Miss M- I have not been tracking my cal/g's of protein/carbs this week, though I have eaten even less than last week. I am going to have a small finger grab of salad with my dinner and try eating eggs for breakfast tomorrow. Maybe that is what my body is asking for right now... I'll keep ya posted...thank you so much for all of the information you have been sharing with me!

New to LCF
Hi everyone!!! I finally got my approval to post...lol. I wanted to say how inspiring you all are. I started K/E on July 2 and have fallen off the wagon a couple times, but I got right back on. To date I have lost about 16 pounds. I have less than 20 pounds to Onederland....I can't wait to see it. My start weight is from June 06. I am experiencing SNATT right now
not loving it, but it's not too bad, I just hope that it doesn't get worse. I look foward to hearing from everyone and I hope that you don't mind a newbie .

Good morning everyone!
This morning the scales were officially down 20 pounds! I know that may not seem like much to most of you, who have lost MUCH more than that, but to me, it's a milestone! Just 5 more pounds and I will be 1/4 of the way in my quest to lose 100 pounds. Thanks to all of you for your support! Together, we can do this! |

PS- I was 197.5 whenI went to bed, and I drank about 6 pints of water yesterday! what the.... but I am sticking with it, any suggestions? I am going to try the green tea tonight, I haven't been having any bathroom problems, but I'll try anything right now- I need to loose 7 by August 11 and I am starting to panic that I won't reach that goal!

Jennay -- I really hope that you get your woosh. I can relate to the bounching back and forth its not fun at all!
Dream -- I can relate about how quickly weight comes on for me it is a frustrating process to say the least. Divine -- Looks like you found a plan that works for you... what the difference between K/E and kimkins I thought they were the same. I'm not really upseet about my friends loss, I'm happy for her, I was upset about my gain when I stuck to plan so well. Srfgrrl -- congrats for restarting and I hope you see onderland soon. PoorAggie'smom -- Congrats on reaching a 20 lb loss Papita -- enjoy your vacation! I lost the 2 lbs I gained last night which made me happy, I certainly hope that the loss sticks. I want to add some exercise to my routine. So far I'm down 9 lbs since starting 2 weeks ago.

Hiiiii Ladies. I'm so glad its Friday.
I usually drop on the weekends, so let's hope. I'm back down to 192.2 today. So I have .2 of a lb to go to have lost all the weight I gained over wedding week. Then look out, 180's here I come!Steph: Hugs back at ya. It's so good to hear from you. I'm so glad the scales are moving for you. Sheesh, I can relate. My middle name is stall. I drop a couple, stall for two months, drop a few more, stall for a month. Good Grief. Oh well, its not as if we have a deadline to get all of this weight off.Jennay: Maybe the little bit of salad will jump start your loss again. And the tea does help. Not only is it really good for you, it's an awesome diaretic. Just eating protein, your body probably has adjusted. I'm not one to talk because I'm such a slow loser, but it seems when I change things up a bit, the weight starts dropping. I'm just too reluctant to give up my old ways. Aggie: Good Grief, 20 lbs is fabulous. Good for you. You are doing great. Char: another 8 lbs??? You are rockin. Hey SrfrGirl75. Welcome. This is a fab group of people with a lot of awesome support. Do you really surf? Do you live on the coast, west or east?Divine: I'm totally into alternating or "carb shifting". I'm just not quite as stringent when I reduce down to close to K/E cause I don't want my study counselor catching me. So its more of an Atkins Induction level. Anyway, speaking of mixing it up, during wedding week, I had one day of over 100 carbs. I'm back down to days with 28, 30, 35, etc. Only now, I'm trying reduced carbs with reduced fat intake. My only fat intake yesterday was some SF pudding I made with 1/2 and 1/2 and some peanuts, but at least it was LC. No cheese!Okay, this is long enough. Hi Jamie, Christie, Geekgirl, Jeannie, Gran and anyone else I missed. I hope Paula is doing okay. Hugs to you. ![]()

Hello All
I was just approved to post. I was happy to find this site yesterday. I've been on this weight loss journey on my own; since my mom dropped off the plan back in April. Everyone knows I'm on the Atkins diet but still seem to offer me things I can't have which I won't mention. But I was happy to find that there are people out there that can relate to where I am on this weight loss journey. I haven't had any problems sticking to the Atkins program in regards to food. I had caught a cold last month and without thinking I took Dayquil and Nitequil which both contain high fruitrose syrup which took me out of Ketosis. So needless to say I was back to the induction phase and I'm happy to report back in large ketosis. I look forward to sharing with all of you and hearing about your successes as well. |

I think I'm down 2 lbs....I say it that way since I weighed very early this morning (before my usual "wait until 9:30 a.m." deal). I've learned that when I DO wait until later (and don't eat or drink), there's a 2 lb. difference from an earlier weigh-in. So I'll wait until tomorrow to find out what really happened! |

Dream: That's so interesting! I do it the other way...keep carbs low, but up everything else (protein and fat grams). That's only because I know I'm extremely carb intolerant...the highest I can go (but not for long) is about 35 carbs for one or two days. Coincidentally or not, that's the carb amt. somed savvy nutritionists recommend for diabetics. (No, I'm not diabetic and that's another reason I'm on this WOE, because my mom, grandmom, greatgrandmom all have/had it, and I was heading the same way.)
Aggie: 20 lbs. is WONDERFUL! Every lb. is another big step to final goal!!! ![]() Geekgirl: KE is all lean proteins (nothing else, no added fats or cheeses), while Kimkins is all lean proteins, with added salads and veggies, and low-fat or no-fat dressings. The recommended carb amt. stays at NO MORE than 20 carbs per day (which is a LIMIT and not a goal to reach). Welcome to Wannabe and "Surfergirl"!!!! ![]() Papita: Welcome back and congratulations!!! ![]()

Its frustrating about the medecines kicking you out of ketosis. I've had stuff like that happen a lot. Quote:
Me too, I get different weights at different times. Quote:
Me too on the carb intolerance... I'm horribly intollerant, even 25 carbs kicks me out of ketosis, I have to be super strict, fats don't seem to make a difference. That makes sense, thanks so much for the info ![]() Quote:
Can I answer since I'm on Atkins.. Usually for breakfast I do eggs lunch is a burger no bun (some side ) and dinner is meat and veggies |

Hi Christy: Here's yesterday's menu:
B: Egg Starters (2 eggs) - 2 carbs Fresh Mushrooms scrambled in - 1 carb L: Chicken breast strips about 4 oz broiled - 0 carbs 2 campari tomatoes - 4 carbs 3/4 c broccoli & cauli - 5 or 6 carbs S: 1/4 c dry roasted peanuts - 5 carbs D: 1 four oz steak - 0 carb 1 c greenbeans & mushrooms 6 carbs 1 c fresh strawberries 10 carbs 1/4 c sf pudding made w/ half and half - 5 carbs total carbs for the day: 38 This is by no means induction levels of carbs. Take away the strawberries and you come awfully close. Take away the pudding, the strawberries and the peanuts and you are there. I have added those in since doing induction and cant seem to drop them to get to a true level of kimkins. I've been on this for almost 8 months so I have long since left induction, but I'm trying to cut back on fats and cheeses now to see if I can start losing, but this is a pretty typical day for me minus the cheese. Most of the time I have salad instead of a veggie for lunch or dinner. When I shift I have oatmeal for breakfast which jumps the carbs way up, or I have wasa crackers and peanut butter or additional fruit. But only on days when I shift up. I try to mix up what I eat to keep my body guessing. About a 6 weeks ago I dumped 10 lbs in one month, not sure why. My carbs during that month were much higher. So, who knows. Hope this helps. |

Jamie – When do you start school? I am sure that people will not even recognize you! You’re doing so good! KUTGW!
Christy – Did you eat lunch? I’ve heard it’s best not to skip meals. And I’ve heard that processed meats aren’t the best choice. Hope you’re back to losing tomorrow! Jeannie – How are things in Kentucky today? GG/Lil – 9 pounds in 2 weeks is terrific! KUTGW! Jennay – Sounds like you’re doing the same thing I was doing a couple of weeks ago. I agree with DMM – change things around. It sounds like your body is getting used to K/E. Hope you see a whoosh soon! Dream – cutting out fats and cheese is the way that I weaned myself onto Kimkins. As far as the salad dressing, you might try dipping your fork into it first and then into your salad. I found that I didn’t have near as much that way. Hope this helps! DMM – what would we do without you? Thanks so much for your posts! I have learned so much! Paula – Our thoughts and prayers are with you, with hope that you and your family return safely. SrfrGirl – ![]() Papita – enjoy your vacation! Wannabe – I’m in Houston. Kbetz, Char – Hope you guys are doing well. Tannie – hello? Gran – hello? Where are y’all?

Aggie: I do the fork dip thing all the time. I find that sometimes I don't even come close to using a tbsp of dressing. It's a great tip.
![]() Also, I just noticed your siggy where you put first goal met - 20 lbs. I think that's a great way to set a goal. Rather than 20 lbs by a certain date, just next goal 20 lbs! Maybe perhaps because I have never met a certain loss by a certain date. Because stalls happen and whooshies happen. We can try to help those whooshies along, but sometimes they just don't occur. I am trying to ween myself into kimkins. I'm going to mourn cheese for a while before I get rid of the fruit and nuts.![]() |
