Hello everyone! I'm sorry I'm posting so late today, but one assignment ended yesterday and another starts on Monday, so I've been running errands. And this morning the bulb blew in BF's 50" TV, so he's not very happy. The new bulb won't arrive until Tuesday. Isn't it a shame how we get used to material things, and then when they break down, we're out of sorts?

Jennay - Okay, I got some multivitamins with extra calcium! Thanks! Have fun this weekend! You're right about the summer - the less clothes I wear, the thinner I want to be, and the more motivated I get!

Bunny - I didn't try the egg whites this morning. I'm going to get some eggbeaters at the grocery store tomorrow.

I am so sorry that you were hit by a car! I hope that time is healing your wounds! But now you're doing so great! Keep it up!

Tannie - Induction flu? I thought you were doing Kimkins.

DMM - I drove out to Wal-Mart (I live just outside of downtown Houston and there are no Wal-Marts near me) and found the chocolate Body Fortress Whey Protein powder. I tried it with water. Not bad! I thought I'd try it in the blender with ice next time.

Thanks so much for all of the info. I also read a little bit of the success stories. They are unbelievable!

Jamie - you're doing great! You're already headed back in the right direction. Just 2 more! You can do it!

Dream - it's wedding weekend for you! You have much more strength than I, because I would be cheating already with all the activity around me! Way to go!

Paula - I'm so sorry you're so down.

Jennifer - enjoy your visit with your mother and sister. I don't know where they're from, but I hope they don't melt in this heat!

Lisa - No worries! You can do this!

You're right about missing my baby girl! I had empty nest syndrome really bad at first. My BF came into my life just in time!

Okay girls, we can do this!

Poor Aggie: I'm glad you liked that brand of whey protein! Hey, every so often (like yesterday), I mix it with Hood brand's low-carb, reduced fat milk (and a few pieces of ice, in the blender)...It surely comes in handy, esp. since the removed sugar makes this milk even better than Lactaid for the lactose-intolerant (and its carb count is less, too!).

Everybody: I also want to again mention the Sugar Free Rock Star Energy drinks. They come in white and gold 16 oz. "pop" cans, available singlely or four in a pack (a bit expensive but SO very worth it; somewhere between $7-$8 a pack). In my area, not every store carries it - only two stores. Today we also found it on sale at one of those gas station stores, so we bought 4 cans. I try to keep a few on hand as a treat (they are also very filling).

The whole can contains 0 carbs, 0 fats, 20 calories, 250 grams sodium (which isn't too bad) and it's loaded with this list of ingredients:

B Vitamins 2, 3, 5, 6, 12
Taurine (2,000 mg - great for energy, wt. loss, stabilizing blood sugar, and dang! I didn't believe the hype at first...but it does work as a great pick-me-up!)
Caffeine
Gingo Biloba Leaf Extract
Guarana Seed Extract
Inositol
L-Carnitine
Panax Ginseng Extract
Milk Thistle Extract (liver cleanser)

If there is any way you can find this, all I have to say is that it's worth trying at least once. (I think it does help with wt. loss, too!)

Dream: I hope you're keeping up well with all the festivities and enjoying them, too.

Paula: I really hope you are feeling better.

Tannie: Ditto to you with that induction flu!

Catz, Bunny, Jennay, Jennifer and Kbetz: How's it going? Have a good weekend with your families!

Aggie yes I'm doing kimkins but I still get the induc flu the food is the same as Stillman's. I get it whenever the carbs are low. I'm feeling better today scale has gone down 2 lbs to 219

Whenever I get the induc fluI always loose a few pounds, so it's worth the sickness. I'm really trying to push the water because they say that helps, however I'm feeling better this morning.

DMM I was willing to try those drinks you just mentioned until I read that they contain caffeine, caffeine and me don't mix, it causes to stall and then gainMy doctor also wants me to stay away from caffeine.

JAMIE sorry to hear about the gymWay to go on losing those Miami pounds, I really like your new picture. You look like summer

Hello,

I wanted to say drop in and say hello... I'm more of a visiting guest than regular here, but like to come by because you all inspire me so much...

I am doing well, playing around with different calorie and fat levels - trying to find my true north for rapid loss!

A lot of time is taken up now with beginning and exercise program...throwing myself into that...treadmill, swimming, light free weights - sure have a lot to learn - confused about heavy vs. light, etc.

Also testing different protein powders to find one that is palatable...having good success with VPX brand.

One I get my groove on, watch out

Have a great weekend all. I have a birthday this weekend. Instead of shying away from them each year - I think I should start embracing them.

I have survived and thrived this far...need to celebrate.

Sending love and hugs and wooshie wishes, Rosie

Hello everyone!

DMM - I'm going to stick with mixing it with water for now because I am motivated, but I need to see results to keep going. Thanks for the tip about the energy drinks, but I'm trying to stay away from the caffeine for now. I started a multivitamin, but realized this morning that it doesn't have the extra calcium that I thought, so I thought about maybe adding a calcium/magnesium supplement also. I hate having to take stuff! At the beginning of the year, I had reached my goal to be completely med free, and now I'm on three meds and now I'm going to be needing vitamins and supplements! But I'm hoping that once I get a noticeable amount of weight off that I will feel so much better, so it will be worth it!

Tannie - Cake is my weakness and that one sure looks good!

Rosie -

Lisa - Don't worry about that gain! It took me THREE WEEKS for the scales to start heading in the right direction again after a cheat. You can do it!

Paula - Hope you're feeling better!

Jamie - I love your new picture! You've got a "real" tan from the beach! Woo-hoo!

The scales moved this morning! Only down .5, but I'll take it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Mine will be spent indoors - here comes the rain again.

My Report for Today: I hit 49 lbs. gone forever with a 1.2 lb. loss this morning!

Well, my 2nd experiment with aspartame shows that it is the most likely culprit behind my very slow wt. drops (and some slight gains)…so there goes my Lipton Diet Green and White Teas! That's ok...aspartame worries me, anyway!

Tannie: So good to hear from you! WTG on dropping 2 more lbs.!!!!

Aggie: Smart move sticking with water and ice for the whey protein shakes...I just save the low-carb, low-fat milk for days I plan on having 2 whey protein shakes...one is mixed with milk and ice, the other with water and ice. The milk thickens it up and really helps with avoiding those late-night hunger attacks, too!

Tannie and Aggie: I understand about the caffeine in those Sugar-Free Rock Star drinks, and that's why I wanted to list all ingredients so everyone would know exactly whether or not they wanted to try them. Caffeine is the only reason I limit them to no more than 2 a day (when I do have them, it's not an every day thing), since I know it can up insulin levels and some people think it can raise bp, too. Hopefully, the taurine completely counter-acts all that! For me, I know I REALLY have to avoid aspartame and this is a good solution, since I can't have diet sodas or Crystal Light. (I can have the Nestle's water flavored with Splenda). Anyway, aspartame is my personal bugger-boo (in addition to watching sodium content!), so I really understand that caffeine is yours.

Rosie: Hey, hon, embracing birthdays is always a great idea! (Just consider the alternative!)

Catz: That's the right attitude! Keep with it...you're getting your groove back!

Paula: Sending you

Hey! Where's Kbetz???

Great job...almost 50 pounds!

I have given up the diet cokes ( it lasts). You can make a great substitute for the lipton ready made. Brew up one bag of green tea, one bag of a fruit tea (celestial seasonings has a variety box). Add splenda or stevia. Be sure to only brew the green tea bag for 2-3 minutes, or it will taste too bitter.

Mostly I am drinking yerba mate tea, with spearmint added. I really prefer the flavor. I also like rooibos and honeybush in the afternoon, as they are caffeine free.

I don't trust the aspartame, especially having suffered chronic fatigue the last 5 years (and I know it's not good for people with FM either).

I've even gone to the trouble of buying gelatin packets & koolaid packets so I can make jello without the aspartame.

I'm doing well today... DH is at work. DS has a bday party, and me & dd will probably hit the walmart for a few grocery items.

50.8 lbs. TODAY with a 1.8 overnight loss! Oh my gosh - I can't believe it! I finally hit 50 lbs....it took exactly 11 weeks and 4 days, but it happened!!!!

Paula: Thanks for the great tip! I had been thinking of brewing up a big batch and pouring them into my (saved) bottles, then storing them in the refrigerator. I just may do that this week!

I am SO glad you are feeling better!!!

DMM - Congratulations on the big 5-0! Way to go!

I'm down another .5 today...slowly but surely getting there. My clothes are getting really loose, but the scales aren't moving as quickly as I had hoped.

I wanted to start Kimkins tomorrow, but I bought some sirloins on sale this week, so we'll have to eat them first. Maybe BF can eat them! How long are you supposed to try the K/E?
