Countdown to 2007 Challenge Week 1
Welcome to the Countdown to 2007 Challenge! I wanted to get a group of people together that are motivated to stay on plan for the 5 weeks we have left until 2007.
My starting weight is 295. My measurements are: Chest = 54" Waist = 49" Hips = 61" In 2003 when I weighed 348 those measurements were: Chest = 60" Waist = 55 1/2" Hips = 65" I finished the rest of the pepperoni I had and am going to try and stay away from really salty foods because they cause me to retain fluid badly. DH & I are both sick right now so I'm going to rest instead of trying to exercise this week so that hopefully I will be well by his vacation next week. Hopefully I'll lose a few pounds this week. I did overeat last week and I kind of used the excuse in my mind that it was Thanksgiving week so it was ok to indulge, even though we ended up not having Thanksgiving dinner, lol, but that is no excuse for my overeating so I want to be strict for the next 5 weeks to have a good chunk of weight off by the New Year. Let's kick some fat to the curb! Ok that sounded silly, not really good at motivational expressions. ![]()

Morning ladies!
I'm here to join the challenge! I just completed two weeks of induction. Unfortunately I only lost 4 pounds this time. Not really sure why I lost so little but it may be because of a new medication I'm taking. Whatever, doesn't matter I am going to stick with it cause I feel a lot better.I'm planning on doing Atkins, induction level carbs but with more foods than induction like grains and such. I plan on doing the elliptical machine for exercise with maybe some walking thrown in as well. Here are my stats and measurements: SW: 224 Bust: 44 Waist: 37 BB: 45 Hips: 49 Not sure if we are posting menus or not but here's mine just in case we are. B: Carb Control yogurt w/ 1 tbs. flax meal L: Turkey and cheddar sammich, with mayo on 2 revolution rolls, spinach salad w/ tbs. jalapeno ranch D: Chicken fajitas, shredded chs., 2 tbs. sour cream, 1 tbs. salsa S: Celery & PB Exercise for today will be 30 min. at level 2 on the elliptical and maybe a walk to the park. Okay ladies, guess that's all for now. BBL |

Good morning Pam, HAB & Diane!
HAB, I didn't lose as much as I usually do when I did induction this last time either. I have no idea why. Today I am still so full from yesterday that I really feel like just fasting today. I'm not sure I'll have anything to eat but I'll have plenty to drink. Right now I'm trying to decide between meats/eggs/a little cheese with a little veggies, that is what I've eaten the weeks I've lost the most or low carb shakes. I know it's Frankenfoods but I really need something to do something that has a structure to it. If I could just do the shake for breakfast, lunch & then eat a dinner with proper portions I think it might work. I've pretty much always just ate whatever I wanted, whenever, so I need to really work on eating around the same times through the day. So anyway, I might try it for the rest of this week and see how it goes. If I don't lose it's back to the thing I know that works, (meats/eggs/a little cheese with a little veggies). When I started this 11 weeks ago I was so concerned with losing as fast as I could but now I realized that since I need to stay on it for life, what is important is the big picture and my blood sugar is staying down so that is the important thing. I'm rambling now, lol. Where's everyone else? ![]() Last edited by Apey : 11-27-2006 at 08:11 AM. |

Hi all!!
My starting weight is 198.4 Measurements Bust: 41 Waist: 36 Hips: 50 I am having a hell of a time staying away from nuts and cheese. They are my downfall. I have tried the meat fast but it does not work well for me. I think I am going to try alternating. One meal with low carb veggies and the next just meat and or eggs. But no cheese! Good luck everybody and heres to us losing some poundage before Jan.1st. ![]() |

Want to join in!
I want to join in with you guys! I have fallen off the wagon in the worst kind of way since I quit smoking 6 weeks ago. I am up 8 pounds since I quit so I really need to get it back in gear! I need the motivation from you guys since it will be so easy to say, "But it's Christmas, I really need a cookie!"
I have not cheated today so that's a good start for me. I am not an Atkins purist. I will be mainly meat and eggs with a little cheese and veggies thrown in for fun. That is usually what works the best for me! Thanks for starting this challenge! My starting weight is 228 and I'll have to get back with you on the measurements. I haven't touched a tape measure in weeks!

I'm in!!!
I am going to try my best to get into ONEderland! However, the number on the scale is going the wrong direction! Current weight: 209!!!!! (lowest was 201)Current BMI: 35 Current Measurements: Bust: I never measured this before. Do you mean over top of the boobs or underneath them? Uh not as though there is much difference for me!!! LOL Abs (biggest part of the tummy): 39” Waist (smallest part of the tummy across the belly button): 36.25” Hips (widest point): 46” Thighs (mid way between knee and hip): 24” each Upper Arms (mid way between shoulder and elbow): 14.5” each From 6/6/05: Starting weight: 325lbs Starting BMI: 54 Starting Measurements: Abs: 59” Waist: 46” Hips: 60” Thighs: 30” each Upper Arms: 18” each I just got in from walking my dog Sweetie. It really sucked to see that 209 this morning! I was 204 Thanksgiving morning and 207 on Saturday. It may be water retention due to TOM, but still it sucks. I want to have a weight that starts with a 1 so bad!!!!!!!! I guess I have 10lbs to lose. Anyway, excited to be in this with you all!!! My goals for this challenge are to stay under 40 net carbs per day, walk or jolk 4+ times per week, and use sugarfree franken foods as sparingly as possible (as in maybe 1 sugarfree popcycle a day just so I don't have the urge to cheat). to my Loungie friends and nice to meet everyone else!!!

I measure my bust across the fullest part... which just happened to be the nipple line. I didn't measure arms and legs. I'll add them in later.

Okay adding my bust measurements.
Under bust: 39.5" bust: 44" (I did like Heather said, but I'm still not sure if I'm doing it right since there's the gap between and I wasn't sure if I needed the tape to be flush at that point. If that even makes sense.) |

I hope everyones day went according to plan. I still have to have supper but right now I am so stressed out that food has no allure. But I know if I don't eat something sensible that at around 11:00pm I will succomb to eating cheese and nuts and that is a no-no!
Have a good night all! |

tks for the welcome to the group, heather and apey. i really appreciate it. i have been on a plateau now for a few weeks, and have broken my diet. though i am glad that i havent regained anything back, and by eating by the so beach food guidelines, (even though i have cheated), i feel much better.
but i want to get rid of this "divorce fat", and re-find me in one more area. it is part of my healing that i need so badly. it helped to know that others were working hard today to stay on their plan. i did well today, and did not cheat. but i should have had more water. so i am trying to push some now. anway, thanks everyone!! here is to us all feeling and looking better as we bring in the new year!!

My BMI now is 39.5. When I started at 285 it was 44.6 so I have made some progress even though I feel down about backsliding lately.
