OK..I'll go first..again!

My exercise:

Monday-Friday: 20 minute cardio (treadmill running) + 3 sets or our weekly exercises each day
Wed & Thurs: above + 30 minutes resistance machines

lengthy dog walking whenever possible

I miss doing a few long runs each week but with the darker mornings and colder wet weather I'm back to the treadmill, but 2 miles a day is still ok

So...Melly, if you're here you're up to give us a move this week! Fly at us girlie!

The kids and I will be carving pumpkins tonight I'm so looking forward to that

Food for today: (ok but lots of room for improvement )

Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 sausage, cheese and half of a very tiny apple
Lunch: 4 poached eggs, cheese, cauliflour and snow peas
Dinner will be broiled lamb ribs, brocolli

C'mon everyone..post!

Mandy

My egg recipe contribution :)

Baked Gingerbread Egg Custards

2 eggs
½ C heavy cream
½ C cold water
1 package splenda
¼ cup da vinci gingerbread syrup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Combine all ingredients and whisk together very well. Pour into three ovenproof custard cups and place these into a pan of water (water should come ½ to 1 inch up sides of custard cups). Bake until knife inserted in center comes out clean…approximately 30-40 minutes. Top should be golden brown. Nicest served warm. Makes 3 servings.

Total carbs per serving = 2

And one to use up those yolks :)

BLENDER HOLLANDAISE SAUCE

3 egg yolks
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/4 tsp. salt
Dash of cayenne pepper
1/2 c. butter

Put egg yolks, lemon juice, salt and cayenne in blender jar. Heat butter in small pan until bubbly. Do not burn. Cover blender and whirl at high speed for 2 or 3 seconds. Remove center section of cover or entire cover and at high speed pour in hot butter in a thin, steady stream. It will take about 30 seconds. Don't use residue in pan.
Leftover Hollandaise may be kept refrigerated in a tightly covered jar 2 or 3 days. Don't let it stand around in warm temperature. To re-use, heat in top of double boiler over barely simmering water and stir constantly

What started out as an experiment is incredibly delish!!!!!

You may remember me posting a few days ago about an egg recipe using 3 eggs, 3 tbsp heavy cream, 1 pkg splenda and some cinnamon. Turns out like little thin crepes that i rolled after brushing with melted butter and sf pancake syrup. Well, I had been eating them with whipped cream and fresh cranberries but decided to do something different for breakfast tomorrow.

In a small saucepan I put 1/2 cup blueberries, 1/4 cup sf torani white chocolate syrup and brought it to a boil. I removed the berries with a slotted spoon and to the remaining liquid I added 1 oz cream cheese and whisked until very smooth...I added the berries back in and simmered it, stirring often, until it thickened up a bit. It thickens even more as it cools. It tastes amazing and will top my breakfast crepes beautifully in the morning I'm sure any sf syrup would work..white chocolate was simply the closest one at hand when I was doing this. Even sf pancake syrup would be great. I'll warm is slightly so I can pour it on.

Sometimes I amaze myself!!!!

WE LOST!!! our team that is!!!

...but we are over it for the most part !

Caught up on everyone's post ~ Mandy u r entertaining ! Love the Halloween page and your recipies sound so ummy all the time ~ I dont have any gingerbread sf syrup WISH I DID WOW would that custard hit the spot!!! What did you top your baked yam with...sf pancake syrup? I made homemade hollindaise sauce awhile back and it did not turn out ~ I know its tricky ~ I use the Knorr packet mix (like maybe twice a year) and it turns out wonderful every time ~ we love it on salmon...it's also very good on chicken..your recipie may just work though (i did a stove top version) do you think my handheld whip blender would work?

TT ~ interesting about all the fat/lowfat, calorie intake etc...conversation! I'm sure everyone has learned something new as I have...and just when you think u have it all figured out! LOL! I am there where Mandy is and do have to watch calories but I personally dont find anything I eat legal is too calorie laden anyway I dont and never have counted calories (or anything else much for that mattr) just can tell on my own I guess when enough is enough

Sherry - Canning bologna?????

Crado - Congrats on the new baby the smell of new babies!

OK Melly! I'm ready for the new exercise of the week girl ~ where are ya!

The weekend was fine eating wise ~ water bad though (lotsa liquid but it wasn't water ) did have two bottled waters yesterday though and exercise was non-exsistent ....so common Melly waiting for you before I start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok thats all for now ~ gotta go make my way to the laundry - wow piles and piles...everyone changed a million times this weekend from football clothes, to sat. night clothes then halloween goofy stuff back to work clothes mmmm and already on 4th load this morning and its only 8:00 and outta laundry soap (store not open yet) and also outta toilet paper down to using napkins and there are only a few of them left

k ya all and get in here and post!

Wow - what a weekend. Worked on my parents floor. Should have been a lot of exercise. Up, down, up, down, up, down. My knees are killing me.

Yesterday's food:
Breakfast: 2 breakfast burritos from McD's w/o the tortillas
Lunch: a few peanuts
Dinner: steak and broccoli
snack: LC ice cream

Today:
Breakfast: string cheese
Lunch: cole slaw and 3 pieces summer sausage
Dinner: burger or chicken from a burger place or a subway wrap (have to eat fast to start trick-or-treating)

I am not a water drinker. I do not forsee myself ever becoming one. Sorry. I know it would be good to drink water but I am a Diet Coke addict. I am not ready to give it up yet...or even cut down.

Yesterday's exercise was laundry, dishes, cleaning, shopping, and a few pushups.

Hi from Italy1

Hi Elves!

You getting by OK without me? Sure seems like maybe Mandy is the only doing any of the posting... come on, get in here and get busy! You're all slacking off! Yeah yeah, I know I am too but I have an excuse, I'm 5000 miles from home!

The trip has been going well so far, Turkey as a nice, quick visit with lots of seafood and some fresh fruit along with salad for every meal. I didn't jog in Turkey, but I hit the elliptical machine here in Italy twice, and I plan to jog tomorrow morning since it's a national holiday. I'd love to tell you I have been avoiding the carbs since I've been in Italy but that would just be a bald faced lie so I'll just say I've been having veggies too, and trying to exercise! I have avoided the wine though, which was my big fear coming into this trip since everyone here remembers me as a drinker!

We're off to a halloween party here in a few minutes, I'm not sure where it is or who will be there but it sounded better than watching Fox news on TV all night! The weather was good the first few days but turned cold and misty today. The work part of the trip has been busy, I hope tomorrow to go visit a lake that's about an hour north and see some sights. That will probably be the extent of our touristing!

Anyway, if I can try to be good while I'm in the carb capital of the world, you all can do your part too! I want to see some posts when I check in again, do your exercise, and keep the goal in mind. less than two months gang, we can do this thing!!!

Oh, that1redhead, just replace one diet coke a day with water. Yes, you have to. Yes, because I said so

Ciao Grazie!

Dan

Now, after I did that it gave me a reply box...

Mandy, you were right. I sent you an email yesterday. Today's weight is a lb less and I was careful about lowering my fats and calories. Had a shake for breakfast and went to Red Lobster with a gf for lunch. Normally I would have had the platter broiled and dipped everything in butter but I decided to pass and had a salad with grilled chicken and walnuts & vinagrette dressing instead. Thanks for helping me get going again! I am so thankful for finding low carb friends. There is no better support group, IMHO.

Food is OK. I have boneless chicken breasts for dinner tonight. Any good ideas on how to prepare them? I want to try something new.

Watched a good movie and went to bed...had a rough day though yesterday. All the Christmas $$ went down the tubes when ds killed a spider on the windshield of the car while I was driving...I looked over horrified to see a big crack spreading! Oh dear!!
Almost $300 to replace it.
Excercises done and working hard on the water...

It's me....it's really me!!!!!

Well here I am.......yes yes yes I know I'm late and been M.I.A. I have had alot going on between work and home but all is well. Just been too busy to get on here and post.

Food is good.....exercise is good.....life is good. I lost 2 lbs last week I didn't forget about posting my menus but I don't think I have posted since I posted my breakfast menu the one day I began posting Anyway.....lost 2 lbs so it obviously is working

OK....exercise....hmmmm......I have been appointed I see Well.......something that we can all do. Whatever shall it be. OK here goes. Stand behind a chair and do leg lifts. It is very simple but effective. Do both sides and front and back. Make sense? Lift as high as you are able but idealy you want to lift where your leg is horizontal. I usually do at least 1 set of 10 and try to do 3 sets of 10. For those that have difficulty doing this......lay on the bed and do it if you are unable to stand OR just do whatever you can. This is a good exercise for alot of areas......leg muscles, back, hip and butt. The more you do the better it feels and the more it helps.

OK now on to the drama of the day......We had D R A M A at our house last night and it was awful. I will make another posst about it and if you want to read you can but I am mainly venting so don't feel obligated. Be back with the next post to fill you in

D R A M A......

OK so my sister calls me as I was on my way home from work last night and asked me what I was doing. Well I reminded her, as she already knew, that I was taking my daughter and neighbor and some kids to church for Fall Fest. Well the reason she wanted to know was because she wanted to bring my nephew Jourdan over to see our puppy.

Now in order for you to understand this post I have to fill you in on my sister and nephew. My nephew is actually my brothers child but my sister has had him since birth. She spent the majority, 75%, of his life addicted to Meth so needless to say she has not been much of a mother to him and his behavior reflects that. Even now that she is clean that part has not changed. She "proclaims" to be a Christian and attends church every time the doors are open. But I dare say that doesn't get you into Heaven. There has yet to be a family function that they have attended that he has not found a way to ruin. He has a nasty mouth and the "F" word is like you and I use the word "and"......very regular. And he doesn't mind who he says it in front of.....grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins....doesn't matter.

OK so back to last night.......I told her she could call me later and they could stop by. So she called me as I was leaving church and we were in the gymnasium and there were alot of kids and I said let me call you when I get out of here and can hear.

So when I got to the car I called and she was actually sitting in my driveway. So I called Darrell and told him they were there and I would be home soon and I overheard her tell my nephew to go knock on the door......this is where my story begins.......

Jourdan goes to the door and begins knocking hard and fast and nonstop like he was the police or something....and ringing the bell nonstop while he was at it. Well that would be enough to irritate me but Darrell opens the door and lets him in and didn't say anything.

When I get home they had been there for about 10 or 15 minutes and I guess Jourdan was being a butthead from the time he walked in the door...."that's a stupid dog" , "I wouldn't pay money for anything so stupid" , "why are we here" , "I want to go home".

So when Aliyah and I get home we are visiting and my sister has Reesey on her lap and Jourdan is playing with Aliyahs plastic slinky. My sister lays Reesey on Jourdans lap and he takes her and THROWS her down on the floor. Now in case you guys have forgotten, she is 3 lbs and tiny and a baby. Well Darrell, Aliyah and I all 3 at the same time yell "DON"T THROW HER".

So a few minutes pass and Aliyah looks over and notices her slinky is now broken in 2 pieces and laying on the floor and says something to him about it. He denies that he broke it and Aliyah says yes you did and thumps him on the side of the head. BTW....Jourdan is 16 and Aliyah is 10. Jourdan kicks Aliyah. Darrell speaks up, since my sister has yet to say one single word about any of this, and says "You don't kick her and why did you break her toy". Jourdan says I didn't break it and Darrell says it was fine when you picked it up and now its broke and you are the only one that has touched it. Jourdan says "I didn't break the F***ing toy."

OMG I have never in the entire time I have known Darrell seen him so mad. He stands up and tells him to get out of the house and to never come back. He said you don't have any respect for anyone or anything and leave. They are walking toward the door by this point and every other word out of Jourdans mouth is "F" and Darrell is just telling him to leave.

By the time my sister and I get outside they are in the yard and Jourdan is yelling and screaming, OMG the neighbors , and is threatening Darrell over and over. He keeps bumping Darrell with his chest and Darrell keeps trying to walk away. The last time he came at Darrell he raised his fist as though he was going to hit him and Darrell grabs him by the chest and slams him to the ground!!!!!! He did not hit him but he did slam him to the ground. Now my sister finds her mouth and voice and says.....You need to back off he is a child. Darrell told her that if he acts like a man and talks like a man and comes at him like a man he better be prepared to get treated like a man. He then told her that she needed to teach her son some repsect and that he is not welcome in his house again. Now Jourdan is up and still yelling profanities and threatening Darrell....but.....praise God......they leave.

Darrell was very upset when he came in the house and appologized to me for me having seen him like that but that he would not allow anyone to be disrepectful or act that way in our house, especially not some punk kid. He wanted me to call my sister and say he was sorry but it wasn't my place to call and tempers were still too hot for anymore conversation.

This is crazy for us because we are a dramafree house and there is never any arguing of ANY kind, much less all of that.

Darrell feels terrible. I think he is most worried about what my family will think but they have all experienced outbursts like that with Jourdan and they all know that Darrell is very quiet normally. I talked to my uncle this morning and he said I can't believe he didn't punch him in the mouth. My mother called Darrell at work and told him not to be upset, it wasn't his fault and that we all know how Jourdan can be.

This kid has been in a lot of trouble and I dare to say those days are not over. I have not heard from my sister today, who normally calls me several times a day. I know her well enough to say that she will make Darrell out to be the bad guy but again as I said before we all have seen Jourdan in action so we all know how he can be. Personally I feel like both Jourdan and my sister owe us all an appology but I know that will never happen

So that was my drama......it made me sick to my stomach. I HATE drama. Especailly involving family.

Anyone have any opinions? Feel free
