thanks for all the encouragement guys!!!

I really am doing great the last 2 days!!!

For a while I tried just eating kinda low calorie and didnt worry that much about carbs..........well, I was ONCE AGAIN reminded of why that doesnt work for me!!! Once I start eating sugar and other carbs......I just CANT ration myself! It's crazy!! My body just NEEDS to eat lowcarb....Ive finally realized that.

So the past 2 days have been great. Ive had eggs for breakfast, salads for lunch and grilled ckn for dinner and diced cheese for snacks (I like to dip the cheese into spicey brown mustard

BUT, now for the bad news......... My scale stopped working.....so I had to get a new one this past week....well I hopped on today and I weighed 284 One pound more than I did when I started! I know I havent gained that much (my boyfriend says I look smaller and my clothes are looser) but now my numbers are all messed up I guess my first scale was just wrong .

Ive decided that I WILL NOT be discouraged. I WILL be close to my goal by my graduation date next May....I'm just sorry that my numbers being messing up will affect you guys I'm sorry. I'll work my butt off from here on out....sorry to mess this month up

Hey All,

Joyful ... thanks for getting the new thread started. The team leader banner is yours once again! Welcome back!

Never ... just start where you are and don't look back. What matters is that you are still a part of this team and still plan to work on getting that weight off. My last month wasn't the greatest either. My weight loss has slowed down each check-in ... this time I got 0 weight loss. I weigh too much not to be able to show a loss after 2 weeks, so I know I'm not doing something right. I think things will be easier once I am back on a schedule again.

Joyful is being the model for our team. She's stuck to plan throughout all of the things she's done and her busy schedule. If we follow her lead, we'll be just fine.

Don't worry Muse, your weight loss will pick up. I think something that works for me sometimes is changing my thinking. Instead of thinking "What am I allowed to eat" I try to think "What can I eat that will help me lose weight fastest". Not that it is about losing weight fast..but when I see loss it motivates me to keep going. That's how I try to look at food. I mean, techically we could eat fruit and lots of nuts or yogurt, and those are all healthy, but eating protein will help us lose alot faster.

Things are still going well for me this week. I've been back on induction levels and have stuck to it 100% so far!

today went really well. Hanging in there and staying on my induction levels.

Joyful, I know you'll get your 'game face' back on! Just think about how much fun youll have on a cruise once you have the confidence that you are doing the best for your body!

hey girls! Just wanted to check in and see how you are both doing. I weighed myself today and I'm at 278.5 which lets me know I'm on the right path because on the 31st I was 284....so I'm getting there! Little by little!

I can actually tell that I am FULLY in this now. I'm not even craving carbs anymore and I'm really setting goals now. I think I'm finally back in my 'weight loss state of mind'. Once I get there I'm pretty resolved and do well. It's just taken me months to get there!

So....how about some meal ideas? I'm trying to cook more.....so let me know some of your favs.

Hi All!

It's been a while since I've checked in ... been kinda busy with the start of school. I'm glad to hear that you are both taking off some pounds. I haven't been on the scale, but my clothes are fitting more loosely and it takes a lot less for me to get full. I know that my stomach is shrinking (at least on the inside!).

I like to do batches of food that I can heat up. I don't like to cook during the week, and if I know I have something in the fridge I will come straight home. It's still a little too hot here for me to do soups and stews (that is a mainstay for me in the winter). I tend to eat a lot of stir fry. I like to see lots of colors mixed together, eat lots of veggies, and it always tastes better a couple of days later. It's also a great way to get rid of the little bits of extra meat without being tempted to make a sandwich.

I also like to make spaghetti with ground turkey. Instead of the pasta noodles, I use the chinese yam noodles. Because they are almost 100% fiber, they have almost no carbs or calories. To me, they taste the same but a little more chewy. You have to rinse them first, then cook a little of the water out (otherwise your sauce gets watery), but they are very good.

If you like pork, you can make an easy egg foo young. Chop up bean sprouts (I use the finely shredded cabbage), mix with a little teryaki sauce and smoked meat that you shred or finely chop (the recipe I got called for pulled pork, but I preferred chicken). You make a little ball a little bigger than a golf ball and put it in a skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Once it gets warm and starts to brown at the edges, You mix 2- scrambled eggs and pour it over the top slowly, letting it filter through the patty, using the cooked egg to hold the rest together. The egg will cook on the bottom, then you flip it over. Two or 3 of these make a meal. They also reheat well in the microwave. They taste the best the next day.

I don't measure a lot ... I just eyeball things until it looks all right to me.

More later!

Hey Teamies! Just checking in , I am finally back on track , had a good day yesterday , My resolve is back. Shell , you are right about wanting to look and feel good by my next cruise.

Muse~ that sounds like a great recipe that I will have to try. I dont measure much either . Of course If I stop losing I will have to make sure I am not fudging on portions LOL. I want to be in onderland so bad. This is the month that I will make it happen and most importantly KEEP it off.

Hiya

Just popping in to say hello and show encouragement. Since the rest of my team seems to have dissolved into thin air, I'm just wandering around to each of the threads and seeing where I might fit in.

Hi Deb!

You are welcome here if you wish! I haven't been online a whole lot because I am a teacher and have been working extra hours because of the start of the new school year. Now that things are starting to get going, I will be able to be online more.

Welcome aboard!

Hi everyone!

Joyful, I have to say that I'm proud of you for hanging in there. Considering the events of the last month, you're doing very well. Time to get yourself re-focused and shave off that weight you put on. It went on fast - it can come off just as fast.

I'm worried that NeveraGain hasn't checked in with us or the main thread. She didn't send in her stats for the middle of the month. Have you heard from her?

I haven't heard anything more from Dvanbeus either. She was doing so well staying at a minimal gain! I was looking forward to getting some encouraging words from her. She seems like a bundle of energy.

I seriously considered closing the challenge because of the amount of dropout, but I want to be fair to those people who are trying to stick it out. It's hard to see people give up.

Hi!

ladies!

smartmuse - Would you consider combining the remaining participants and continuing the challenge that way? Individuals instead of team.
