~*~ Losing 100 lbs in 2006 ~ September ~*~
Welcome to the new group thread! Realistically, we could still lose about 30-35 pounds each (some more, some less) by the end of the year! C'mon gang, we can do it!

Hi Everyone and
FROGS I have been so busy with night school. I go Monday - Thursday from 5:40 until 10 pm. So I'm OFF today and cleaning house. I told hubby that tomorrow morning I want to wake up and go somewhere fun. Mts. - ocean, just somewhere fun. Hubby had his Lasik surgery on Wednesday. He loves not having to mess with contacts and glasses anymore. His vision is now 20/15 and he is just extremely happy because before without his contacts in he was pretty much blind as a bat! I am getting ready to make some blueberry streusel - hubby requested some with Splenda and unsweetened applesauce. So, I'm Betty Crocker and Merry Maids today! ![]() |

Happy September! Hi girls!
My official weigh-in to start off the month was 203 this morning. My stay in ONEderland was far too short, so I'll have to see if I can get back there this month. I just knew my scale was teasing me on Wednesday!!!! Just got a package delivered from Netrition!! Tomorrow we're having a surprise party for my grandma who is turning 89 on Monday. Moni, glad your DH's lasik went well!! Don't work too hard at school! Glad you found a minute to check in! Lori, working out 2 hours everyday is totally insane to me, you rock!!! How are you doing Joyce? Jennifer? Angelique? Erin? ?? Frogs?

Count me in too! I don't think, realistically, that I can lose 100 pounds by December 31st but I'd love to try!
This is my fourth day on the induction phase of Atkins WOE. My headaches have subsided, I can feel my energy coming back and I have that "tinny" taste in my mouth. So far, so good. I haven't weighed myself yet - waiting for the end of a full week. Happy September to everyone - let's all be losers this month! Rose |

Don't worry you are about to buy the mortgage on Onerland girl!! Joyce- Hey girl. How are you doing?? Glad to have hubby home??? Angelique- How is school going??? Has ANYONE heard from Erin???????????????????????????????? Or Tam?????????? Or Christie????????????? or Diva?????????????? Well to be honest I am struggling this week as I always seem to struggle this week in my cycle!! I have been doing a lot of research and reading articles magazine's whatever to determine if staying this low carb is what I want to do . Now let me tell you the reasoning for this....... [I WANT TO EAT APPLES AND PEANUT BUTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I know this sounds stupid but I would really like to have this every once in a while, as well as some cereal. I dont want to cheat and all these things would be WAY over my 20 carbs a day. Can you all help me out!!!!!!!!!! I am also not losing anywhere near as fast as I was .... I need HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RoseLori, You're too funny girl. I think you can make compromises instead of switching plans. You know that they make sugar free peanut butter right? I eat it all the time with celery sticks and occationally (when sick) on low carb toast. Apples, hmm I'm sure 1 apple once in a while isn't going to hurt you. But, there are plenty of lower glycemic fruits that you could possibly subsitute like strawberries or honeydew. As far as cereal, check on Netrition, there's a hot cereal and also a granola from this brand called Flax Z Snax and they are so full with fiber that the net carbs are very low per serving. They're not bad either. Try it! You may also want to think about moving up the carb ladder. Some people start losing more weight as they add in more carbs per day slowly. Like maybe for the next week do 30 carbs a day and see what happens. I hope you decide to stick to this because you're doing so well!!! I'm on my way to my aunt's house for my grandma's surprise party! Hope you all have a great day! ![]() |

Hi y'all! I'm in for the lose 35 pounds-by-the-end-of-the-year
! We'll make that my new middle-term goal (see below). We're going to Florida as a family (my side of the family) at the end of December and I really want to wear this pair of capri's I bought at the end of summer about a year ago before my hormones got all screwy and I gained all of this weight. Hopefully, I can wear them by then.Right now I'm loading music onto my new trans flash drive so that I can turn my cell phone into an MP3 player. It was cheaper than buying an MP3 player even though I really want an iPod. Then I'm going out for a jolk (jog/walk for anyone who wasn't here for that conversation). I've decided that when I look at the big picture it's frightening me and I'm not staying on plan because it seems too daunting, so I've decided to write some short term goals (like a week) to try it that way -- got the idea from another website. Short term goals for the week of 9/2: *Jolk (or eliptical machine) for 45 minutes 4 times this week. *Keep my net carb count below 20 until Monday (this one has to be even shorter term because I keep jumping on and off the wagon and that's not good for you )*Drink 64 oz of water per day this week. Ok, off to finish loading this thing and then I'm off to go jolking. Then I HAVE to study!! Got a MedSurg exam on Thursday with 8 chapters of information!! ![]()

Hi!
Taking care of last minute things before we hit the road to New Orleans.
Lori - I agree with what Heather said. SF peanut butter and an apple is a healthy treat that can easily fit into a l/c plan at this stage of the game for you. Peter Pan makes a great pb w/Splenda. Even an occasional bowl of cereal might not be too bad. South Beach has cereal as does Atkins, but Atkins products are getting harder & harder to find. Whatever you decide we'll be here for you. But remember, weight loss will, unfortunately, slow down. Joyce - How ya doing? How's Cory? Heather - to grandma! Have a great time! Sorry the 199 didn't stick, but it will soon I know. You're doing so great and we're all so proud of you! Moni - Or should I say Martha? Glad DH's lasik went well. Have fun today, whatever you decide to do. Must be nice to have a choice between the mountains and the ocean. I want to come live by you! Rose! Hi Frogs, Angelique! I miss Erin, Tam & Diva too. And I'm worried about Erin. Wish I had her e-mail address. Have a great weekend! |

Angelique - Your short term goals sound great! You can do it! I've been having a problem with it all being too much too, so I'm trying to take it just one day at a time. Difficult for an all or nothing person, but I'm trying. Try to have fun studying.

Lori - Don't give up on what's worked for you this far! I know the temptation of eating cereal - I did that this week - it wasn't as fulfilling as you think it's going to be! However, I don't think that an apple with SF peanut butter would be horrible for you - apples are high in fiber anyway.
Moni - I'm SOOO glad DH's lasix went fabulously. And congrats on the energy to be Martha/Merry Maids all in the same day! You must be feeling better and that's a GREAT thing!! Heather - I hope Grandma's party goes well! to her!! |

Hi girls...
I see that the updating LCF did this weekend changed a few things. Cool beans! The party was so great! Grandma was totally surprised!! I didn't bring my camera (doh! ), but my aunt and dad took some pics, so if they email me them I'll try to post a few! At the party, there were some of my grandma's friends who I haven't seen in years who were ooohing and ahhing over my weightloss. That was nice. They were also so amazed that my sister grew up, they haven't seen her since she was like 10! LOLMy family was so surprised that I stuck to my plan so well today. I gotta pat myself on the back. Listen to the carb filled goodies that I avoided: chips, crackers, macaroni salad, potato salad, ziti, rolls, brownies, and yellow cake with strawberry cream! Yay for me!! I ate the salad I brought with cut up pieces of turkey, cheese and salami in it and some deviled eggs. I totally felt like I was in ketosis too, very very thirsty. I drank a few diet dr peppers and like 4 bottles of water. I just got home and ate a little of my bacon cheeseburger quiche I made last night. I'm figuring my net carbs for today was around 12-15. Angelique, I love that term "jolk" that's so cute! You can totally stick to those goals. I'd join you on the 35 by the end of the year challenge, but not sure I could make it there. I'll be happy with 10. I'm only 28 from my goal, although my "ideal" weight according to the charts is probably more like under 150. Being short sucks! LOLJennifer, have a safe trip to New Orleans! Hope that you have fun with your family and get lots of beautiful pictures. Thanks for your kind words of support! ![]() Hope everyone else is having a good weekend!! ![]() |

Thank you all for that warm welcome!
Okay, here are my goals for the first week of September: 1. Curves: 3 - 30 minute workouts this week. 2. Drink 90 - 100 ounces of water per day. 3. Continue to journal my food intake daily and monitor my carbs - staying under 20 grams of carbs 4. Try not to get depressed on Wednesday - turning 42 on the 6th. Rose |

Hi all! So I made a run for the border so goal #2 is out the window - but that's ok because I'm going to start over today. I am doing well on drinking my water and I'm about ready to go out for a jolk after I finish the chapter I'm working on. I'm doggysitting my sister's dog so I have three furbabies who are going to want to go with me

Hi Angelique
have fun jolking tee hee. It's sure quiet in here today ***** knock knock ***** anyone there? We just stopped home for a bit to eat lunch. I made yummy baby lettuce with a little chicken, cheese sprinkles and 1/2 avocado and ranch! YUMMER nummer!!! I've had some whammie #'s for my diabetes so I thought I better cool it Hubby is doing well too. Today was his FIRST ever Americano - he calls them Yucka-canos he likes 32 oz. mochas with sugar free syrup but that is a TON of milk and he doesn't like the sugar free chocolate only the sugar free extra davinci flavor he puts in and he has had some blood levels spiked too.We had a nice talk last night and are trying to make better choices our goal TO KEEP OUR BLOOD sugar as normal as possible! Because neither one of us want to have to do shots! Oh, speaking of shots - well it's not really a shot but a botttle - We bought some of those Mike's Lite Hard Lemonade the low carb ones yesterday and they were tasty. We split one! Only 78 calories and 2 carbs - how AWESOME! Oh here is the big news that I am happy to announce!! Okay, Jenn you know this fridge that we have that you said you want..okay the freezer part is on the bottom and it's REALLY small so it doesn't hold a whole heck of a lot of stuff. Love the way the fridge looks but VERY small freezer! Today hubby bought a 15.4 cubic foot deep freeze for our garage so we can stock up on steaks, chicken etc. and FINALLY we can put whole turkeys in there again when they go on sale for really low per pound! I am a HAPPY camper!!! It has a lock/key on it too so little Mikey can't go and mess in there and get hurt! It's awesome it has lots of little divider shelfs/drawers. Well, we are off again to get a regular coffee pot we are going to TRY to stop drinking espresso and drink regular drip with cream and davinci sugar free syrup this is going to be a HUGE change for me.I only drank drip coffee years ago when I drank too much tequila! and needed to sober up AND of course I for years have related DRIP coffee to vomiting up THAT tequila ha ha. So, I'm going to TRY it and see if I can switch so that will SAVE money!!! So what is everyone doing for Monday? Anything exciting? |

Thanks Lori. I wish the scale had rewarded me for it, but I'm over that. Can't give up! I should really start weighing weekly because the daily ups and downs are depressing sometimes when really it's most likely water retention not gaining fat over night, ya know?ETA: I posted in the ML about this topic and a woman posted a REALLY GOOD article that helped me so much today. If you get time you all should really read it, it's post #4 in this link: Does the weight on the scale today reflect what you ate yesterday? Glad you decided to stick to your plan! Great idea to keep a food journal, I've kept one daily since April, and I wish I had done it since the beginning. It's really helpful! Enjoy your days off!![]() Last edited by heather2578 : 09-03-2006 at 07:21 PM. |

Hi!
Can you believe it's 2:30 am & I'm up making meatballs for my sister? It's her favorite food in the whole world, and after she weighs in at WW on Tuesday evenings she has a free night, so I promised to make them for her. I'm such a good sister. *pats self on back* The shower was a huge success! I got to see some cousins and aunts that I don't get to see too often so that was nice. My mom wasn't feeling too well (nauseous), but she was in good spirits and enjoyed herself. My sister told me Mom gave her her Christmas placesettings and napkins and napkin rings. And my mom told me she wants me to have some beautiful stemware and a Dresden (I think) ballerina that my dad brought back to my grandmother when he was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. I really hate this. Heather - Glad you had a good time! I'm glad you got so many compliments and I'm proud of you for passing up all the goodies. Lori - I'm glad you're sticking to l/c. I find it the easiest to stick to (says she who has been off plan more often than on ). Enjoy your days off!!!! Do you have any fun plans?Angelique - I Taco Bell! Unfortunately. If only I hated junk food I'd be a twig. Rose - Your goals look good! Don't be depressed about your b-day. Better than the alternative. And just think how awesome you'll feel and look when you hit 43! Joyce - How ya doing? Moni - I didnt realize the freezers were small. They look big in the commercials. My brother & SIL are getting one for when their house is finished. They'll get to move back in in the next few weeks, but it won't be 100% till late October - early Nov. Over a year later, there are still FEMA trailers and blue roofs everywhere. It's crazy. We'll be heading out around noonish, so I'll try to post when I'm back home. I hope the traffic isn't |
