'Do something just for yourself' challenge
I don't know about y'all, but I'm forever wrestling with the urge to put things off until I'm thinner (read: more deserving) and dangnabbit, it's time to fight back. To buy a pretty dress in a size I can wear NOW. To spend $10 more for a quality item, rather than settling for an inferior knock-off. To appreciate how well my body functions despite the stresses I've put it through. Many of us 'centurions' tend to do everything bigger, including tearing down our self-esteem.
So in the latter half of 007, I'm concentrating on doing something decent for myself every day, even if it's just to stop the stinkin' thinkin' for five minutes. Anybody else feel like giving themselves a break long enough to maybe make it a habit? No need to post every day, but perhaps when we catch ourselves short-changing our lives and turn it around, we might remember to post examples here and encourage one another. At least I hope so. By the way, today I worked on my hair post-shower until it looked just so. All it took was an extra three minutes, and giving a hoot. ![]()

I want to start exercising now instead of waiting until I lose enough weight to feel like doing it. I have a lot of yard work that needs to be done and no one else is going to do it, so why not me. That will be my daily exercise. I will work in my yard at least 1 hour every day and build up from there.

Wow - you're ambitious! I've been wrasslin' with a new elliptical that is positively kicking my boo-tay. Seriously, my short-term goal is to do 5 mins. in one direction without stopping; it's that tough.
I recently discovered Fitness TV. Although I'm trying to watch less TV overall, I'm allowing myself to watch some of the 1/2 hour shows so I can decide which ones to tape and try. Right now I'm leaning toward the belly dancing class, but that Gilad guy is growing on me. |

![]() I have used those elliptical machines before and they are no joke! I agree with the short term goal of 5 min. I probably couldn't even last that long on one. LOL.![]() |
