everyone! ![]() Hope everyone had a great weekend! Tiffani and Penny WOW Ya'll are great - way to go on the weight loss last week. Penny - you look awesome in your pictures and that B&B was absolutely beautiful!! I got to walk last night 2.5 miles and walked another mile this morning. I lost 1 pound last week. It's the week before I start and I feel so bloated. I'm hoping this Saturday will be better - heck I'll take the 1 pound - I just want more. You know, we 'think' we put it on over night and we want to take it off over night. It just doesn't work that way. I can feel and see the difference so I know it's working. I just have to keep at it. And you know, I've lost a total of 32 pounds and 22 of those is on this challenge. We will get there! Hope everyone has a great day - I'll check in a little bit later! ![]()

Thanks again Bug for starting the new thread. Wow, 32 lbs. Good for you.
Penny: Thanks. You are so sweet. I'm glad we all can lean on each other for support. Good grief, 30 lbs down. That's fantastic. I remember when I first started and never thought it possible to lose 30 lbs. It looked hopeless. But we both know it's not now! Your pictures look great and you can certainly see the difference. You look fantastic. The place you stayed look so welcoming and cozy. I bet you guys had a fabulous time. Lisa: So glad you got to spend time with your familiy. It always means so much to have those times. And, love this WOE. Just jump back in and get started once more. You can do it. We all can do it. We've just got to keep hanging in there. Divine: I spent more time reading last night and find I'm doing pretty close to PSMF. I tried to cut back this weekend calorically. I did excellent on Saturday, probably around 800 calories. Started out great sunday and then blew it with a DQ treat. I was traveling on Sunday taking DD2 to college and just couldn't face having salad AGAIN and so I had a treat instead. And believe it or not, I'm not up this morning. But they say it takes about 4 days before you see the effects, so we'll see in 4 days. I'm sore from doing the non aerobic exercises, but ya gotta love that feeling. Just slowly working to shake it up. Maybe the treat will jumpstart my system again. Who knows. Hi Kbetz, Tiffani and anyone else I missed.

Hey. Yeah, it is hard sometimes to realize how long it will take it to come off. Like Bug said, it took a long time to put it on and it will take a long time to take it off. We all just need to hang in there. I for once in my dieting life, have come to realize that I will do it this time. It may take too long for what my fleshy spirit wants but realistically, I know what it is going to take. And I am willing to do it this time. A lot of prayer and trusting in God. Giving it to Him was the wisest thing I have done. That way, if I lose 0 lbs. or 10 lbs. in a week, I know God is in control of it so it has to be right. Although it is easy to try to take it back. When I start getting discouraged, I remember "OH YEAH, I already gave that to you, Lord. You are seeing me through it your way." At least the pressure is off me. Everyone is doing so well. We have so much to be thankful for with this WOE and especially for God leading us to each other. I am sure we are the BEST thread here. We rock!!
![]() So, speaking of team work...who wants to start the letter to Oprah? Someone volunteer to start it and we can pass it on to each other til everyone has added there part. Or just write seperate ones and then sending them all to one of us and mailing them all together in one big envelope? Lisa, you're a good writer!! How bout it? or Good Morning America? Actually lets format a letter and send it to a bunch of different ones. Lets maximize this and get more than one cruise and wardrobes!!

Hey, girls! Doesn't September just seem to be flying by???
Dream: Yep, I know the conditioning exercises are a new thing for the body, and it whines about it at first. I have the opposite problem; walking does that to me and my body never gets over the whining! We walked a few hours at a Renaissance Festival on Sunday and I took it as easy as I could, but I think the uneven ground is what got to me. For the past few days, I've felt like something the cat dragged in! Tiff: Sorry, hon, I can't say a thing about or to Oprah...cuz I don't reallly know the details of what you are talking about. My bad...but I don't really watch much tv...kinda got out of the habit when all the kids were littles... Jennay: Phooey on the 10 lbs. that returned to roost, but thank goodness you know how to make them go away! Lisa: How are you feeling today, hon? Penny: Are you still reveling in the 30 lb. loss? I hope so; that's quite a great marker!!! Bug and Kbetz: I can just see you two becoming champion walkers, like our Dream...

everyone!Divine - thanks for the support - champion walker. kbetz has me beat on so many levels. I have tried and tried to do 2 miles in 20 minutes and I just can't. But, one day when I grow up, I want to be just like kbetz! ![]() I don't seem to be as bloated today so I am not getting on the scale until Saturday. It will come off. I just have to patience. If anyone has any extra patience - send it my way. ![]() My DH said this weekend that he could tell that I had lost weight in my back side. I have to admit when I got my tat in July we took a picture of my backside He took another picture Sunday. While - 32 pounds does make a difference! Penny - you are so right and you look wonderful! Hello ladies! How is everyone today?
I am faithfully wearing my knee braces, even though they're so hot. I can't tell if they're making a difference yet. This morning they were very painful. Why did this have to happen now? I refuse to go on an interview wearing these stupid things! And what makes it worse is I was doing so good walking and taking the stairs. I'm going to have to find something else to do. Maybe MAKE myself go down to the pool. Scales are up this morning and I think the reason may be those stupid soy pills that quack gave me to take! I feel like going back up to that sawed off, wig wearing PIG and slapping him, and telling him that he should have given me hormones! That's what I went in there for, and he should have given them to me! Maybe he gave me those soy things to make me gain weight so that he could tell me about his weight loss plan. I don't understand how he can have a weight loss plan, when he's obese himself! Sorry y'all. PMS has nothing on this! Okay, calming down now. Thanks to all of you for you compliments on my pictures! Although my clothes are really loose, I can't see much of a difference.

Yay, Jennay - Glad you're back. Jump back in. This thread keeps hopping. How's the new job going?
Tiffani: You always grace us with your positive attitude. Thanks for the uplifting post. When I was at my heaviest, I prayed to God to give me the strength to do something about it. He knocked at the door. I was reading a local news website about a weight loss research project. I tried to get in only to be told it was full, but I left my contact information and stats. I was so discouraged because I didn't have the strength to do this on my own, then a YEAR later, I was invited to participate. He was definitely watching out for me. The project is a comparison between LC and low calorie. So far us LC'ers have been more successful then the low calorie (dash diet) people. The study is long term (three years). One of its research points is to determine who can keep the weight off. A lot of people in the study are in maintenance. I, on the other hand still have a ways to go. Divine: Sorry you are sore from walking. It can be hard on the body. I read up on another morning workout. It has a lot of the same exercises I've been doing, but with different twists. I'm excited because I tend to get done before 10 minutes are up. They all say if you don't have time to exercise big time, just at least do the 10 minutes every morning. It will make a big difference. We will see. The ickiest (is that a word) exercise is the modified pushups and both sites recommended doing them. Owww. But I'm still going to do my other exercises too. Penny: I hope your knees feel better. Can it be all the rain you guys have been getting? I can totally see a difference in your pictures. 30 lbs makes a huge difference. Remember the twirly skirts! I haven't skied in a while because of my knees. I think I'm light enough now that I will give it a try again this winter. Not to mention, I can fit into any set of ski bibs that I have hanging in my closet!Lisa: Awww Feel better soon. I've been very fortunate to not have bad TOM's (ha, when I have them). Ferocious mood swings, yes, and perhaps a blistering headache afterward, but other than that, my medical symptoms aren't very bad at all. I hope your's passes quickly.Bug and Kbetz: My other walking machines. Let's do this. Yah Bug, let's see those pictures. |

I need to ask you gals what you think of this. I have been looseing really slow this time compared to last time. I keep saying well your older now. I am only 3 years older
( 28 Y/O) The last time I lost so fast and I atewhat seemed like LC non stop. I never worried about portion or cals. I normally consume around 800-1500 cals a day.I happened upon a thread that was about a girl who was asking for help on why she wasnt losing despite all the exercise she was doing. Her story is besides the point. This was a formula given. "set your cals body weight x 12 is an estimate start pt for fat loss. See how you do there. Ideally you should know your maintaince cals but can gestimate them to be about body wt x 15" "stated by inatic" in another thread. With this being said, than I should be maintaing my weight at 3000 calories. If this is more or less acurate, than why am I maintaining for the most part with much lower cals. I am slowly droping again , but I spent 2 months looseing and regaining the same 5 pounds. Could my cals need to upped? I eat moderate sized portions. I stay under 20-25 carbs a day and what ever protein I eat, it is always 1 serving. ex. 1 chicken breast, 1 bun size hamburg, 2 eggs, bacon, susage or hot dog only once a week, under 4 oz of cheese a day and that is if I even eat it. No SF foods. Hmmm. I am wondering if I finally have a grip on my portion sizes and my body just isnt ready for it yet. I dont want to consume 3000 calories a day. What are your thoughts on this... Am I not eating enough should I be at 2500 cals or 2000? I really dont want to go above 1500,just because I still weigh 250 but I dont want to keep looseing slowly or be doing damage to my body. I am exercising alot more than I was and I am seeing my clothes geting bigger and skin getting tighter.

Jen- you will make it back to wonderlad in no time. If you have been eating off and only gained 10 than I bet if you went into a induction mode for 2 weeks you would loose the 10 and maybe even 5 more. You are probbaly holding in water because most would have gained more.8 might be water. I think you can do this. Do you remember that fealing when you first started to loose and it fell of over night, well you are about to see it again. Your bidy has been saying munch, munch, munch, and it is about to say wow what is going on. Do a 2 week Induction and you will kick start a end of year Big LOSS.
Divine- walking has become me way of getting energy.I feal more energized when I walk. I also have another reason. I used to feal like people were staring at me because I was over weight. Now I say let them stare. I walk down the road to the school or even the grocery store for a few items. I am proud to be walking, and if some one wants to laugh at me while they drive down the road eating there supper sized french fries than let them. I also am doing it in spirt for every over weight person and not over weight person. Maybee someone will see me and it will make them feal ok to go walk. The "girls" in the neighbor hood are able to bus there kids to school and one mom complains because her daughter has to walk 1 block to the stop. I told her yesterday that my kids walk the 1 mile home from school with me. I offered to have her join me and said she could even park at my house. Its to far she said. ( she seemsto be over all healthy) maybe they will latter. Bug - I have been doing alot of walking and other activities. You are doing great, you work 2 jobs. I am a stay at home mom with some times to much time on my hands. You probabbly do more activity than you realize. You are doing great. As far as the 2 mile in 20 minutes thing, try this . Do 1 mile in 10 minutes. It takes me 10 minutes to push the stroller to the school "1mile". than I stand for 10 minutes waiting for the kids and than I walk home the other mile in 15 minutes with the older kids. The kids slow me down. I seldomly do 2 miles in 20 minutes. Maybe 25. If I am going to the path I have to pase my self, but on the way to school I am always afraid of being late so I boggy. penny- I had to fianaly come to grips that DRs dont know everything. I have had so many tell me this and that and now when I take in one of the kids I tell them what I think and what I want. If I think they are full of it, I ask them to show me support to why they think there way will work. My 8y/o has ADD and we kept letting the DR tell us he just needed more medicine. Bull! Some kids might, but I went threw a side door and got this years teacher to back me up and we created a new action plan. He is done 15 mg already and I plan on droping it more. I have already told DR that if he dosent support me than I will find another DR. ( he is already the replacement to another Dr that was in the same building.) I have 4 kids with major issues that bring us in every other week, does he really want me to leave? Nope, I dont think so. Ok, now that I went off with you. Call your Dr and leave a message with the office of what you want. You paid for the office visit and you should be happy with the care you recived. I used to say well next time I go in or I'll make another apt. Why so he can charge me again? You know what you need. Good luck Lisa- Get well soon. Dream- I am glad you are in that study. I cant wait untill the day that the whole world sees LC as a great safe way. My 3Y/Os teacher asked me yesterday how much weight I have lost. ( she has known me since I was 310. Any way I eventually said I was in a challenge and I still needed to loose 25 pounds by nov 10. She laughed and said it will take me a year. She wasnt being mean she just dosnt understand our secrete weapon.I get tired of the garbage said about LC, so I am care ful what I saw to peoples attiudes. Your involvement in that study wil change the world. Keep it up! Bug- Oh ya,Big diffrence in the picture. I am still planing on a small tatto when I hit onderland but I have to ask you, how bad did that hurt? I am afraid of the pain that a quarter sized one will cause. |

you could also do like carb recycling..... having a high carb day like 25 to 30 and then having a low carb day like 15 to 20..... are you eating alot of frankenfoods? thanks everyone for the get betters..... I dont' get these bad Toms very often, but when i do I feel awful.... I went and laid down for alittle bit and felt alittle better when I got up.... did alittle house work and now I am feeling awful again.... think I am going to go and lay back down.... will be back later

Lisa- No frankenfoods- They give me really bad stomach cramps. I did start this past sunday doing a free responsible meal. I had 1 slice of pizza. I will do this free meal each week for the next month. If it helps than I will do it or if it dosn't hurt I will also do it. Every one needs a break! LOL.
I need to redo my premeasured veg- carb bags to be 10 carbs each. 3 times a day instead of 4-- 5 carb bags a day. If I was on the go I didn't always get each bag in. This will be a start. The last 2 days I have been enjoying cooking. Today I made eggs that were amazing. I love my froz veg. I found these peppers and onion flam grilled mix bags at GFS ware house. They have 3 carbs per serving, and wow they are amazing.I am going to make them tonight again with some green beans. I am going to try and make a parmasion coated chicken to go with them. Oh ya, sound good doesnt it. LOL I am finally cooking the family the same meals for the most part. It took a while to convience the kids that cooked spinach is GREAT! ( or atleast good.) I just want to see a 3 pound drop a week. Is that to much to ask? Hey every one,- I was thinking about something. When I loose another 40 pounds I can say I lost 100 pounds. Yes, I would also have to say that it took me from January of 2004 until..... But I wouldn't haaaave to say that I gained back 38 of it during that time. LOL. I could also clam rite now that I have lost 60 pounds, even though I only see it as 30. hey for those of us who loose the same 5 pounds over and over again can we just add them up and claim them. Wouldnt that be great.Ha Ha, hee hee, hee. Last edited by kbetz0419; 09-18-2007 at 11:56 AM.. |

Lisa - I'm sorry you're having such a hard time! I've been crying all morning. I'm frustrated because I don't understand how to do something at work and the girl that was showing me said, "What don't you understand?" Well, the reason why I don't understand is because she is showing me, not letting me do it so I'll learn. Then my daughter called and told me that she needed more money, and the physical therapist called to set up my appointments for PT on my knees! It was just too much!
But when I got back from lunch, my sweetheart had sent me two dozen red roses! They were supposed to be delivered yesterday, but I told my boyfriend that it was actually perfect timing because I had an upsetting morning. It's these kinds of things that make me crazy about him! Dream - Yep. I am the QUEEN of the spinning skirts! I have on a long one today to cover my knee braces and it keeps dropping down and showing my tummy! Wow! I've NEVER had that happen! Bug - Woo-hoo! Look at that smaller boo-tay! Kbetz - When my daughter was little, they tried to convince me that she was ADHD. Turns out that she was just so darn smart that she was bored! She would finish her work in record time and start distracting the other kids. When she was in the 3rd grade, I walked into her classroom and saw her desk sitting all alone in the corner, and I asked why. It was where she wouldn't disturb the other kids! Now she's on the Dean's List taking pre-med classes at one of the most prestigious universities in the country. When she gets her masters, I want to write to that teacher and tell her just how wrong she was about my child! So there! Ha! Tiffani - You're so funny! I wish I had your energy! Jennay - Welcome back! DMM - Hey, my weight loss is NOTHING to yours! But I can't thank you enough for all of your infinite wisdom! I know that there are others in other threads who criticize, but "eating low" is the only thing that's ever broken a stall for me. I don't see it as unhealthy! Was being 30 pounds heavier healthy? No! So all the nay-sayers need to just run along and bother someone else! They need to step aside and let me by! I'm getting this weight off, darn it! Jamie - get your skinny little butt in here and let us know how you're doing, kiddo! |

Penny- aww roses, tell that girl... ,OPPS, No Wait, you can't do that, you need your job. Sory about that. My DS does have learning dissabilites, but hes actually very tallented and intelligent any many areas. I know that someday he will design something amazing. His mind never stops and he is great at drawing and working with his hands. In fact one area of the testing that was done on him last spring showed that he was way above average. He has an IEP and a great teacher this year so this is going to be our year. We are takeing back control. GO US! I love to hear about kids that have or are thought to have ADD or ADHD and end up being over achievers as adults. If you know anything about ADD and ADHD than you know that if used in the rite way the person is lucky. If they can learn to stay foccused they are usually very creative and hard workers. I love my little guy and I have all the faith in him. The funny thing was when my Ped said that my 3 Y/O likly has it to , I said good. I will not be even starting him on the meds. I have learned to force the school to work with the kids the way they are.( By the way I dont look down upon any one who does use the meds.) If I can find a way to get my oldest all the way off , I am going to. He has been on for 3 years. I will not take him all the way if it effects him to much in his ability to learn though. It is just going to be a matter of time and creativity.
Bug- wow 2 and a half hours. Owwwwwwwwwwee. How long do you think it might take for one the size of a quarter. maybe a nickle? Ya know I do have a birth mark on my stomach, maybe they could add wings to that? LOL What do you think. Last edited by kbetz0419; 09-18-2007 at 01:11 PM.. |

kbetz - they expected me, as that was my first, to go a lot smaller. I just didn't want to do it again! LOL A nickel size shouldn't be that bad. It also depends on where you put it. I found out later that the small of the back is a touche place. HA now I know... LOL

Lisa- I hope you can get some rest tonight.
yes I am offically 1/3rd of the way to my walking goal. Tonight I made parmesan chicken oh, it was soooo good. I just dipped chicken breast in eggs and then shook it in a zippy bag with parmasan cheese. We had green beans w rosted peppers on the side. The kds loved it. If you havnt made this, you must make it soon. I am planing on makeing Thanksgiving dinner on sunday. I am craving the holidays, there is something in the air. I have just about finished my christmas shopping for the kids.( 80% done.) I bought a turkey breast and so far I have planed green beans with mushrooms baked with cream cheese. I am hopeing it wil taste like green bean caserole. Does any one else have any simple ideas? I know there is recipes room but I want supper simple. I wasnt a great cook before and I still am not. DH wants stuffing, mashed potatoe, noddles and everything else. The side dishes will likely be used again at the real holiday and Christmas will be roasted in a 2 lt of diet orange soda. Does any one have an easy lC no bake cheese cake recipe? |

Hey guys, guess what...I over did it on Sunday. Yep, that's right, I am fleshy. It was my free day and I need to change the word "free" to something else like "not so much dummy". hehe I ended up gaining 5 pounds on Sunday!! We went to a pizza BUFFET. Yes, that's right, buffet. I had 5-6 pieces of pizza (they had chocolate chip cookie pizza!!). That was so gooood. Anyways, big lesson learned. NO BUFFETS on free day. So, the next day I was so sick from all the carbs, that I didn't eat enough only a chicken breast. I also gained 2 pounds that day. So I was up 7 pounds. Thankfully I felt better yesterday, repented of my gluttony (!) and lost 4 pounds. So hopefully I will weigh in at my ending weight of last Saturday. It's pretty cool though because it feels like that first time on induction and it like it is going to come off fast for the next week or two. So the BUFFET might not have been so bad after all. We'll see. It does feel good to go to the bathroom (bm) like this again. Can I get whoosh whoosh? (and a flush flush).
MORAL OF THE STORY: Not so much dummy is better than a free day! I haven't walked much because of my lower legs, but they are feeling good now. My knees have been bothering me (probably all the pizza) so I am going to start the treadmill again but walk more around 2 1/2 - 3 miles an hour instead of cramming it up right away. Probably do no incline also. Still doing Curves. Wednesday night tonight is basketball night. After church we go in the gym and play a few games of half court. Nothing professional at all, but lots of sweating and laughs!! I feel so blessed today. I hope you all feel the same way. God has given me some insight in areas of my life and my family's life. Thanks to the ONE TRUE GOD. |
