***Losing 100 in 2007 *** Week of Aug 27-Sept 2

Morning everyone! I thought I would start the thread this week. I didn't see another one started yet.
to everyone for another week down. I was looking over last weeks messages.
Divine Miss M - you go girl! Congrats on the weight loss. You are so full of information and I find your comments so encouraging and educational.
Jennaysteele - I think people have no idea sometimes on sizes vs weight and it really doesn't make sense with all of these new styles out and the way clothes fit differently.
PoorAggieMom - Congratulations on your onderland!!
Kbetz - I'm glad your son is home and everything went okay. You hang in there with eating right. Things will get better!

I did weight in on Saturday. I met goal. I'm officially down to 307. I have another 5 pound goal this week and hopefully by 09/08/2007 - I want to be under 300!

I hope everyone has a happy Monday. I will check in later!

Bug Congrats! Great loss!

My kids are off to school! WOOHOO!

Poor ds was near vomiting and tearing up. He was not a happy camper this morning. I am hoping (and praying) that once his first day is over, he'll enjoy it. He's in a new school (5th & 6th are separate in our district), and has 8 or 9 periods...big change from 4th grade.

Cross your fingers for him! Strangely enough my 2nd grader who is usually clingy, went off to her classroom with no qualms.

Bug - Thanks for starting the thread. And congrats on reaching your mini goal!

DMM - Have I told you lately how much you are appreciated? Once again, I tried one of your suggestions (from low back to low carb) and it kick started me to losing again! Thanks so much!

Kbetz - hope the little ones are better soon. With all the stress you've been through, don't beat yourself up about gaining. Once things return to normal, you'll be back to losing.

Dream - thanks so much! What would I do without your encouragement?

Jennay - Maybe your friend didn't realize you were in a size 10. I'm only a couple of pounds behind you, and 14s are still too tight to wear comfortably. Don't let it upset you. You're doing great!

Paula - Awww...I hope your little boy does okay today. My daughter still throws up the week before classes resume!

Jamie - I can't wait to hear the comments on your first day at school!

Lisa - When do you get back? I miss ya!

Hey ladies:

I have the day off today. I was going to go to the gym, but alas, I stayed home in the cool quiet an read a book for about 2 hours. Getting ready to take DD2 clothes shopping for school. Hope to hit the gym tonight.

Paula: I'm sure DS will love school. I never got tears with my kids, but then again, they were daycare kids and used to being with other kids since they were very young, and used to being with older kids, so no apprehensiveness in attending middle or high school.

Thanks for starting the new thread Bug.

Divine, you are so rite. Its funny reading your last post to me, it was like hearing the voice in my head in a few years. I used to keep a spotless house and now when some one walks in my door, I just say welcome to the kids house. If my house is spotlessly clean and I have 4 kids, 8 and under than some ones getting neglected. I did start doing lesly sampsons, 4 mile, walk a way the pounds. I can do the first 2 miles and plan to add a mile a week. I have done it the last 2 days. I am still planing on walkingto get the kids from school in the pm, ( 2 miles round trip), but my 3 Y/O is not doing well at all. He is lucky if he can get off the sofa for more than 10 minutes. he is on codein every 3 hours. I never would have thought he would get this done. As far diet I think I was trying to sabotuze SP? my self. Why do we do that, we know what works. Any way, to day I am back on track and my breath smells BAD!.First time in awhile!

Bug- wahoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bug lost 5 pounds. You did it. Wow, So wonderful.

Paula- Its party time, the kids are gone. So are you going to pant your toes nails or finger nails first. LOL

Penny- It sound like things have calmed down for you. Have they? I love Mondays around here.

Jenifer- I have dibs first. You can wish all you want but untill I get my woosh she is staying with me. HEE HEE

Dream I hope you find some great deals. I need to go shopping for my 1 YO he is growing like a moose. He is wearing the same size as my 3YO ( than again hes a peanut) I'll add a few things and they can just share.

Lisa, we miss you.

Hey everyone
Feeling a little slow this morning. Didn't walk yet today. I had such a horrible sleepless night that I'm just trying to get through the day. If I get home early enough from my second job, I will walk then. If not, I will hit it in the morning. Jobs are just a little busy and throw in life from home -

Hope everyone is doing well. Everyone hang in there!

Bug - I dont know if you normally have times when you cant sleep. But I have noticed that when I am looseing rapidly( dosen't happen enough if you ask me LOL) I cant sleep. Last month I had 2 weeks straight were I wasnt able to get more than3 hours a night. I was tired all day and of course I didnt rest during the day. When it was time to go to sleep I got a sudden burst of energy and could not sleep. I eventually had to start getting up at 3:30 am so I would be tired at 11pm. After about 3 nights off doing this I was able to feel tired at 11:00pm and I didnt set the alarm. Now I am back on a 11- 7 sleep cycle. Weight loss was the only think I could figure to be causeing it. Hopefull you wont go this far but if he do, try what I did.

Kbetz - No, and keeping things inside have resulted in ulcers in my mouth! So I've taken massive quantities of chill pills and keeping myself heavily sedated so I don't run naked through the streets! But every time I think I'm overwhelmed, I just come here and listen to you or Bug, and my worries seem trivial!

Denise - Did you get your kids all set in school?

Dream - How did you get a day off? On this assignment, we work 9/80s, and Friday is my day off. With the holiday on Monday, I'm READY for a four day weekend!

Jamie - I'm still waiting on an update on the first day of school!

Jennay - How are you liking your new position?

Jennifer - Steer clear of the Katy freeway. I can't even go to lunch without getting caught in traffic!

When is Lisa supposed to be back? And where are Tannie and Gran?

Penny- Its funny you saw listen to me or bug. I can't speak for bug, but I sometimes forget that I don't have the normal life. I have gotten so used to life being this way that I couldn't imagine life not being this way. I think I might actually get board if life was "normal".

I have had people say things like" well you ARE DONE adopting, rite? The answer is more than likely yes. It is amazing what you can do when you know you have to do it. You learn to hold your own hand when theres no one there to hold it for you. I have been kicking around the idea of going back and finish my degree, or even something different. I stoped half way threw spring of 2006. At the time I had only 4 more classes and a intern ship left. My major was social work. ( assoc. degree). I used to be a nurse aid, and I have worked in daycares. I may persue a teaching degree or a assoc. in nurseing ( RN) I know I cant work for a looooong while, but I d like to finish something. I have spent the last 10 years ( my adult life) carring from some one else. Dont get me wrong I wouldnt change a thing. I had been plugging away at that degree for 4 years. I only went part time. Some times I worry what I would do if my husband wasnt able to work or worse. Could I support 4 children? I used to work but I didnt make enough to do it alone. We have everything covered for the what if, but it is still never enough. Any way, I think I may see how the kiddos are doing in the spring ,and I may take 1 class.

I'm feeling a little better - just drained. Hoping I can walk tonight but we will see what time I get home from my 2nd job. Right now I just thinking about going to my 2nd job - I hope I don't fall asleep keying items tonight.
I will try the suggestion if this keeps up for a couple of days. I think I've just gotten myself to the point of exhaustion. Everyone take care!

well ladies, I think I may be seeing a woosh soon. It might just be 2 pounds, but I dont care. I am not hungry, and have been sweating my booty off. After last months electric bill, Im toughing in out. I have cleaned and oraganized everything I could get my hands on today. 3 Y/O is still laying around. 1 y/O goes in on thursday. I was hopeing he will have been up and running but I dont know. My 8 Y/O got a cut from the side of his eye clear back to his ear. Its not to bad but I was not thrilled. The school says the 2 boys bumped heads and mine fell. My son dissagrees.
Tonight for dinner I am haveing chicken , green peppers, cooked in olive oil w tamato basil seasoning, cucumbers and fetta cheese all over a bed of lettuce. Ranch dressing to top it.mmmmmmmmm I cant wait till DH walks in the door. The kids are haveing whole weat pasta, broc, and cheese.

welcome back Lisa, Please remeber when you weigh in the morning and you have the thought of throwing the scale threw the window, DONT! 1st off window are expensive, and 2nd the fact that you have walked so much and ate a bit off plan, means you might be retaining water. Then again maybe you lost. You might even wait a few days or atleast not make it a big deal. Best wishes, and you were missed.

thanks Kbetz.... I might not like what the scales say in the morning ( I have talking scales!) but, I will take it.... I knew there was a good chance that I would not eat on plan all week, so I am ready for what ever it says to me..... I am just ready to get back to lowcarbing.... i know the next few days, might not be very good... ( introduction flu) but, I am ready for it too.... I am just wanting to get back into routine of losing and make my November 10th goal....be back later

Welcome back Lisa. Sounds like you had a wonderful vacation.

Penny: I had to grab two days off when I could. I'm off today too. I had oriignally scheduled the entire week off but my boss decided to take his vacation the same time and since we both can't be gone at the same time, I had to give up mine. I didn't mind though because he NEVER goes on vacation. I just wish he would have been a little more considerate when he scheduled his because he didn't even look to see that I already had the week scheduled off. Another person in our office (my counterpart) had a long vacation and so I couldn't schedule any time off while she was gone. Next year I'm going to schedule a beach house for the family so there's no way I will be able to cancel and to bad for everyone else. We didn't schedule a big vacation this year because of the wedding.

Kbetz: Hope you do get your whoosh. Ha, what's a clean house? I do what I can, but can't seem to keep up. It was tough when the kids were small, but it seems the bigger they get the more piggy they get. People just have to understand that's the way its going to be. I work full time so when you are torn in several different directions, the house cleaning has to wait.

Jen, hope you see the whoosh fairy soon too! The whoosh fairy hasn't been on the west coast for quite a while. I thnk she's gone on strike.

Hi everyone else. It's back to work for me tomorrow. I did more school shopping for the kids today and cooking for my group. We meet once a month for a LC potluck and walk. I made crustless mexican quiche and creamcheese muffins. Yummy. No loss to report, but what else is new.

Lisa, I have no doubt that you will make your goal. I know you can do it. Maybe the worst of the heat is gone so your inducion flu might be easier. I am in such a deep state of keto, I am wondering if it is actually to deep. The thought of eating makes me want to get sick. Today I fried up some chicken and I forced my self to eat it. At first I was like hmm, taste ok. I can get it down if I chew fast. Then it got real chewy. I looked at it and it was raw in the middle. aww yuck. It was a chicken strip so I was bitting pieces off as I dipped it in ranch. Dinner was great, I made sure the chicken was well done this time.

Dream- I know what you mean about people haveing to just understand. We have an average between social workers, adoption workers, guarden at lightems, 3 therapist and whom every else stops by, at least 2 visiters a week. some call ahead and some don't. I make sure the house is freshly swept and the living room dusted atleast, dishes done, toys piled in the corner but other than that , we live here. If they show up un announced then I just kick the toys aside to make a path to walk. Our house is lived in. My mother and I never saw eye to eye on this. When we all lived together ,she expected me to not only sweep everday( I do do it every day any way, some times more than once), but she wanted me to mop the floors, dust, the whole house, scrub the bath room and heaven for bid the dish washer not get run every time a dish went into it. What a waste of time and water. Don't get me wrong. I scrub my bath room 1-2 times a week and I spray the shower down every night after baths. Because I have little one I use disenfectant wipes2 X a day on the sink and tolet, but I am not on my hands and knees every day.

I got so much done today, I even mowed my yard and trimed my neigbors bushes and trees that have taken over my drive. I wish they would do it.

I ll be back latter I have to help with homework

Good morning, everybody! Well, last night my youngest stepped on a nail in the neighbor's grass...went right thru his shoe and barely pierced his foot...BUT I'm stressing since he never had a tetanus shot. I went searching on the net and discovered tetanus can show up within 3 days, even from tiny wounds! So I'm up and waiting to call the doctor's office asap this morning...the little guy will have to get that shot today!

My digital is being weird. First it showed another 1 lb. down...an hour later it was .8, and at 6 a.m. it showed a .4 gain. (???) I'm not going to sweat it. It's probably an exercise gain, since I kicked my own rear end with exercise yesterday, and - whew - am I feeling it.

Bug and Penny: Thanks so much for the sweet words! I'm glad someone finds all my tinkering around helpful.

Kbetz: Oh, gosh, you remind me so much of myself, not too long ago! It was ALWAYS something!!! And, hey, like the question you get about being finished with adoption, I started getting that 20 yo ago - the very second our daughter (child #3) was born. Then when the 4th (a son) came along, the general attitude was, "Don't you know what causes that?" I learned to laugh and say, "Absolutely!" topped off with a wicked grin and a wink!

By the time 5 and 6 came along, most of those ridiculous remarks had stopped. (I think those people gave us up as a lost cause.) I don't understand people's attitudes toward children, but neither do I ask rude questions about why they have only 1 or 2 since it's none of my business. Anyway... Big families were the norm until the last generation, and my view was - We take good care of our children, so don't ask me why we're having another one.

On the upside, now that we're older and the kids are growing into very nice people, total strangers actually give us compliments on having a "beautiful" family! So you never know.

divine- I didnt know you had . Wow you are truly my hero now. I am short on time this morning but I wanted to throw a laugh your way. We to have had people ask" dont you know how to prevent that? My husband says" ya , but when your good, your good! Or practice makes perfect. I think the meanest thing we ever had some one say was when a guy told my husband that I needed to swallow more. ( gee, I wonder what he ment) LOL {sorry not ment to offend any one.}
we dont avertise that half of them are adopted. But it does look like I have been preg 4 times in 8 years. My poor SIL has 12 total ranging from 3-21. Diffrent ages and diffrent races. I wont tell you the things she has heard.

I have to take my DD to her real first day of kindergarten and my 3Y/O is going to miss his first day. He still is in so much pain. He wants to go, but I know what will happen.

I'll be around today if anyone wants to keep me company.

Lisa, I just saw your post and I will be back soon. Beware of curves.

I have a membership I pay 40 a month for and I hate it. There concept is good , but I didnt get much out of the circuit they use. By the time I got to the next station it was almost time to move again. They also cut there hours back and I cant make it in. Alot of people like it and I'm sure some are much better than others, but check and see if they offer a 3 month instead of a year. It might cost a few $ more, but it gives you a chance to really see. I have actually put a home gym in my basement. I have a weight machine and an eliptical. I also use lesly samposons walk away the pounds. The 2 miles takes me 30 minutes and they rotate threw diffrent activities. To me it had the same concepts but I didnt have to actually jump from machine or recovery station to jog in place. Sorry to be so short, I got to fly the kids to school be back soon

Good morning everyone!
I'm not as tired this morning but still dragging a little. The clock went off this morning at 6AM for me to get up and walk and I thought nah I'll wait until tonight so I hit the snooze button. Well, I woke up a little bit later and it was day light. Looked at the clock and it was 7:15AM - I have to be at work by 8AM Did the marathon in getting ready, ran to a local coffee shop on the way to work and drove up at 8:01AM. WOW - my morning is already fizzled!

I must walk tonight - I will walk tonight. I have to admit I jumped on the scale this morning and I'm only 5 pounds from being under 300 That's not official of course because I don't really count weigh ins during the week - just on Saturday mornings but wow that would be so great to be under 300. I can't tell you the last time!

I might add and let everyone know that I am actually wearing a size 26 jean today Not bad, huh. I'm feeling really good about that. Must.keep.up.the.good.work. Everyone with me now, "We must all keep up the good work!" Now, pat yourself on the backs -

KBETZ - When you get done cleaning your house, call me and come over. Remember honey, I work two jobs and have 2 boys at home. I hit it when I can I'm actually going to take a week off the week of Halloween and fall sweep my house and try to get some things cleaned up and purged. Yeah, that's going to be fun.

INTHEPROCESS - There's always room for more. Jump in with both feet and take off running.

MYCATTAZ - I'm so glad you are back. You were missed! Glad you had a great time - tell us some highlights when you get a moment. I have to live through you! PS - I just read your post - you'll get it off - don't stress over it!! HUGS

DREAMCOMETRU - Sorry to hear about your vacation plans. When you schedule that beach house next year, keep us in mind. I don't eat much and I pack really light!

Everyone have a great day!

Kbetz - Wow! I wish I had your energy! Between assignments, I try to give my place a good cleaning. I may do it again this weekend because I'll be off for four days. But just laying on the couch sounds great to me!

Bug - How are ya? I hope you're able to get some rest!

InTheProcess -

DMM - I'm up a pound too, but I've been climbing the stairs and walking quite a bit. But I had to stop wearing my size 18 skirts. Although they were comfortable, I could take them off without unzipping them, and I was worried they might just fall off one day! I wore a size 16 yesterday, and it was quite comfortable! The last time I wore it was two years ago, and I wore a long top over it so as not to reveal the fact that it wasn't zipped up all the way! Now I have my sights on the 14s. I can zip them up, but they're still too tight to wear to work.

Lisa - Welcome back, my LC friend! I've missed you! No worries about the gain. We both know that you'll lose it in no time. We're in this for the long haul. There are going to be instances where we just have no other alternatives. I had to switch back to regular low carbing because I'm having trouble coming up with Kimkins choices at lunch.

Guess what? I was digging through my drawers and closets, trying on smaller sizes that I haven't been able to wear, and I tried on some Victoria's Secret panties and they fit! Woo-hoo! Too bad I threw all the rest of them away because they were too small! Guess I'll have to go panties shopping!

Kbetz, thanks for the information on curves.... I am not sure if I will be able to do any of the machines...... I might just stick to walking 30 minutes a day.....

Bugs- the trip was fun... Oh! I see 3 bears, one mama and two cubs in the woods... going over the mountain from gatlinburg to cherokee Nc..... the cub were so cute..... We stop the car and looked at them for just a few minutes the little ones turn and went back into the woods..... also seen two elk... and a coyetty or wofe or something walking along the side of the rode that night when driving back to gatlinburg......

Me and Dh had a wonderful time walking up and down the rodes there..... we walked till I couldn't walk no more....

While gone we also brought us a pop up camper, so I guess we will be going camping now... and dh traded his race car for a bass boat yesterday, so he is in Hog heaven.....

As for my weight I knew I was going to be up.... Not stressing here over it.... I just know I got to get back on plan today.... and stick it out till I am back into ketosis.... I will probably lose big this week, mostly water weight..... but I will take it will be good to get back down to 344 quick..

will be back later

I am wearing a size 3x and 2x ( 2x are alittle snug, but I am getting there)

Penny- Congrats on the 16's and close 14's - that is my ulitmately goal right now - to get into a size 14 and feel good about it! WAY TO GO!!

MYCATZ - It sounds like you had a fabulous trip. I the mountains. We use to go to the Dillard House which is not to far away from the mountains every year but since we've had my FIL move in with us we haven't been able to travel anywhere He has to have day to day care and we can't leave him overnight right now. It's been over a year and I'm going stir crazy wanting to go somewhere!
