I know we all talk about exercise here and there, but I would love to now how or if we are all doing with it. If any one is not exerciseing dont feal bad because you can loose with out it. Some loose better with and some find it slows them down.

I have been doing, I think pretty well. I have walked 17 of my 60 miles so far. I normaly don't weigh in the evening but I wanted to see and it only said 251 so after walking today and eating I only weigh 1 pound more than this morning. I normally have a 5 pound gain in the evening.

So like I said how much or what is every one doing each week?

Kbetz- you go girl!! I am counting and I see how much the last couple of days...nice!! Mine isn't as good, but still good. I will take it. Watching your profile!! Watch mine!! Oh, Kbetz, I have to tell you, when I started reading your post about Wednesday, I got the chills and goose bumps. I am so excited for you. It really helps when you like a church so much, to keep going. And what an opportunity to talk to the "bully's" mama. I bet you will ssslidde on itno those rows this time!! I hear you abou thte gain during the day. I found that since I started this WOE, I usually only gain 2-3 pounds during the day and of course, by morning it is gone. Before this WOE, it was 5-7. JINKIES!!

Bugs- that would frustrate me too. What a time to be patient. ikes. It will be ok. Maybe you can get some pink fuzzy dice thrown in for your hassles.

Jennifer- what is the 5k thing? You were from the same hometown as one of the peeps on Biggest Loser? how cool! What size town is it? did you know her or her family? You get to travel a lot. Must be nice. Have fun in New O. Stay dry!!

IdealMuse- we didn't watch it. We were gone til about 11:30pm. Late night for us all. My two year old even stayed awake. But he did sleep in!! I liked watching that show the first season. Don't know if they changed the days of the week that it is on, but I never see it any more.

EXERCISE

I am doing Curves 3-4 times a week. When I go, I am there for about 50-70 minutes. I do extra on certain machines and definately extra crunches. I also try to get in good stretches after. Long and lean muscles is my goal!! I usually get my heart rate over 85% and sometimes 100%. But usually stay at 85% almost the whole time...yep, that's right, I sweat profusely!!

On the opposite days, I do some yoga stretches and pilates/sculpting thing. And then I walk on the treadmill. I have gotten up to 3 miles.

Didn't do either today. Lots of shopping (payday means groceries and errands) today. Was gone for 4 1/2 hours. YUK. Tomorrow is a Curves day.

everyone!

The rims are a no go. The company made me so mad. All I ask, is please call me and keep me informed. I finally left my day job early yesterday to go by the company to see what was going on. They lied to me - point blank. I just caught them in so many lies and I asked for my money back. They gave it to me and I then asked for the main number to corporate. They refused to give it to me. Can you believe?? Well, I told them that I was an educated person and I would get it, which I did, which I called and made a formal complaint. Believe it or not, the head honcho from the company called me last night while I was at my second job. I talked to him and gave him an ear full. He was shocked, understanding and kept asking what he could do to make it right. Unfortunately, I told him the surprise was gone. I told DH all about it yesterday and it was done with. We are going to wait on those rims from this bad experience. He did give me his name and cell number and told me to call him when/if we changed our mind. He even said they were having problems with the staff at that location and would personally be going there to take care of some things. okay - you knew you were having problems - do something about it okay. Vent over.

I got in another 2 miles last night when I got home because I was so frustrated. Which is a good thing. So far this week, the scales aren't moving. It is the week before I start so I'm sure that has something to do with my bloated feeling.

I was able to go a local bakery and order a miniature wedding cake for me and DH's anniversary - it serves 3-4 and has 2 tiers. It's absolutely adorable! Ours is the chocolate one in this pic. Just enough to say happy anniversary!

Will post more later ya'll! Take care!

Bugs- well, I guess you showed them...lol. That really bites though. I bet DH appreciated the thoughtfulness though. And the cake...yummy. Is that a chocolate cherub on top? It looks like chocolate marzapan which is almondy. Is it? Bugs, I know you guys will have a nice relaxing, fun, close together, long-lasting weekend. You deserve it. Don't worry about the scales right now. With the bloating and all...of course that will happen. Just enjoy the weekend. You have done so well on this WOE. And lost a lot of lbs. WTG!!

WALKING

OK. My legs have been really sore in the front of my lower legs, shins. It is from walking on the treadmill. It definately is in the muscle and not the bones. This isn't shin splints, right? My DH said shin splints are muscle and I say bone. I say it is just from working them and they were hard. I haven't walked since Tuesday ( I think ). Except shopping and life of course, but I mean on the treadmill. I still did Curves and am going today, it doesn't seem to effect them as much. Do you think it is just muscle soreness? Has anyone else encountered this? I know what muscle soreness is like, but never thought it would occur here, like this. Do you think I am walking to fast? Because the faster I go, the harder my body hits the treadmill and more pressure on my legs!

Hey Tiffani The cake is chocolate on chocolate and has chocolate covered strawberries around it. YUMMO! I know it's full of sugar but anniversaries come but once a year. and I'm PMS'ing so that helps right?

Drama continues - I just got a call from the manager at the rim dealership that has been such a pig to me. He was apologizing profusely! WOW Said he would have the rims in by noon TODAY, would I want them. He wanted to make it right. I told him if they came in by noon to call me and we would see. I noticed I had a voice mail on my phone and I checked it just now. It was also from him apologizing saying his job was on the line and he really wanted to make it right. So, ya'll keep your fingers crossed for me - okay.

And, Tiffani - when I walk really, really fast or when I start a new hill program, my legs/especially right in front and in the back hurt like the dickens. The next day, I do an easy program and then bounce right back. It seems to work better to mix it up like that. Take care of you!!

DH had some issues with work (he's on call even when taking a vaca day), so we're getting a late start.

I think we'll be OK as far as water goes. I just hope there isn't debris on the road in E TX / W LA, but it's been a few days & I'm sure clearing I-10 would have been a priority. Have you heard from your family?
Have fun in Galveston.
I'm so sorry about your brother.

This is the couch to 5k program that I'm doing. I'm on week 5, but didn't get to do day 3 this AM so I'll repeat it next week.
I'm from Metairie, La which is a suburb of New Orleans, but with a population of 150,000 or so, is one of La's biggest cities. Remember the levee that was breached after Katrina that flooded the city? That canal is the dividing line between Metairie & New Orleans. Lezley from The Biggest Loser is from Metairie, but I don't know her but I wouldn't be surprised if I know some of her family. You know how everyone is connected to everyone else by 6 degrees of separation? In NO it's more like 3 or 4. I swear, everyone knows or is related to everyone! It's bizarre!

Bug - You owe me a new keyboard because I've drooled all over mine Have a wonderful anniversary!

Lisa - How is your DD, son-in-law & family?

Have a great weekend!!!

Thanks y'all!

Tiffani - I have at least 100 more to go. I'm 250 now & only 5'2", so I'm thinking maybe 125 to go? I have a size 6 dress that is my goal, but not sure how much I'll have to lose to get into it since it's never fit!

YAHOOOOOO JENNIFER! THAT'S SO AWESOME! AM I JEALOUS? OF COURSE! DOES IT PUSH ME TO WORK HARDER. YOU BET. I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. WAY TO GO!

Divine: I managed to do my 10 minute workout this morning. My muscles feel it. I hope I'm not sore tomorrow, but I probably will be. I walked hills yesterday. Trying to push harder without working up too much of a sweat.

Tiffani: Oooooo, those cakes look so good. Hope you and DH enjoy yours. The shin splints or shin pain may be due to the type of shoes you wear. I switched mine and it made all the difference in the world. I would try to go at a fast pace and the pain would stop me in my tracks. Just a thought. You are doing great with your exercise though. Mixing it up seems to be the key.

Bug: Perhaps the rim place will cut you a deal since their employees are such turds.

Penny: I love plugging in. I use my Ipod on my walks. We don't have a lunch room in our office and the partners dominate the conference room. People tend to route calls to my desk if I eat here, so I get my walk in first, then usually eat while working. Also, other employees will want to come in to chat while I'm eating and I just want to be left alone. Oh well. It was nice of you to listen to the stranger though. She probably just needed someone to talk to.

Kbetz: I love reading your posts. This is the venting forum. I hope everyone feels like they can share. I find it theraputic and sometimes resolve my own issues when making posts.

Hi everyone else.

Tiffani-Thats great that your Curves lets you use the machines extra. The one I belong to and and dont use says we can do the the 30 minute circut and that it. Once I tried going around an extra time to make it a 45 minute work out including strech, and I was told "we really dont recomend that" I dont get much out of jumping around every 60 seconds. I'm glad you like yours.

Bugs - sory about the rims and great job on the walking

jenifer- WOOOOOOOOW WEEEEEEEE You made it there is no stoping you now.

I didn't do any offical exercise today but i am on a make over weekend. The sky keeps filling with clouds. Rain is near so am afraid to go walking. So far today My dad and I hung lattus on the lower part of my front deck. It looks so nice. Last night I worked in our basement that houses my room with a fitness area, a family room, a toy room and a laundry/ storage room. I cleaned everything realy good and threw out 2 trash bags of stuff. I plan on finishing this weekend the panting that I started a few weeks ago. And I am hopeing by monday or tuesday to be ready to pant the liveing room. When we bought our house everything needed painted so we just jumped in. Now I want to do it the way I want it done.

Penny: I now use something called Ultimate Cleanse, which is a total body detox but really works on the GI tract. I found it at a health store; it's a yellow-orange boxed package that contains 2 different bottles of natural herbs and supplements. Your own reaction may be different, depending on the amts. of "pills" you take, but the stuff definitely works! I take it every day (morning and night, 1 pill from a different bottle). Start with the lowest recommended dose...and btw, I'd start on a weekend or a day you are not at work. I say that because you may immediately respond, if you catch my drift. Eventually, your body will adjust and the response won't be so strong, but it may take a week or two. The packaging says to start with the low dose but increase it if needed until one visits the potty 2-3 times a day. My dose turns out to be just 1 pill, morning and night, every single day. However, there are days when I take 2 from the "morning bottle" - I find that's the one that gets the GI tract moving. The Evening Bottle (Bottle 2) mostly contains fiber.

Kbetz: My exercise consists of a thrice-weekly Water Workout that last 1.5 hrs each time. I've been introducing light weights into the mix this month, and do that twice a week.

Tiffani: My feeling is that you should seriously consider backing off on that type of exercise. Shin pain is a big signal that something is wrong. There are other ways to get your cardio in, and you could just as easily work your entire body by hitting the community pool without injuring yourself.

Jennifer: Wow-wow-wow! I wish I could shoot fireworks into the sky just for you! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! What an accomplishment!

Dream: Ooo, sore muscles! I do feel for you, hon!

Bug: Hi, hi, hi!

Btw, I dropped 1.2 lbs. this morning (gained .6 the day before from exercise). The total loss since Sept. 1 is just a bit over 2 lbs., but I am now rewiring the brain to focus even more so on my exercise and inches loss and not so much on the scale!

tiffani- I agree with devine, but I was afraid to say by myself. At the very least I would look at what kind of shoes you are wearing? For me money is always tight, but I make sure everyone has good shoes. I shop at prime out lets for most of the new stuff and there all over the US so if you need better shoes do a google search. If your thrifty watch the thrift stores. I found brand new good shoes there before. Sometimes people buy them and dont like them for what ever reason. Every foot is diffrent. Be careful and check the insides for wear because some people wear them inside only and they are well broken in but still clean. You dont want shoes that have a million miles inside them. I found a pair the other day that were great untill I put them on and I could feal the diffrence.

Divine- Well, the shin hurt is coming from the treadmill. It was definately the muscle and not bone. I took a break from the treadmill and am planning on going back to it Monday but go slower this time. Last time I got up to 4.2 miles and hour after just a few times on the treadmill and went for 3 miles. You know, really pushing myself. I also would incline it. Sometimes 10%. So this time, i am going to go slow and keep it that way and slowly build my muscles up. If the same problem develops, I will go back to walking my sandy road.
Will keep you informed!! Thanks for the help.

Good job on the -2!! It's working for you!! The muscle gains has to make youlook slimmer and feel better.

Morning Kbetz- I have some good new balance shoes, they are not even a year old. But, since losing weight, my feet are slimmer and not as big. They made my shoes a little looser. I have a different pair that is even newer. I forgot the brand, but they are good shoes and were tighter andhurt my feet so I didn't wear them as much. Maybe now they won't hurt since my feet are smaller. I also have support arches that are removable to put in any shoes because of heal spurs. I am hoping those too go away. If the other shoes don't work, then I will go buy another pair. We have some good outlets here too. That is probably what I will do!! Thank you so much for the advice. You are right about the shoes. I will fit them into next weeks budget if these other ones don't work!!

OK....another drum roll please.... the past week, in "LOSING IT WITH BUGS" I lost............ -7 !!!! Yeah, that's right baby, -7. That is 20 pounds gone during this challenge with Bug and lasses!! And -47 gone since I started this new WOE July 27. Oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah. I coming to join you Jennifer!! :kick ing:

More good news, the bulge in the middle of my belly is getting smaller. After I started losing, I lost weight right under my breasts (which was good because my breasts always rubbed on it and caused a painful rash). So anyways...it seems it all went to the middle part. Well it is finally going down too! There is not as big as a roll there. Matter of fact in some of my pants, you can't tell and others just a little. So I am happy about that. Also the hanging skin at the bottom is going down too. And kbetz, I now have a seperate back and rump too!!

BTW- I also got new bras so rub can't even happen. I went from a 44 to a
38G. That is exciting. Now if my cup size will just go down, I wouldn't have to buy $64.00 bras. I am hoping to get in a DD at least. Would love to go to a C.
