Here we are again!!!I am really proud of how we have kept this thread alive and well. We have a great group of girls here......and a guy from time to time......I think we have all formed bonds here that will last forever.

What is everyone doing this holiday weekend? I plan to get caught up on some house cleaning, plant some flowers for my grandma and visit the cemetary.

This week I wanted to throw something out there to help us get to know each other even better. This week let's tell each other 3 things about ourselves that none of us probably know.


I will start it off.......
#1...I mentioned going to the cemetary....I had a baby boy named David that was born between DJ and Aliyah. He passed away at birth. This October 5th would have been his 17th birthday.
#2...I am very musically inclined.....I played the violin for many years and sang in choir in school and church.
#3...I used to live in Aschaffenburg, Germany. My ex was in the military and we lived there for 3 1/2 years........LOVED IT!!!!!

BTW for all you chat people........I was getting a little worried about Indy. He has not been in chat for a long time and I read that Indianapolis had tornados this week and was worried about him and his family so I emailed him.

I got a reply from him this morning and he said that they are all fine and that the tornado missed him by barely a mile. He has been working alot and he and his family are headed to Pigeon Forge this morning...a week late....he will be back in a week and should be back in chat by Monday or so.

Melly, thanks for starting the new thread!

I went to the gym this a.m. and did 1/2 circuit increasing my weights by 5 pounds. was there about 45 minutes. I skipped the cardio today though since it is already almost 10 am. I will try to get some done later.

I have led a very boring life so I dont have much to add.

Born and raised in Central New Jersey almost 48 years ago. Vacation at the Jersey Shore since i was a kid. Went to catholic school all my life until i turned 16 and told my parents i am old enought to quit or go to public school. Stupid move becuase I went to public school senior year where i met my husband in 1976. We got married in 1983. I have been stuck with him ever since. (word of advice....never get married when your life evolves arounds sex drugs and rock and roll ) Tried to start a family when i was 30 but had alot of 'problems' so my family didnt start until i was 35 then again at 40... devoted my whole life to my family.....

the gathering was the first time i did something for myself in 30 years! and it wont be the last!

I am not musically inclined whatsoever but my mother was a professional organist! dad was a steel worker.......

not much happening this weekend just doing chores, laundry, both kids finished their book reports yesterday...parade tomorrow, i am walking along Jason's baseball truck (the other mothers sit in the truck...im a loner again) and chucking tootsie rolls at the people! then we go to the firehouse for free beer and hotdogs until around 2....everyone is pretty trashed by then (not me im always designated drive) then we figure out where the picnic is going to be and everyone brings something....

lol yeah she told me but i was way too stoned to hear anything! Tennessee WAS huge for me for sure. You made me feel so warm and fuzzy inside i could not help but have a fantastic time!

Wow Wow Wow..so much information!

I actualy have next to no plans this weekend..and it's making me nervous (LOL) I have been so all consumed with the move..yet am now in wait mode. I spend yesterday getting my nails done...eating the best bbq ever ( my hubby is a nut. When he bbq's..he makes enough for 4 families! He cooked hot dogs, sausages, hambergers, chicken, steak AND ribs!) LOL and reading 2 *books ( more on this in a minute. Today I have no plans as of yet...and tomorrow will be spent thrift shopping.

Ok..wow..let's see..not sure I can be as deep as you peeps..I mean heck..it's not even 8 am here yet!

1. Let's just get this over with. I secretly ( or not so secret now) love love reading trashy Harlquin Romances. I get them from the thrifts shops..and when I get in my moods..I can read 3-4 in a day. In case any of you are taking notes..I don't like the spy kind..or historical kind..but the modern, full of sex ones

2.I've had tons of careers before the one I have now ( I manage an artisan jewelry/african art store) they all seem to go in large time cycles of 5-10 years. I've been a hairstylist, flower arranger, teacher ( all with a degree of some sort) NOt sure what my next adventure will hold..but might just be a family business

3. Ok..one deep one for ya. My food issues stem from a truly screwed-up childhood. I grew-up with an alcoholic mom, physically abuseive dad ( not to me..but towards my mom) and was sexually abused by 2 diffrent men as a child. I definatly used my weight to hide from the oppoiste sex..to buffer myself from the world..I thought it kept me safe and at arms length from harm. Little did I know..that untill I got therapy for this stuff..I would end-up picking a first husband that was my dad in every way you can imagine. Then re-creating my parents relationship to a tea! Adults have no fricking idea what they do to kids when they stay together for the sake of them!!!

Ok..I'm doing very well today...and now off to chat

Just stopping in to say Hello to everyone before I have to do the dreaded Wal-mart on a Sunday trip.

I was LOL at My Mother last night she had me stop at the Little Debbie outlet on My way Home from TN last Sunday I bought back 8 boxes of the things between her and My Cousin they have ate them all and she is up 7 pounds she says now she is cutting out sweets but she had to stop at this close out store in Tarpon Springs yesterday where they have all kinds of snacks for 12/99cents and she bought 24 of them lets see how long this last

I forgot about the 3 things I have told almost everything on this board mostly bad stuff lately I am not sure there are 3 things LOL

1. the weirdest a few people know My Father was married 9 times and was 59 when I was born I have Nieces and Nephews older than Myself.

2. I love to read and always have at least 4 books going at once one in both Bathrooms one in the Car and My Bedroom.

3. The Church I attended when I was a Kid/young Teen had a Saturday TV service and I sang in the Choir and some duets and threesomes every week.

Well down another 1/2 pound this morning and had a major drama with my 19 yo ds....gonna be a long summer.

Three things:
1) I was a medical student headed for neonatalogy.

2)I was a teen aged model in the Montgomery Wards catalog.

3)I have actually had 11 children.

Hello and Happy Sunday! I'm just not sure what happened to Friday and Saturday BUT all is well and I am still here. Just got home from a candle party and yes, somehow I got talked into having a party of my own.

Ok..another true confesion. I got ticked at the boys today because they are the laziest people I know. 3 days off and they refuse to go do anything! So I dietched them. Yup..just got up..showered and said " see ya" I went to my favorite thritf shop...and came home with.....(drum roll please) NOTHING! I swear..they both asked me like 10 times if I just hid stuff at my moms! It really was so funny...like I was a pod person or something! Reality is..I just couldn't find anything that fit me! I still can't look at clothes and know my size! I have pants from (one pair mind you) 4 up to 12's..and they all fit me the same! So I must have tried on like 25 tops and 10 pair of pants..and they were all either too big or too small. I finally gave-up and went home. I seriously think this is the first time I have ever gone thrift shopping and not come home with a single thing. Well..good news is..there always tomorrow ( did I mention I'm a shop-a-holic as well???)

1.) I researched and found out my family tree and history about 4 years ago. Through all this, my mother became a member of the Choctaw nation in Oklahoma. (even though we're born Canadian)

2.) I took German from grade 8-12 and 2 semesters in college. I also took 2 semesters of Chinese in University.

Wow, I'm gone for 3 days and look what happen's... Pages and pages to catch up on... Everything is going good here, not working any more 13 hour shifts, and am actually managing to relax for a bit... Food, exercise, and water, all on track!! Went and spent an awesome day with my dad fishing... Something we haven't done in years!! He's feeling much better, still doing Chemo treatments, but things are starting to look up... Keeping my fingers crossed.... Okay, enough of me....

Lisa~ So sorry to hear you had a rough night the other day.... But really glad you felt comfortable enough to tell the group about it... The biggest thing is admitting to someone that it happened, then you can carry on and try to figure out exactly why it happened, and try to take steps so it doesn't happen again....

3 things about myself?.... Geesh, I hate talking about myself..
1) I have no kids, had a daughter that was born premature, and died 45 minutes after she was born... Never tried again, the pain was too much. so now I just tell everyone I couldn't have anymore, parents included... Hate lying to them, but way easier then hearing "when are you going to have a baby?".... Thankgod I'm too old now.....
2) Been seperated for 11 years now, never divorced... Thats my security blanket for now, until I'm strong enough not to need it anymore... Have not seen my x in 10 years, dont want too....
3) I'm VERY insecure about myself.... I dont like going where there's lots of people, and will avoid it at all costs... Am working on it everyday, but it's one of the hardest things I've ever had to change.... losing weight was the easy part.....
