***Forever Foxes***
I hope the sticky works, I've never done it before
I really don't have much to say in the way of personals...had a very bad night. Things got bad with DS (Justin) and DH (John) does DH have to mean "dear husband" because I'm thinking of a better meaning at the moment. I really wish I could discuss this on here, but I really can't... My menu: B-LC shake L-tuna salad D-dunno yet S-2 slices of bologna w/mustard 100+ ounces of water No exercise, had too much going on... I will say...Chip and Monica...your pic of Nancy was just too funny Also Chip...my recipe for the General Tso's sauce...ummm it was a bottle of something It got thrown away so I can't even tell you the brand.Well, that's about it for me... ![]()

Thanks for starting the new thread Tina! I actually have little else to say
I exercised. I'm right now eating a salad for lunch...I still haven't tried to make nice with my colleague, but there's still a few hours left in the day. |

Wishing you all a great weekend.
Tina -- "D" in "DH" doesn't always mean "dear" for me either. Kudos to staying on plan. Lauren -- Play it be ear and see how it goes...go with your instinct. Just got back from Costco so stocked on chicken. I bought some flavored water made by Nestle (no it isn't chocolate flavored)...0 everything and made with Splenda -- I had a coupon so thought I would give it a try. I hope I like them because I have A LOT!! I also noticed that my Walmart stopped carrying the Carbwell salad dressings

apparently I didn't know exactly what a "sticky" was and I didn't do one, but whatever...we have a new thread...
![]() Someone has to tell me what a sticky is.... ![]() Dinner turned out to be...LC "pizza" on a LC tortilla w/mozzerella and some cut up breakfast sausage. Was OK, but I put alittle too much garlic salt on it... ![]() Last edited by tina1973 : 09-16-2005 at 06:12 PM. |

Hi foxes!
Today was another rainy day in Alaska. I looked at a newspaper today and found that while for the past few months rainfall has been less than normal, of course in September it is double what it normally is. Oh well. It's still beautiful here and I am having a great time. We traveled over to Nikiski (aka North Kenai) today. That's the town where there are a lot of petroleum facilities, including some refineries. I got to see where Dan works (at an oil company called Tesoro). It's a very industrial area, also with a fertilizer plant and other stuff. We all went out after that to see the movie "Just Like Heaven." It was a good show. The movie theater has far fewer screens than I'm used to (3 at this place, vs 12-24 at most places in Maryland). But of course, you can only see one movie at a time so I guess it doesn't make much difference. It also has a "cry room" for parents with small kids, which is something I hadn't seen before. Kinda neat. I'm about to throw Monica's radio out the window, because the radio plays about 8 songs over and over and over and over and over again. Except from 7 pm - 9 pm, where they play miscellaneous weird stuff. Tomorrow, rain or shine, we are heading to Homer! (Not Simpson - a small town on the southern part of the Kenai peninsula.) It has this small peninsula of its own, which they call the "Homer Spit" ... which I personally find amusing, but maybe that's just me. We'll check out whatever wildlife we can see and visit a museum or two, and more touristy shops, and get some great food. That'll be an all-day trip, so we'll post a bit when we get back. I PM'd Cheri about stickifying this thread, so hopefully it'll be done soon (if not already when you read this). Thanks Cheri! ![]() Monica says hi. She's a bit tired so she'll be off to sleep soon. The kids were ummmm "entertaining" in the car. She is definitely a busy mom. That's it for now - have a great day foxes! ![]() - Chip

Good Morning Foxes!!
I slept pretty well.....only woke about 4 times last night. Then I was up at 6:30 for the day. My arm pits are now irritated from the rx deodorant, maybe I should not have done it again last night. Definitely not doing it again tonight. On the way home yesterday afternoon, it was raining hard. A car, in front of the guy ahead of me, decided at the last second to make a turn. However there was oncoming traffic, so he just quickly put his signal light on and then slammed his breaks on. I tried to stop, but slid. So I tried to go around but there was a car coming up on my right. So I continued to try to stop, while sliding. It was nerve wracking, I thought I would hit the guy in front and push him into the "turning" guy, which would throw the "turner" into oncoming traffic. I wasn't too sure the guy coming on my right would be able to go around me, as I was now in both lanes of traffic. By God's grace, I only bumped the man in front of me!! The other guy got around me and Mr "Turner" went on his merry way!!! There was no damage to the SUV I bumped and no damage to me. So we also went on our merry ways....the man I bumped was very nice. I am thanking God for His favor!! Anyway, then we went to get wings. Now I do not like wings, but they have boneless "wings". So I ordered them, but the boneless ones are already coated. So I ran to the grocery store in the plaza to get myself something for dinner. I picked up a pack of crabmeat and some fresh mozzerella. I did not eat my salad from lunch, so I brought it home and mixed it with my salad. My blood sugar was 149 (which is high for not eating) before dinner. I was starting to feel groggy about 8, so I took my b.s. again and it was 309!! What I did not realize was that the crabmeat was imitation and filled with junk!!! Holy cow!!!! I have not been eating carbs so my b.s. would go back down. Then with one careless purchase, I send it skyrocketing!! I may as well have had a candy bar! This morning it was 220, which is way too high for a morning reading. So I guess I will take a few more days of no carbs to get my b.s. back down again. ACK!!! If it is not one thing, it's another. I guess you can tell by my post, I am not "me" quite yet. I am still off, but not as down as I was. Well I have no time for personals, have to go shower and get ready for breakfast. We are going to the diner, so I will get an omelette and coffee. Talk to you all later!! |

Hi all,
I'm heading to the gym for the super workout. I will do the whole thing today...I hope I get energized as the morning goes on because I'm sure not feeling it right now. I'm at "my" house again...It's actually my friend's house but I'm over here so much, I feel like it's mine. He gets to pay the bills...it's the perfect arrangement. I haven't read any of the new thread so I will be back later to catch up. After the workout, I'm going to a football game where my friend's daughter is playing in the band. I hope everyone has a great Saturday! |

Good morning!!!
Chip and Monica - Even with the rain sounds like you all are having fun. Can't wait to see more pics. Nancy - Sounds like an angel was on your shoulder. Thankfully it wasn't more serious Take care of yourself today -- I am thinking about yaRhonda -- Hope works speeds by for you today. I think I am getting out voted about the arts/crafts deal...oh what a surprise...I should just go by myself Tarsha - Have fun at the game!!! Tina - The pizza sounds like a good idea -- I gotta keep that in mind Kim - A big Howdy to you We woke up to a nice cool morning so we took the dog walking already. I can't wait for the cooler weather to last past 8:00!!! My 2 step kids are over this weekend -- coincidentally they both have birthdays and decided to come see their dad. One turned 18 and one turns 15 so we will find something to entertain them today. We won't see them again until Christmas -- not by our choice...they only have interest in us a birthday and Christmas time. Will take them somewhere for lunch -- I suspect a pizza buffet place is on the list so I am going to really try to just have the salad and maybe just pizza toppings. B - 2 eggs scrambled, cheese, chicken Focus on water today, keeping on plan and eating right ENJOY THE DAY |

So, as I'm sure you've all gathered, my mood is often dictated by what clothes I fit in. I have a pair of goal jeans I keep in the bathroom cabinet to use as a status check, since they're more telling than the stupid scale. Since my weight has been fluctuating so much lately, there have only been a few days over the past couple months that they've fit well enough for me to wear them out. Today was one of those days, and of course, I was feeling pretty proud of myself.
Well, apparently Sloanie thinks that I was being a little too vain. She came along and climbed onto my lap, all chatterbox and happy. But in her babbling, she neglected to mention that her diaper was leaking all over the place!!! I'll see what happens in the laundry, but I think I might need a new pair of goal jeans ![]() So begins my Saturday. It's just now 8 a.m. We don't have much planned. The morning is all about Corwin: library, writing class, then we'll grab Dan and have some lunch before Sloane and I go to the hospital for the rest of the afternoon. Have a lovely Saturday, folks! |

Nancy..so glad both you and the car are ok... Hope your blood sugar has gone down..Take Care...Work was ok..I feel like we really helped one of the family members of a client today...My heart just went out to her..So now I'm home..tired and hungry..Will be eating a couple of cheesburgers[no bun] in a bit...

B-cheese omelette L-hot dogs S-cheese D-a bunless cheeseburger and veggies 12 days of no carbs for me. My blood sugar at one point today got down to 139. I was happy about that!! Breakfast with my friend was great. I love getting together with her, she is such an encouragement. Rhonda~that is awesome about you helping a family!! I am sure that it is a very rewarding part of your career. Sorry it is still hot....when does it cool down? We just got over our humid spell, thanks to Ophelia. Today it actually broke and I have the windows open, it is so nice! Diane~did you go to the arts and crafts show? I would have gone with you....That stinks about how the kids come for gifts. Glad you got your walk in this morning. When it does get cool, how cool does it get? Lauren~glad the jeans fit you today!! Tarsha~how was the workout? So you're house sitting again? How nice!! Chip, Monica, Kim and Tina. Hope you had a great day!! |

Well, I think I will have a loss to report come Monday
I have been cheat-free for 4 days Today's menu: B-eggs and bacon L-hot dog w/mustard D-spaghetti squash w/butter S-cheddar cheese and turkey roll-up Thanks Chip for making this a sticky...now I'll know how to do it next time Lauren...Congratulations for getting into your goal pants...sorry about Sloaney Boloney messing them up for you You needed some new ones anyway right... but who needs an excuse to go shopping?Kim...how's your weekend going? I went to my cousin's today and she was canning butternut squash. She showed me her rows of canned stuff and it made me think of you. Funny how we follow each other off the boards...nice too Nancy... I am SOOO glad God was watching over you and kept you safe. Sorry about the reaction to your deorderant...is that a side effect that will go away? Chip...sorry you're having trouble with Monica's radio I don't think she'd appreciate if you threw it out the window. There is such a thing as the tuner dial, you know Tarsha...I hope you had fun at the game and at your super saturday workout. Feels good to back in a routine, doesn't it? Hope you get some time to read and post.... Rhonda...doesn't it feel great when you know you've helped someone? You've helped me out alot this past week. Things seem to be ok, thank you Diane...give me a LC tortilla, flatbread, pita and I can concoct just about anything. I usually have to have some cheese too Hope you had fun with your step kids. Teeneagers are hard to amuse some times, Usually it takes money to make them happy Monica...how are you? Busy with school? Not to mention your houseful of kids ![]() I got the application for the college closest to me. I talked to some other people and it seems it has a very good reputation as well. The reason it has a mediocre rep at my job is because only one nurse went to it and she isn't the greatest. But I now have talked to 3 different people who went there and they say it's great. It's the college of choice for many of the hospitals near me. I'm still applying to both colleges and will pick the one that wants me or whichever I decide I want to go to after visiting them.Well....I'm gonna fix some spaghetti squash for work tomorrow ![]() |

You are welcome Nancy you go girl! Sounds like you are feeling better..It 'should' be cooling down some by now..and by down I mean the high's around 90 and lower humidity..The problem right now is that its not cooling off at night..Its sticky and yucky outside..With the high about 96... |

Happy Weekend Foxes! Hope everyone' s enjoying!
Last night's concert was beyond awesome! Words cannot describe it -- Jimmy Eat World played for 40 minutes and Green Day for 2.5 hours. It was a show filled with energy, pyrotechnics, dancing, singing, etc. There were over 18,000 people there and nobody sat in their seats once. Andy had a great time as did my sister and BIL. I will be sure to attend any future concerts. We had a great dinner but I didn't stay on plan. I ended up with a grilled chicken breast sandwich with grilled pineapple and mozzerella cheese. Back on plan today though. I picked up my fresh veggies this morning when shopping. Even picked up a spaghetti squash as well as all of the ingredients for Linda Sue's Chicken Mushroom casserole that I'll make tomorrow or Monday. I'm using turkey breast though and not chicken. My grocery store had Jennie-O turkey breast today for $.68 a pound. I usually don't care much for turkey -- too dry and blah. But I'll roast it in a Reynold oven bag tomorrow with some garlic and rosemary. That will give it flavor and the bag should ensure moistness. I'll use it for the casserole and will have leftovers for the week. I also got some deli-sliced organic un-cured ham and some lc wraps for sandwiches. I'm set for the week! Got the lawn mowed today as well as the rest of the garden cleared out. Not sure what the plans are for tomorrow but will definately include plans to exercise. Today's food was: B: none L: one all-beef hotdog with mustard D: cajun seasoned sauteed tilapia with a zucchini "hashbrown" patty Not enough water so that's something I need to work on. I picked up some fresh lemons and limes today to add a wedge to my water to help. Need to go shopping tomorrow to pick-up Jessie's new materials for her next level of Girl Scouts -- they start on Monday night. Hugs to the Foxes needing them this weekend -- sounds like there are a few. Hi to all and hope everyone is enjoything their weekend! Time for me to relax and read through the boards.~Kim |

Hey all...
I'm on an emotional roller coaster ride. What I want more desperately than anything else is to just be able to check into a hotel room alone and hide. But I can't, and the alternative seems to be stuffing my face. I cracked and ate a south beach bar (not worth it) and a SF peanut butter ghost (first time I've seen SF halloween candy). I also tried to make a dreamsicle flavored shake by mixing lc vanilla slimfast with sf orange flavored metamucil. It was, um, interesting. I'm skipping dinner because I'm still stuffed full of all the other things I ate today and because (drum roll please) I bought a pair of snug size 6 jeans today and I want them to fit!!! The stupid thing was that I had actually headed out to buy yoga pants and ended up with jeans and a t-shirt instead. But anyway, the SO wants to watch Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so I've got to go. For those who have asked, my aunt is the same, but I think we're all a lot more optimistic now. Thanks for all the prayers. I think they're helping. |

Happy Saturday Foxes!
We had a great day in Homer! It was pretty cloudy when we left, but as the day went on, it got nicer and nicer and the sun finally made an appearance. Chip got tons of photos, so hopefully he'll find time to get some posted for everyone to see. We ate lunch and dinner out and managed to stay on plan, but we did stop at the Alaska Wildberry Products store and they are known for their chocolates (even SF ones), so we bought a box to share. They are most delicious and they better disappear real quick....(that probably won't be a problem). The kids want to know why I won't share. Pokemom, for you. Your drink concoction sounds very, ummm...interesting. Was it tasty? I'm glad to hear you made it out shopping and found some new jeans. Pics please...... Kim, the concert sounds like it was a blast! Your menu today looks so bleak ~ are you starving? I need to get out and mow the lawn one last time for the year. It will feel nice to put the mower away for winter. We have a mushroom plantation in the front yard right now. Guess that means we've had too much rain.Rhonda, I can't imagine 90 degrees being a "cool down". Holy moly! I'm glad you were able to help a family out ~ that sounds very rewarding. Will you continue to follow their progress? Have a relaxing Sunday!Tina, I can't wait to hear your weigh-in results! You've been doing an awesome job this week. Nancy, your blood sugar results scared me... I'm glad they are going down for you and I hope they stabilize soon. Is the deoderant helping at all? Or just making you rashy? I'm so thankful you were okay in the minor accident. Be safe, my friend. Diane, how did the day go with the step-kids? Did you make it to the arts and crafts fair? I'll bet your dog is enjoying the cool morning walks also. What did you end up with for dinner? Tarsha, tell me all about him. Sounds like you've been staying busy ~ how was the workout? What are your menus like? Care to post a sample? I hope you have time to catch up on all the posts!Chip, hi. Well, I think I'll pass the computer over to Chip (and I'll go sneak into the box of sf chocolates while he's busy. )See ya! Monica ![]() |

Hi foxes!
![]() A great time was had in Homer. The first thing we did was hit a museum about the National Wildlife Refuges in Alaska - a couple thousand islands are under their control, including the Aleutians. After that, we went out on the "spit" and had lunch at a nice restaurant, and walked around on the beach for a bit. There were a few boats in the water but not too many. I bought a few touristy things and then we went back into the town, and then got a few more touristy things at the same place where we picked up the sf chocolates. After a bit of driving around we headed up a road up the mountain to get a view of the whole area, and it was well worth the drive. Hopefully my pictures turned out ok - I will be downloading them tomorrow and posting some then. We hit a Mexican/Italian restaurant and each had a variation of a taco salad (without the shell). The kids of course had rice & beans and things and also a dessert with a bunch of stuff that we couldn't have. We then headed back home, and I snapped a photo of a volcano across the water at a stop. Also on the way home, we saw a few horses in a field, and the twins really wanted to see them, so we pulled over. They made some horse-like sounds, and managed to attract the horses over to the fence, so they were quite happy. Pics tomorrow for that too. I think that's about it from me. Have a great day! ![]() - Chip ETA: Monica, get away from the sf chocolates!!! ![]() Last edited by microChip : 09-18-2005 at 01:31 AM. |
