Well ladies here is how the weekend came to an end. The "stinky kid" is no longer the "stinky kid". I was upest with my self for not seeing how little my 3 YO had really consumed. My dad who had been watching him while I was at the hospital with my other son was not able to get him to drink and I didnt think to confirm if he was. He thought I had everything under control at night, and I followed DRs. orders. Encouraging fluids by mouth and 1 tube feed. I was told bad breath was part of tonsils being out. It wasn't untill other DS didnt get that bad breath that I new something was really wrong. I guess in the end we were all to blame. To bad DS is the one who suffered. Most kids would say they are hungry, but for some reason he doesnt feel it. He is resting tonight and the odor is gone. He still is very soar and I can almost set a clock to him raising his shirt for me to give him some medicine. His reflux has settled so atleast he stoped vomiting. We are hopeful for him to start preschool on tuesday. It was supposed to be last tuesday. We will just have to play it by ear. From this point on I am going with my instinct when I think a DR is full of it. You don't cut a kids feeding tube to a 3rd and than say he will get hungry and drink it. He specializes in ear nose and throat not nutrition/eating disorders.
The tonsil/adnod removal was done with the hopes of opening up a very narrow throat. Every one is hopeing he will be able to eat more now. Rome wasn't built in a day and I will not put him threw that. You cant just flip a switch. If that was the case none of us would crave carbs.
Any one have a switch?

I hear there is fairy dust in the air. I hope the wind blows around tonight.
See ya all in the morning.

Hey everyone!! WOW...lots of reading to do.

Kbetz- You were talking about jobs and what you should do. and you said you think you are suppose to be a care giver. Let me cut to the chase...what do you think you are doing for your children? You are being there care giver. I understand what you are talking about, because sometimes I feel that I should be out doing this or that. I have always had career goals for myself. Well, I have come to realize that God has me where He wants me. I always thought I was suppose to do this awesome, wonderful job. It finally clicked that I am . And obviously you are doing the same thing. You are the care giver for those children who need you and would not get the care that they need, probably any where else than with you. You are doing His work right now. And being where He wants you to be is the only and best place to be. You are a care giver....you are a care giver. You are a GREAT care giver!! Our families are suppose to be our first and most important ministries. You are doing just that. Congratulations on being some body who is making a difference.

Tiffani

I have a lot of catching up to do, so bear/bare with me as I reply to some of these older posts.

OK Sure, I come on and everyone leaves...what's that tell you? It's late. We have long days on Sundays away from home. Our church is 45 minutes away. But well worth the drive. Only contemporary Christian church around here. We had an awesome church in OHio b4 we moved here and this one compares so much like that one. the pastors even have the same 1st names and they both home school and have lots of kids!!

Well, by the time we get home from church, we put the little ones down for naps and my dh and I leave to go back to a marriage enhancement class. Just 4 couples meeting at the pastors house for a 2=1 class. It lasts 15 weeks. So needless to say that is even further away, but again well worth it. My husband and I are growing so mmuch closer. And learning to let
God have His way in our marriage more. (and lives)

It was 10pm when we got home. Wasn't able to say good night to 2y/o. Hate when that happens. A quick peak in the room helps though.

I think my whole point to this long drug out story is it's late and I am babbling to no one...rofl.

Congrats to all for the great weeks. Will tell you tomorrow how hubby and I met. Long story again...hehe

Laura.

good night

Good morning everybody! Just popping in to give my report: .6 lbs. down this morning, and 1.2 yesterday.

On Sunday, I purposely upped fat calories since I planned on a Water Workout. I got to it in the late afternoon, and it was exactly 2 hrs. consisting of stretching, light weights (armwork), calisthenics (esp. focusing on abs), and some cardio. I usually gain the day after I exercise, so I was pleasantly surprised to see just a wee bit over 1/2 lb. loss.

Totals were as follows:

Calories: 1195
Fats: 68
Carbs: 23
Protein Grams: 84

The menu was basic Kimkins but I added fats since I planned on keeping protein grams a little lower, so that might be considered a "controlled" Atkins Induction! (Whatever it's called, it works as one of my calorie/fat/carb cycling days!)

Breakfast was a few eggs scrambled in butter, I added whipping cream to my tea (!), lunch was a very small (1.5 cup) chef's salad with fat-free ranch dressing, and dinner was 1 cup Eggbeaters with just enough extra virgin coconut oil to lightly coat the pan's bottom, and topped with 1 tbp. SF DaVinci's Pancake Syrup. I also drank 4 SF Rock Stars (!!!) throughout the day, plus lots of bottled water and I took all my vitamins and supplements.

Kbetz: Hon, don't be so hard on yourself. How could you immediately know what was happening to the baby? When you explained the whole situation to the doctor(s), he, she or they should have recognized what was really happening instead of making assumptions. Thank God you followed your mommy instincts!

Lisa, Tiff: Hi, girls!

BeyondtheBeauty: Welcome!

Divine= You are doing awesome.... I sure wish I was still going to the pool, i Miss is so much.... maybe things will get better around here and I can rejoin..... WTg on the weight loss... Is 63.6 the whole total???

tiffini... sounds like you had a wonderful day yesterday.... I didn't go to church last night, wanted to go... but my brakes on my car need to be change and it was raining... so I didn't go.... but yesterday morning we had a awesome services.... I sung a song call " What can I do" it went right with the sermom.... I always try to listen for the Lord on what I am surpose to sing and most of the time I pick the right song..... Anyway, I have been asked to sing that song again this friday night at a community wide church service.....

I think it wonderful when mothers can stay at home with their children..... I wish that i could have been a stay at home mom.... I only worked part time during my marriage, but after getting a divorce... I had to work as much as I could to keep our head afloat...that goodness for cell phones and pagers.... they help alot in communitcating with my kids.... my parents and my brother were awesome in helping out when i couldn't be there.... and everyone knew at the church I was a single mom, so they too kinda adopted my kids.... so my kids still always had someone around even when I couldn't be.... I was lucky enough to be off on weekends so I could spend time with them then.......

Oh I am down another .6 lbs this am.... I had a grape feast yesterday....lol... ate my egg omelet for breakfast...with cheese and ham... then for lunch since I was the only one at home I ate grapes... then for dinner, I had a huge hamburger pattie and some dill pickles....

will be back later...time for coffee

I was glad I made it thur yesterday... I had to really put a death ear to that icecream calling me..... but I made it

hope you are having a great day so far... and please come back and post often....

Good morning, Lisa: Yes, 63.6 lbs. is the total to date! About the exercise, you know I love the water...so I took my new 5 lb. weights in with me and used them both under and over the water. I felt it, but I was surprised that I could handle more reps than I thought. That's ok...I'd rather not hurt myself when first starting this wt. training stuff; besides that I have to be careful due to the fibro...it's not as though anybody needs to actually hurt their muscles!

About being a SAHM...don't you sweat it, babe. You did what you had to do to take care of your kids, and that's what really counts. We all make sacrifices of one kind or another...my dh works 2 jobs to keep us going and we are by no means rich. What I am saying is that the traditional family thing was our choice.

Congrats on the .6 lbs. down! Isn't it weird how we lose by even numbers? For me, it's always .2, .4., .6 or 1.2 and 1.4, that sort of thing. I am wondering if it's my digital scale...maybe it only does even fractions!

I know , I know your rite. I went back and forth for a while working part time before I had my youngest 2. Now I just stay at home. My delima is I am a what if, one day person. I dont know when that one day will be or even if it will be one day, but my thinking was school during the day while all the kids where in kindergaten or up. I wouldnt be able to support a family on min wage and I havent finished my degree yet or have any outside of job skills. You are absolutly rite that they wouldnt get the care from any one else. I could not care for them rite now and work.I wouldnt want to. I just worry about when they get bigger and feeding and clothing them I will have 4 teenagers at once, AHHHH. I need to buy stock in milk now.LOL
Its amazing how one of the most important jobs in the world is so under paid and under apprecaited. At least as moms, we know at the end of the day that we for the most part did some thing good.
Thanks for reminding me to focus on now and a little less on latter

I wanted to make sure we are clear in all this conversation about working moms and stay at home moms. Just incase any one takes it personal. As long as you are doing your best and keeping the house held together than you are a great mom. If I had family to help I might be more apt to work part time to pay bills a bit easier. We dont have that options ,and daycare for 4 kids will be more than both of us make. ( something is wrong with that picture) I also would have to send a nurse with my youngest 2 for all the medical stuff( its a everyday thing). There is no money in the budget for that. Hey, there another hat I wear. (Nurse)

xbeyond- you are on fire, your melting away

Divine- is shakeing it rite off. Look out its flying.

Lisa- I need to get a point scale. Then I could see 2 numbers change. Just hope it is in the rite directon. Your points are adding up to alot. very impressive.

no offense here kbetz..... we all have to do what we have to do... I was the father and mother of my children... and I know i did the best that i could do in raising them....

and I was also chief cook and bottle washer too.... I had to hold it together for my kids sake, their dad was no where in the picture, that was his choice.... and to this day, that is the way he wants it... My kids where my life and they know that... they knew without any doult that I love them and even though it was not always easy, I found time for the little stuff that was important to them...

I admire all moms that can stay at home... what a blessing that is to be able to be there for their kids and watch over them and see everything that is going on in their lives..... You are blessed....

As I was too, I was blessed... God has away to take care of those of us that have not a father in the kids life.... and he provided more then I could put down on paper.... He is a awesome God...

enough said... just be thankful You are blessed

Hey, I think that is true of most moms...that is, they are everything from chief cook and bottle washer to nurse, potty-trainer, diaper-changer, you name it!

Lisa: I'm still working out my plan for today. I think I will keep it Kimkins today...but I did add butter to scramble my eggs again and whipping cream to my 12 oz. of morning tea. That will be it for added fats today.

Here's the Menu Outline:

B: 2 eggs, scrambled in 1/2 tbsp. butter (seasoned with salt, pepper, and oregano), 2 pieces lean Canadian bacon (12 oz. tea with 2 splashes whipping cream, stevia)
L: 2 pieces of thinly-sliced chicken breast (skinless), 1 cup steamed asparagus (16 oz. SF Rock Star)
D: 5 oz. Valley Fresh 98% fat-free all white meat chicken, mixed with 1 tbsp. Kraft's Fat-Free Ranch Dressing, maybe adding 1 cup mixed lettuce (16 oz. SF Rock Star)
S: 1 SF Jello

Kbetz and Lisa: To your list, I'd add Christmas decorator (inside and out), Christmas card writer, special occasion (holidays, birthdays, weddings, births, baptisms, graduations, etc.) gift shopper and wrapper, executive secretary (pays bills, keeps tabs on everything, makes and takes phone calls nobody else wants to deal with, etc.)...

Starting to get the value of mothers yet, girls???? We are priceless...so remember that the next time you wonder if you should have or should now do something else...don't let the world put a value on who you are as wife and mom.
