intheprocess...Are you talking about that real good ice cream recipe? Yummy. Tastes better than the real thing. Hopefully TOM won't be at my house for very much longer.
Kicking him out... what time to you get off? Where do you work?I am grading schoolwork from today still. We home school and started full force this week. Then I will have to play my usually game of two of internet spades. OK I play til me and my partner win a game. |

Quick question????
Is there any particular meat that I shouldn't be eating a lot of? Right now I have been boiling a chicken and then adding some eggs to the broth for soup kinda like egg drop soup. I take all the skin off after the cooking and then let the broth cool to get the extra grease off the top. Ohhh and some talipia fish that I got in 4 oz freezer packages super cheap @ .99 per LB I'm trying not to eat lunch meats because of the salt content. I just bought some ground pork and turkey, and a couple Lamb chops (cuz they were on sale woot! woot!) Other than that I eat a lot of tuna, because I feel safe with that, and I'm not bored with it yet. I haven't started eating veggies yet, just the protein and under 20 daily carbs. Any suggestions or advice or anything really?

I can't eat tuna any more...makes me sick. I ate some cheap tuna b4 and tasted nasty. Ever since then, I can't eat it any more...I suppose if I eat too many eggs I will get sick of them too.

Tiffani ~ I work at a hotel, I'm the assistant manager. I'll be here until at least midnight. Today is a slow day. Can you tell from all my posting??
![]() ![]() HAHA I remember being a TA in high school and grading papers. Is it bad that I would automatically give people I knew good grades???? ![]() And ohhh YES it's THAT ice cream. I haven't had/made it before and I just want to have the ingredients on hand for my boyfriend TOM! Cause he's not gonna get me down. I got 15 cans of tuna the other day for 4.98 the Bumble Bee kind. It's pretty good. Last edited by InTheProcess : 09-04-2007 at 08:51 PM. |

I can't think of any meat that shouldn't be eaten. Maybe meat from China, but besides that... Chicken works good for me too.
I thought it was a hotel. Just because of the hours and time to type!! Hello Pooraggiemom- congrats again to ONEDERLAND. That is so cool!! |

I am going to get up early tomorrow and do the Yoga Fussion video. Then walk. Good news, I talked to my dad, he has a treadmill that he doesn't use and said I could use it for a while. So I am getting it this weekend. Can't wait. Don't know what all it can do yet, but probably a good one since it's less than 3 years old. And knowing my dad, it had to be cream of the crop. I think I need to stop using metaphors and similes with food in them, at least good food.
Laura- i hope you are doing better, girl. Hang in there. This too shall pass. You can do it. Take everyone's advice and then put them into perspective for your own personal agenda. Some will work for you and some won't. But you'll know either right away or by trial and err. Just don't give up...we are here for you and each other. Wednesday will be a better day. I can feel it.

If you're craving something sweet, maybe try some s/f jello or coffee or hot tea with an extra Splenda. Sometimes that can take the edge off, especially during TOM. And Tiffani's right about getting enough protein & also vitamins & minerals. A friend told me that chocolate cravings are caused by lack of magnesium of all things! You're new to this so your cravings aren't gone yet, but soon they'll go away & you won't even think about sugar. The magic of low carb Good for you for getting right back on the wagon! ![]() I've been there more times that I can possibly count. It's some infinite number that hasn't even been discovered yet ![]() Enjoy your treadmill! I mine!Oh, & I'm a dork because I really thought you ate bugs! Then I realized it was the whole losing with bugs the poster challenge ![]() ![]() The only meat I would limit are processed meats - sausage, cold cuts (except Boar's Head), hot dogs because of the preservatives. But don't overeat any meat - just till you're satisfied. You can always get more if you get hungry again. And eat your veggies - they're good for you & that's where the bulk of your carbs should come from. |

, yes I think we all have been there.... I still go there...lolI find that the journey has been a learning experience.. we learn everyday, what works, what doesn't work..... yes we cheat, we eat off plan, we get back on our diet and we lose some more.... then we cheat again, gain a few pounds....heck its like a roller coaster most of the time.... one thing that has really helped me is starting a journal.... I have one of here... and if I go back and re-read it, I have wonderful day,s then bad days.... days I feel like a total failure.... some days I just don't make it...... Laura you have to look at the whole picture, not just today.... if you continue on your diet you will loss.... it might be slow at times, it might be fast at time... there might be times you have a wonderful whoosh ( thats several pounds overnight) I think we all have had them sometimes along the way.... don't plan to lose it all at one time.... isn't that the mind set we all get at first... we want to lose it quick, quicker.....Instead set up mini goals..... my first goal for me was to reach 350... ok, I been there a few times now.....lol... but my next goal is 299.... but I also reach for mini goal..... like say I want to lose 8 to 10 lbs this month..... if you by pass that, what a wonderful feeling that will be.... don't rely so much on the scales... they don't tell the whole picture.... do something positive for yourself everyday....take a walk.... it doesn't have to be 6 miles.... start with 1/2 mile build up... make mini goals out of that... get you some of those work out tapes, I even have a belly dancing tape, ![]() ![]() ok laugh its a funny site a 300 lb plus woman belly dancing... but its fun....thats just it find something fun to do, something that is burning caloires along the way...... alot of people say, I didn't exercises and lost weight... and I know you can do that.... but the exercise is going to make you feel so much better, plus its going to make your cloth get so much looser.... like I said to you the other day.... Measure, measure, measure.... especially if you are discourage with the scales..... and remember if you are doing the diet then you are burning fat.... so if you are not losing weight, you are losing inches..... I hope I said something that makes you feel alittle better.... nothing worse then being down on yourself.... but realize you don't have to be.... you are still young on the low carb thing and still learning...... hang in there, it will get better ![]()

did you know you can take shredded cheese and put it on a piece of wax paper in little piles and cook it in the mircowave for about a minute and its makes cheese crackers.... yummy also for a treat... I get low carb chili... canteberry makes one that is very low carb... its a hot dog chili.... I get the bryan hot dogs and heat them, put the chili on top alittle mustard and some cheese.... never miss the bun..... also i like to cook hamburger patties and put alittle ketchup on top and eat a pickle with it..... have you tried the revolution rolls... they are low carb, if you go to the top to search and type it in, or go to the recipe rooms you can find it... alot of people make buns out of them and use that to make a hamburger..... they are introduction friendly.... I am still in tennessee, and don't have the recipe with me.... or i would just post it.... |

Hey, everybody: The thread is moving too fast for me to catch up with everything! Just wanted to say HI and report in:
Although I started on a Thursday (May 3), Sept. 3 marked my 4th month (tomorrow will be Day 1 of Week 19) of low-carbing. Today I hit one of my goals: 65 lbs. off this body - forever! I am patting myself on the back, once for each month I have been on plan. I'm very happy that, even with my slower-months of June and August, my avg. weekly wt. loss is about 3.5 lbs.![]() I'm just hoping that the averages remain a constant, so that I will see the 100 lb. mark by the end of 2007, and perhaps report final goal by Easter 2008! Have a beautiful September day, everyone! ![]()

Jennifer, I brought a bunch of flavor coffees when I first started... they do help.... I have hazel nut, chocolate mocha, double dutch chocolate, irish cream.... you can make a ice coffee out of that too.... add alittle heavy cream ( mixed up with splenda) yum,yum
I showed my brother last night how to make the icecream.... he couldn't get over it.... by accident he use half and half instead of heavy cream... but he said it still tasted good.... Well, now that I think I have caught up on here.... I will tell you about my afternoon yesterday.... I did good Dh when we got to huntsville, was hungry and I knew he was going to want to go and eat chienese..... so we did... I thought about cheating, I really did... but I look over everything and went and got half of a plate of chicken and brocolli and then the other half, pepper shrimp in vegetables... and got me a bowl of egg drop soup... drank water... i walked out of there so proud of myself.... I don't know how many times Dh said.... try this, and this and this.... and I just would say, can't have it, can't have it, can't have it..... as he was finishing up, I went to the ladies room, came back he had almond cookies and ice cream.... he looked at me and said, you can't have this either...lol.... I felt like slapping him... ok, just kidding... but geez.... you would think by now he would know what I can have and not have.... Got to love him.... just wish he would quit trying to feed me all the time.... today will be another test for sure.... i know we will eat somewhere..... just not sure yet... maybe ryans.... there I can get salad and cut me up some chicken to go on top of it...... got to be strong.... I am looking for another loss in the morning, so I must be good....... I would like to be back to where i was before vacation, that way i would have 30 lbs to go before November 10 to reach my goal..... ok, I guess I need to be getting off of here.... .i think I am going to go and lay back down on the couch and get another few minutes of sleep.... so tired this Am.... I will be back home around 2 at the lastest..... have a great day everyone! ![]() |

everyone! Having a slow morning. Didn't get home last night until after 2am from the 2nd and back at my day job this morning at 8am. Thank goodness I'm off tonight. I am running SLOW. Not sure if I'm going to walk tonight or not - I am tired. Tiffani - thanks for the support - I’m really needing it today. SMILE. My boys are a handful. They get into everything and you should see/hear them running through the house. I wouldn’t give them up for the world. They are my ‘sons’ since we can’t have real children. Mstrudy - - the more the merrier. Jump in with both feet and take off. We are all here for you! These are some of the best new friends you could ever have!Kbetz - honey. I hope you get to feeling better soon - real soon. You have had your hands so full lately. Please take care of you - we worry about you! Laura - Hang in there! We all have our down days and slip. I slipped some Sunday. It happens. This is called life. We are not perfect. You slip, you get right back on it, figure out why you did it and try to do better. Come here - we will give you support . You are human - hang in there!! We will make it. Oh and Laura - I’m bugs. HEE HEE. I made a mini personal goal for myself to lose 60 pounds in 12 weeks. A few of us have joined together to give each inspiration in losing what they want in the same period. It has really been helpful in making little goals every week and the encouragement from everyone is out of this world! My goal of 60 pounds is excessive - must people are doing 30. I’m pushing myself to the max. I have a doctor’s appointment in 12 weeks and I really want to be down. Shauna - - I have a hard time with eggs too . I just can not eat them. I always work around them. Divine Miss M - WTG on the weigh lost! You are the woman! Everyone have a great morning. I will be checking in shortly. Just to let everyone know - this is just me but I have to say it. I have noticed that my lower back tattoo is looking pretty darn cute these days with some of the excess fat coming off in that area. Walking is doing wonders to it. Can't wait to get slim and start showing it! ![]()

Good morning to all!!
Bugs-- cheer up!! Is it just about the dieting or are you not feeling good, or is it something else that is bothering you? Get it out if you want to. We are here for you. I am doing much better now that TOM is almost over, but I was miserable for a while. Feeling like I did when I first started right now. I'm trying to go with that and I would like to lose 5 pounds this week if not though 3 is my weekly goal. Hang in there Chick. This too shall pass. |

GO DIVINE, GO DIVINE, GO DIVINE!! Now that is awesome and very encouraging to the rest of us...Laura, check this out. Miss Divine is a real inspiration. And she is also a very knowledgable person to talk to about LCing. I am sure she could help with any questions you might have.
Divine- you rock!! Morning Mstrudy.. uh oh...please forgive me if I have been writing MstURdy instead of MstRUdy...oops. How are you doing today. I am fairly new here too. At least I consider myself new. I have so learned a lot from these ladies. If you have any questions, ask away. I don't know much yet, but there is a tremendous amount of info given freely here. So Ask and gripe and pray here with us. |

DH is (slightly) allergic too, but he's fine as long as he washes his hands after petting her. Those coffees sound good & I'll bet they hit the spot. I never liked flavored coffee until I tried s/f syrup. Now coffee tastes plain without it ![]() Great job at the Chinese buffet! That is one of my many weaknesses!Have a good trip home.
