Hi,
Can I join you guys? I have been an "on again off again" low carber for quite some time, although I must say that I am mostly on the "off again" side of it. I always bail after I loose the first 10 pounds. For some reason I hit a major stall after the first 10 and then get so frustrated that I give up and go back to my old habbits. So here I am, 10 down and frustrated lol. I have been stuck here for two weeks and it is hell. I need friends!! |

Hey guys. Thank you so so so much for all your support and encouragement. I hope I can do the same for you too.
The only reason I really want to switch to ww is b/c of variety. I know I can eat anything i want, as long as I eat the points I am suppose to. I have done it b4 and it works well for me too. Actually any time I go to lose weight no matter which way it is, I usually do good. And then it becomes TOM and I go nuts. I usually never stick to anything for more than a month. So tomorrow will be 5 weeks for me. I also have never had the support like you guys b4. So thanks again. I think I just want to go to ww so i can have sugar...not good. I know this is the best for me, and as everyone else knows, it gets hard at times. Yea, maybe by upping my carbs 5 more a day, it will shake things up a little. My body is feeling so tired. Thanks for all the ideas. I am going to try the sf jello with cukes. And i love deviled eggs. Hate the devil though. I know he wants me to fail. He sees my strength thru this and wants it diminished. Well phooey on him. I am bigger than him (i mean that in a spiritual way, not a bootie kind of way). I just need to eat more variety I guess. ![]() ANNIEPIE Come join us. We are all working together towards the same goals. This group is such an awesome one. Everyone is so wise and supportive. Each one brings their own take on things in here and keeps it real. Welcome!! We have two things we just started if you would like to join us. We are "LOSING IT WITH BUGS". The goal is to lose as much weight as you want. Some of us are saying 30 and some higher or lower. And we are losing it by Nov. 12 (i think that is the right date. well some where around there.) Some one will let us know if the date is wrong. The other thing we just started is to set a goal of a certain amount of miles you would like to walk either a day, a week or just by the same date nov. 12. You can do either one with us, both of them or none. Not all of us are doing these two goals. Some of us have other goals we are doing. All in all we just keep each other going.Mycattz- congrats on the pound. i am holding. I did up my carbs 5 a day though. We'll see where it goes. I will be patient. and hopefully start my TOM soon. So are you doing a mile a day or 30 minutes?

AnniePie- I know the feeling. I lose so much for about 3-4 weeks and then give up. But not this time. We can do it. It is so good to be able to come on here and tell everyone your struggles and then the will help you get through it. Prayer helps too, AnniePie.
![]() BUGS- yeah, you are right. We all have to find the woe that is right for us. I know this is prob it. Especially since I have PCOS which one DR. says it is caused from insullin resistance and the other says it isn't. Either way I take Metformin for it. And the lower the carbs the better for me. I think I just want to do ww so i can eat chocolate and ice cream and popcorn. Doesn't sound too healthy does it? hey, btw thanks for encouraging us all with this new goal. I ghink if we keep the goals short like that and achievable it will so so so be better for us. Tiffani |

Jamie - It must be an awesome feeling to walk up to someone and not be recognized because you've lost so much weight! I am so proud of you! KUTGW!
![]() AnniePie - We have a lot in common. Not only do I live in Houston, but restarted for the umpteenth time in May. But this time I actually stuck with it. After 16 weeks, I've only lost 27 pounds, but my clothes are so loose that I'm digging through my closet for something to wear! We moved last year and I threw away all of my smaller sized clothes, thinking that I would never be able to wear them again because I couldn't get past the first 10 pounds! Now I wish I hadn't thrown them away!Everyone have a Wonderful Wednesday! ![]()

Tiffani - Yeah, there's something about being in this group that has helped me stick to it this time!
Lisa - When I was doing Kimkins, I "went" more often. Now that I'm back to regular low carbing, I don't "go" as much! And my tummy doesn't like all the red meat! DMM - Like me, I know that you don't want to do the "re-feed" for fear of gaining, but I've been wondering lately if I could do a high fiber, low fat thing for a few days. I miss cereal so much, and I'm sure my tummy would love it. Thoughts? |

MAJOR LCF POSTER!

Hi Ladies: Wow, lots of posts since I was here last.
Well, I DID IT. I finally hit the 180's. Divine: I attribute the loss to a shake up big time. First, I dropped my carbs way down the last couple of weeks. 30 or below. Then, I exercised my butt off last week. I checked my minutes and I averaged 64 minutes a day for a week. Well, then this week came. I had mon and tues off and didn't exercise much at all. Also, I was so frustrated when weighing in at 193 on Saturday I said screw it, I'm going to eat carbs (smart carbs only of course). So I ate two LC tortillas, whole grain, at 8 carbs each (I made pizza on them) and made some cream cheese muffins (my LC weakness, they average about 2.5 carbs per muffin and I ate 3 ). Then Sunday I also had plain oatmeal at 18 carbs for breakfast. All the rest was the usual LC standards. So with the slight upping of the carbs and a drop off of the exercise for a few days, off went the lbs. Suffice it to say, I'm hitting the gym hard tonight because I feel so guilty about not getting in my exercise.Jamie: Congrats. Wasn't it great getting all the compliments? Good for you. Your losses are fabulous. Tiffani: You choose the plan. We are here for you no matter what woe you choose. Thanks for your words of encouragement. You guys are great. Welcome Anniepie: Jump on in. Some of us have been at this a long time. The weight won't come off overnight. And stalls, that's my middle name. I've had the biggest stall ever since starting LC'ing. You've got to keep plugging away and the weight will drop. I have no patience and want to see results immediately, but then these ladies usually bring me back to earth and make me look at what I've accomplished so far. When I look at it that way, I'm ready to jump right back in and keep plugging away. Bug: You are an inspiration, able to work two jobs and still get in the exercise. Good for you! Lisa: I changed my stats! Congrats on losing the lb. You are on a roll. You are always such a quick loser though, I know you will get right back to where you were in no time. I love the fact that we can always jump back in after we fall off. I would love to join the walking challenge. I've never really kept track. The good thing is I'm scheduled to walk the golf course path three days this week so that will total 18 miles in one weekend. Hi everyone else! ![]()

OK I need to set up some goals!
I want to loose at least 8 pounds a month so I am going to put my weight goal at 22 pounds down by November 12. I have a treadmill so you would think the walking goal would be a piece of cake....not! I have it folded up in a corner of my room with clothes on it lol. And then when I do try to use it I am walking one legged because I am trying to keep my kids from jumping on. I will have to take time today and get that baby cleaned off and set up. I think I will start at a mile a day for a week and then go from there. Tiffani - thanks for being so helpful! AggieMom - I'm in Friendswood. I am originally from CA, we moved to Texas about 3 years ago. This year has been tough, I am really missing our families. All of our relatives are back in CA. ![]() I just bought my treadmill at the beginning of the month. Key thing is USE IT. That is so easier said than done sometimes. I even hung a big desk calendar on the wall and me and DH record on the date every time we walk and how much we walk. At the end of the month, I'm going to add up all of the miles and that will be our goal next month - to be what we did currently. We also record our weekly weights on the calendar and monthly measurements. I didn't start off at a mile either. I started off at 1/2 mile on flat. I've just recently started doing a random program with hills usually at a 2.8-3.0 speed. Nowadays, I do at least 1.25 miles every time if not more. Don't over do it or you will pay the price. Learn from my mistakes. And, I goal to at least walk 4 days a week - sometimes more but at least 4 days. Do what you can and work up to it. Come here for encouragement! ![]()

DH and I are low carbing together. We started on my 30th birthday (July15 after the cake) We were recording weights weekly too. That is until he started losing more then me! He is down 17 pounds, can you believe that...and I know that boy has been sneaking peanut butter! So frustrating. I am galad he is doing this with me though, I think it would be even more difficult if I didn't have his support.
Yeah I'm not sure what I can do on the mill. I will have to test it out and see what I can handle. What do you want to bet I do all the work to clean the stuff off it and then he jumps on it before I do...ohh my gosh I will just have a cow haha. |

OMG...I was just talking to my son about how much weight I lost and he made me feel so good. I wasn't thinking that 33 pounds was that much. You know, when you have 100+ to lose, it just doesn't seem very high. But...I said I lost 33 pounds so far and he said that is like losing Christian (Christian is our very active 2 year old. I was like...yeah you're right. I lost Christian. Now that is a good way to look at it. Makes it seem larger thatn how I have been looking at it. I am in for the long run now. No giving up.
Kbetz- i know you might not be on today or tomorrow b/c of your sons surgery, but just wanted to let you know we are praying for him and your whole family. God is huge!! Tiffani |

AnniePie- I am not sure if it would be easier or harder if my husband LC with me. We are very competitive. But I don't have to worry about it. He is 6'2"+ and only weighs about 140. For the life of him, he cannot gain weight. I should have been the opposite. We are hoping our girls take after him and boys me...lol.

AnniePie welcome!!!! I use to be like you.... I would lose good for two weeks and then nothing... then I would get discourage and quit.... and did this over and over again.... till one day I finally figured it out thanks to the boards....
Almost everyone losing good the first two weeks, then it takes time for the body to adjust.... during that time you might not be losing weight, but if you measure in the beginning, I mean measure all over ... and during the time you are not losing weight you measure, you will see a difference in the measurements..... Or in your cloths how they feel.... Stop! depending so much on the scales.... they don't always tell the truth, due to alot of things like, retaining water, or if you are exercising, muscles weigh more then fat..... Also setting little goal instead of saying I am going to lose 100 lbs by.... instead set weekly, monthly or even daily goals.... YOu can do this and we are here for you when you feel down, and just need to vent.... white house- I am really going to try and get up to 30 minutes a day exercising.... If I make the mile first, before the 30 minutes I will be happy.... dream- Congratulation!!!! on making it into the 180's.... see I told you to change the stats... I knew you were going to lose.... ......

Well, I did it. I found some recipes that are LC to give me a variety. I am sure you all know about Linda's Low Carb Menus, right? Here is the link if not.
Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home So for dinner I made a sausage and mushroom quiche and I also made some chocolate bars for dessert. I lowered the carbs a little on both though. The quiche is great and so are the CHOCOLATE bars. (i used almond flavoring instead of vanilla)!! Thanks for the support on staying with it. I was thinking of doing a weekly goal of 3 pounds. That will bring me to my goal of 210 at Christmas. hmmm....decisions, decisions. |

Ladies from the Weight Loss Journal - Our Favorite Recipes
whitehouse here is another place to look... also in the recipe section on the forums..... Here are a few of my favorite crockpot jumbalia 1 chopped Bell Pepper 1 chopped Onion 2 Medium Tomatoes Chopped 1 Cup chopped Celery 1 Clove Garlic Crushed (I'll probably use two!) 2 tablespoons minced parsley 2 teaspoons thyme leaves 2 teaspoons oregano 1/8 teaspoon chilli pepper 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups beef or chicken broth 4 oz smoked sausage (I use Turkey Sausage) 8 oz chicken breast 1/2 pound cooked shelled shrimp Combine all ingredients and cook in a slow cooker on low 9-10 hours add shrimp in the last 30 minutes. And I didn't even buy the fancy shrimp I bought a bag of cooked salad shrimp. They are small but they work great in recipes. And only $3.50 a bag. gooey mexican casserole Ingredients For Cheese Topping: 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 2 4 oz cans diced green chilies 1 2.25 oz can sliced black olives drained 1 small onion diced 1/2 cup mayonnaise Main Dish Ingredients: 1.5 lbs of hamburger meat 6 beaten eggs How To Prepare: How to Prepare Cheese Topping: Put all ingredients into a large bowl and mix, set aside. How to Prepare: Cook hamburger and drain, add beaten eggs to hamburger till cooked. Spray a 8X8 glass pan, pour in hamburger/egg mixture then place the sauce mixture on top evenly. Bake at 350 for about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted. Top with sour cream and hot sauce if you wish. coca cola bbq chicken Ingredients 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 cup catsup (There is a recipe for lowcarb catsup on the newbie site under must have recipes if you would like to try that) 12 oz. can diet cola (best if you use diet rite!) Put chicken in nonstick skillet. I usually brown my chicken a little first before pouring the catsup and diet cola over the top. . Bring to boil. Cover, reduce heat and cook for 45 minutes. Uncover, turn up the heat and continue cooking until the sauce becomes thick and adheres to the chicken. It turns into the most incredible BBQ sauce. pork chop alfredo 4-6 pork chops 1 tablespoon butter Garlic powder Salt and pepper 8 ozs. fresh whole button mushrooms 1 16-oz jar Parmesan alfredo sauce ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese ½ teaspoon thyme Sprinkle the chops on both sides with salt and pepper and garlic powder Melt butter and brown chops on both sides. Arrange chops in 9X13 casserole Slice the mushrooms and scatter over the chops. Pour the alfredo sauce into the skillet and stir around to loosen any browned bits. Add parmesan cheese to sauce. Pour sauce over chops. Sprinkle with thyme. Cover and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving |

Kbetz ~ Thank you for the list of stuff to get. So far I have been just eating tuna and eggs. And to honest I think I've put every kind of sauce in my fridge in the tuna, some good and some so bad. Your list is a great help.
I can't believe that you guys home school, that's a lot of dedication and inspiration. And accountability. Mycattz ~ Congrats on the pound lost. Hi AnniePie ~ Welcome, this is my first time so maybe when can learn together and you picked a awesome group. And perhaps we both should start using the treadmills that we ALREADY own. (And by using I don't mean as a hanging shelf) Dreams ~ 180's!!!!! That's outstanding. Congrats. ![]() Question: I bought some Fresca pop/soda and it has 0 carbs in it, is it still ok even though it's not diet. P.S. Some of you are totally on top of this, I come to update and by the time I get the respond button someones posted something new. Could also be that someone needs help at the front desk. Either way you guys are GREAT!!! Thanks.

Today I dropped 1.4 lbs. (after gaining .8 over the past few days). I did KE yesterday but dropped the protein grams to less than 60. That's not always a good idea, but I did it as a shake up.
Dream: That is awesome that the shake up worked for you!!! Annie Pie: Welcome! In the Process: Can't say anything on that SF Fresca...except check if it has aspartame. That can stall wt. loss. Have a lot to do today, so can't post much more. I hope everyone has a great, happy, low-carb day!

everyone! ![]() I've walked 4 times this week so this morning I took off. I'm not hurting as much and I feel pretty good. I also noticed this morning that my knees are not hurting like they used to do I'm even cutting back on my arthritis medicines.Tomorrow is my official weigh in day so I'm taking it really, really good today in hopes of meeting goal tomorrow. I will post my results on Monday. (We have so got to get a home computer! ) I feel good this week. I have energy. I feel positive about tomorrow. We also take measurements and add up how much we walk tomorrow so I'll try to post all of that Monday too.If I can get through tonight at work, which seems like its going to be a 1am/2am kind of night since its the end of the month and before the holiday , then I have the whole weekend of no work - sometimes I live for weekends! Of course, with the holiday Monday, I will be paying the price with another long day/long night Tuesday but it's worth having 2 days off back to back from everything. I hope everyone has a great day and a swoosh day tomorrow morning!! |

Divine - WTG on the 1.4 down.... Hows your mom? I know you are super busy right now... Are you still finding time for yourself? Swimming? Exercising? KUTGW!
Bugs - WTG on all that walking you are doing.... I found last time I walked.... I started out slowly.... doing 1/2 of a mile, then a mile, I worked myself up to 2 miles at a time.... and what a differents it made..... I noticed my balance got better, my confidance in walking without holding on to something got better.... I could climb a few stairs without holding on to something.... its amazing what walking can do for you as for as your overall health.... KUTGW! Intheprocess - I don't think the fresca willhurt you... I have seen alot of people on here drink fresca..... that use to be about the only diet drink you could buy, that and TAB..... And oh yea forgot about diet rite soda.... Anniepie - the mexican casserole is my favorite... so very good.... Sometimes for a treat I fry some LC tortillia shells to go with it... don't recommend you do that if you are on introductions.... but maybe later on, you could try them..... netriton sells Mama lupa's that only have 3 carb per tortillia.... Dh loves them, better then the ones you buy at walmart, is what he said..... I had a reaction to them.... heart went to racing after eating a few bites.... so I stick to the lc that you buy from walmart, I have found them as low as 5 carbs there per totillia..... As for me I am still the same this am... but i WAS bad last night... But I promise I will not be bad today![]() I don't know where everyone has gone to... Tannie, Gran where are you?????? Bpgurl- hope you are having a wonderful time with school and Oh! did I read you are dating the repair man ????Dream- hope you are having a wonderful day... looking forward to hearing what the scales are doing for you today? Pooraggie- hope you are having a wonderful day.... you are not posting as much, miss you |

Mycattz- thank you so much for the new recipes. I am not very good at figuring out carbs yet so if you know by chance how many are in each, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I can do it. I really like that Jumbalia recipe. It looks so yummy. Hubby is allergic to seafood but, he doesn't need to eat it. Or I will at shredded chix or something else for him. Also thanks for the new web site. I think you were right on about adding carbs and then starting to lose weight. I think I am finally starting to understand this woe. OK well a little at least!!
