Hi everyone. Sorry I've been so absent the last little while. Time just seems to get away from me. I'm doing much better. Sleeping better and back to eating well. I appreciate you all for your support. Today I get to relax. I'm just staying in my PJ's all day and working on some small projects. I hope you are all having a great weekend.

Biggest Loser Challenges for October

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Just three more months to go! Have you learned new habits or discovered things about yourself that will help you continue with this WOE and WOL after the end of the year? 25 points for writing about this on your team thread.

2. Small bits of exercise throughout the day can add up to big losses. Give yourself 5 points for each day that you walk somewhere instead of driving. This includes parking at the edge of the parking lot instead of in the closest space and things like that. This is sort of vague, so you'll have to decide for yourself what counts. The idea is to get in some extra exercise.

3. 2 points per day for posting your menu on your team's thread. An extra 40 points (total for month is 100 points) if you post your menu every day. October 1 is a freebe, since this is getting out so late.

4. This is a special Halloween challenge, but the points will have to come in November. Next month, give yourself 100 points if you haven't eaten any Halloween candy in either October or November. Not a single itty bitty tiny little piece!

I have decided to eat only raw food for the month of October so I stocked up on fruits, veggies, and raw nuts this weekend. Should be interesting.

I like the challenges this month. Going to do whatever I can to rack up the points this month.

Here's my menu today (not a good one!)

B: Apple crisp
L: PB&J sandwich, veggie chips, and some grapes
D: tortilla chips with 5 layer mexican dip
S; more apple crisp (its gone now thankfully!)

Goodnight

Hey Laurie-I hope you didn't feel high and dry.I just had a late day. I also like the October challenges. I'm also getting back to basics with my eating. Today I'm doing a water fast to try to detox all the crap I've been eating. So my menu has been 150 OZ of water. I'm feeling a lot better. I'll try to be more present this month. Have a great night.

I found ya!...It is easier for me now than in the beginning, but I just need to get to the web site. Well..what a week!. Let's see, I was shocked about my weight gain. that was an eye opener. But the biggest surprise was my biss asked me to take on a new job that was a HUGE promotion. It is like...last week I answered to the managers, this week I am the managers boss!. It was all a very nice surprise, but I was so shocked and it took me a few days to just settle into it all. I amthrilled, but it is a lot of work.
One of my great learnings about myself in the last while is that I use work to eat. BY that I mean, I keep real busy so I can justify the snacking, I am too tired, so it is ok becasue I worked so hard to eat something fast and totally off the plan. This new job and these three months will be quite a challange for me.
Hence, I LOVE the challanges and feel that recording my food and really working at this plan will be a good start.
How are you guys? I loved reading your days plan, Laurie...You just do it. I love that aout you. It is so inspriing. And then there is Bobbi.."Water fast" and doing better. WOW ! I am in the presence of greatness.
Take care. Talk tomorrow. althought i am on the road, so tomorrow night if I am not here, you know why.

B

CONGRATULATIONS! Brenda. I'm so happy for you. I was really glad to hear from you. Laurie-You are awesome. I don't know how I would be able to keep all those balls in the air while eating right. You are quite an inspiration.
I'm on day 2 of the water fast. I am still having sugar cravings. That means I'll go, at least, one more day. It really helps me to get back on track, after a few days of water fasting whatever I eat is great. Well, I'm off to bed. Good Night.

Brenda...Congrats!!!! and I am happy you found us. I was beginning to worry about you!

Bobbi...You always seem to know what to do to keep yourself on track. I admire that!

I did great with food again today. It's funny because even while eating all this fruit I am not having cravings like I do when I eat strict Atkins.

B: watermelon
S: apples, grapes, almonds
L: pistachios, raisins
D: veggie salad, steamed broccoli and cauliflower

Off to do some homework and watch baseball...Go Boston!!!!!

Laurie- I'm the same way, fruit never gave me cravings. Just the opposite, when I was wanting something sweet it kept me on track. Good job today. Today was water again. Tomorrow I'll be having just vegetables and fruit. The next day I'll add meat back in. Well I'm off to bed. Good Night!

Wow Laurie-how cool. You've worked so hard to get to this point. It must be very satisfying. I'm doing well, but didn't keep really good track of my menu and I'm too tired to think it through. I'll post again tomorrow. Good Night.

Brenda...if you go to quick links sort of near the top of the screen you can go right to subscribed threads...then you don't have to search for anything. Its easier that way.

I did weigh myself this morning and I have lost 5 pounds this week. I am so far though from where I was that it will be awhile before I can actually claim it for the challenge.

I am proud of myself though that I had pizza last night but didn't use it as an excuse to just eat anything...it was a 1 time occasion.

I will be back later to post my menu for the day

Welcome back Brenda. I've missed you. I haven't weighted yet-I'll be weighing next Friday. I'm having a strange weekend and have not been as good with food as I'd hoped to be. Too much family and social occasions. Well I'll write later. Have a great day.

Brenda...Thanks for the support. Yes, I did get a sense of thats where I belong when I was caring for my patient. She was a hoot...talked constantly and needed to be redirected alot. A simple question would turn into a story about her house or her dog. She was in the hospital for congestive heart failure and cellulitis and had already been there for over 2 weeks. She was 60 years old and very big...313 lbs. Fortunaltely she was able to get herself out of bed and walk to the bathroom using a walker. I really enjoyed the experience and look forward to the next time.

I ended up eating a handful of animal crackers last night....I immediately started having cravings after dinner....I wonder if meat gives me cravings??? I have been fine all week with just fruit, veggies, and nuts...not one craving at all and as soon as I had chicken I was craving sweets all night long.

oh well....its a new day.

Hey guys..it is Sunday night and tomorrow is Canadian Thanksgiving. Like yours in November, it can be a challange food wise. I am cooking thouhg, so have planned lotsa of veggie dishes and of course, turkey will be fine. I am not a potato eater so that is no problem...BUT...there are home made fresh rolls ( we call them buns, but my American frineds laugh) and pumpkin pie, no problem. So... stay posted for the results!. I was conscious about water today and as always, feel I have more energy.
For today:
B: one egg, 1 sausage pattie

L: cheese (2 ounces, water)

D: chicken breast
ceasar salad
mushrooms

Nighty, night

Hi. Well I'm doing well today. Life has been so crazy these past few weeks. I had that trial, that still hasn't ended, and my father passed away last week. We weren't really close and he had been ill for a long time so it was definately a good thing. I have still had quite a hard time. I think it may have been too much all at once. It has been hard to even think about my eating and deal with all the other emotions. I am getting back on track once again and will do better. I hope all is well with you both. Have a great night.

Brenda...happy thanksgiving....hope you had a great day with family.

I messed up food wise again today...I just don't know why I can't keep it together for more than a few days.

Menu:
B: veggie soup
L: PB&J on wheat, sunchips
D: HM pizza with ground beef, mushroom, peppers and onions...and sauce and cheese of course.

need to go study for a test tomorrow...goodnight ladies

Well, One day at a time, right? I'm doing well today. Food wise I stayed on plan. My emotions are all over the place right now, but I'm hanging in. When I weigh at the end of the week all I hope for is that I didn't gain. I'm going to work hard for the rest of the week and hope it will be enough. Thanks for your continued support.
