Very similar to my question Melly. I was at my current weight thru a lot of years...as proven by the old clothes I found. LOL! But I was wondering if that is what is making me have to work harder to lose right now - like hit a curb - gotta give it a little gas.

Sherry I hae heard that happens. And that you can be stuck, or stalled if you prefer, because your body has this builtin memory.....and I think I have actually experienced. A year ago or maybe a littel more I was stalled for months. And as I look back I think I should have journaled my food and looked at that a littel closer. But instead I was desperate to lose and began Stillmans........
Well that was a lesson learned the hard way......never again. I lost very well on Stillmans....28 lbs to be exact. But when it was all said and done I regained most of it and I am convinced that it didn't do my metabolism any good either. So my plan is to continue to do what I know works and not try to make a science out of it or make it tough as brain surgery. Bottom line is that even if I hit a weight and get stuck....eating the Atkins way is healthy and even if I am not losing I am healthy. I do not believe that it was meant for me to be FAT my entire life. It will happen eventually ![]()

Hey Everyone,
I just woke up from a nap. I was getting a migraine after I got home from taking Rambo to the vets. He has sprung his spine and is really sore from trying to jump on the bed they gave him a steroid shot in his front leg and he's on meds.... I got up at 5AM this morning and got ready for my interview. I had everything all laid out and everything went smoothly, all the stress and worry was for nothing!!! When I got there we all went in and filled out paperwork and ANOTHER application. They drug test you by taking your hair!!! Well, I haven't had that done yet. My name was called and I had a 10 min SCREENING!!! That was all.... He told me that the next step is to take a test then a formal interview. This is going to drag out for a longgggg time. Yes, Melly I have also heard your body has a memory. Sometimes I wonder what they will come up with to explain a stall. Thanks to you all who wished me luck, keep me in your prayers still the fun isn't over yet!!! Jeanie

NuttCase......that type of interview process, in my opinion, is the sign of a good company. It shows that they care about the quality of people that they hire. They want people long term. Those types of companies normally take excellant care of thier employees and don't have a big turnover. The hair drug test is for people who think they can "study" for a drug test and pass. That type of test goes back 6 months and there is NO fooling it......sounds to me like a job worth having....Good Luck

Melly, yes it is a very good company to work for. I worked for them 7 years ago and it about killed me to quit. But, I had no choice. I had to take care of my babies and working 3rd shift with 3 small girls was so hard. Child care just isn't out there when your on 3rd shift and I was wearing my friends out. My Mother lived in VA and I have no brothers and sisters. Yes, I am the only Nutt!
But anyway the ex wouldn't keep them either, he wasn't going to do anything to help me out. I'm just going to try and make it through the interview process and hope and pray they give me another chance. I did leave on good terms and I just hope I can pass that test, I haven't taken a test in years. haha The pay starts out at $13.75hr and in 2 months moves up to $14.75 hr I sure could work with that. Melly, thanks for covering my back while I guard my scales, haha! I laughed so hard!
Sherry, yes there are certain set points the body recalls. Dr. Atkins writes about it in the book. Check out DANDR page 190 for help. There is more about the subject somewhere in the book too but I can't seem to locate it for you. Melly, I had no idea you were doing Atkins this time! WTG on you loss! Pizza, sorry I had no time to come to chat. When do you think you can go to chat again? We can make a time and date if you want. I do miss you! HN, miss you too! You will get the job--don't worry! Like I said--I know these things! OK, since we all know I am a scale addict and since Melly has me covered, today I am 201! Going down...<wavin to the rest and off to the treadmill> |

Lala 12 grams of carbs is not enough sweety......you need at least 20 and the majority of them need to come from veggies. Try posting your menu and let us tear it apart...uh I mean look at it
Are you still eating processed meats? The sodium in them could be the culprit. I know alot of people don't do well with sodium.....me included Hang in there girl......we will do this if it kills us.....and it might ![]() |

Lala...girl........can you say VEGGIES? Better yet..........can you buy some? In my honest opinion you need to be eating more salad....veggies.....veggies are your friend
Your protein doesn't look too bad but if it were me I would add salad at lunch and dinner ...... everyday!!!!! Throughout my losing I have always lost better when I ate alot of salad. And lets face it, noone ever got fat eating salad. I will often grill some chicken and cut it up and put it on my salad. I am not much of a cheese eater. I will put some in my scrambled eggs but that is about it. I have never had problems with cheese but I just had it drilled into me in the beginning to watch it so I always have. My suggestion is that you need more veggies.......eat away and enjoy. Some green tea would bee good too but everyone knows that I am a huge advocate of green tea....they really should be paying me royalties ![]() |

Hey girls. I was sick yesterday. Don't know what was wrong but just felt yucky. Tired, headachy, stomach ache. Today is better but not perfect.
I didn't eat much yesterday and I am down a pound but it probably won't last once I eat normally. I went to a beading class last night and made a necklace and earrings. I love them. It was fun. Later gaters |

Hi everyone :)
Thanks for all the nice comments about me in my dress. Of course, the night of the party hair and makeup was done better but you get the idea
![]() Hey, I think I'm stuck in one of those set-point ruts too no matter how long I seem to stay on track right now, nothing moves ![]() I don't know where my book is or I'd see if Dr A has anything to say on how to get out of said rut!!!! My atkinsaversary is tomorrow and since I lost for 12 months then maintained for 12 months, it's time to finally get to goal..my new goal, of 115! maybe 110..I'll have to see how much I like me with each 5 pounds LOL...don't think I've weighed 110 since I was about 14 ![]() HN...that does seem to be a drawn out process for the Frito Lay job but maybe like Melly said it's a good thing. I'm sure you'll do very well and I'd imagine your past track record with them will be to your advantage. I'll be rooting for you! Pizza..and congrats to you with your new job too! Sounds like you are blowing them away! Sherry..please try to not get discouraged. Like I said before..you have come such a long way already and look at the iron will you've developed! I grinned when I read about you hiding out in your room to avoid temptation...see? that's what I mean...you've learned coping strategies and you're making it happen! Never give up...your body may simply be going through a period of adjustment. Remember to keep up with the measurements. Those are what counts. About half way through my loss, the number on the scale all of a sudden wasn't moving but I wasn't stalled and how I discovered it was with a special dress. I had tried this dress on about a month before I had hoped to wear it..can't remember where I was going but it was somewher special. Anyway, the dress was still too tight to wear comfortably and with the scales not moving I didn't hold out much hope of it fitting when the day came that I actually needed to wear it. Expecting the worse, I put it on and you could have kocked me over with a feather! It was sooooooooo big on me that it hung like a burlap sack! It looked ridiculous! So, there was proof positive that by sticking to your woe, the inches do still come off even if the scale doesn't move! Even though I missed the boat entirely on wearing a very pretty dress, it felt really good and I gave it to my neighbour Lala..I'm with Melly...more veggies !!!! Otherwise, your menu looks great! KUTGW ![]() Hi to everyone else...gotta run now! Take care!!! |

I am doing somewhat better depression-wise...but probably being sick so long isn't helping either.
Increased my excercise again but being extra careful with my knees. AND staying on plan and sucking up the water. Hopefully all that will help - I'll let you all know later this week as me and my scale are having a battle of wills and I am going stick to it all and wait to weigh myself. Thanks Mandy for the pep talk...I guess I need to learn to look at the big picture, don't I? <GRINS while blushing> |

Well my days just keep getting more and more interesting LOL. Down another pound today. Either this exercise thing and CLA/GLA is working or it is because I have been feeling yucky and not eating as much. Either way I like it. I hope it sticks.
I have developed a rash on my legs and chest. I don't know what it is and it is kind of scarring me. I doesn't seem to itch or hurt but it is red. I hope that goes away soon because I don't want to have to go to the Dr. I am falling apart. Well, enough complaining from me. Thanks for listening. |

Aww, Red, sorry about the rash but I think I would see a Doc--especially since you say you are not feeling all that well.
Today is one whole week of the Fat Fast for me. This is the record! As of today I weigh in at 200 lbs even. By tomorrow or at least the day after I should be in onederland. I cleaned out my clothes drawers today and tried stuff on to see what fits and what doesn't. I was very surprised to see that some of the new shorts I bought last year are too big! I had no trouble with bagging them up along with other items to donate. Some are size 18, no less, making me wonder if I can't squeeze into size 16 now. Size 18 jeans still fit the same. My friend invited me to Disney World later this month. Her hubby works there and she has free tickets. I haven't been since I had kids to take so I am looking forward to spending a Disney day with adults. For sure I will get my 45 in--the place is huge! Two years ago I would have declined the invite because I would not have physically been capable of all the walking. My how things are changing... My original goal was to lose 100lbs which would put me at 163. I am 37 lbs from that goal. I can't believe it! So happy! |

I am actually working on a new chat icon.....it's a doxie but not sure how it will turn out.....we shall see. I am glad to hear that you are quitting your job. I know you hated it and I am confident that you will get the Frito job......things have a way of working out Sorry you are hving problems Red....don't wait too long to check it out. In the mean time some benadryl might help Tippy......you are rockin girl.....where has Getten been? Have you heard from her? I am off today and have spent the entire morning running errands and paying bills.....always a good time. Took Reesey to the Vet for her last vaccination and she doesn't have to go back until next month when she will be spayed I hate to put her thru that but we don't want any little puppy TOM's and we don't want puppies so that is just how it is. Went and got my nails done. Paid some bills. Went to the bank to make sure I'm not broke. Have to take Aliyah to the orthodontist at 3:30......she has something poking her in the back. BTW.....Reesey has grown......she is 5 months old and now officially weighs in at 5 lbs 8 oz......she is still very tiny OK off to visit my grandma for a bit and finish the rest of my errands....check back later ![]() |
