as hungry in the morning anymore. I know we are suppose to eat breakfast, but should we make ourselves eat if we are not hungry? Thats old behaviour for me. I use to eat just cause it tasted good...no matter how full I was. |

219 is today's lucky #, that's what I got this morning, too. 2 more pounds and I can claim 60 total.
I've been super busy for a couple of days, and I'm way behind on here so I'll try to get back into everything tomorrow. For now, welcome new-comers and congrats to all who are losing. Joyce |

Today went really good. Although I never really had an appetite. Are you supposed to eat even if your not hungry. Also what about drinking v 8. I have to get up at five am to go to work and am not ready for breakfast so sometimes I have a small v8.

no, thats not the one. Posted by Leesa SOOO much better than scrambled! Ingredients: 3 T. water 2 T. heavy cream 3 dashes Tabasco, or to taste 3 large eggs 1 slice of Am. cheese, or other, grated salt, pepper to taste How To Prepare: In 6-inch non-stick saute pan over medium heat, heat first three ingredients just to a simmer. Carefully break the three eggs to form a triangle in the pan. You can salt and pepper it at this point. After some of the liquid has evaporated, cover loosely with a lid for 3-4 minutes, until whites are set (longer if you want hard yolks too.) Remove lid, sprinkle cheese over white parts, and cover again for about 30 seconds, until cheese is melted. SOOOO yummy, soft and creamy. Great sprinkled with bacon crumbles too. Number of Servings: 1 Carbs per serving: 2 Preparation Time: 5 minutes Effort: Easy You would not believe how good these are! I used american cheese. I can only eat 2 of the eggs, they are so filling. The third warms up great too, not rubbery at all if you can't eat them all. |
