Divine, I put on 20 lbs in just a few day, I know alot of it is water weight.... although I have been really good the last 8 days, so some of it might be regular weight.... any which way I will take it...

I do try to stick with it, but i know when I get off, I am in serious trouble.... as soon as I eat something off plan I put on instant weight.... I once read that the pounds you put on in the case are water... then after getting back on plan you loose it quickly....

well ladies i dont want to do what i was doing before i left for miami cause it wasnt the healthiest thing around. i would only those two side salads a day and then one actual real meal every other day. with a constant 3litters of water a day if not more... thats why i passed out. i am going to try doing my salads and one small meal a day. for a couple days and see where it gets me. i dunno... i will take it one day at a time.

Dream – Have fun at your HS reunion! How many years?
Lisa – I’m sorry about your husband getting aggravated that you have to get up and go in the middle of the night. When I get up, it wakes BF up, but then he goes too! He rarely has trouble going back to sleep – it’s always me! And I’m just like you – it took me THREE WEEKS to get over one day of being off plan! Jennay – Congrats! Your success with K/E is my incentive to try again! Thanks so much for your suggestions. I don’t know what I was thinking! I can make this work after all! I can eat these finger foods at my desk real quick before someone passes by! I have some smoked turkey and I can make some deviled eggs this weekend. I bought turkey pepperoni, but I haven’t eaten any yet because I was worried about all the salt making me swell. Is it really different from the regular pepperoni? Can you drink the SF energy drinks in the afternoon? That’s when I get so tired. I fell asleep in the tanning bed, and I almost fell asleep in the chair getting my nails done last night! I have to be at this assignment an hour earlier than usual, so I’m struggling with being a morning person! Jamie – I don’t want you passing out again either! Are you eating enough protein? It’s what keeps me from being so hungry…a salad won’t fill me up! I know it must be hard at work because you’re working long shifts and you get so hungry. Maybe if you were to get some SF Jello and bring it with you for a snack to keep your metabolism going. I’ll also have a diet drink when I’m super hungry to keep me from cheating. I know that water is best, but it doesn’t always help to just guzzle water to keep from being hungry. Just be patient. You’re already losing again. You can do it! DMM – They probably don’t even make them anymore! I couldn’t find them online at CVS or Walgreens! Too COLD to swim? I could only dream! That would never happen down here in July! Aggie, thats what i keep tell Dh... I can't afford to cheat, a cheat really does me in... and then it so hard to get back at it....
for me I feel like I am so stong when on plan... Ketosis is the way to go.... no out of control feeling... then just one piece of candy and I throw it all out the window... Dh just dont' get it, no matter how much I try to tell him.... this last time, I showed him how my stomach was sticking out, and my legs being swollen.... show him how tight my rings were..... and told him its all about the carbs for me... as long as i stay away from sugar and all white stuff, it seems to help this.... i told him I am allergic to this stuff that is the only explanation I have for swealing up everytime I eat it....

Thanks
I'll give you guys a bit of a history on me. I was on Atkins about 7 years ago... I lost 100 lbs and did good... I was diagnosed with diabetes but got my sugars under control in that year... well I got pregnant and there went that and I fell off plan and got back on lost 40 more pounds and got pregnant with my second and the same thing... I need close to 200 to lose I tried a million other things and am back to my roots and what worked. My biggest concern is my bloodsugars went back up/ So I started Friday after a scary reading but didn't start Induction till Monday when I got my first weight. So right now so far I'm down 5 lbs. I look forward to getting to know everyone. I'd love to lose my 100 this year but it seems like a short time frame from when I am starting.

Lil... I too have over 200 lbs to lose... when I get into Ketosis... I am a burning machine... but one slip not only puts me back on the scales, but also start the food cravings all over again.... I;m not saying I don't ever crave while in ketosis, but its a craving I can control.... As big as I am, I dont' worry much about fats.... eat until I am full.... I have tried kimkins and got really sick after one week of doing it.... so I stick to Atkins....
I just got back on plan on 8 days ago.... I went on vacation and got off of plan and really stuggled for I guess almost 3 weeks trying to get back on it.... during that time I went from 329 up to 361, carbs are a kiss of death for me..... I figured most of it was water weight at least about 20 lbs.... and in 8 days i have drop 16.8 lbs of it..... I am just so thankful I am back into ketosis or at least I am close... cause the hungrier is not as bad...... I have been dealing with headaches and tired ness the past two day of it..... Look forward to reading more of your post.... |

You sound so much like me Lisa, I'm the same way. I've really struggled. I car pool with a close friend who is overall supportive of my weightloss but can be a bit judgemental. See I dropped out fo atkins to do a physician monitored program, lower in fat higher in carbs and it bombed for me... so I switched back and had a bad head ache and complained to him... his reply was "I was sympathetic the first time you went through this, but this is the third since we started riding together. If you stayed on plan you wouldn't get headaches" It really struck me theres so much harm I do to myself by jumping on and off plan. While I internally cringed at his comment I saw just how right he really was.
Right now I'm trying to make it for the next 2 months by sticking to plan ![]() Thats what I did before is take a cheat weekend every 2 months but I had to be faithful during the 2 months have stop and start time, that works best for me. |

Lil, I cheat now with lc icecream...I dip me out a serving and add sf rootbeer to it.... stir it around and drink it... Oh so good! I know alot of people have problem with stuff like that but I don't seem to have... have had one the past 3 to 4 days and losing fine with it....it gives me something to look forward too.....
If you can cheat every couple of months and get right back on plan thats great.... just don't let the cheat turn in to a full blown binge.... we are close in weight.... I was 344.2 this am.... Maybe we can encourage each other by sticking to this together.... but we have got to be honest with each other.... if you cheat say so, if you get off plan say so, if you feel like stopping say so.... What are you eating everyday? |

That sounds great Lisa, I could definatelly use a buddy.
Mostly I've been having steak for lunches a co-worker (and good friend ) started with me on Monday so we've had lunch out every day at an Atkins friendly place which is going to need to stop because I'm running low on cash  But has made it fun to for me to get started too. Dinner is usually simple, I've mostly been frying up some burgers ![]() I'm not very good at eating breakfast but the days I have its been eggs. |

Everytime I have went thur introduction, I would always start with 3 to 4 egg with alot of bacon...this always seem to help...
today I had breakfast- 4 egg w/ bacon coffee w/non dairy creamer( powder stuff) Lunch, well autually I ate breakfast around lunch time..lol Snack- pork rinds and water Dinner- not sure... but was thinking about making me a big salad w/ thousand island, sunflower seeds and some cheese.... and if I get hungry later a serving of lc icecream and some sf rootbeer.... |

GG -
Welcome! It's never too late to start! I, too, was a former loser who gained it all back and more. Now that I'm older, I've discovered that it's so much harder to lose.I was reading about your planned cheat after two months. I understand that would be your reward for being faithful, but I agree with Lisa. It took me too long to recover from a cheat for it to even be worth it. I have to fight hard for every pound that I lose, so I can't afford to cheat at all. I also agree with Lisa in finding a low carb treat instead. I've never tried the LC ice cream, but I've heard that it's good. There are lots of treats out there. You just have to see what works for you. |

aggie, the ice cream I get I think its beyers.... the vanilla flavor... my mom and brother love the rocky road.... I like the vanilla because I CAN make a root beer float... it really helps with my sweet tooth....
well I made it thru another day... instead of a salad tonight, me and Dh order pizza... I took about 5 pieces and scraped the topping off in a bowl and ate that... it was a super surpreme, so it was loaded with bell pepper, olives, mushrooms, onions... and of course sausage, canadian bacon, pepperoni's.... the after I ate that I got dh a couple of ice cream sandwiches and me a up of root beer float.... Dh said I was up about 50 times last night.... I said I know..... told him I have lost 16.8 lbs in the last 8 days, he said that was alot of trips to the bathroom he is such a character.... hopefully tonight I will sleep, really could use a good night sleep... so tired... And by the way the medication the doctor gave me for my legs didn't work... dh said I kick him all night long too.... ( wonder how many calories I burned ![]() well I am fixing to go to bed... really tired... hope I go right out... goodnight all, have a wonderful weekend.... |

Goodmorning All!
Well its two steps forward and one step back again.... the scales are unkind to me this am... I am up 1 lb.... the only thing I did different was those pizza topping...Oh well, I know it was nothing that i did that was real bad, so it should come back off in a few days... maybe with a few extra pounds.... I am helping out with a bbq today, so will be gone most of the day.... hopefully I can get me alittle chopped pork w/o the bbq sauce.....to eat on... and I am taking me a bottle water to drink.... hope everyone has a wonderful day.... |

I try to remember all the benefits to lowcarb eating. You are so young, you probably don't see them because I imagine you are very fit and healthy. But it's definitely improved my premenstrual irritable bowel, as well as helping my hypoglycemia (I've had that since I was 5). So even when I'm not losing...I do feel MUCH better than when eating carbs. Steadier emotions, no shakiness, fewer episodes with the heating pad and massive doses of ibuprofen. Geekgirl
