"All I Want For Christmas Challenge" week of November 6th
Hi everyone!!!
to our new week ![]() Unfortunately it looks like our newest two members decided to not join us afterall....what a shame..but we are all still here!!! So let's make this the best week yet! Tippy is going to provide us with this week's new exercise so, as the song says "Get on your bike and RIDE!" (OK..who knows what song that's from? hehehe) I've noticed fewer and fewer of us are actually posting exercise goals. These, like any other goals, need to be specific! So please post what you will aim to do for EACH day. Remember, you can't attain a goal you can't see. Menus and WOE goals...don't forget to post these too folks! ![]() Our list of weekly exercises is getting long now ..I LOVE that! For some, myself included, it is becoming a lot of things/reps to do three times a day...so tailor it to fit your schedules. You may wish to pick out certain exercises that target the areas you personally feel work or you may wish to divide them up..some M,W,F and the others T,Th, Sat ...see what works for you..but don't stop doing them!!! They are good for us all! I'm going to divide mine up as follows and perforn two sets each day: M,W,F: (Ball crunches 100, HN hate's me's 30, Dano flyers 10 each side) X twice a day T,Th: (Butt crunchers 50, Sherry's pelvic thrusts 50, Wallies 100, lunges 25 each leg) X twice a day The first week, I'll add Tippy Toe's new one each day ![]() And I will run at least three times this week..minimum 2 miles..prefereably 4-5 miles (time and weather depending) In terms of eating..I can see myself starting to stray..not to bad stuff but not keeping things as closely reigned in as I should be and my skinny jeans were actually a little snug when I put them on yesterday morning !!!!!!!!! I did NOT like that feeling! not one little bit! so..as af today..I'm doing a clean 14 days of induction and gettin' it together baby! Breakfast was 3 eggs and 5 strips of bacon ! (I'm on my way!!!) And I WILL NOT snack..that's what gets me into trouble every time ![]() So..with all that said..what are YOUR plans for the week? OK..next agenda item ..Recipes! So far we've done Thanksgiving, lunch and eggs...so this week lets share our favorite casserole type dishes. Something that can be made and provide the low carber of the house with several meals. I'm the only low carber in my house so I typically will make a dinner once a week that will make 5-6 servings and that I can aliquot and freeze in single servings. Is handy to pull out and after a few weeks, I have a nice little variety of meals to choose from. The single biggest bonus is it leaves me with no excuse to not eat the right thing since this way I ALWAYS have meal options. I'd also like each of us to help out those in our group who have reached the point where they need to watch fat and calories AS WELL as carbs. I'm not saying this will happen to us all, but for some of us it has. Perhaps if everyone could post one idea concerning a way to lower these without tossing out the basic principles of low carbing that would be a really great help! So now, I've babbled at you more than long enough, and we should , in the words of our Melly... Just DO the dayum thang!!!!!!!! I'm off now to then , listen to some and then head off to see Chicken Little with my daughter ![]() Remember everyone...Christmas is coming!!!! Happy weighing everyone! Hi guys.....
Well i have not been doing much "e" .I know I need to get with it ,but I have been working my tail off......Does that count? Seems ONe little job has turned into a major over haul. I have 2 houses turned inside out.... I started with my mom's room and it led to going through my brothers things that have been stored for15 years...............The Recue Mission was very happy tho. Saturday was the garage, which has all the kids stuff from their apartment ,when they were in college..Today it was all my dh's clothes and papers which took several hours. .THe good part is I will have alot to claim on my income taxes............ Well anyway.......I have been working like a dog and not getting too far.I guess I have too many things going on at once. MY food has been good. Had a salad of lettuce, tomato, cucumber, cut up pork rib, blue cheese and a little l/c coleslaw on top.........It was yummy.....Course I had it 3 nights in a row. I am working on my water.....about 40 more oz. to go. Mandy that veggie lasagna sounds good. I made pizza casserole for dinner but didn't eat it. I like it lefted over ,better. I hope to get back to curves, this week.........With the storm we just had the thought of walking makes me shiver....... well off to get some rest.............

Warning.................It is not low fat
brown sauage, hamburg ,add mushrooms, peppers, pepperoni,(any topping you like) pour in casserole dish with pizza sauce (any low carb sauce) top with mozzerella and bake 20 to 30 min. Til it bubbles.Too easy.......but the whole family loves it. |

Good Morning Everyone!! Beautiful day here in Sunny Florida!
The Fat Fast is officially over, thank God! Actually, I caved in last night. Mr. TT made that BIG FAT JUICY HAMBURGER I have been dreaming of... I begged for a bite, which he gave me. Then I just had to have one too! But no, that was the last of the hamburger and the rest was frozen. So I turned to the cheese... First I had just one slice of American. Then I went back and had a little chunk of cheddar. Then I went back and got the other chunk of cheddar and ate that too. The hamburger is defrosting on the counter now and you can bet I WILL HAVE ONE TODAY, lol, lol! But, the good news is, The Fat Fast did work. I did go back to 210, even after all that cheese... However, it was VERY hard to stick to. In the mornings I had a little brain fog and didn't feel great until I ate something. This is not something I look forward to, but I may have to resort to The Fat Fast once a month if I can't move the weight off any other way. 5 days was too long. 3 is plenty... Will be interesting to see if I can maintain what I lost on it. Starting a very clean induction today AND making a calorie cut back as well. Melly, I did try the green tea but hot tea of any kind makes my stomach sick and green tea was no exception, unfortunatly. OK, exercise of the week: I am the first to admit I hate exercise. But I got this idea from watching my tenant next door, who happens to be in great physical shape. Here it is... Go play with your kids for 30 min each day--outside if you can. Doesn't matter what you do as long as you are moving--whatever they like or are into--basketball, football, red light green light, ring around the rosey, tag, etc... Give them piggy back rides around the yard. No kids? Play with the dog instead or at the very least take the dog for a long walk. No dog? Take yourself for a long walk--try going somewhere new if you can. Parks are good, weather permitting but malls will also work. Next, I want everyone to park as far away from where they are going, including the office, grocery store, etc for the entire week... When you do go into any stores, I want you to walk (in a hurry) up and down every isle before you get a cart. If you have a child with you, carry him/her. Two kids? Even better... Then go back, get your cart and shop. One more thing: When you are sitting in that chair or couch watching TV I want you to tap your fingers and feet as much as possible. Cross your legs and swing that foot, etc... You get the idea... They say it ALL counts, right? ![]() |

I don't have a single recipe for a low carb and low fat casserole. Of course, this is my problem... Come on and post them--counting on you!

Good Morning Challengers!!
Sure sounds like lots of our members are going thru some "Challenges"...my thoughts and prayers are with all of you!! Mandy...I have been guilty of not posting enough and when I DO post...not listing my menu and exercises. I post my exercises for the WEEK on Monday morning and quite honestly...I DO NOT DEVIATE from my written plan. On that note...HOME GYM UPDATE!!! We got the floor in completely, leveled, and nicely tiled (this was a surprise from Rick, originally it was just gonna be a poured concrete floor but he got up Saturday morning and laid nice checkerboard blue and white tile down for me!!!) all we need to do now is to wax the floor then buff it and we can set up the gym system. I can't wait!! I have already gone out and put a treadmill and an elliptical trainer on layaway...can you say EXERCISE JUNKIE!!!! Once the gym is up I will re-develop my exercise plan and post it here. For now...this is my routine... M-W-F Total weight workout, UBWO with free weights (8, 10 & 12 lb weights) and LBWO using my own weight. For this I use HN's hates me (3 sets of 15=45), Sherry's pelvic thrusts (4 sets of 15=60) Melly's lunges (3 sets of 15=45) (although I lunge backward to take the stress off my knees) T-TH-SA 30 minutes/10 miles on the bike M-SA 100 crunches (alternating sets of 25 regular and 25 oblique using the stability ball) 200 wallies Now for my menu... B= 1/3 cup Designer Whey Protein Powder in 1/2 cup Carb Countdown EggNog...(OMG this is da BOMB!!) L= 3 boiled eggs with dash of mayo and some spicy mustard D= Cheeseburger patty, salad w/balsamic vinagrette and zuchinni and onions S= yogurt w/2 tblsp of flax meal (this at about 10:30a) 1 oz pecans (around 7p) WHEW....I hope this covers all my posting requirements for today...hehehe. It is getting SOOOOO close to Christmas, how many of us are on target for reaching our Christmas goal?? I myself am NOT although I imagine the addition of the gym will help to make my workouts more consistent which in the end should do the trick. I am currently at 21.5 % BF and the goal for me is to be at 18% by Christmas. I am currently looking at my menu as well to slightly lower the fat and increase the protein to protect my muscles from all the stress I put them thru. Ok...off to work for a bit, should be slow so maybe I can get back for a bit...or even into chat later!! Have a great day all!!!!

Good Monday Morning All!
Wow did I ever blow it since Thursday !!!!!! As promised back to atkins maintenance today ~ hopefully I dont have to take more drastic measures! Can't figure out why I'm letting myself eat like this ~ lotsa stress I guess ~ work very slow and its getting scary I guess !I FEEL UCKY BEYOND BELIEF ~ the first thought into my head when I woke up was WHY DID I DO THAT! I hate that feeling ~ I like waking up feeling like I'm continuing not starting over! I WILL ~ I CAN ~ I WANT OK enough about ME !TT ~ CONGRATS! Love hearing what works for ya! Can't wait to hear how ya do this week ~ I'm guessing MORE COMES OFF ! As for the exercise of the week ~ LOVE IT ~ I'm one of those people that do Wally World almost everyday and forget where I park all the time ~ how I have remedied that was I go to the exact middle of the two entrances (where it says SUPERCENTER) and always go up that isle and just keep going til I hit the first available space ~ that keeps me pretty far from the entrances and now I dont EVER loose my car and I dont ever get frustrated finding a parking space anymore!Sinny ~ u been a very busy girl ~ doesn't it feel good to get stuff cleaned up and organized ![]() Sherry ~ Where ya been all weekend??????? Actually I'm kinda scared to ask now that the goats are gone! <waving to Melly> Take care all and look forward to seeing u all post! I am gonna think of some recipies to add but trying to get food off the mind for the moment But I'll add something I promise! to all! |

I made it through the weekend. My DH and I got all the concrete hauled out of the basement, through the back yard, into the pickup and out to the dump. We hauled about 3,000 lbs of concrete out in 40-50 lb five gallon buckets. My arms and back were sore but my legs weren't too bad. I have black and blue marks all over my body though from the buckets hitting my legs and such.
Broccoli Casserole (not low fat, sorry) 2 (10-ounce) packages frozen chopped broccoli, cooked and drained 1 cup mayonnaise 1 cup grated sharp cheddar 1 (10 3/4-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup or Linda Sues cream of mushroom soup 2 eggs, lightly beaten Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with vegetable oil cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, combine broccoli, mayonnaise, cheese, soup and eggs. Mix well with a metal spoon. Place the mixture in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 35 minutes or until set and browned. |

LOL@ Pizza!
And Mandy, you were right about the "Go out and ride your bike thing"! Just thought of that. No kids to ride with? Then you be the kid again! I am going out for a hiarcut, a manicure and pedicure as reward for sticking out the fat fast. I WILL park far away and walk, walk, walk! Having a tour of the grocery store and produce stand too... When I get home I am going to play "fetch the stick" with the dog. He sure will be surprised when I run after the stick too! Now if I can just teach him to throw it for me... |

Hey guys.........everyone is so perky this morning....that motivates me beyond belief......I love positive people....negativity is like a cancer and it breeds.
My scales are on the way back down.....I am losing!!!!!! Of course I am up so I have a few to lose before I am officially back to losing and on track but its moving in the right direction. Darrell leaves on Friday for California and won't be back until the 19th so Aliyah and I will be having some quality Mommy and Baby Girl time Tippy your exercise is the best one I have heard to date. Not only is it great for us physically but spiritually and emotionally as well. And this is about more than just exercising our bodies......we need to exercise our minds too. Sandi congrats....I know you have been wanting to get that exercise room going for a while. Sounds like you are almost there. Well I will try to post a new picture soon......I have cut my hair AGAIN.....and it is SHORT!!!!!!!! It is also back to my "natural" color which is dark......quite interesting to say the least. My daughter loves it and I think Darrell thinks he is getting some strange OK guys I will check back later.....gotta get some work done ![]() Last edited by Melly : 11-07-2005 at 09:28 AM. |

I restarted my excercises on fri. Did them sucessfully thru the weekend...ended up skipping mon am as I forgot a dr appt...I had to be in town by 8:45am and had 1 1/2 hour drive first. Now that was a fast shower! LOL Appt took until noon and I actually did christmas shopping by myself afterward. Couldn't afford anything but making a "maybe" list...... Will post new excercise goals later or tomorrow as the dr had me change somethings... |

Hey Everyone,
Today was catch up day on my rest. I had a headache yesterday all day at work and today on my first day off I wake up with a migraine! I finally got rid of it about 5 PM. Makes me mad to waste one of my days off laying in the bed. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Sunday was Jessie's 15th Birthday and Tim took her to the store and bought her a 6mp digital camera that even takes videos. She wants to be a photographer and no better time to start out but now on getting in good practice. Below is a pic of the Birthday girl.I am down 5lbs I knew this job would work my arse off. I scanned 1,213 items yesterday and went way over production. I can't wait to see next weeks check. The more you scan the more you make! I do alot of pushing, pulling, lifting, as well as scanning. So 5lbs lost in 2 weekends means I should be at goal before New Years??? LOL I wish!![IMG] [/IMG]
