Hi guys: I didn't totally stay on track yesterday and am up another lb. It's my own fault. I'm back at work today though and have started off great, just eggs, 1.4 carbs for the morning. And I brought a wonderful LC salad for lunch. Let's hope I can make it through dinner at home. I've got to try to stay at induction levels for a while and kick my butt back into ketosis.

JENNAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!. You made it. Welcome to onderland.!!!!!!!!!!!!! Paula and I were getting lonely down here. You will pass me by now because I've gained over this last week. I'm so happy for you. I hope you celebrate with an extra workout or something. I would suggest food, but that doesn't quite work, does it.

Tannie: I totally know what you are saying. People tell me I don't need to lose any more and I'm sure its because they are used to seeing me 70 lbs heavier. Why should they be able to weigh 130 and not me? That's what I ask them. Why should I be stuck in the 190's? They don't get it. Oh well, I'm sure they mean well and it is a compliment for them to say we are already "SKINNY" enough.

There was a guy at the wedding who I've known for years. I kept waiving and trying to get his attention and he wouldn't acknowledge me. His wife did, but he kept ignoring me. When he came through the receiption line he said he didn't acknowledge me because he didn't recognize me and that I should take that as a great compliment, so I did.

Hopefully I can shed these extra lbs soon. It took me a month to lose them and three days to gain them back. UGH!

Dream, that is such a wonderful compliment... for someone to see you after you lost weight and not recognize you, you have got to feel good... don't worry about being up, just get back on plan....soon you will be losing again....

Dream, I agree with Lisa you will get those gained pounds back off. It's hard watching what you eat in a major event like a child's wedding, believe me when one of my sons get married and move out of the house I will probably eat the whole wedding cake

That's totally amazing how your friend did not recognize you, he didn't want his wife seeing him waving at some hot woman that's why he kept his hands down

I also want to say to those people too, why can't I weigh 150 like you

Jennay: I am so, so happy for you!!!! That KE really pushed it for you!!!! I know you are enjoying the view and happiness of being in Onederland!!!:coo l:

Dream: Hey, I'm right with you on that one...why shouldn't you weigh 130 if that's your target? But what a compliment you received at the wedding!!!

Today I dropped 1 lb., so I'm at 51 lbs total loss...1 lb. down doesn't sound like a big deal, but TOM always makes me anxious since he also makes me gain and then it takes a week to get it off. It's so weird that changing back to Kimkins plus adding those SF Rock Stars is helping so much. Once that stops working, it's back to KE I go...

Aggie: About the shake amts, it really depends on what else I may be eating. These whey protein shakes are meant as replacement meals. So, for example, I had breakfast (egg beaters, 2 small slices of lean 98% fat free Canadian bacon), lunch (2 cups lettuce, diced chicken, fat-free ranch dressing), and dinner was the whey protein shake with 2% reduced fat, low-carb milk in the blender with ice. (It's the blender that makes the big diff in consistency. If I make the shake like a kid's quick chocolate milk and mix it in the glass, there's hardly any taste difference from using water and ice.)

Btw, in the previous thread, I posted what Kimmers advises if having a "shake only" day, which includes the top amt. to have.

Rosie: I've done it all. Switched from trying and re-trying Atkins, then started Kimkins. When it stops giving me the results I want, I go to KE. Basically, I am alternating between Kimkins and KE.

As you'll see from my various posts, I really examine what is going on with me and what could cause temporary wt. stalls or gains - exercise? PMS? Aspartame? (Yes, definitely!) Something I ate? Is the body just adjusting and slowing down for a few days or longer than that? Do I need more proteins (found out I had to UP my protein grams this week to 100 per day, instead of under 60. I also slightly upped the fats, which is very easy to do, just to 30-40, but I'm staying mostly around 28-33). That might change in a week...we'll see.

I think the main thing is that our bodies adjust to the WOE and the exercise, so we have to do "allowable" things to shake it up so it doesn't freak and resist the wt. loss.

Jennay - Congratulations! Save me a place in onederland! I hope to be there with you, Dream and Paula soon!

Dream - He didn't even recognize you? What a compliment! That must be a wonderful feeling!

Tannie - If I don't get busy, you're gonna pass me up!

DMM - Sorry, I'll have to go back and find the post and read it. A lot of times I only have time to quickly skim over the posts.

Last winter I bought myself some leather boots. I couldn't wear them because I couldn't get them zipped up over my calves. This winter I will be able to wear them!

See, I do a "no-no" with the low-carb milk (just every so often)...but I don't like mixing the whey protein with soda pop, and everything else seems to contain aspartame.

I don't think a SF Rock Star would taste good with chocolate whey protein, either...but maybe I'll try it just once. I think it would have a "raspberry/chocolate" fizzle flavor...maybe?

Hi ladies, I have about 20 lbs of lose skin that I need gone. Just to let you know what's going on, I'm about to start the ball rolling on getting it removed. Below is just what I posted on my other group.

It it strange you guys are talking about insurance and loose skin, because I just called my insurance co to ask if the removel of the panis (paniculectomy) is covered and they said YES!! So I asked about my arms, hips and thighs and she said YES as long as I have a letter from my doctor that it is medically necessary than everything is covered! You know I'm on cloud 9 today, it sounds all to good to be true. But hey they did pay for my band, too. I go see my doctor on Thursday morning and I will ask him to write my letter, I'm sure he will be glad to. I'll keep you all updated. I need to lose 48 more pounds to be at goal so I will ask him also how much do I need to weigh to get this ball rolling.

Wow, Tannie, that's great. I've read a little about this and word is that if we exercise, we help get more off before the procedures (not to mention upping our metabolic rate).

I'm already thinking of something like you're planning on doing, but the only way we'll manage is if our insurance covers it. Of course, I have double the amt. to go that you have left...and I've been working out since the start, but I'm not convinced Santa Claus' tummy will be completely gone by goal. Even when I was thin (110 lbs., standing 5'7" at 11 yo) at puberty I immediately developed a jiggle in the inner upper arms and thighs and could never lose it. So...I'll have to wait and see how things tone up once I get closer to goal.

What guts you have! WTG!

Tannie - you must have ROCKIN insurance! I've been wanting to have my apron removed for years!

DMM - As always, thanks for the info. I don't necessarily use the shakes as a meal replacement, only as a snack, so I guess we'll see what happens.

Char - congrats on the 2 pound loss!

Lisa - You always amaze me! 3 pounds in one day is awesome! I'm glad you're feeling good. It will give you the incentive to keep going in the right direction.

And by the way, I tried the "bark" yesterday. I'll have to tweak it a little, but just like the shakes, it's an acquired taste, and I'm willing to try different things as long as they work. I'm trying a tilapia recipe tonight.

I'm down another .5 this morning. Still losing slowly, but at least I'm losing!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

Hi Ladies:

Catz: It sounds like you are on a roll. Another 3?? You always are such a fast looser. Great job. I guess I need to convert to thousand island dressing. You know there are remnants of pickles in it. I hope I can join you. We still have a few fixins left from the wedding. I'm sure I can get totally back on track when they are completely out of my house. I did drop about .5 overnight, so there is some progress.

Tannie: Thanks for the encouragement. I hope I can drop the lbs. I would have loved to eat the whole wedding cake. It was soooo good.

I have discussed the skin procedure with a couple of friends who are doing this program with me. I definitely need some work since I've been carrying around this weight for about 23 years. I need to drop another 40 which is really my goal before I actually do something about it. I don't know if my insurance will cover it though, but perhaps when I talk to my doc, I can get her opinion. I can't wait to hear how you do. I only know one person who had a tummy tuck. She did it because the way she was shaped, people thought she was pregnant. She has gained weight back since, but because of the tummy tuck, it doesn't look bad like before. So there is hope for my wings on my arms and my hanging skin off of my stomach.

Divine, the protein shake info is interesting. It gives me an idea of the contents and what to use. You are a fountain of information. And a very speedy looser. I loved hitting the 50 lb mark. That was unheard of for me. Now if I could just get to 100!!!!!

Aggie: Apron. What a great way to describe it. You are doing great. I would love to lose .5 a day. Hopefully my wild style this last week, which really wasn't that bad, will jump start my weight loss again.

Char: You are doing great too. Keep it up.

Are ya still dancin Jennay? We do a lot of that in onderland.

Have a great day everyone.

WTG! DReam on the .5 lbs.... I know what you are talking about when it comes to food in the house, and waiting for it all to be gone before eating right...lol... so hard to throw them out.... I am very proud of myself, no bites from a icecream sandwich last night.... but I did have alittle low carb icecream with sf root beer..... it really hits the spot....

I usually just put alittle in a cup and then poor the root beer on top and mix it up till its almost melted and drink it....and I still lost 3 lbs this am, so it doesnt' seem to affecting my weight loss.....

Tannie there's a new one for you....lol.... eat a rootbeer float and lose....lol... I know you are going to make fun of me, you always do....

Hi!

My out of town guests have left, so I have more time to post

Last week we were discussing gaining weight due to exercise. Well, in the 5 days since my guests arrived I didn't exercise at all & lost 5 lbs! That's a pound a day, and I normally don't lose that fast. Of course we should all exercise since it's so good for our physical and mental health, but don't get discouraged if you're gaining, not losing, or losing more slowly. It will all work out in the end.

Dream - I'm so glad the wedding went well!

Jennay -

to all!

Thanks to all you ladies who are congratulating me for finally making it to onederland! it sure is ONEderful! I am on a roll with k/e, trying to stay strong atleast until the wedding bf and I are attending comes around, then I'll probably switch to kimkins and k/e rotating back and forth. I am down another .5 today! I still have 24 days of losing until going to the family wedding so I am looking for some big results in the next few weeks. So far has been really great and I am extremely pleased with k/e

Tannie- I am excited to hear that you will be covered for your surgery. I hope it goes well for you- imagine a 20lb weight loss overnight! getting rid of the burden is the best part, but the extra weight gone will be great too!

Dream- glad the wedding went off so well- do you know if anyone is planning anything for our westcaost get together yet? my summer calendar is getting full!

This morning, I only dropped a smidgen…just .2 of a lb. GRRRR….well, that could be hormonal flux again (still dealing with TOM), or the body is sending its first signals to switch again to KE, or just a temporary adjustment. Hmmm. Yesterday, I had just 2 whey protein shakes (no low-carb milk) and one small salad with 5 oz. lean chicken. Weird.

Char: Phooey on TOM! Hang in there, I'm going thru the same time right along with you...

Catz: YES! A 3 lb. Whoosh…there you go, baby! It's starting to roll again!

Aggie: Hey, lady, just for you, I tried to mix the SF Rock Star with the chocolate whey protein shake…it tasted strange to me, but I don’t like what we “easterners” call a “soda” and others call a “float.” So if you DO like floats, it might “float your boat.” (hehe)

Yeah, the shakes are supposed to be replacement meals, not as a drink for a meal or a snack…I think it’s the high protein content. Btw, .5 lb. every day is good….I know we all want it faster (I’m the worst!), but I’m wondering if you are close to goal??? “They” say that slows us down, too, and we have to make adjustments.

Dream: ½ lb. down….Ketosis, here we come! About tummy tucks, I was looking around for websites on more info. Some show spectacular results, but one really horrified me. The huge, red scar from hip to hip…some people didn’t look that much better afterward….I don’t know. It flipped me out and I’m not “too” afraid of surgery (I’ve had 6 c-sections; no picnic but I can manage it).

Anyway, I am NOT trying to discourage either Tannie or you, but it seems that people who find their scars don’t fade didn’t show much improvement 6 mos. or so after the procedure. (I’m one of them.) Shoot, my belly looks like a battlefield already! BUT, on the other hand, if the scar is not a big issue, I can imagine those people looked fine in clothes. I am going to have to keep thinking about this one…in the meantime, I am going to keep up my ab work to get as much off as I can on my own. (Takes more work, yes, but a cheaper option…and yep, I have the apron, too.)

Sometimes, it seems to me that Mother Nature plays some nasty tricks, especially on us women. There we are, looking just fine and pretty hot, we attract a man, get married, have kids….and BLAM. There goes the figure.

Dream, I don’t really consider myself a speedy loser…really. (But thank you!) I go into detective mode every day I don’t see the scale drop. June was so hard…my FitdayPC clearly shows how the wt. kept going up and up, while I went crazy trying to figure out what was happening. It was a mix of things…I was working out like crazy, I was experimenting with low-carb berries every so often…when I stopped the berries and alternated WOES, and eased up on the exercise (by accident not on purpose), the wt. began to drop again.

Doesn’t seem fair. I NEED to exercise to tone myself everywhere! And then there’s the great improvement in the fibro…without that water, I’m in pain every day.

Jennay: KUTG, girl!

Jennifer: I’ll bet you had that great drop cuz you stayed on plan and had a temporary halt in the exercise. See…that’s how I discovered it was exercise “slowing” me down. (Not that I advocate gi
