Hey Brook,

Get that needed rest your body is needing. I sure hope you can survive til dinner. I am certainly not ready to fast just yet.

These last couple of days have been great. Looking forward to the next 6 months and losing weight. I just remembered to pull out our weight lost chart. I hope to score some points this month. It may not be for some prizes but If I stick to it, I will be rewarded.

My weigh in is on Monday. Everyone have a great weekend.

Hey Brookie & Sarah~~

Guess what? I was checking the "100 pounds in July" thread and a few people that signed up for our challenge are checking in over there.

Anywho~~ I see that they were playing around with this virual model, that looked kinda fun. So I took a shot at it.

What you think? Me now and at goal.

I love that as you get skinnier, you go from a one-piece to a tankini!

My goal is to be totally good until my annual trip to NYC the first weekend of Aug. So because I wasn't so great earlier, I don't get dinner. But I'm totally not hungry so it's ok. But I did just complete my pilates workout.

I made it through another day!

I am very proud of myself today. I overcome temptation last night and stayed on track. First to give you a little background about myself. I am a 32 year old computer technician. I have been married for 13 years and have 3 wonderful children. I weigh what I weigh today for a number of reasons. The first and number one being that I have a bad habit of sitting down in the evenings with a few glasses of wine, a few beers, or some mixed drinks and watching television while snacking and sometimes gorging. I have been doing this routine for years. This bad habit mixed with my sedentary lifestyle equals disaster. Every evening I would get this craving for alcohol and once I got a little buzzed the munchies would kick in and it was all downhill from there. Now to tell you how I overcome temptation last night. Yesterday evening my wife got confirmation that she had landed the new job she wanted. For years she has worked a job with varying hours and one weekend off a month. Now she is working at a bank and can be home with us every evening and every weekend. The first thing that popped into my head was,” lets celebrate!" In the past this would have meant a trip to the local ABC store, Chinese take out, a stop by the movie rental store, and maybe even a pit stop for some sweet snacks for later. Since starting the Atkins my cravings have gone. I no longer get the craving for alcohol or sweets. My mood is allot better and my energy has increased allot. Last night I sat in a parking lot a few blocks down from the ABC store debating on what to do. In the past that debate has always been a short one that ends with me at the ABC store before I can talk myself out of it. Without the craving I was able to overcome the urge to cheat. I sat there and imagined having to get on her today and let you guys know how weak I really am. Instead I pulled the van down into drive and took off driving past the liquor store and on my way home. Instead we went home and I grilled some steak to celebrate. This was a major hurdle for me in the road to recovery. I know now that I can and will succeed.

I'm so glad you are here, Travis. Good for you for starting Atkins. If you want the spreadsheet we use for tracking water, exercise, weight, measurements, etc. let me know and I'll ask Cheri or another Admin to email it to you if they don't mind. Otherwise, I think there is a spreadsheet on the website you can save to your computer and then reformat for the right month.

My plan for today is either a new DVD I got from Blockbuster followed by elliptical or Denise Austin. And I have my dinner in the crockpot now so I have a plan and won't go crazy eating with everyone else later.

Happy 4th!

I weighed myself today.

I said I was not going to weigh myself at least for a couple of weeks but today I gambled and jumped on the scale. I have been using keto sticks and they were only showing trace amounts of keytones. This was begining to frustrate me a little bit. So after reading that the keto sticks are not always the most reliable I jumped on the scale. This was a gamble because if I did not show weight lost it could have been a damper on the whole diet. I was pleased to see the scale show 297. That is eleven pounds lost. What a motivation that was! I know most of it was water weight but I dont care.

My triceps are super jiggly but at least I'm getting there.

I totally understand about feeling so tired after work. I have found that I have to do it right away when I get home because once I sit down, I'm done. I've been doing the Denise Austin Fit & Lites but today I'm going to try to do both that and the Daily Workout. I've gotten in my 5 times this week but I want to get in a workout today. Saturday is my day of rest because it is my fast day.

Great job, Travis, on the 11 pounds!!! That is awesome!!!

Groovy, good job on the eating! You'll get there with the exercise when you are ready.

Sarah! Where are you???

Thanks for the pat on the back girls! Well I have lost a total of 14lbs now and I am really pumped. I realize that 10lbs of that is probably water weight but I am still pumped. Yesterday we went to a big flea market and we walked around it for a couple of hours. It was hot and I was pretty tired after that. We stopped at a hardees on the way back and while the wife and kids were eating their carb filled combos I was eating a low carb thickburger and I must say it was so good. It was a hamburger wrapped in lettuce with mayo, tomato, onions, and mustard. I love this diet! I feel great, have no cravings, better mood, and more energy. It sounds like you ladies have been doing great getting your exercise in. I don't have a daily exercise program yet. Right now we just try to do something everyday that involves walking. The other day we went hiking in the Dupont State Forest and stupid me didnt check the weather forecast before we left. It looked a little cloudy but pretty clear when we left. To the spot we were walking to was about a mile or mile and a half. Once we got to the bridge a felt a drop of rain and the next thing you now the sky just opened up. It was lightning and thundering. The rain was coming down hard. It was gorgeous! I could not think of a better place I would want to be in a thunderstorm than in a beautiful covered bridge looking over the edge of a waterfall. After the thunderstorm the fog set in below the waterfall and was really pretty. Here are the pictures I took. The covered bridge and the falls were from a previous trip but I wanted you to know what they looked like.

Hi ladies! I'm back from Austin, and ready to get back on the wagon. I've not been too far off, really, just haven't been paying that much attention. But Lenny and I promised each other to keep each other honest and take better care of ourselves, so here I am. He's good, but I need my Biggest Loser Challenge gals to keep me goin'.

Another lb gone!

Way to go on those carb burners Brook! Are those carb burner videos geared more torwards the ladies. I have been trying to find an aerobics video that seemed to be more for the men but I have not had any luck. The only one I can remember ever seeing was one the coach made us do in high school for football. It was by Lyle Alzado and I really liked it. It didn't have alot of hard moves you had to learn to do before you could really get a good work out. I could use something like that to exercise to especially on rainy days. Yesterday I worked my but off doing things in the yard about all afternoon. Now today I have lost another pound bringing the total up to 15lbs. That is 5 pounds away from my first mini goal of 20 pounds. I am glad you guys liked the pics. The first one is my favorite. I am thinking about either getting it blown up and framed or maybe even having it put on canvas. I love the rain. If you have ever saw the movie The Last of The Mohicans that waterfall is where the scene of them running up the rock slab was filmed. If you look to the left of the waterfall you will see where they were running up. Some people will even walk down the waterfall that way and play at the base of the waterfall. Not me though. I dont like heights to well. Well I had better get ready for work. Everyone have a great day!
