Hi all! Took me a minute to find you (even with the link at the end of the old thread).

Things have been super busy at work but thats cool with me. I have been so bored lately...its a nice change of pace. Im still hoping to hear from the place I interviewed with. I called on Tuesday and they had not yet made a decision.

I noticed that the sugar free candies were causing me to go out of ketosis. So I cut those out of my life too.

How is everyone doing????

Hi, fairly new here, as I just restarted this WOL. I have over 100 lbs to lose and and so I'm looking for a place to plug-in and get support. Hope this is a good place.

My biggest struggles in this WOL are:
- Making sure to be creative enough in my food choices to keep it from getting boring;
- Recognize how emotional my eating patterns have been, and that taming that beast will help me stay on track to GOAL and Lifetime Maintenance!

Thanks for letting me jump in!

Marvin Great to have you! This is a great group of people...lots of support to be found here.

I struggle with the same thing...Im having a hard time finding meal ideas that wont make me bored. Last time I did this WOE I could barely look at a chicken breast.

Thanks for the welcome. Maybe we could have people give their creative menu ideas??? One I've discovered is my Salami-Pepperoni-Provolone on my Savory Psyllium "Bread."

I love Italian sub sandwiches.....but I realized I don't need bread. I turned a psyllium pancake recipe into a savory pancake by eliminating the splenda and adding parmesean cheese, Italian herbs, & garlic powder when I mixed it up. I make a large pancake in the skillet, cut it in half and those are both sides of my bread. I heat up the meats, add provolone to melt, put it on my "bread" and add lettuce, green peppers, onion, and mayo. I was even able to pick it up and eat it like a real sandwich! I'm pumped!

Marvin!

Your sandwich sounds yummy. I keep saying I am going to make those Atkins Revolution Rolls people post about, but I never do. They are supposed to be good for sandwiches. I can't get LC bread where I live, so I do miss the ease of sandwiches for lunch. I like the Ryvita and Wasa crackers though.

I see you are in Nebraska. I have relatives in Auburn.

Again, Welcome and post often!

Maid of Erin,
Auburn! Cool. I know it pretty well. It's less than an hour from where I am now, and it is about 30 miles from where I grew up. We used to go there for various music contests, athletic tournaments, etc. I drive through every so often.

Jennifer, Heather thanks for the welcome! It's good to be here.

I'm up and down emotionally today. We're having struggles with DS at school(he's 14 and is special needs), and he's now officially part of "the legal system". Yesterday he was cited for "criminal mischief" for damaging a wall at school. He's serving In School Suspension today, but I'm guessing it's not going well. He has to work off the restitution at school, and provided he does that, when he goes to court the judge will simply give him restitution and court costs (which we will be making him pay!) and he can go back and start over. We are supporting the school's actions, because it doesn't seem he can learn to control his anger any other way.

But on the good side, his problem have not deterred me from my WOL like it would have in the past. In the past I would have devoured a large pizza followed by a half gallon of ice cream. Instead yesterday I stayed on track with eating, went for a 2 mile walk, played cribbage with my father-in-law, did my RCAF exercises this morning, and am on track with eating & water today.

In addition, I did my one week weigh-in, and measurements. I am down 11 lbs for the week , and down an inch around my stomach, and a 1/2 inch on my chest!

I realize it gets harder from here on out, and that most of my loss so far is water, but I needed to lose the water too. My BP was inching up, and my ankles are typically swollen at the end of the day. But what's different for me this time is the fact that I am shifting to focus on this as a healthy way of living and not worried about the end result.

Had a run-in with 1/2 a sandwich and some chips yesterday, but back on track today.

Marvin - WTG on your losses! And good for you for not letting the situation with your son drive you to eat junk.

Cindy - How's school?

Hope Christie is recovering well.

Hi Erins, Heather

Me too. I have Moni's addy. I'll try sending her an email to let her know we're thinking about her. Did you ever hear back from Lori?

I had a few too many martinis last night so I need to walk extra long today. It's day 22 in a row. I haven't had the motivation yet though. I just layed in bed watching a movie. The Lake House. I liked it and cried at the end.

What's everyone else up to?

I've been MIA

Hello Everyone! Marvin!!!
Heather hunted me down. I have been MIA due to being in severe pain with my stupid fibromyalgia and major depression. I go to the doctors again this coming up week. The last two weeks I have been non stop feeling like vomiting and have done so today twice at 5 am and yesterday. I think my GERD is bad? or possibly ulcer? Just not sure but hopefully the doctor can help.
I have stopped school and pretty much do not leave my house. I take my dogs out and that is about it. I will go to a few stores here and there with hubby but I just can't get myself to go ANYWHERE which is not good.
I did force myself to re-join TOPS two weeks ago with hubby since we are not doing the HMR program anymore and I do want somewhere to weigh every Monday regardless if it's good or bad - I need to know! Plus it's only $20 a year and $2 a month so we can afford that.
Our male Pom Rosco is sick and Mom is coming to get him soon and take him to the vet since I can't. Hubby is out with his little brother who is visiting from Minnesota so it's just me and the wee one (who is taking a nap).
We had his Halloween party last Saturday and I was SOOOOOOO worn out. Many kids in the house and so much game planning and decorating etc. we survived though. When it was time for the adults to do something (karaoke/drinks etc) I took off my costume and put on sweats and was ready for bed. I know big party person here!
I am just exhausted all of the time. Taking a shower is enough to wear me out. Mentally and physically I am completely drained. Thankfully I have someone so precious that I need to get up and out of bed for. Really in all honesty I might just stay there all of the time if he didn't need me to get up.
My sister and her husband will be here on the 20th for Thanksgiving and will leave on December 2nd. I will be glad to have them here. I am sure it will help with my spirit.
Here are two pictures that I sent Heather. I told her that I need to share them with you too. The Kitty litter cake that I made for one of the Halloween desserts is SURELY going to keep you away from the sweets. I didn't have a picture of the "pigeon poop" but you can see a small area of the lemon jell-o urinal surprise - I know I am sick - but WOW it was worth it for the laughter of the kids and parents. The faces of them taking their first bites were priceless. I also made bat wings (bbq wings), devil wings (hot wings), jell-o brain, little sandwiches cut out with a metal pumpkin cookie cutter, and sweet and sour eyeballs (meatballs) and a bunch of other stuff. I was a cooking fool that day.
Oh and you can see what a fat Carmen Miranda looks like.

welcome marvin!

moni i would be worn out too if i did all the stuff you do!

i spent most of the week at my parents house and got back home last night. my neck muscles hurt pretty bad sometimes. dr says its normal since my neck is longer now than it was before the surgery. sometimes i have a hard time eating, as it hurts to open my mouth.. good way to diet! sometimes it upsets me tho when i am hungry and cant eat well.

Moni,
I'm glad you posted! You have been going through a lot, sounds like you needs hugs!!! I am sorry you're in pain and feeling so depressed! I hope the doctor can help you at your next appointment! I'm so sorry for little Rosco too. I hope he's okay!

That kitty litter cake makes me never want sugar again! The picture of you and Mikey is great! Love you hon, please take care of yourself!! Be sure to report back after you go to the doctor, I'll be thinking about you!

Cindy,
That's interesting about the apple thing and rotating higher carb days. I was talking to a friend last night while we were drinking martini's and she said when she did Jenny Craig at the weigh-ins when she'd lose weight it would be the weeks she ate McDonalds everyday. The nutritionist explained it it to her, but I forget..too much vodka!

Christie,
Take it easy!! Hope you start feeling better soon!

Well my walk did end up being 3x as long as usual, so hopefully the scale won't be too too mean when I weigh in tomorrow. We shall see.

Moni, so glad you are back. I hope you are feeling better soon. Sending you big hugs honey! I am kind of bummed, I can't view your pics for some reason....but after hearing about the kitty litter cake and urinal jello, maybe that's a good thing?

Christie, some hugs for you too. Hope the neck and jaw thing gets better quickly.

Hell, I'll just send hugs for everyone!

Hello Jennifer, Marvin, Heather, Erin, anyone else I forgot. Anyone lurking out there...Joyce, Lori, Angelique??.....

HI all. I just wanted to pop in and let everyone know I was still around. Work has been nuts...but it looks like Im cruising for over time (one of the few perks of being a contractor) so atleast that will be good.

My four year old Weimaraner had been limping for a few days and we finally took him to the vet. He may have to go in for surgery if things dont get better. I guess I better put in all of the overtime I can get...this cant be cheap.

Hi girlies!! (and WELCOME Martin -- I'm going to have to revamp my opening!)

I'm in crazy school mode and sorry I haven't been in lately. I just finished Med Surg clinicals completely for the semester and passed (of course) Now on to Psych clinicals starting tomorrow. I am NOT looking forward to the crazy people but they make us take the class, so I have to get through it somehow *pout*.

I interviewed for a job in the OR last Friday. It's a student nurse extern position and, basically, I'll get the training I was going to get after graduation and be able to scrub in about 4 or 5 months So after graduation, I'll move right into a RN position!!! It's a GREAT opportunity if I get the position!! I'm so excited -- send up some prayers for me !!

So basically I've been off plan for a month. I really need to get back on track, but since DH and I are TTC, I'm afraid of what ketosis will do to our chances and the baby in the event that we succeed. However, I've gained back almost all of the weight that I had lost -- it's amazing how easy it goes back on when you've been trying like h3ll to get it off for so long. I don't know where to turn. I have a Ob/Gyn appointement on the 13th so I think I'm going to ask her what I should be doing. She'll probably say that we should wait to concieve until I've lost the weight... but I don't wanna wait that long *pout*

I'm going to do my best to make a daily stop in here, but my life is so upside down that I have no idea when I'll make the time But I'll try. It was the only think keeping me going for a while and goodness knows that I eat like crazy when I don't make the time... I guess I have to find a balance.
