Happy May! New month, new goals! Today was a strictly protein day for me, I like doing that once in a while. I really think LFL has some aspects that I am interested in doing. I like the portion control thing, I like that I have to eat all my meals and I like that it is low carb. I don't like all the fruit so I am going to not eat fruit in the evenings.
So how are you girls? Any new goals for this month? I am finding myself with more time on my hands since track is done for the year. I have increased my daily workouts just to kill time. Down time scares me, I usually eat when I bored BBL! ![]() |

Hllo everyone
For May goals I would be happy to just lose 5 pounds. I can feel muscles developing especially in my legs and back from paddling. Lynne, when you aren't involved in track what classes do you teach?. My daughter is supposed to be teaching 11 & 12 chemistry and physics but the school she is at right now gave her a foods class and now they are thinking about hiring her full time to do home ec. Well off to take my son to Future Shop to return an mp3 player. He found a better cheaper one at Dell. He does this all the time. We spend more time returning stuff than using it. take care Rae |

Hi Everyone,
A new month, I have re-committed myself to exercising more. I a have not been good at going to Curves at all. My goal is to make sure that I get my three times a week in. Hopefully some treadmill on the other days. Lynne, I am not much of a fruit person either. You can sub a small tomato for the fruit. I really love it when fresh tomatoes are in. Rae, that returning stuff gets old. I just hate to return something. I am sometimes just guilty of just not returning . I then have to give it away. I really want to see some weight off this month. Lets go team.

Good Tuesday morning girls! Hope everyone is doing well today, I am hoping to have a better day than yesterday. I had people problems yesterday - I hate those days
We have an administrator at my school is gets in a bad mood and takes it out on everyone. I just happen to be in the wrong place. I have to let it go!Rae - I teach middle school Geography. High School teachers teach many different areas of their certification, in middle school we stick to one grade and one subject. Did I tell you guys I am transferring to a better school? I will be teaching advanced kids - I am so ready. I have been teaching in Title One schools for 8 years and I am tired of it. Hi Dorothy! How's the baby? Well, my food is packed and I must get ready for school! Have a beautiful day ladies. |

Good morning
Lynne, congrats on moving to your new school. We don't have middle schools here but I sure wish we did. Our elementary schools are k to 7 and high schools are grade 8 to 12. I think grades 7,8 & 9 need to be in their own schools but I guess it's more economical this way. Hi Dorothy, good for ;you for getting back to curves. They are opening a 3rd one here, it sure seems popular. Yesterday we had to take the dragon boats out of the water, turn them over and scraped the barnicles off. No mean feat since they weight 3000 pounds. On lady got her toe in the way and it came down on it. ouch. luckily it wasn't broken. I'm off to see mom today, will take her to the dr and check out her blood pressure and take her out for lunch. take care Rae |

I am little late I Posting. I have been cleaning out my Computer room today. There always seems to be on room that catches all of the junk. We had water damage this year in our bathroom and Bedroom from the Snow. Part of our ceiling fell in. they need to use to entry thought the computer room to work on that. Hopefully it will be in the next week or so.
Lynne congrats on getting a better school to work at. Will you be teaching Geo. at the new school or something else. anyway I admire you that you work with the kids. Rae, Hope you had a good day with your Mom. Hope her Dr's visit was good. Well, I tried something new today. Always looking for ways to cut those portion. I had what i wanted to eat but I alway want more. So I tried the trick of telling myself that I could have more if I still wanted it after 20 min. It seems to work well. going to try it tomorrow. Have a good day everyone. |

Good morning
Dorothy , that's a great idea for portion control, I'm going to try it for eating when I'm not hungry. My mom's visit was not fun yesterday. She is very depressed but doesn't really understand it. It really gets her down that she is so tired. Luckily when we went to the doctor he got it right away and talked to me about it. He put her on an anti depressant so we'll see if it perks her up again. Her blood pressure was right down again so that was good news. I'm off to my dr appt today, yuck. Have a great day. Rae |

good morning
I'm thinking you have all slept in this morning. How's it going? I'm off to paddle downtown today, although my body is protesting a lot. This is our last practise before our regatta on Sunday and apparently the local press will be doing interviews today. I think I'll leave that part for the experienced people. Well off to get my son up for school have a great day Rae |

Hi girls! Rae have fun at the Regatta, sounds like fun. Take pics if you can, I finally learned how to post pics so I may have a few soon.
I've been studying today. I have my test for National Boards on Saturday. Its causing me stress I have no clue what to study. They give you no idea either. Oh well, I'll just type a lot! Dorothy, my new job will be gifted world history, 6th grade! I am going from one extreme to the other. I am looking forward to this job and have so much to plan in the summer! My food was HORRIBLE yesterday. You would shutter if I told you, so I'll spare the details. However, I am back on track. One day does not make me a failure so I'll just get over it. Hope you girls are doing well! Love ya! |

Good morning
Lynne, my food was not great yesterday either. I went out for dinner with friends I hadn't seen for years. They were all Italians so that should give you and indiction of what appeared on the table. Today isn't going to be much better. My daughter has arranged a Mother's day dinner at a Greek restaurant. And tomorrow night is a birthday party. Hopefully I can make up for it in exercise. Dorothy, I was just reading an article in the Costco magazine about the Red Hatter's by the founder of the club. Sounds like lots of fun. I think we have a group here but don't see them out much. The ladies in the magazine certainly looked elegant in their outfits. well off to get some work done. take care Rae |

Whew, 2 clean days since my fiasco! I feel so much better this morning. I can really tell the difference in my joints and such when I avoid sugar and flour. Anyone else that way?
Rae - hope things (foodwise) are going well for you, I don't think I would have survived the kind of week you have! LOL, I was going to start trying to add some more things like fruit and stuff, honestly I don't think I need them! All they do is trigger me to eat more. I don't have a problem with the berries though. I think Dr. A knew me Dorothy - so we are pals with a VP? How was the Red Hatter's brunch? I am glad you went back to Curves. How are the muskels feeling? Off to start the day! |

Hi everyone,
Lynne, I love you little Plant. No, Lynne you are not pals with a VIP. No one else would take the job. the seat needed filling. I will just Vol. for the same things I always did. Our Mother's Day brunch was so much fun. Not much legal food to eat. I though I had a legal quiche only to find out after I had two large pieces that It had bread in it. Who knew. Everyone brought a very special person in their life. Today we out going out for Chinese buffet. I have been to this one before so I know that there is things I can eat. Lynne, I too feel so much better when I eat clean. I have been doing the Coconut Oil too. I think that I have more engery. On Curves, I got right back in the swing with no muscles hurting. Rae, I hope that you our having a great weekend. From the sound of it you had a lot planned. Have a great day everyone. |

Happy Mother's day
Lynne, love the little plant. That's about all I can grow. We are buiolding a deck in the back yard and I'm looking forward to seenng what plants I can add. Dorothy, you and your mom look so neat in your Red Hatters and the ladies in pink fit in perfectly. We had a great time at the regatta today. Our timing was pretty good for my first race and considering the average was 65. We did 500 metres in 2 minutes 46 seconds. I'm at my daughters for diner and they are just calling so have to go. take care Rae |

OMG - DOROTHY - That is a fabulous pic!
How neat is that. We always photo the generations too, my grandmother loves it. We may actually have five in one pic soon if we are lucky, my niece is pregnant! Rae - good job on the time for the rowing! Are you saying the average age is 65? That is really neat. I am also assuming you are at your kids' home for dinner! Hope it was wonderful. I am off to school, food is packed, I'm well rested hopefully the kids will be good! |

Good morning
I am spending a lazy day at home, no paddling, no running around, and the weather is co-operating, it's gray and rainy. Some days you just need to stop and take stock. Last night my daughter was marking her grade 11's math quiz's and was so depressed, every one of them were failing. She of course is blaming herself for not doing a good job of teaching if they aren't getting it. I didn't know what to suggest. Being teachers I'm sure you both have been there. have a great day Rae |

Yep, been there, it is not fun. Suggest reducing the number of problems. That helped me tremendously. Instead of 20, 10, instead of 10, 5. I did this but gave more frequent quizzes and they did better. This is just a suggestion

Hi Everyone,
glad you liked the Picture. After Mother's Day weekend I was just really tired. Like Rae, I had to take the day off and take stock. we had really great weather here today. time to do a little cleaning of the garage. I would say spring cleaning, but I am not doing enough to make it qualify. I have been staying on Plan but not loss of weight. I really just don't know why . I am really feeling frustrated. How are you guys doing? I hope better than me. |

I'm with you Dorothy. I am very frustrated and now I am sabotaging myself, it's like - what the heck. When I was leaning towards a more LFL plan, the fruit and grain really triggered me and its been bad lately. I don't know what to do.

Hi
I'm right there with you both. Just have a tough time sticking to a plan these days. I know how well I do on induction but after about a week, I just fall off. It's so frustrating because I know if I could keep on it that it really works. grrrr. Rae |

Some one sent me this E-Mail, I thought the facts were very interesting. I really tired post more tomorrow.

Hi everyone
Dorothy, my daughter would totally agree with your article on butter vs margarine. I would also agree with you on all margarines except the one we use. We have been using a margarine called Becel for the last 35 years.. Do you get it there. here is a website www.becelcanada.com It has no transfats, is a source of omega 3 polyunsaturates, it recommended by the heart and stroke foundation of Canada It is made from canola oil which is very good for you and tastes as good if not better than butter. take care Rae |

Rae, I sent to the web site. I had not heard of your product and guess why they sell it only in Canada. It sounds great. I guess in the meantime back to Butter. I went to my dr's app today. Not good. Up 15# since last year. My Blood pressure was bad and Colesteral up too 229. she is putting me on meds for Blood Pressure and I have to change my diet. I am suppose to do a plan close to LFL. So I bought all difference stuff. We will see.
Lynne, HOw are things with you. Let us know how the hair comes out. I Love fooling with hair. Have a great day everyone. |
