ok, I have play the past few weeks... losing and gaining the same weight all over again.... I am back on introduction this morning..... going to stick it out the full two weeks before uping my carbs....
I want so bad to be down 100 lbs by the end of the year.... And I can still make that goal, if I get serious about it now..... we all need to pick something and stick with it... And atkins always works for me... so lets do it.... after the two weeks are up I am wanting to start adding some protein shakes in.... I talked to a lady the other day that was buying some protein stuff, she said she adds it to her coffee and said it was wonderful.... she had the gastric bypass done... I wish they made it in a trial size, so I could try it before buying ahuge container of it.... I know its going to be a tuff next few days.... this morning- 3 eggs w/ 3 sausage coffee w/cream dinner- steak I ate a late breakfast.... so I don't know if I will get 3 meals in today or not.... hope everyone is having a wonderful day....

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.
I'm wearing my new clothes today and a couple of people have made some comments about noticing my weight loss. It does make a difference when you actually wear clothes that actually fit - my old pants were so loose it looked like a family was living in them! ![]() Although the banks are closed, I have to work tonight. Probably will get to leave early so that's good - tomorrow night will be the kicker. There's no telling what time I'll get home tomorrow. Didn't walk this weekend or today yet. I plan on hitting the treadmill tonight and at least three more times this week. I would really like to see -5 on the scale this coming Saturday and hitting 282! - crossing fingers! That would mean the 270's would be close by - don't you love my logical thinking! ![]() We have to keep in this together!! Everyone take care and I'll check in later!

Hi Everyone,
So I resisted the cake temptation & the pizza It feels so good to be in control. Since I knew this would be a tough situation, I ate before the party and had a salad there. I have been stuck at the same weight for 2 days............I think I need to focus on water, my ketosis sticks are dark purple so I should be losing, right??? ![]() I know it hasn't been a week yet that i started, however, I feel so good physically & mentally that I am in control, not starving, & have you guys for support. I have tried this WOE before & I think what was missing was all of the support from others ![]() Have a great day ![]() ![]() ![]() Holly __________________ LOSING IT WITH BUGS Starting Challenge 10/2/07 Goal: Lose 25lbs by 11/10 10/2/07 243lbs (start weight) 10/6/07 240lbs (-3lbs) Many Thanks To My Fellow Supporters! Good Morning!
Bug - I'm glad you got some nice compliments! You're doing great!
Lisa - for a good first day! Holly - for resisting pizza & cake! Good job Just remember that you won't necessarily lose every day, and normal daily fluctuations may even cause a gain. As long as you're sticking to plan it will all even out. The ketosis sticks register fat you've eaten as well as body fat you're losing, so just because you're in ketosis doesn't mean you'll see a loss each day, and vice versa. Measure yourself and pay attention to how your clothes are fitting; the scale is just one measure of progress & it can be stubborn & evil Don't get discouraged - you're going great! Penny - How are you feeling? How's your DD? Belated Dream!MissM - As much as I like seeing your divine self in your cool shades, I think your new avi is pretty swell Tiffany, kbetz

I am still happy with the loss I had. What does everyone do to get their fiber??? You any of you put flaxseed in your food??? Have a great day ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Holly - Read what I posted to you above.
Exercise is great for you and I highly recommend it. Just be aware that the scale may go up at first because your body is retaining water to repair muscles that aren't used to being worked so hard I try to get in at least 100 oz of water each day, not sure if it helps my loss that much or not, but I figure it's better for me than diet coke, etc. Do you use fitday or some other on-line food journal? It's helped me a lot. I eat a flax muffin twice a week or so (recipe below) & it gets things moving if you kwim. Relax, stick to plan, try to start exercising & you'll do fine. If you want, post your menus &/or link to your fitday & I'll be glad to take a look and offer any tips I can. Quote:

Thanks Jennifer for the birthday wishes. We had a good time last night. DS took me to dinner. DH had to work late. I was good though and had a small piece of steak and broccoli. The cool thing is for some reason, when restaurants prepare broccoli, it's flavored so good with garlic or something. Delish.
No loss to report today. But I do officially weigh in with my research group. I anticipating being 185 or 186. Oh well, it's better than the 189 I was last month. I will report tomorrow. Lisa: Congrats on your loss. You are doing so great. Holly: I have also made flax meal pancakes. Yummy. Bug: Enjoy your new clothes! Hi Tiffani, Kbetz and Divine.

![]() I still have another 6 lbs getting back to my profile weight ![]() dh did really well, until last nigth.... he came to bed after watching house and said he drank some milk I told him it was not allowed, he didn't understand why cheese was and milk is not..... I brought me some protein mix yesterday... I would love to start drinking one of those a day.... I printed out some recipes... some I can't do right now.... but there is one for Mocha coffee that sounds good.... I would love some new recipe idea's if anyone has any for the chocolate flavor shake mix...... today: b=-3 egg w/ sausage coffee w/ cream l=- all meat chili w/ tea d=-t-bone steak hope everyone has a wonderful day..... will be back later ![]() |

Hey Ladies!! I'm ready Lisa! Lets do this. Wonder Twin powers, activate. Form of ... a slim us!! OH yeah. I restarted AGAIN today. What ever happened to the honeymoon phase. I miss that. Anyways, it is TOM and a weird one for me. Usually it is over in 3 days at the most, sometimes 1 1/2 days. Well, it is day 4 and still going on. It is much slower/lighter this time. Maybe my body is getting back to normal. I have PCOS and it gives me hards TOMs. Well, they aren't regular as far as timing yet, but getting closer. I made some goodies over the weekend and ate them!! So, today is the first day of being back on woe. I didn't weigh in, but will tomorrow. I know it probably isn't as bad as I think, but that's ok. I still don't want to look.
Not much of seclection to eat right now. Tomorrow is my shopping day. So it will be eggs pretty much today. I think I may have some ground turkey. I like taco salads with it. Well, everyone is doing great...BUG IS A HOTTY is what I hear. OK, I will do Curves on Friday and eat right for two weeks. No matter what. I will do Curves three days a week to. Hey, weigh in for BUGS challenge is in one month. I need to kick this thing into gear....here I go. ![]()

Holly- You are doing good. Don't get discouraged. Drink lots of water. How much are you drinking? I have to drink at least 96 oz. but I try to drink 128. I do well with that. Can you post what you are eating? I have a friend that when she drinks diet soda, she stalls. I stall when I eat SF jello. So do watch what you are eating the first weeks. What kind of exercise are you going to do? Are your clothes feeling looser? Go by how your clothes fit for a while, not the scales.

Jennifer- so those muffins work, ey? I need something that works. I really want to do a colon cleanse. I bet I will feel so much better and be less bloated. But I definately need something to keep me moving through the week. I don't want to have to keep taking stool softeners or such.

tiffani we can do this.... I am so ready to get the scales to moving again.... the scales are doing great right now and this is just the third day.... I know I will be back in the 340's soon...
![]() I am looking ( bidding) on a walking stick on ebay.... I really think this will help with my balance while walking... I will know soon if I won it or not... I really need to start doing some kind of exercise... Not only for the weight loss, but for how it gets my body into balance.... I can really tell when I am walking, that my body is more limber and I move alot easier... I am wanting to go to the track at the park and walk... dh thinks I am crazy for wanting a walking stick, but I have done alot of reading on it and it might be the way to go, expecially since my balance in not very good.... I was thinking too about a taco salad... yesterday I made a all meat chili... it was really good... and filling.... will be back later ![]() |

Hi Ladies.
Thanks Lisa for the belated birthday wish. When I went to my research group yesterday, one of the ladies made a flourless chocolate cake. OMGosh, it was so good. And very carb friendly. You are doing great. I know you will hit your siggy weight soon if not completely pass it up. You are fortunate your DH is doing this with you. My DH has started several times and keeps giving up. Not enough variety in what he can eat I guess.Tiffani: I'm with you, jumping back on the wagon. To many birthday goodies. ![]() A friend of mine in the research group said she's determined to lose 20 by the end of the year. Okay, I would like to lose 10 by the end of the year. I'm hoping I can do it. I at least want to reach the 170's, something I never thought I could do, so that's what I'm looking toward. I'm not sure how I'm going to jumpstart my losses this time. I need to change something up majorly to get my metabolism going again. Bug is a hotty? Okay Bug, that's the rumor, so let's see. Post a pic. Holli: I make flax meal pancakes with egg beaters, about 1 cup, 2 tablespoons of flax meal, about 1/8th of a cup or a little more DaVinci's vanilla syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and a little salt. I use egg beaters to cut down on the fat. I try to cook them in very little butter or nonstick spray. The good thing is you can keep them in the fridge for a few days and eat them as snacks. You can also eat them warm with a little butter melted on and DaVinci's syrup or SF maple syrup. The carb count on the egg beaters is nil (or you could just use eggs) and just divide the carb count on the flax meal by how many pancakes you make out of the batch. I ususally get 4 and the pancakes run about 4 carbs each. If you use SF maple syrup, that may add carbs depending on the type you get. Oh, my "Official Weigh in" at the research group was 185.2. Hi everyone else. |

dream I have the same problem with my dh.... He can go all day long without eating and then he eats till bed time... on this diet, he is always starving.... I tell him to eat more protein, but this doesn't seem to help him for some reason....my dh holds most of his weight in his stomach area.... legs, butt small.... I read the other day that people that have bigger stomach do really well at losing weight on atkins.... I wish he would stick with it, cause it makes it easier for me to stick with it....

Hi!
My DH can never stick to Atkins either. He does his version (Scottkins
) & never gets rid of his cravings (he eats s/f ice cream & candy all the time), so he cheats. Plus he doesn't control his portions & eats out of habit rather than hunger, and has the one bite or serving won't hurt me attitude. I wish I could get him to commit, but I know it has to come from within, and I don't want to be the food police. I grew up with the food police. As much as I want to, I won't use the emotional manipulation of "if you reallly loved me you'd do it". You know, I gave my weight issues up to God when I started this woe, but last week I told God that I would gladly take them back if He'd help DH see the light. I want him to be around for a long, long time. Who else will I aggravate? I told him if he wanted to do WW or any other plan I'd be glad to cook legal meals for him. He says he wants to do Atkins, but he wants to eat whatever he wants & gets mad when I explain to him that that's just not possible if he wants to be healthy. Sorry for the vent. This weighs very heavily on me. Quote:
Dream - Congrats on your weigh-in! ![]() Lisa - Try to convince your DH to eat during the day so he won't be so hungry at night. Especially foods high in fat which satiate us. Thanks for the banana muffin recipe. Hi Holly, Bug, DivineMissM, kbetz |

![]() I tried to tell him to up his fat and protein at night... if he could just stick with it for a few days eating like I do... maybe he could get himself into ketosis....today was my third day and i can already tell I am going into ketosis... where is Kbetz? Penny? |

Lisa: Great job on the huge weight loss this week!!!
I am still stuck at my weight, I am going to drink tons of water today and see if it makes a diff. I am also going to try the flax muffin. Maybe this will help me. I know I need to get to the gym too, not sure if it will be today though. My energy was a bit low since starting last week, but I can tell it's starting to come back. Does caffeine or Splenda & or Equal slow down the weight loss? Have a great day guys..........I appreciate you all ![]() Holly |

Holly some people seem to have a problem with splenda it does have 1 carb per pack..... I use sweet and low
I have also notice that some people have problems with any artificial sweetners.... I am lucky I am not one of them.... hopefully the scales will start moving for you again soon... I know when you are doing everything right and its not moving, it can get discouraging.... that why it is so important to measure too... sometimes you lose inches even when you don't lose weight..... I know even though my tape measure didn't measure lost, my cloth were sure getting loser.... so don't let the scales get you down... and just remember if you are doing everything right, then the scales will also move too very soon..... |
