Good Evening Ladies,
Sorry it is so late. I had to work late again tonight. We have some big meetings coming up oversees and getting all the paperwork done for them is killing me. This week has been so stressful. I have to admit I did cheat today. I was running late this morning and had an work related errand and be back at work for a 9 am meeting. Well I was in such a rush I didn't grab anything for Breakfast. I was so stress and was at a very weak moment when I grab 1/2 a bagel (the bottom half). I ate it with Cream Cheese. So my menu looks like these today: B - 1/2 bagel with 1/2 tub of cream cheese L - Beef Briscuit w/ 1 TB SF BBQ sause S - Ate Peanuts all day D - just got home around 9 and don't really feel like eating this late. I also did not make it to the gym. I am just exhausted. I'm going to have to work hard all weekend to get back in shape. Linda - LOL about the socks...my dryer eats mine. Glad your DFS is having fun. I'm a wuss too when it comes to tatoos. Jennifer - on the exercise. I promise I'll w/o on Friday. They possible can't make me work late on a Friday can the

Hi!
I was starving yesterday! Guess I'm not back in ketosis yet. But I was down 1lb this AM so my body must've needed it.
Yesterday: B - coffee w/cream & Splenda, 2 eggs scrambled in butter L - ham & cheese roll-ups w/mayo & mustard S1 - celery sticks dipped in blue cheese dressing S2 - hb egg, 1 oz cheese D - chicken boob, salad 112.9 oz water, 8.5 oz citrus green tea cal - 1657 fat - 124 68% carbs - 17 3% protein - 115 28% I think that instead of automatically reaching for the celery sticks as a snack I'm going to try cheese or an egg first. Maybe the protein will fill me up & a second snack won't be necessary. Jen, At least you didn't use eating 1/2 bagel as an excuse to blow it for the rest of the day Try not to work too hard ![]() Linda, How long will DSS be staying with you? The kids here are going to start school in the next week or so. |

Jen, Im sorry work is so stressful and busy for you right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you don't have to work late on Friday.
Jennifer, woot on the additonal pound lost! You are an inspiration. Celery is so multifunctional. It goes with sweet and savory. One of my favourite snacks is celery with almond butter. But celery with blue cheese is awesome also. Your idea to eat more protein is a good one. DSS is going to be here until the 25th. He does not go back to school until the first week of Sept. I do feel bad for him. He came to spend time with hs dad but DF has been working long hours and long weeks. He does not get a break until Monday. So they are going to do something together then. They are most likely going to go see Transformers and then go out for Sushi. Even I miss DF but it is more important for them to spend together time. What is it about socks. What socks Daisy doesn't hide the others get eaten by the dryer. WTH?? So far: B~ Coffee with cream Have a great day. |

Good morning!
Ugh! DF has been working so much I miss him. Plus he only has one day off. 6 days on 1 day off. Fun. B~coffee and green tea and about 1 L of water. I have a pair of pants that just a month ago I could not get past my thighs and this morning I was able to put them on and zip them up. Woohoo. My DF commented that he can tell I am losing weight. It was totally unsolicited so I will believe him. But really, I want to wake up skinny! One day..... Well not skinny but slim. Yanno? So tomorrow DF is going to take DSS to the set with him. So I will have "free" day. Now if he woud just take Daisy I would have no responsibilities for the day. The movie he is working on has an actress with the intials JA. He says that she is really pretty. Gee you think? (me rolling my eyes!!) Sheesh. Sometimes I widh he worked in an all-male industry. I know there really is no such thing but hey I can dream. Hell I wouldn't mind working in an all male industry. lol Have a great day! |

Tell DF he needs to go work for Chippendales (isn't that what those male dancers are called?) I bet you'd go to work with him everyday ![]() Yesterday: B - 2 cups of coffee w/cream & Splenda L - nothing S - hb egg D - steak, salad 64 oz water, 8.5 oz citrus green tea, 8.5 oz Crystal Lite iced tea 579 cal 48 fat - 72% 10 carb - 5% 35 protein - 23% I do believe ketosis is back |

Ah, Chippendales sounds like a plan.
Ketosis is wonderful. For me tonight I am craving popcorn. It truly is my downfall. I made the guys some kettle popcorn tonight and it is killing me. I was all prepared to make some popcorn for me. Just a couple of cups with some butter, coconut oil and grated cheese but I can't find the popcorn. I have searched everywhere. I know we have some! Oh well crisis averted but I am feeling really deprived and bitter. I think I might as well just go to bed and pout. (only child syndrome) L~ 1/4 of a cucumber, 1oz macadamia nuts, 1 celery stalk and one egg with mayo S~ 1 beef patty, 1/4 of said cucumber and 2tbsp of dip made with mayo, garlic, dill and a little sourcream. Pretty boring. Just not feeling like cooking. But tomorrow I am going to make some revolution rolls. Good night. |

Jennifer can you please send some heat this way? Our weather has been unseasonably cool here. Tomorrow DF has the day off and I want to go to the beach. What a bummer though, he is working until 3:00am so I would imagine he is going to sleep in somewhat. Kind of a waste of a day off.
I'm not working this month so I can take care of DSS. But come Sept. I will be back in the work force. I do miss the adult interaction. What do you both do for a living? I am a social worker. I work in addictions and mental health. I primarlily work with intravenous drug users and sex-trade workers. Food so far: B~ green tea and roibos tea L~ cucumber with dip, 3/4 can of salmon and one egg (patties) with ketchup and horseradish. S~have yet to eat yet but planned is 2 chicken legs with backs attached and the skin, 1/2 fried zuchinni in coconut oil. I *might* splurge and make some coconut bark. I need motivation. I have some cleaning to do but I am dragging my butt. Jennifer, your menus for the past few days look great. You soon will hit the 100lbs lost. I am beyond thrilled for you. Have a great night! |

It is 12 thirty-ish and I still have not had supper. I do not think I will bother. I hope the scale shows me something good on the 15th!
Jen, I hope all is well. This is the tattoo I will be getting on the back of my neck. Not straight across but diagonal. I am super hyped. DallasMegan graciously copied and pasted it for me from the translation site. It is in Sanskrit. I hope my mom likes it. At first she didn't like my piercings but now she said she can't imagine me without them. And she is pretty straight-laced. |

Hey there! How are you two doing today?
Today I went shopping and the sales are unreal! I got a pair of low-rise, bootleg cut Levis for $20.00. I also purchased a very smart, casual dress that was originally $128 for $36. Oh and the dress is a size 16. Of course it must fit big but I am thrilled. It is very flattering. In a couple of days I will take pics of it. But now I need to buy new shoes to go with it. Menu today B~ Coffee L~ 2 boiled eggs, 1tbsp mayo, 1 scallion, 1 celery stalk S~ 1 piece chicken leg with back attached and 1/2 cup zuchinni. I had planned on eating 3 pieces of chicken. I was feeling piggish but I could barely finish the one piece. So I will be eating chicken tomorrow. Have a great night. |

MINI-CHALLENGE FOR AUG 15-30 MINUTES AND MILES The new mini-challenge is one to stimulate exercise! It's time to get up and get moving! You will earn points based on the number of minutes you exercise OR the number of miles you log. This is how it works: MINUTES: You get 1 point for every 15 minute chunk of exercise. You can do a video, swim laps, participate in a class, lift weights, turn on the music and dance around your living room ... you name it! In case you are wondering, yoga, stretching, and pilates count as exercise. MILES: You earn 1 point for every mile you move. This includes biking, walking, jogging, running, skateboarding, and any other kind of movement that can be measured using miles. It DOES NOT include clipping on a pedometer and logging your everyday walking around steps. Challenge miles are what you do in addition to your everyday tasks. How to count points: *You may earn up to 10 points in each category for a max of 20 total points. *You may choose to do only miles if you wish (max 10 points) *You may choose to do only minutes if you wish (max 10 points) *You may choose to do some of each, in any combination In order to get more than 10 points, you will have to go outside your comfort zone and try something different. If you usally walk or jog, try Dance, Dance, Revolution, or a Wii interactive game. I hear they're fun! If you usually do a video, walk around the neighborhood. Grab a friend, your child, your really good music/headphones, your dog (or your neighbor's dog), and get going! ***NOTE*** EACH SESSION ONLY COUNTS ONCE! No cheating! You can either count the minutes or the miles, but you can't get credit for both categories for a single exercise session. Some exercises could be counted in either category. I will use the info collected from this challenge to design a future challenge suggested to me by Joyful48. Dvanbeus: You may collect your "weight loss points" by completing at least 10 points of exercise in any combination you feel comfortable completing. If this isn't safe for you, let me know and I'll provide an alternate activity. |

I'm waiting to hear back from smartmuse whether the miles & minutes are cumulative over the 15 days. In the meantime I'll plan to do 1 mile + an additional 15 minutes of something else each day.
Very rainy thanks to Tropical Storm Erin, but at least it's keeping the temps down. On the news last night they said the high temp for the next 2 days is going to be 90 (32C). Break out the sweaters Then we'll have TS (maybe hurricane by then) Dean to deal with next week. Be careful in all this rain Jen! How are you doing today Linda? Yesterday: B - coffee, chicken breast L - none S - s/f hot chocolate D - crack slaw, salad 1737 cal 144 fat - 74% 28 carbs - 6% 86 protein - 20% |

From smartmuse re: the challenge
Hi Everyone!
To answer the questions first. Keep in mind, the idea of the challenge is to get yourself moving more than you are right now. Q: Say I walk 1.5 miles today & .5 mile tomorrow. Do I get to count 2 points, or just 1 for my 1.5 mile & none for my .5 mile? A: I would count that as 2 points. Your time span is from Aug. 15 - Aug. 30 so anything completed in that time frame gets counted. It doesn't matter how you break it up. Q: And if I do a 20 minute stretching routine one day & a 40 minute aerobics DVD the next, does that count as a whole hour? A: I think this is a similar question. 60 minutes of exercise is 60 minutes of exercise. It doesn't matter how you break it up, so long as it happens within the time frame allowed. |

Good morning!
Last night I made some weird sushi rolls. I used Nori ( seaweed wraps) salmon sashami, cucumber and a bit of cream cheese. It was really good but it was the first time I have used cream cheese in a while and I dreamt that from it I gained 20 lbs! UGH. Not pleasant. We are doing great! This challange is fantastic. Quite motivating. Have a great day. |
