I am trying to read what I missed but it might take a month lol/...
Quick comment: Beware of the homemade ice cream! It caused me to have extreme cravings! I craved it everynight for a week and my weight would not budge! I am having to go back to induction atkins to hopefully get rid of the sweet tooth |

Dream - as always, thanks so much for the encouragement and tips! I know I haven't lost near as much as the rest of you, but you still let me stay! It seems as though every time I get bummed, you or Lisa are there to lift me back up and keep me going! Sometimes I feel like it's two steps forward and one step back, but I couldn't do it without y'all!
![]() DMM - What can I say that hasn't already been said? You are doing an awesome job, and I can't thank you enough for all of your helpful insight! Over the long holiday weekend I reverted back to regular low carbing because of what I had available. I never left home; in fact, I didn't get off the couch (thanks to the Vicodin) and now that I'm back at work and climbing the stairs, I'm feeling better and headed back in the right direction - down a pound this morning. I think the cabbage and spinach are helping to keep things moving! ![]() Christy - You were missed! I don't have time to read all of the posts either, and can't relate to a lot of them because I no longer have TOM, little ones, or pets, but I still get encouraged, so I keep coming back! Bug/Christy - I am probably the only person on this whole site who doesn't like the Dreamfield's. Everyone has their own opinion, and I've heard all the positives, but I thought it was like a big glob of goo! Blech! ![]() By the way, I thought I might share this tip with you all...I've been drinking Diet A&W Cream Soda when I have cravings for sweets. I stock up on the 2 liter bottles when they're on sale, and fill up a small glass (so as not to drink so much). It satisfies my sweet tooth, and I'm not caving on the diet drinks because it's just a little. When I'm thirsty, I drink my water, but when I want something sweet, I drink a little of that. Anyone heard from Jamie, Jennay, Paula, Gran or Tannie? ![]()

Hi every one. Boy, you guys are flying. I am trying to keep up but I am still lagging behind. I had a few planed cheats yesterday.I have learned from the past that when I get sick it is better to give a few extra crabs. Its not the time to have my body eating itself. I ate a oatmeal cookie, and a child sized bowl of mac n cheese. I didnt even bother weighing this morning beacuse TOM showed up out of the blue. I thought it was in 2 weeks? Who knows! Things are getting better all the way around.
Give me a few days and I will be back to my go team, go , self!

HI everyone... I got home about 1:00 went to lay down was going to take a 15 minutes nap....lol.. I woke up at 4:00.... so much for the nap....
HI Christy so glad to see you... missed you while you were gone.... I not sure where everyone went..... Tannie hit her hundred pounds lost and I haven't seen her on the board anywhere.... I made the homemade icecream twice, I didn't have a problem with it... some people I guess get craving from different things.... Pooraggie, so glad you are feeling better... I too like the cream cheese muffins... I hear you can freeze them ok.. haven't tried it... I thought dh would like him but he didn't..... I like them with coffee in the morning.... but portion control with them is hard Laura are you going to do introduction for two weeks since you are doing atkins.... And don't fret over the 2 lbs.... alot of times when you get off plan, you gain water weight.... not really sure why this happens.... but, drink plenty of water and those 2 lbs should be gone in just a few short days..... Well, I drank a glass of water for breakfast this morning... mom picked up some donuts and i passed on them then on the way home we stopped at Pizza hut to eat..... I had 6 slices of sausage and cheese pizza without the bread (gotcha lol) and I made me a big salad with lettus, cheese, thousand island dressing and drank half of a diet pepsi.... and one sip of a regular pepsi.... thanks to the waiter ok, maybe to sips... for some reason my taste buds did't pick up the taste of it... dh pointed it out to me.... he had the regular one...... I don't drink alot of diet drinks... I usually stick to water with lemon when I go out add alittle sweet and low... Instant lemonade..... and if I am at home, I just drink sf lemonade koolade.... not sure what i am going to have for dinner.... nothing sounds good right now... so I am just drinking me a glass of water.... ![]()

Lisa, Bug, Tiffani, Jennifer, Dream, Penny: Thanks, ladies! The fact that I hit 65 lbs. is still surreal...Btw, Penny, what in the world happened that you're on Vicodyn? (sp?)
Christy: Hey, hon, if you're stalling, do something to shake it up - not give it up!!! I'm glad you're back! Now listen, babe: You know I stalled in August and it took some experimentation to figure out what to do...5 weeks' worth! I only dropped a little over 7 lbs last month, but all that tweaking was good for my metabolism. Kept it guessing and it also primed it up for a low-carb, low-fat session (which I'll start again shortly).MsTrudy: Welcome! Laura and Trudy: 20 carb grams isn't much, so you might want to consider 2 small (1 cup, unpacked) lettuce salads (plain) or topped with a few slices of cucumber, or just a few cups of low-carb veggies per day. There is a scant amt. of carbs in eggs, in tea, etc., so don't forget to look for the little buggers everywhere! I'm experimenting with cycling amts. of fats, proteins, and calories while keeping it low-carb. I do that to keep my metabolism on its toes! So...babes, since you asked, here are a few real examples from my various menus this past week, so you can see what 20 carbs or under looks like: Example 1: B: 2 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces lean Canadian bacon (12 oz. tea with a double dash of whipping cream, stevia) Drink: 12 oz. bottled water L: 5 oz. Valley Fresh chicken, 1 tbsp. Kraft’s Fat Free Ranch (1 SF Rock Star) S: 1 SF Jello Drink: (2) 12 oz. bottled water D: 2 pieces (2-3 oz.) thinly-sliced, skinless and boneless chicken breast, 1 cup fresh asparagus – both pan-fried in 1 tbsp. EVCO with seasonings (1 SF Rock Star) S: 1 SF Jello Totals: Cals: 935 Fats: 46 Carbs: 20 (total, not net) Proteins: 88 Example 2 B: 2 scrambled eggs, 1 piece Krakus Polish ham, ¼ cup Colby and Monterey Jack cheese, ½ tbsp. butter in PAM (12 oz. tea with 3 tbsp. half-n-half, stevia) Drinks: (2) 20 oz. bottles Fruit 2-0 L: 5 oz. Valley Fresh chicken, 1cup lettuce, 1 tbsp. Spectrum Essentials Enriched Flax Oil with Lignans and a few drops of lemon juice (1 SF Rock Star) Snack: 1 Sugar Free Jello D: 2 slices thin-sliced, boneless, skinless chicken breast and 1 cup fresh asparagus, sauted in 1 tbsp. EVCO (1 SF Rock Star) Snack: 1 Sugar Free Jello Totals: Calories: 1,094 Fats: 64 Carbs: 12 (total, not net) Proteins: 103 Example 3: B: 1 cup Egg Beaters mixed with 1 piece thinly-sliced Krakus Polish ham (shredded), sprinkled with salt, pepper, and oregano (cooked with Pam spray), topped with 1 tbsp. DaVinci’s SF Pancake Syrup (Drinks: 16 oz. Fruit 2-0 Hydration flavored 0 carb/0 cals water, plus 16 oz. SF Rock Star) Drink: 16 oz. bottled water, with vitamins L: 10 oz. Valley Fresh chicken, 1 tbsp. Kraft’s Fat-Free Ranch (16 oz. SF Rock Star) Snack: 1 SF Jello Drink: 16 oz. bottled water D: 2 pieces thinly-sliced chicken, dredged in egg and coated with parmesan cheese mixed with garlic powder and oregano (16 oz. bottled water), 1 cup fresh asparagus – all sauted in 1 tbsp. EVCO (16 oz. Rock Star) Snack: 1 SF Jello Drink: 16 oz. bottled water Totals: Water: 128 oz. Cals: 1024 Fats: 33 Carbs: 10 (total, not net) Proteins: 146

goodmorning All.....
Laura did you ever get fitday to come up...You can plan your day on there... puting in everything you eat and it will give you the total for the day, you can add , subtract from there Jennay so glad you are back.... We are all in this together and when someone doesn't show up they are missed.... don't fret over the 8 lbs....with the cheats, its more then likely water weight and will come right back off.... and plus since you were off plan for a few weeks, it might cause a shake up and start your metabolizn in full gear..... mstrudy have you tried fitday.com....... its a wonderful way to keep up with what you are eating till you get things going for you and its free, just have to sign up for it.... like I was telling Laura you can put all your foods in it for the day and find out what your carb count is for the day..... As for me, all my carbs come from vegetable..... I stick with mostly eggs and meat... and add a salad and some salad dressing.... last night, I made me some breakfast and had a piece of Lc Bread for toast, this is not exceptable of introduction..... but man was it good.... I haven't had bread in a very long time.... if bread is a trigger food for you, you can choose to eat it the last meal of your day and for me it doesn't set off those cravings |

everyone!Laura - so sorry I didn't get back in last night before I left work. you got the date 11/10 for the end of the 12 week challenge. Again, sorry didn't get back to you.Doing lots better this morning. Was able to walk the treadmill last night after dinner/cleaning up. I walked 1.5 miles on random 3 hills. that was a work out - did 30 minutes and it felt like an hour. It was a great workout! I was able to walk, cool down, take a shower and I hit the bed probably around 9pm. Finally, I got some sleep! ![]() I try not to jump on the scales during the week. I just try to weigh in on Saturday mornings but I got on this morning. Still maintaining at 302. Someone please open the door to the 200's please - I really want to get under 300 this Saturday. Everyone take care of you and I will check in throughout the morning.

Good morning. Laura and Mstrudy- Here are a few web sites with induction menus and recipes. But basically just eat all the meat and eggs that you need to be full (try not to habitually eat like I use to) hehe...You can have 3-4 oz of cheese a day. Get your 20 grams or less mostly from green leafy veggies and then a little low carb veggies. Here is a list of veggies and carb content. Atkins - Carb Counter They suggest you stay on induction for 2 weeks but if you have a lot of weight to lose they say you can stay for as long as 6 months. I went 4 weeks on induction because I had/have a bad sugar addiction. I wanted to break it, and it worked. So basically, I ate meat (tried to stay away from lunch meats and hot dogs because of nitrates) but a hot dog is a quick way to get a snack. I had eggs fried in real butter or hard boiled eggs for snacks. Once a day, usually at supper with the family, I would have a salad. I used romaine and then very low carb veggies like broccoli and cauliflower, peppers and mushrooms. I would add my meat and cheese here. I usually used olive oil and lemon juice for a dressing and added garlic. That is just a sample and you can add your own favorites and varieties and modify it to fit your needs and bodies wants. Really look for hidden carbs, some hot dogs and bacon, have sugar added. I found the cheaper hot dogs (yuk) had lower carbs. Don't forget to try to take supplements...a good multi-vitamin (you might want to look for one without iron, know what I mean?) Take a calcium supplement (or 2-3) with magnesium and D. Most women are deficient in Magnesium. On the following web site, the recipes with * after them are fit for induction phase. Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home Here is another link. I put you on the page for induction recipes, but other pages have more. Induction : LowCarbCooking.org Here is a good site for beginners. She has great advice, rules and menus. A BEGINNERS' GUIDE TO LOWCARBING Hope this helps. Just a suggestion...if you have a bad sugar addiction like me, you might want to stay away from sweetners and sweet LC food like sf at first. I had to other wise that would be all I would eat. I had a glass of diet soda when I needed something sweet. But I had it BAD. I remember there were months where most of the food I ate was junk food. But you know yourselves and what you need. And lastly but certainly first. Pray. I realized I couldn't do this. I have tried so many times before. I literally put it in God's hands. He will have me lose as much or as little as He wants. And He is testing my faith. Try to put Him in the Pilot seat and you co-pilot! Seriously. ![]() |
