MAJOR LCF POSTER!
|
Hi Ladies: I managed to eat clean yesterday, but I suppose too many veggies because my carb count was 40.1. So I've got to work on that a little. The celery and LC SF Hot cocoa put me over. I'm down .2 from yesterday though, so I guess that's better than nothing. I read in the Protein Power book that you have trouble sleeping when in ketosis. I don't know what was going on, but I sure couldn't sleep last night. I felt just like I did when I first started this WOE and was dropping the lbs. Maybe that's a good sign. I know I cant be in ketosis yet. I'm dragging my butt this morning. Still, I've got to work on decreasing my carbs a bit more though. So I started with eggs and a sausage patty this morning.
Jamie: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! ON reaching onderland. Good for you!Kbetz: Jump back in. We're not going anywhere. Divine: Whoo Hoo, don't ya love those great comments? Fantastic. Good for you. So glad things went well at the doctor. My doctor is weird that way too. She never comments on how overweight I am. I haven't seen her since last January though, so I hope when I go in for a yearly she says something. My nurse practitioner at my gyno office always comments on my weight. Well, guess what? She hasn't seen me for two years, so perhaps I will schedule with her instead. ![]() I do have a physical scheduled for my research group in November. They will do all the usual blood tests. I can't wait to see if there has been any change from the last round of tests. Hi Lisa. Lets kick start some major whooshes today, okay? ![]() Penny: We're still here for ya. ![]()

Dream goodmorning..... I had egg and sausage patties too this morning... ok, I just finished eating them....Me and dh got out and went to a few yard sales.... I say a few, thats all there was... about 5 maybe...lol...
![]() I am up again this morning... some of it my fault, I let dh talk me into icecream last night and it wasn't even that good.... ![]() but i am back on plan this morning..... trying to get out of going to eat oysters this afternoon..... dh really wants to go..... a friend of his wants to take us out to eat.... its going to be hard to say no..... even if I go, its hard not to eat some... I have tried that..... wonder how bad it would be if I just skipped the french fries, which I don't eat anyway and skip the huspuppies, they are so good dipped in honey butter and just ate a helping of oysters and ate some flounder and peal most of the breading off...... darn just wish I could get out of it...Maybe if I ate 0 to none of carbs all day and save my carbs for tonight.... It would just be the flour its cooked in... Right? Please someone help me Penny- you have been in my thought and prayers, We love you and we are here for you..... : ![]() I will be back later ![]()

well today I ate clean until dinner, than i finished my DD's frozen burrito instead of cooking. I guess if I make it clean a little bit further into each day that by monday I should have my mind in the rite set, almost like a weening of the carbs. I weighed this morning and it was up even highter to 259. This is not good but I know what needs to be done. i know we have all had slips at one time or another. i am going to stock the house on sunday. Its been hard to get to the store for anything more than a few items with the kids now at home 24 hours a day. My walking has walked out the door aswell. i guess if I can do this than i can probabbly drop it in about 2 weeks of induction.

Kbetz - good thinking..... I know to many times that I just totally gave up and quit after getting off the diet.... but since January I got a different mind set...... First of all, this has to be a WOE.... So if you eat something off the required list, its ok..... just don't make a habit of it
![]() If something comes up and you can't plan around it, or you have to eat something thats not quite low carb... then immediently get right back on plan the next meal... try your best not to let it go a few days.... when you do, then you have to go thur that bad feeling you get when you first start low carbing.... Also know as Introductin Flu..... You have to realize you are human and you are not a robot that can program yourself to eat right all the time.... but, instead you are human and sometimes we just want something off plan....its ok..... Yes, I have gotten off plan more then I care to think about... but all in all, the scales are still showing a good lose...... I could have threw it all alway my first cheat, but instead I decided that I am worth this.... and it might take me 4 years to get to goal, thats ok too.... The most important thing is that everyday you do something positive for you..... As for me, I didn't go and eat oysters tonight, I am really relieved.... I talked dh into going fishing instead ![]() And instead for tonight I am having All meat chili and tea..... I would really like to see a lost in the morning... I am long overdue.... So if you see the whoosh fairy tell her I am waiting, but not so much patient now..... hope all of you have a wonderful night... I am shutting down the computer after I type this.... go and eat and then off for alittle pampering..... sometimes its nice to have the house all to your self goodnight all ![]() |

Good evening, all! This morning, I couldn't wait until 9:30 a.m. to do the weigh-in and so I was down a lb. But tonight (3 hrs after dinner), I'm down a total of 3! I'm waiting until tomorrow to make it official, but if that 3 lbs. is still gone I have reached and passed the 85 lb. mark!
Bpgirl: BIG congrats on being in ONEderland!!! That's a wonderful accomplishment and I am so happy for you! KUTG, honey! Dream: If those were "total" carbs, you should be fine, sweetie. If not...when the carbs accidentally go up, it will probably help to add some fats - even if it means a few tbsp. of flax seed oil, swallowed straight. (It's really ok and doesn't taste like anything.) That's what I did yesterday when I saw my fats were not high enough. Still, I only got them to 85 grams for the day, even with the flaxseed oil. It was just so busy, running to the doctor, the pharmacy, the store, etc., etc....I was so tired, I forgot to use butter when I was cooking!!! But I got cals to 1479, fats 85, carbs 41 (too high), and protein grams 115. Today it was another "lower" day for the fats because I was running to the doctor, pharmacy and such AGAIN today, even though I did remember to use butter and regular ranch dressing this time - totals were 1390 calories, 80 fats, 31 (total) carbs, and 110 proteins (10 grams more than usual). So we'll see what happens tomorrow. Kbetz: I surely do understand. I can't get to my exercise what with my mom's health suddenly getting worse; I have to stay home. So I'm just concentrating on the woe for now. But since my older kids will be home tomorrow, I am planning on getting to that pool for an 1.5 water workout. I NEED to do that; without it, my back slips out on me and I have trouble walking. So thank goodness I can get there at least once a week, but I do remember what it was like when my kids were little. You would think the constant work of being mom and "domestic engineer" would have kept me thin, but no... However, YOU are so much luckier...and you know why? YOU KNOW that low carb is your answer! Just stick with your low carb plan and you will see that scale drop! I have to tell you that I have not been at this weight in at least 20 years. I never thought I'd see the number I saw on the scale tonight... Lisa: SSSSH! Lead me not into temptation....ice cream!...chocolate/caramel or chocolate/cherry are my favorites. I do have some sf in the freezer and I had some last weekend for our party with a small slice of cheesecake (regular, unfortunately)...but it doesn't do a thing for me in the wt. loss dept. I figure that even sf ice cream has to wait unless it's a very special occasion, and then I still have to keep it to 1/2 cup. I had a whole cup (big whoop, right?). But it's nice to know that we can occasionally have a sugar-free treat. I just can't have it all the time (darn it!). But since you mentioned ice cream, I'm now wondering if that is why I suddenly went up 5 lbs. (a few days later) and then just as quickly dropped them, and perhaps that is also why it's been a good wt. loss week....might that slice of cheesecake and scoop of sf ice cream qualify as an example of the "free meal" phenomenon?

I'm so excited because I really did lose that weight last night, and, this morning, at least another lb. That is 10 lbs. since Monday!
I STILL can't believe it! I would so much like to lose just another 3 to hit an even 90 lbs. lost, before a halt comes (they always do).![]() I had my hair foil-highlighted a few days ago, and I will pick out something nice (and smaller) to wear so I can have a new digital photo taken. (I have some clothes I bought long ago that I never got to wear, and they are in perfect condition. All my older tops and blouses are hanging off my shoulders! Yippee!) Then hopefully, I can figure out how to post inside a message and share my first pix again (the one you've all seen, after the first 25 lbs. lost) and then the newer one! ![]() Girls, I still have a way to go to goal (68 lbs) - so don't expect anything stunning - but the difference is finally showing (it had better after all this weight loss!). ![]() |

Quick update...
Thursday afternoon Jessica called me on her way to the ER in severe pain. I got up to there as quickly as I could. The doctor there in Bryan didn't want to do the surgery because although he had removed tumors in the past, if the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes, he wasn't qualified to remove them. MD Anderson in Houston would not take her, but a team at UTMB Galveston (teaching hospital) agreed to take her, but we had to wait for a bed to come open, and an available ambulance to transport her. They finally got her moved around 1:30 this morning. They got her stable, so I came home to sleep a little (I am only two weeks post-op surgery on both knees and not getting around very well yet, but I'm trying). I asked her paternal grandmother to go down there and sit with her today so she wouldn't be by herself (my mother lives in northwest Arkansas). The doctor called me and said that they've ordered an MRI, and I'm waiting for someone to call me with the results. Jessica was very upset because they asked her to sign a release for them to perform a hysterectomy if needed (she's only 22). She told her roommate yesterday that she is 'hoping and praying for the best, but preparing herself for the worst'. I will try to update you the next time I come home. I live over an hour away, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to check back in. But we very much appreciate your continued thoughts and prayers!

Hello everyone. I'm back! Its been a while. Just wanted to give you a quick update. I had been off plan for the past few months. I'm going to blame it on stress (building a house, work, kids...life!) I woke up two weeks ago on a Monday morning 10/08/07 (after a long weekend of eating everything that wasn't nailed down) and decided I would get on the scales. It was at 248! I thought I would die. I have always sworn that I wouldn't get past 250 and there I was knocking on the door. So I decided to start anew that day and I'm happy to report I have lost 19 pounds since then!!!!
![]() ![]() If you guys don't mind I'd like to join the group again. You guys are just so supportive. I have continued to read your posts even thought I wasn't dieting. So what do you say will you open your arms and let me back in once again? I promise I will do better this time Last edited by Jeannie1970 : 10-21-2007 at 08:22 AM. |

Penny: My dearest, may God be with you. We will be praying for all of you, especially your dear daughter. I hope you get to see this because I want to share with you that if your daughter could have a PET scan, that is the best test because it can examine all the layers of our organs. MRI's can show much, but PET scans are more revealing. The more that is know, the better the treatment. When we went thru this in 1998 with a family member, we found out PET scans are not available at all hospitals but usually at specialized hospitals (childrens' hospitals, like the Children's Hospital associated with the Barbara Karmanos Institute here in Michigan, I think the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio and John Hopkins.
But searching the net for PET scan info might reveal that it is more widely available. I will happily do searches for you if I can reach you here or via email. (My email address is delitefuldivinemissm@yahoo.com in case you want me to send you any info my email.) Love and Prayers, Tawn - The Divine Miss M |

Dear Girls:
I would like to share with you that today I hit the 90 lb. goal, with 13 lbs. off since Monday. Elated as I am, I am wondering if I'm suddenly losing too fast for my health. (Why must there always be some doubt?) You know that most doctors recommend no more than 2 lbs. off a week. While I think that's ridiculous (since I can easily gain more than that overnight), I DO wonder if this week's wt. loss is too much. On the other hand, I keep thinking...I'm only 10 lbs. from the 100 lb. goal!!! From there, I will lose another 55. (Notice I didn't say I will try, but I AM going to do it.) There's no use calling MY doctor for advice...he didn't even remark on my fanatastic wt. loss when I saw him a few days ago, and heaven knows what he'd say... Ok, I know what I will do...I will have to go back to the PP books and see what they recommend. |

Thanks Devine.....I'm so happy to be back!
![]() I am really not sure about the 13 pounds in a week. Other than to say that is amazing!!!! I woud think that you know your body and know what you have eaten and how much your exercised and if your not going to any extreme I would think that your fine. Penny-I will keep your daughter in my prayers. ![]() I'll check back in later. J |

I've missed you girl! ![]() Divine WTG! 90 lbs - that is absolutely AWESOME!HIYA to everyone I've missed! I lost 1 pound last week so that brings me to a total of -47 (-37 on the challenge). I'm still trudging along. I started seeing a chiropractor this past Thursday for my lower back pain. It's the first time I've ever been and for a couple of days I was totally PAIN FREE! I've never been pain free for as long as I can remember. Today though, I'm hurting again. I go back tomorrow morning for my plan to see what we are going to do. I've eaten really bad this weekend. I know I can do this and I will be FULLY back on plan tomorrow morning. I guess sometimes you have to let go to go further. I will survive. I hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday and I'll check back with everyone tomorrow!

Penny- hang in there, our families faith has been growing stronger everyday and we have been praying for your daugher and your family.
Every one else thank you for the support and the welcome back on track. I am glad i choose to start on monday. i have been weening down The last 3 days. If you all rember where I was in my life 3 weeks ago.. we were trying to decide how and if we should home school our kids due to the some stuff that was happening/ not happening. Here is the update.DD now known as the human sponge is flying threw her lessons. DS who I strongly feal only has ADD and not ADHD is doing better at home than he was in school. DS 3y/o hasnt needed a feed threw the feeding tube in about a week. He has miraculously found the abbility to swallow solid foods. 1y/o is following rite behind him. They both are still drinking the resource nutrition drinks each day but only half the amount. AMAAAAAZING!!!! DS1y/o's adoption may be able to go to court by january, but they said no matter who comes forward they will not be takeing him from us. ( I still dont trust them completly) We started a neww church in the middle of september and we are still loveing every minute of it. I help serve dinner every wednesday to the youth program of about 30 kids and I am assisting in the Christmas program that practices on mondays. My kids are getting 5 hours a week of social interaction with me and with out me each week so I couldnt ask for any more. I guess my point is that life is going well, not perfect but well. I have verry little excuse now as to why I cant drop some pounds. |
