MAJOR LCF POSTER!
|
Hi Ladies. Just checking in. No loss to report, but hey, no gain either.
Lisa: I told you you would do good. Congratulations. ![]() Sometimes we need to go off plan and then back on again to lose the weight. I want to lose 5 lbs before Nov. 13th. I'm going to keep tweeking a little to see where it gets me.Holli: Equal may slow your loss. Stick with splenda or stevia. I have a sweet tooth, so I use stevia in my tea and splenda to sweeten foods with. I also try to stay away from diet soda that isn't sweetened with splenda. I'm frustrated because I can't find any splenda sweetened diet coke anymore which used to be my favorite. Also, although I love it, I don't eat SF jello much either. The Davinci's syrup is a splenda product. So many flavors too.Jennifer: I, too, struggle with DH as I said earlier. He's already on heart medicine, carries all his weight around his middle, and I fear for his longevity. On a selfish note, I kind of want him around so I don't have to be alone once the kids are gone. Although my way of eating does keep the treats around the house at bay, that doesn't stop him from going through the McDonald's drive through. Ugh! Okay everyone else, where are ya?

Hey everyone!
Work has been really busy lately - both jobs. Hope everyone is doing well. Been thinking about everyone lately. I'm hanging in there and keeping my fingers crossed as well as my toes that I'm really down this Saturday. I've been really careful and watching everything that I have been eating this week. I've also been getting in the treadmill when I can. Will touch base later! ![]() |

Thanks Lisa for the vote of confidence. I'm going to do this. I have to. Yay! We are in this to win it! Whoo Hoo!
Unlike your DH, mine whines and complains all the time. He makes a big production about taking "his pill" every night so everyone can see. Ah, what's a girl to do. I guess you me and Jennifer can all concentrate on praying for our DH's and ourselves to be encouraging to them, and be strong to support them. It's tough sometimes. But together we can do this. We are doing the right thing by taking care of ourselves though. That's a huge step in the right direction and we can set examples for our DH's. Bug: Where's our hotty picture? Ha Ha. Anyway, I admire you waiting and only weighing on Saturdays. I'm a scale addict. Last edited by Dreamcometru : 10-11-2007 at 10:36 AM. |

Lisa: The Flaxseed Muffin was so good!!! I was really impressed! Hopefully it will get things movin'. Thanks.
Dream: I know that Diet Rite is made with Splenda =) Also Hansen's soda( I buy at Trader Joe's) Are Davinci syrups sold in grocery stores? Torani sugarfree syrups are made with Splenda too. I buy at Cost Plus (best price $5.99) sometime on sale for $1 less. Holly |

I'll show you a hottie picture when I meet goal - I promise you. Right now, I am definitely NOT hottie status. Scales are so hard not to get on during the week. I shoot for Saturday mornings only because I would be if I saw it going up/down during the week. Knock on wood - I haven't seen it going 'up' on an official weigh in day.Ya'll take care. ![]() |

Dream I think its because I am doing the diet that dh is going to give it another try.... he see I am doing well, so that encourages him.... so yes you are right, we need to do this for ourselves and Maybe some of it will rub off...
![]() Holly, glad to hear you like the muffins... did I tell you can freeze them..... I made a batch for my water aerobic instructor, she paid me 12 dollars for them ![]() Bugs I weigh every morning.. but I have learn that my body will not always show a lose.... so I have learn to celebrate my loses and be proud of them... and when I gain... it really does not get me down... I just try to think of what went wrong.... how could I do it better... or is my body just adjusting again.... the scales use to send me straight to the refrigerator to eat... Now I just except what it says and goes on... ( Yes, I really do have talking scales)

Sorry I haven't posted lately. I've been REALLY down, both physically and mentally. I went to my post-op visit and my doctor ordered "extensive" physical therapy, and we got it scheduled for the next three weeks, but who knows how long it will take. My right knee is doing very well, but my left knee is still pretty swollen, painful and bruised. I'm able to hobble around my apartment on crutches, but I'm having major issues with simple things, like I can't get on and off of the toilet in the master bathroom, so I have to go in the guest bathroom because I can use the tub to slide on and off of the toilet in there. Yesterday morning the weather was nice here, so I went out to sit on the balcony, and almost freaked because I couldn't get up out of the lawn chair and my boyfriend was at work! That was scary! Last night I went into the living room and put ice on my left knee because it's still so swollen, and it was so painful getting off the couch (even with my boyfriend lifting me), that I'm not going to try that again for a while. So here I lay in bed (because it's high and I can get on and off it by myself) with my knees propped up on both pillows.
I got horrible news Friday regarding my daughter. She signed up for a study at school regarding painful periods and they did a sonogram to start the study. They found an enormous tumor, so big that it's just pushing her uterus out of the way and they couldn't even find her right ovary! If that wasn't devastating enough, her left ovary is covered in cysts! I am completely devastated! My baby girl could die, have cancer, or not be able to bear children. With no insurance, her options are limited. The doctor sent her for a blood test to determine if cancerous cells are in her blood. She won't get the results from that until next week. If they can find a way to get the surgery done, I'm not sure if I can even sit in a chair yet at the hospital to be by her side! All prayers are appreciated.

I will keep her in my prayers and I wanted to give you a piece of advice. Depending on what she makes a year she may be able to get on medicaid if she is fond to "God for bid" have major issues. Every state is difrent but and another way might be to apply for medicaid dissability. It's only for those who are unable to work and they can get insurance and a small amount of cash. Some times there is a copay. If she is working part time rite now while in school she may be better off to quit her job. I now that sound awful but medical bills could get high. Another FYI, medicaid will back pay 3 months so if she pays now for things she can be reembursed. I'm not a system milker. Social services was my major in college. Alot of hospital offer a sliding scale or a free program. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know. Please keep us posted.

know that you and your daughter are in my prayers.... I can relate to the getting up out of the chair and not being able too... when I broke my ankles my weight all 416 lbs of it I had to lift with my arms.... I was too embarrashed to help for help... things will get better for you, just hang in there![]() so sorry about the information you got on your daughter... I know when its one of your babies, it hurts... but stay as positive as you can until the test do come back... it might not be as bad as they are saying.... experience with Doctors here.... they can get you all built up, scared to death and then it was not all that bad.... but, please know you are in my prayers.... ![]() |

Oh Penny:
I'm so sorry to hear about you and your daughter. Oh my gosh. That is the most frightening thing ever. Its so hard when its your child. Hopefully the tests will come back negative. Thank goodness there was the study and they found all of this out now rather than later. Remember to take care of yourself during this trying time. You should do the physical therapy. At least in the beginning. It will help you get back on your feet. Keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers.![]() Hey everyone else. How's it going today? I have the weekend to myself. DH and DS have gone hunting. Yay. My scale said I'm down today, but we'll see after this weekend. I don't want to jinx it. |

Dream - I am so jealous!
I would absolutely LOVE to have a weekend to myself all alone. Oh my, the things that I could do ![]() I just went shopping for some boots. I think they are so sexy. Problem is, I can't find any that will zip all the way to my knee. I did find one pair that aren't so sexy but will be so comfortable and warm for the winter. They kind of slouch so you can bunch the material down with the zipper. I was talking to my DH about it and even if I keep losing all this weight, I'm not sure if I will ever get to wear those sexy kind of boots. The more I walk the more I see two muscles (one in the front and one in the back) of my leg stick out. I love that Okay rant over - maybe one day.Looking forward to weighing tomorrow morning. This has been a tremendously busy week at both jobs and you don't even want to know the lack of sleep I have gotten But, on the upnote, I have done really good on this WOE. I have walked twice and it's hard to fit in walking with the hours I'm doing but at least when I *do* walk, I make it worth it with my workout. I hope everyone has a fabulous weigh in tomorrow morning. Every little bit adds up to a great loss!! ![]() Will check back in later on! Take care.

Hi Bug:
I've done the boot search thing too. I don't want the heels too high because I'm already too tall. The more emphasis I have on my height, the bigger I feel I am, so I try to tone that down as much as possible. As for my calves, ugh, they are huge. Ha, I could no more get boots to zip up on them than an elephant. I did find a pair of mid calf boots WITH NO HEEL! YAY!. They are just perfect for my long skirts. But I really need a pair in brown too. I was only able to find black. |

As for boats yes, I to would love a long sexy pair. My problem is chaseing kids in boats dosnt work to well. LOL. Mabe I could just throw it at them instead of chaseing them....hmmm... some thing to think about.. LOL I am big boned and 5"6 .5. Not the tallest but I have always felt like a giant so I skip the heals. Most of my length is in my legs. I wear a size 11 so mine come ogared size any way. I did find a really cute pair of clog loocking shoes that with my Tall's pants cover the backs. They are supper comfy and kind of sexy. They have a swirl trim across half the shoe. DH likes them, but they are much to heavy to throw at the kids! LOL.
Latley my wardrob has changed. It used to be baggy v neck shirts and now it is form fighting crew color T-shirts. I still wear the jeans. Nothing beats a good pair of jeans for a buisy mom. I love to be able to pull them up a little to smoth out my loose roll. Penny- I hope you and your family are OK. |

Hope this works. Here's a picture of the boot that I got from the store today.
![]() My DH loved them. But, I do want one with a little heel too. I'm 5'10" so I don't want much heel but something for when I'm feeling a little something something wanting to step out. ![]() I was reading on the company's web site and it says they come in extended calf sizes too so I might check another store location this afternoon. P.S. The one I got was a size 10 and it was the brown color. Last edited by Bug : 10-12-2007 at 12:32 PM. |

i WANT some boots
![]() my calfs are too big.... i keep measuring them waiting for them to get smaller so I can get them up on my calfs.... I know some of the plus size places, like roamans or woman within has them for plus size calfs.... It doesn't show what size they fit that would help... I do have some ankle boots, but would love to have the taller ones......So dream what you going to do with your weekend??? ![]() |

Here's the boot I got. Hey Bug, I saw yours on the website. I really like it and may have to get a pair of those. I have size 8 run of the mill feet and so does everyone else in the world so my size is hard to find because they are always sold out.
056669_beauty.gif I hope this worked. It did. Yay! Lisa: I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I need to paint the bathroom. I would love to do some thrift shopping. And I want to find a fruit stand or go driving up the gorge to purchase fresh off the tree apples. No TV! Yay! I also need to clean my fridge. Eeeeew. Its always easier to get the small tasks done when the rest of the family are gone. I can listen to music, read, drink tea and enjoy myself. I'm going to the gym tonight for sure. I will stlll meet my walking partner tomorrow am and Sunday b/4 church. I'll let you know what I end up doing. Last edited by Dreamcometru : 10-12-2007 at 03:23 PM. |

What more is going to happen to me? Yesterday my boyfriend's sister, husband and baby were in town, and we took them to dinner. I managed to get through dinner without excruciating pain, then we headed back home. I'm not sure why we went in separate cars, but we stopped at a red light less than a mile from my complex, and a drunk came flying up behind their car and plowed into them so hard that they hit us! My boyfriend jumped out of the car and went back there to check things out, and the guy was trying frantically to get his car un-hung from the bumper of their car. He got it free and LEFT!!! I was still sitting in our car (wasn't going to hobble out into traffic on crutches) and saw him flying around us and through two red lights. We called Houston Police, but they never showed up, and when I called back to see if an officer had already been dispatched, our accident wasn't even in the system! She told us that since our cars were driveable, that we should come home and file it online! Gotta love Houston PD, huh?
I was finally able to stand on the scales without crutches and get a reading, and the good news is that the stuff I had to settle for when I was immobile didn't hurt me. The bad news is the Vicodin does nothing for the pain but makes me not care until the next day when I can't go! I guess this is my body's way of telling me that I need to become mobile to "go". Oh, by the way, I can totally relate with the boots situation. My boyfriend bought me some ROCKIN boots last year for Christmas, but I couldn't get them zipped up over my calves! I refused to return them in hopes that I could wear them one day, so they're still in the box in my closet. Hopefully by the time it gets cold enough to wear them down here, they'll zip right up over my calves! |
