"All I Want For Christmas Challenge" week of September 11th
Here's our new thread everyone!!!!!
Let's set those goals for the coming week one notch higher than we did last week! YA GOT TO MOVE IT TO LOSE IT!!!!!!!!!! You are all doing sooooooooo awesome!!!! Shaking my groove thing
Hi Elves!
I just got back from my jog, I'm all sweaty... I jogged to Prospect Park which dots the middle of Brooklyn, it's about 4 miles around but I got a little lost so I went around twice. I didn't jog the whole time, I only found one working water fountain so I got a little dehydrated I think... but it was still a lot of exercise! It needed to be to work off those brownies I ate yesterday This is a mostly vegetarian crew, they try hard, but they have no real concept of low carbing <chuckle>Well, today I'm going to jog Sun-Tue-Thurs and work on my new exercise ball on Mon-Wed-Fri. I feel really uncoordinated on the thing! Eating... well, these last couple of days have sucked, I had birthday cake at Adam's b-day party and then crackers and brownies yesterday. I guess I should probably do induction for a few days when I get back home! Off to shower, and watch football, have a fun day! (Hi Mandy!) Dano |

Hello to all......what a weekend......had to work yesterday and have had 4 kids the rest of the weekend. Took them bowling.....what a hoot.....they had fun tho.

[/IMG] UGH Induction... Ya, I'm with you Dano, I need to go back to it again myself.... I feel like an egg head when I eat all those eggs. Well, yesterday DH and I went to a horse sale and yes we now have 2 more horses. I wanted to sell our Stallion and DH and Dad whined and said he wasn't going anywhere. So we bought two brood mares to earn his keep. So much for downsizing. Well, atleast we have less land to keep up with!! The Barn is started and I'll take some pics of our progress. I hope it's finished by the time old man winter comes along. Oh ya!!! We almost died last night. At 3AM I was watching TV and started smelling smoke. It even woke up my snoring DH and he was coughing and gagging. I ran into the bedroom and he was up and my bedroom was filled with smoke!!! I ran all over the house got the kids up and my Dad and while I was doing that Tim found out the problem. Our wiring was on fire in the AC unit and the smoke went directly to my bedroom duct first. It's all melted and Tim pulled the switches. Thankfully the electrician finally made it here and is fixing it. I'm glad I was up and most importantly I'm glad it woke up DH, I can normally sleep through anything once I start hitting my Zzzzzzzzzzz's. Hugs, Jeanie ![]()

Hi every one,
was away all day today and left early so only 1 mileWATP but with 3lb weights for 3/4 mile. water a bit over 4L although I carried 5 L with me had to stop to many times so had to cut back. food is still induction meals day 13th of induction HN thanks heavens all of you are o.k. but what were you doing till 3 a.m. you need your sleep just as much as you need excersise haven't you heard early to bed and early to rise makes HN slim and very wise where on earth do you get all the pic HN and how do you post them I'll never look at eggs quite the same way again Mandy I know you are stressed with all the going on's but can you help me out with uping my carbs by five on Tuesday what can I have and how much I like tuna, chicken, eggs for protein I need some menu ideas any one ? Dano and HN induction is so easy shall I stay and keep you guys company? have a great day all gettenthere |

2 things I learn't last week. I'm now a size 18 and I prefer to drink green tea to coffee!
and this is from someone who in the past thought that they needed numerous mugs of coffee to survive!My food plan is staying the same as last week but the excercise is being taken up a notch as DH kindly bought me an exercise bike off ebay and hopefully it should arrive some time this week! Nikki |

OMG Nutt Woman.........I am glad you are doing ok. It is a blessing that you woke up and smelled that......that is exactly how people die.......Thank you God for protecting you and your family. HN you were creeping me totally out yesterday! Not only with the eggs but me and the kids went to see the Exorcism of Emily Rose yesterday morning! WOW the whole significant thing about the movie was waking at 3:00am and smelling burning - that is when the posession would start! I was petrified to go to sleep last night and you even reinforced it
Even called the kids to the computer to read your post - we were getting mesmerized LOL! Anyhow.....glad to hear you and your family is ok and it is being repaired. Mystic! Great Job! Heather - I was the same way - last winter I was totally hooked on green tea! Was a huge coffee drinker before that (have always loved it black so the whole coffee drinking thing was never an issue) but one day I woke up after doing atkins for awhile and was disgusted by the thought of coffee and was instantly hooked on green tea! Crazy isnt it? I have now since summer came for some reason been back on coffee but may instantly feel the need to go back????? Who knows! Lookin forward to doin the cover - I am still sooooooooooo into my song for the cd - it is a very popular song right now I'm sure youve all heard it by now - the remake of Fat Bottom Girls - (the new Queen does it) whenever it comes on I crank it up and sing out loud LOL - all the workers at work like it too we get crazy when it comes on Dano - sounds like your havin a great time in NY! The eating doent sound too good - or does it LOL actually it sounds damm good! LOL - I really slipped up yesterday and gave into a medium reese cup blizzard from DQ They were making a run yesterday at work and knowing I am making huge promises here today I gave!!!!!!As for those promises - hmmmmm - well I said definately getting on exercise ball - Dano you mentioned your starting on yours too - maybe we can help eachother out with getting started! My eating stays well enough on track that I'm not making any adjustments there - in fact I do find when I have a carby day here and there it doesnt seem do any harm but I am well aware how easily that could get more and more frequent! Will post later before I go to work at 4:00 and let you all know what I came up with today for exercise! TO ALL! |

Hi every one,
14 days to day of induction and I’m on the threshold of OWL or am I? I sure was looking forward to gustatory pleasures of an increase in carbs but here is my dilemma I’ve answered the questions on page 160 and no I am not bored with induction and I’ll know tomorrow when I weigh I in the morning weather I’m metabolically resistant to weight loss .Here is another question if you have a lot of weight to lose you can do induction safely for six months or longer. Do have a lot more to go like 60lbs and on page 169 it reads OWL deliberately slows the rate of weigh and inches lost to lay the work for permanent weight loss. Apparently, I can no longer cruise to goal its time to be specific and set a goal. I figure another 60lbs so Dano, Mandy, Melly , HN, Sinny and every one what do I do. One more question the vegetables are the carbs counts for cooked or raw. Today last day of 2 weeks induction, that’s if I stop Food induction clean Water 5 L by the way I did make the 5L yesterday too Have a great day all Cheri take it easy and I know you will make it with all the health problems behind you I’m going to try the journal thanks it came up just in time to keep me accountable. |

Getten, Your posts always make me laugh.
The reason I was up at 3AM was because I stayed late in chat and DH was snoring. Since his surgery he's gotten really bad. I think it's because of that tube they put down your throat. Sinny, Nikki, Melly, Pizza I'm glad we caught it too, I know you all would miss me just a little... No, for real, it was really scary, you don't know how scary or maybe you do. I have only felt panic like that maybe 2-3 times in my whole life. Melly now why did I know you would like Mr Egg Head 2nd from the right front??? Hi everyone :)
How are my favorite Challengers doing today? Big hugs and kudos to all you dedicated folks!!!
My day was ok today. I won $50 on a scratch ticket I bought on the way home today ![]() Eating was good: Breakfast: 3 egg whites, 3/4 cup cantaloupe and 1/4 cup ricotta mixed with splenda and lemon zest Lunch: cola chicken and coleslaw Snack: pizza toppings (had to sample the kid's pizza of course )Dinner: sort of a lc meat pie that my oldest son made Water is at about 62 oz so a ways to go with that yet. Exercise was a nice long trail walk with my friend on our lunch break HN! So glad everything ended up safe and you are all ok ![]() at sinny and longways2go ![]() Mystic..wooohoooo on the 232!!!!!!!!! you go girl!!!! Getten..you have done so excellently on the induction so far...if you're still enjoying induction why not try to go one more week? then see what happens. But eventually do go through all the phases of this woe. And as for the carb counts, I personally measure all my veggies while raw but most of the time you can choose either raw or cooked in fitday. I'm not sure how other carb counters work. ![]() Melly...gotta love those football "tight-ends" ..woooo baby! Pizza and HeatherNicole.. on the green tea! love it myslef too but I'm out of it so I'm on a bit of a coffee kick the last few days.Dano..quick! come home ...and leave the cake there! ..besides..we miss you!My youngest son turns 2 tomorrow!! My little Joshua is growing up! We'll have a cake and a little pressy for him at dinnertime tomorrow and then his party with the family on Sunday afternoon. I can't believe it! It's only 7:30 and I've been up since 5:00am!
Didnt go back to bed after waking my dd and ds for school as they are perfectly capable getting themselves to school DID 20 CRUNCHES ON MY EXERCISE BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The energy today is incredible OH and took a hot bath at like 5:45am and looked up on Food Network some Guacomole recipes - sooooo in the mood for maybe cheesy chicken quasedias (lc wraps of course) with homeade guacomole mmmmmm never made it before but today is the day! ![]() Prolly be checkin in later and am willing to share my energy today with whoever needs some ![]() |

Pizzamama I soooooooo wish I could come....I am hungry and have not eaten yet. I had to havre some blood work done this morning so I had to fast and then I come hom eand have to read about your yummy breakfast......how'za bout sharing?
I have a sick little girl today so I will be staying home. Headache and fever.....my neice had this about a week ago and it was like a 24/48 hour thing. Guess my house will get cleaned today and I will be spending some time in chat ![]() |

Where to (re)start?

Mystic, congratulations honey! You're doing great! Keep up the good work, you'll be looking like your avatar piccy in no time ![]() Getten, I've posted 20 times in 20 places what I think you should do next, you just don't want to hear it, so I'm going to stop saying it. If you want to continue induction, you can do so safely and no bad things will befall you, I'm just an advocate of moving into OWL and finding your critical carb level, but it can wait another 10 lbs if that makes you feel more comfortable. Mandy, you missed me? <eyelash flutter> Well, miss me no more, I'm back! I guess I missed the fire and the creepy eggs and the 20 crunches with pizzamom on her exercise ball, but here I am, ready to do my penance for three days of eating like I used to! I thought ridding myself of the extra carbs from beer would be enough to help me lose more, but I seem to have developed a bit of a sweets craving instead. Last night I tried to satisfy it with strawberries instead of something sugary, but even those are carby. So, today I stepped on the scale after a few weeks off and... well, it wasn't good, let's just put it that way. My exercise has been great lately so it's got to be my eating, so I guess I need to... um... eat less and differently. There's a shock So no more peanuts, cashews, and LC ice cream at home, and no more sugary stuff when I'm out! Those seem to be my current weaknesses. Now, my clothes are still fitting fine, so I think some of it may be muscle gain instead of just fat, but I'm still closing in on 230 and that's too high of a number. For awhile I was down to 212-215! Drinking has been good, it's been three weeks since I had any, and even sitting in a bar full of people drinking on Sunday for my brother's birthday party, it wasn't that big of a struggle to order diet coke. At this point it's still a 'novelty' for me so I've kept my motivation level up. The big test is going to be getting together with my old college buddies who still like to party! But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it... So, for yesterday I ate B - two eggs L - salad and hamburger patties D- chicken wings S - cashews and strawberries. Exercise was a half hour on my roller blades, then a mile jog. OK, off to get something accomplished... good luck today elves! I'm proud of all of you! Dano |
