ROFL Sandy, earwax!

I think I have been over doing the salt today though! I have been salting things I don't usually eat salt on! lol added salt and pepper on a salad today and I never do that! I know we can have cheese but this time, I haven't eaten any. Don't know why I haven't eaten cheese, just havent had a taste for it. Weird huh? Plus this time I have had caffeine during induction. Thats a first for me. So I guess I know caffeine at this time doesn't seem to a staller for me. I know that could change but I am happy with my one cup of coffee in morning and one diet coke after dinner.

Well, like I said earlier, its bedtime, this time I mean it! See you all in the morning!

I really wouldn't know what to do with myself if I suddenly got 100 pounds smaller in less than a year anyway, so maybe it isn't so bad getting there much slower. I know I'm going to be getting left in the dust as far as the pounds go, but it won't be quite as bad knowing that I'm not alone.

No matter how slow it goes, we can do this, right?
Yep, we can do this! And you're right, for a lot of us, getting to goal is just great, but then we don't know what to do with ourselves. Stressors start to happen, then there are the psychological adjustments to being thin that need to be made (which I never could do before) . . . losing weight fast just makes it that much more difficult to keep off. IMO So, 1/4 pound here and there sounds like music to my ears!

Yeah, I'll start MONDAY . . . I'll start the FIRST DAY of next month . . . I'll start the day after my birthday . . . I'll start the first of next year . . . I don't know if it's because we live in a world of procrastinators, or if it's because it's just easier to measure time and progress this way.

Might I suggest a Weight Watchers scale. I love mine because it gives me consistant readings AND it weighs in .2 pound increments.

Sure you can mention it.

Hi All!

I hope that everyone had a great day!!

I decided that I should take my measurements last night so that I don't rely solely on the dreaded scale alone!! Boy was that an eye opener! If that doesn't make me stay on the straight and narrow nothing will!!

I also like the idea of weighing in on the 15th of the month!!

Congrats Dissie and Paula - way to go on the weight loss!!

Have a great night!

I'm just experimenting the quote thing here and it feels like it is all wrong already. Are we giving our Dec 15th weight then for those of us who have already started, or Missy, are you starting with Jan 15th.

Since you guys started this thread back in November, why don't you start giving your weights from then? Or from whenever the thread was started.

Droppin, would you like to join our little group? Do you have a name to go by or do you just prefer Droppin? I ask because I'm trying to keep people straight as our group grows.

LOL you have a thing about names dont ya Dusk? Funny thing is...I dont even know yours....

Hope everyone is doing good. The 100lbs starts from whenever you started this WOE. I started Dec 9th....so that is what I go by.

But this is just a friendly challenge to get us motivated. No big rules or anything. Anything we lose this year is gonna be wonderful.

Good Morning all!

Thanks or the kind words about my loss!

Today seems to be my day of wanting sweets. I ate my regular breakfast of sausage links and hard boiled eggs. I can't seem to eat fried or scrambled eggs anymore. Maybe I should try an omelette. But anyway, getting off track from original train of thought. I am full, but OMG my sweet tooth is kicking in. I have type 2 diabetes because of my weight. So not eating sweets is the norm for me. I usually satisfy any craving with a piece of fruit or a piece of sf candy but I can't do that anymore. I have eaten 2 sf jello's, but it just doesn't seem to be cutting the mustard today. I drink coffee black, so adding all those syrups and splenda to coffee really isn't an option for me. What have any of you done in the past to help with this?

Hey again, Just thought I would let you all know what finally worked. SOUR! I ate 10 Mild Banana Pepper Rings. They are 2 carbs per 20 rings, Mt Olive brand. It hit the spot and stopped the craving! I only ate 10, so I can eat 10 more when or if it hits me later on today! See you all later!

Missy - I report my stats weekly on Wednesday (when possible), and put my month-end in my signature. Feel free to choose whichever one you want for your totals...

well, last night was odd....there was only one other person there (besides the birthday girl) at this birthday gathering, and I got this weird vibe that they didn't expect me to show up. I ended up staying for about an hour, then headed home.

DH called just as I was leaving, and he was just leaving work, so we decided to meet for dinner. So, I had a hamburger & 2 eggs...yum!

Afterwards we went to Walmart and I picked up some of the Sugar Cookie tea...I've got some here on my desk, haven't tried it yet. update: it's odd. don't know if it's the smell, or the very bland taste....but not sure it will be a favorite. I put 1 splenda in it, but not sure that would have fixed what ails it.

Today's plan:
B: EAS protein shake
L: turkey & cheddar on LC tortilla
S: FUZE Slenderize
D: turkey & cheddar on LC tortilla (I'll be on the road, so I made one 'to go')

hope ev1 has a great day!

On the 15th just give me your total loss since the day you started the challenge...we will just keep adding it to the total numbers and see how high we get month over month...

Tru DAT! the only rules are the ones you make for yourself. you don't even have to "report" monthly if you don't want to...i just thought it would be neat. keep weighing yourself according to your own preferences...you don't have to OFFICIALLY wait for the 15th or anything. if you weigh daily or weekly to stay on track keep on doin it. I'm not going to keep track of everyones little reports or anything...just the totals that get reported to me on the 15th.

On another note...despite all the well wishes my migraine peaked last night...was up until after 2 this morning--finally fell asleep sitting up on the couch...can't lay down when they are that bad. man was this a bad one...still lingering today but nowhere near as bad as last night. my carbs have been ULTRA low too since the 1st so that isn't helping (not my head anyway)

Well it's payday...time to go pay some bills

Ya Dusk...monkey / sesame street girl...we don't know your name!!!
Of course some may want to stick to screen names to protect privacy...which is A-OK!

Missy~I just saw on the news this a.m. how those energy efficient bulbs may trigger migraines.
Also, common foods which can cause difficulty (but sometimes what affects one person is fine for another) include:
  • peanuts and peanut butter
  • caffeine in all products, not just coffee
  • dairy products
  • yeast
  • some beans (which includes peanut), as well as broad, lima, Italian, lentil, soy, peas
  • avocados
  • dried meats
  • sauerkraut
  • pickled herrings
  • canned soups and packet soup mixes
  • chicken livers
  • ripe banana
  • soya products as well as the bean itself
  • sodium nitrate, which is used to preserve hot dogs, bacon and cured meats
  • the preservative benzoic acid and its associated compounds
  • MSG, common name for monosodium glutamate, a flavor enhancer which is now in almost universal use in almost all processed foods
  • nuts
  • sourdough breads
  • cheeses which have been aged, i.e. cheddar
  • red wines, beer, champagne, vermouth
  • chocolate
  • anchovies
And if the list seems depressingly long, there are other food triggers as well, but the good news is that most of the list comes from the highly processed and manufactured food products so aren't too difficult to identify, test, and eliminate from the diet.
Of course there are stress links as well as emotional inputs, hormonal influences, and some medications as well.

Thanks Paula...that is very sweet of you to copy all that down...I've read most of it before. The only thing that could really be doing it if it's food related would be caffeine/aspartame...and I just can't give my Diet Pepsi up yet.

they are mostly tied hand in hand with the onset of my period...and i really think it's hormonal/neurological. My neurologist agrees. Unfortunately the only medicine that ever worked...(and worked like a miracle) caused me to gain 30 pounds in 2 months at that time i had probably had 1 every single day for at least 4 years. Now I just get them a day before my period and they get worse daily for about 4-5 days. They are developing some new meds to deal w/ Menstrual related migraines...and i tried one a couple months ago...didn't work and was 55.00 for 4 little pills!

here's the roll call list from my spreadsheet. if you want your screen name replaced w/ your regular name, please pm me so i can change it... I have a cross reference in my sheet but it isn't posting here very nicely. if anyone knows how i can put a link in our posts to the actual spreadsheet then let me know and that will be nice for when we actually start filling it in...
