Marvelous May!!
Good morning girls !
Well this whole week has been a test!,with temptations galore but, I SURVIVED!! I still didn't go off my induction WOE, Yes and this month I know I will be doing everything I am supposed to do .I WILL get my water totals up. Listen in getting my totals together I am going to just keep my signature updated cause I went back and found previous totals posted after the last posted totals. Just wanted to do that so I will be sure of where I am but ,will also update with the rest of you too cause I'd like to know eveyone's totals also. Shell~on my walk Friday morning I went and slipped on the sidewalk and fell on my knee Man it still hurts, but what I have decided to do wiil be my WATP and other exercise video's indoors until I have about 50lbs gone. May be I will be more agile then and will not fall all over the place. I fell in Dec and broke my arm and hurt my knee.BTW it is the same knee I hurt again!!.Waving To GenieLady, Erin ![]()

Hey Ladies,
I just wanted to update you on something. Because I did not have Erin's totals on weigh in day I had to ask Laurie to change her status to 'Individual'. She missed the last weigh in as well and I did tell her then that we would have to change her status if we didn't hear from her. I pm'd her and told her that we would still love to have her here to post with us and to get/give motivation. Shell Joyful, too bad about your knee!!! Those injuries take a while to heal!!! Wishing you a fast recovery!!

Shell ~ will they give us another team memeber? I hope so cause It will be hard to compensate for her points.Sorry to hear that we are losing her though.
Erin ~please post here any way just so you can keep being motivated and also have some accountablitly ,being here in this group has helped me tremendously. My attitude has been really transformed , I am no longer an overweight person in my head, I am eating and exercising ,behaving as the thin girl would. Not reaching for food when stressful times come and not giving into temptation like I always do. Oh and bTw I am drinking my water as I am sitting by the computer. Well I went to reward myself with a spa pedicure today but they were closed, which is weird cause they were open on Sunday a half a day. I will go tomorrow after work , I'l probably enjoy it more then any way . I did end up getting 2 nice short sleeve casual shirts. Now I really should see some weight drop off cause I am exercising and do the whole nine yards this month Will check back later girlies! |

Joyful : 30 min exercise 0 oz water
Neveragain: 0 min exercise 0 oz water GenieLady: 0 min exercise 0 oz water Smartmuse: 120 min exercise 80 oz water ( bonus water oz: ) I added the totals so far ... if Erin decides that she'd like to continue posting with us, she can add her name. The only thing I want to remind everyone is to be sure to cut and paste the LAST update posted, not the last one YOU updated. If you don't do the very last one posted, then someone else's totals will be lower than they should. We want everyone to get credit for the work they do! Also ... if there's something else you'd like to monitor, feel free to add a category at the end of your line. If it's a good idea, the rest of us might do it too! I added the "bonus water" category, so I can keep track of everything above 100 oz. It's just easier to count in 100's ... anything above 100 oz that I drink will be added to the bonus category. I have been in my yard cleaning out the junk most of today. I have 10 flower beds .... and all of them were full of leaves from last fall. I found 2 more in the back that were so full of leaves I didn't realize they were there. I did the 4 biggest flower beds yesterday, but the smaller ones had more stuff in them and were harder to clean. They also had plants that had started to grow through all the leaves, so I had to be careful I didn't damage any of the baby plants. That was a serious workout! I worked longer than the 120 minutes I claimed, but I subtracted time for going back and forth to get tools and for the brief rests I took. I feel like I did 8,000 toe touches and crunches. My arms are sore all over from the lifting as are my legs. I still have to mow my lawn, but the phone company has flags all over my yard because they're going to bury a phone cable. I dare not mow or move anything until the cable is buried. My bathroom has a sauna, so I sat in there today for the first time. I was in there for 25 minutes and MAN, did it feel good. I think that it might help me from being stiff tomorrow. It's unfortunate that Erin won't be a part of our team anymore, but I hope that she will still continue to post. It's hard to lose weight by yourself, so I hope she will use this thread as a resource and a help. I know that without it, I might have been off plan during my move. One of the things that helped me make more of an effort and do the right thing is the idea that I didn't want to hurt my teamates! I also know that I wouldn't be drinking nearly as much water as I drink now. I'm planning to get in the other 20 to make 100 but didn't have them down yet so I didn't post it. I will update again later today or tomorrow. Later teamies! Muse PS Has anyone tried lc cold cereal and Carb Countdown milk? I was thinking about giving it a try, but chickened out. I'd love to hear any comments or feedback. |

Joyful : 30 min exercise 0 oz water
Neveragain: 40 min exercise 120 oz water GenieLady: 0 min exercise 0 oz water Smartmuse: 120 min exercise 80 oz water ( bonus water oz: ) Muse, good work getting the exercise in!! Sundays are hard for me to squeeze time in. Joyful, a pedicure sounds great!! I love them!! I got one two weeks ago to reward myself for reaching 50 pounds lost. I also have a gift card for a spa package but I am waiting till I lose 60 to reward myself!! That is crazy about the water regulations!! I'm glad you are having your doctor write you a slip. Oh, and I meant to tell you the other day but forgot, good work getting your mamogram. Those are SO important!!! I decided to do the meat/egg fast this week. I'm also ONLY going to drink water. So, hopefully that will speed me up a bit. I keep struggling with water gain. I lose two pound then go back up then lose three, and go up two!! It's very frustrating!! I talked to Erin, she is having some personal issues and is going to be away for awhile. I encouraged her to please come back and post with us when she returns. I'm not sure if they will add another member or not. They are averaging points now, so that it is fair to all teams regardless of how many people they have. I suggested this and they said they'd do it. Ok, well I want to 'hit the ground running' in the office this week. I'll check in later. Shell |

34 people reported their stats this month
7 did not report their stats 1 moved to individual status 1 new person joined as of May 1st. There are 10 teams left in the challenge. Total points earned for all teams...7214! Total weight lost this month.....114.5lbs! we lost another person! The winners are... 1. Team 14 ....Average 392 points! 2. Team 12.....Average 250 points! 3. Team 15.....Average 249 points! 4. Team 10.....Average 238 points! 5. Team 11.....Average 238 points! SPECIAL CHALLENGES FOR MAY: 1. Last month you were to try new exercises, sports, equipments, classes, etc. This month, post on the Biggest Loser New Exercise Thread and tell us about what you did. Did you like it? Are you still doing it? What are the pros and cons of it? Maybe you'll inspire some of the rest of us to try it, too! Give yourself 20 points for posting about your new exercise. 2. Low carbing is a Way of Life, not just a diet. We're in this for the long haul, not just a quick fix. Getting bored with what we're eating is a major cause of cheating or falling off the wagon. Give yourself 10 points each for up to 2 new recipes that you try this month. It doesn't matter where the recipes come from, just that they're new to you, and that they fit into the stage and program of low carbing that you are doing. The recipe board here has some great recipes, and there are lots of low carb cookbooks out there, or maybe you'll invent something yourself. Post your recipes on the Biggest Loser New Recipes thread, and tell us what you thought of it. 3. Exercise is important, but so is just plain moving more. And it's spring! So this month, get out there and do something you wouldn't otherwise be doing. Go for a walk in the park, and take time to enjoy the flowers. Play catch with your kids. Go to an amusement park or water park. Go for a walk on the beach. It doesn't have to be "exercise", but you do need to be doing more than sitting around in a lawn chair, and it does have to be outdoors. Give yourself 25 points for doing it. 4. And finally, give yourself an extra 25 points if you exercised more minutes in APRIL than you did in MARCH. REGULAR CHALLENGES: EXERCISE Less than 500 minutes exercise/month = -100 points 501-599 minutes of exercise/month = 35 points (avg 17 min/day) 600-749 minutes of exercise/month = 40 points (avg 20 min/day) 750-999 minutes of exercise/month = 50 points (avg 25 min/day) 1000-1149 minutes of exercise/month = 65 points (avg 33 min/day) 1150-1249 minutes of exercise/month = 80 points (avg 38 min/day) 1250-1499 minutes of exercise/month = 95 points (avg 42 min/day) 1500+ minutes of exercise per month = 120 points (avg 50 min/day) WEIGHT LOSS Any weight GAIN = -5 points 1-4lbs lost per month = 4 points 5lbs lost per month = 5 points 6lbs lost per month = 6 points 7lbs lost per month = 7 points 8lbs lost per month = 8 points 9lbs lost per month = 9 points 10lbs lost per month = 10 points 11lbs lost per month = 11 points 12lbs lost per month = 12 points 13lbs lost per month = 13 points 14lbs lost per month = 14 points 15+lbs lost per month = 45 points WATER consumption per month (in ounces) 1983 ounces or less = -100 points (avg less than 64 oz/day) 1984-3100 ounces = 35 points (avg 64-100 oz/day) 3101-4340 ounces = 85 points (avg 101-140 oz/day) 4341+ ounces = 150 points (avg 141oz+/day) MEASUREMENTS INCHES LOST HALF-Inches lost per month -Add 10 points for every HALF-inch you lose (measured monthly) add hips and waist together for a combined total. (permanent challenge) Deduct 20 points for every HALF-inch you gain from the prior month. Further Additions and Deductions: Deduct 1 point for every can of diet pop that is not made with the Splenda Sweetner or another Atkins-approved sweetner. Example, saccharine is not good. (Even if it doesn't stall you). (permanent challenge) (hint: drink Diet Rite) Deduct 1 point for every 12oz. you drink that is not caffeine free. (permanent challenge) Deduct 30 points for going over YOUR monthly carb intake goal at all! (permanent challenge) Deduct 100 points for NOT reporting your stats on the 15th and last day of month. Email lagpmgdsls if that is not possible so other arrangements can be made. (permanent challenge) |

Joyful : 60 min exercise 128 oz water
Neveragain: 40 min exercise 120 oz water GenieLady: 0 min exercise 64 oz water Smartmuse: 150 min exercise 200 oz water ( bonus water oz:15 ) Hi everyone! Weather was cold and damp today, so I didn't do any gardening when I got off of work. I got my water in yesterday, and am drinking a little extra on the side to try and get the next highest bonus points. I bought some skim carbcountdown milk and some carb control Total. The store was sold out of the chocolate. It's supposed to taste like hot cocoa, but only has 3 carbs per cup. I think that would be a healthier alternative during TOM than eating a piece of sf candy, and will kill the craving for chocolate. Pedicures are ALWAYS a good reward. I save them for sandal season ... something very elegant about getting your toes painted and a nice foot massage. I don't know how much I'll be able to afford (tight budget right now), but I'm thinking of getting a little summer job on the side to buy some extra stuff for my house. Maybe a trip to the mall for a pedicure is a must have this summer too! My sauna is wonderful. It DOES help get the yuck out of your muscles, so you don't cramp up and ache as much. I was a tiny bit sore today, but not like I've been in the past. I imagine it does the same thing for you that a hot bath does, except faster. I'm not big for baths (I prefer showers) so the sauna is ideal. It was THE selling point of this house. I'm sorry to hear that Erin is having a tough time ... I'm glad that she knows that she can come back and post with us when she's ready. I'll keep her in my prayers and thoughts tonite. Shell, I think that drinking extra water this month is going to be a big help. I don't know anything at all about the egg/meat fast business. I would have a rough time giving up my veggies! I hope it works for you. Joyful ... good for you getting out and exercising! I can't wait for better weather because I like being outside. Exercising doesn't seem like as much work when you're in the fresh air as when you're cooped up inside. I work longer and harder when I am outside. I am so glad that I have a house ... it's more than an investment - it's my exercise motivator! ![]() See ya later Teamies! (I like that too Joyful!) Muse |

Neveragain: 100 min exercise 240 oz water GenieLady: 0 min exercise 64 oz water Smartmuse: 150 min exercise 200 oz water ( bonus water oz:15 ) Hey Teamies ( I had to continue the trend), Had a nice long walk yesterday after work and then spent the evening scrubbing my car!! The weather is still kinda yucky here but hopefully it will get better soon. There is a stomach virus going around here and I'm feeing a bit yucky today. I'm really hoping that i don't get sick but if I am going to, I would rather get it over with now than have it this weekend when my friend is here. Today I'm gonna do some cleaning after work and get another walk in if I'm feeling up to par. Muse, Mmmm...hot chocolate sounds good. That is a weakness of mine. I love hot chocolate and could drink it year round. Joyful, good work on your water!!! Did your doctor write that note? Genie, glad you got to take some time off after your convention. I hope your part went well!! Shell |

Neveragain: 100 min exercise 240 oz water GenieLady: 0 min exercise 64 oz water Smartmuse: 170 min exercise 300 oz water (bonus water oz: 20) Hi everyone! I got home and found out I have to go back to school for a program this evening. Ugh. I just want to be at home tonite. I don't want to run around, but I do what I must. I did a quick 20 min video just to get something in today. I went back to the store to find out they were discontinuing sale of Carb Countdown at the store I frequent. I guess I will go to Super WalMart to get it. Shell, I will be sure to let you know if it's any good once I taste it. I tried the skim this morning on my cereal and it was just fine. Tasted pretty much like milk to me. I don't drink that much milk, but every once in a while I get the taste for cold cereal. It usually lasts for a week or two, then it's gone for another several months. I'm glad there are low carb options. Shell ... hope you feel better soon. I hate that nauseous feeling. Scrubbing your car is excellent exercise. If you want the opportunity to get more exercise, come scrub my dirty car! Later Teamies! Muse |

Neveragain: 150 min exercise 360 oz water GenieLady: 0 min exercise 64 oz water Smartmuse: 170 min exercise 300 oz water (bonus water oz: 20) Goodmornin Gals!! Well its actually starting to work up a bit here. I went for a nice long walk before work this morning (it won't count till tomorrows numbers). My friend is coming from Texas this Friday (only two days). This is the same guy who came up for my birthday in March. Last time though he met me in Virginia and spent time with my family there. This time he is coming here and will meet my friends and my Church family. Big stuff!! He's never been up here to PA so it should be interesting! I won't be working on Friday but i will either make sure and pop in to post either before I pick him up or sometime in the evening. I'm not sure if I will make it on Saturday though. So...if you don't hear from me on Saturday know that I'll be back on Sunday. Okay, well today promises to be a slow day in the office...not much going on so I'm sure I'll check back later! Shell |

Hey Teamies! Got my walk in already!
Shell~ If you have to get sick , getting it over with would be the best thing to do LOL Yes please do fill us in on your " friend" I know you must really be excited .Yes I did get my note from the Dr. for my water too!Muse ~ I love cereal , think that is one of the things I miss most,. but, I am not that crazy about milk I don't like the after taste.I tried the low carb alternative and it seemed a bit thick to me so I never bought it again. I might try the chocolate milk it probably will be good for hot chocolate. Well my Dr. wants me to get my knee xrayed because of my fall last Friday. It doesn't hurt as bad but when I bend it I hear a popping noise. I sound like Rice Crispy Cereal these days So that's where I have to be later, nothing like spending your day around the hopsital huhz? ![]() |

Neveragain: 150 min exercise 360 oz water GenieLady: 30 min exercise 264oz water Smartmuse: 170 min exercise 400 oz water (bonus water oz: 20) I had a lazy day today ... I was just too tired to do much. I might take another day exercise free because I am going to work like a horse this weekend getting my garden in shape along with the last 2 flower beds. I will also be mowing my yard for the first time. I am guessing that I'll log in at LEAST 3-4 hours each day this weekend. I might even do some Friday when I get off work. I will not feel like this is MY house until these boxes are gone and my yard is looking good. Shell ... I hope you have fun with your friend. I'm glad that you're going to have some serious quality time on your own turf. He'll enjoy seeing how you live your life and the friends you've made. OMG! I just thought about something ... he hasn't seen the huge amount of weight you've lost either! Woohoo! That will a fun surprise! Does he know that you've been working on it? Joyful and Genie ... good to hear from you! Joyful, I hope that there's nothing serious going on with your knee. Better to check it out and be sure though. Off to get some beauty rest! Muse |

Good morning Teamies!
Got alot going on with my health these days , my knee and another matter of concern. It really is hard to wrap your brain around exercise when you have health concerns. I will do my best to stay the course though. At least I didn't eat the paint off the walls yet LOL. I wanted to hit every drive thru yesterday down my street but, I didn't so that is real progress. Just wish it would show on the scale dang it! Well everyone have a great day. Muse~ Girl you are really getting loads of exercise in with that lawn of yours.Think of the rewards ....The sauna tub LOL |

Joyful : 90 min exercise 192 oz water
Neveragain: 200min exercise 470 oz water GenieLady: 30 min exercise 264oz water Smartmuse: 170 min exercise 400 oz water (bonus water oz: 20) Morning Team!! Well, yes I am excited about my friend coming up! He did see me in March in Virginia, but I have lost 12 pounds since then...so... He didn't say anything about my weightloss. I am pretty sure he noticed but he's really polite about talking about stuff like that. I have always been pretty guarded about my weight and have never talked about it much cause it embarrasses me. I think he knows that about me and was sensitive to that. I think I actually prefer it that way!! When I went to see him in December I was at my highest weight (298) and he still wrote me after I got back and told me that I was beautiful and that he wants to marry me!! So....that makes me feel really good. That he truly loves who I am and thinks I'm pretty even when I look like a cow!!! It seems really hard to lose weight these days. I keep losing a pound and then bouncing around. It's pretty frustrating. A friend of mine goes to a nutritionalist and he has her doing pretty much what I am doing and she kept stalling and recently he gave her supplements for her thyroid to help with that and she had been stalled for like 4 weeks. She started the supplements and lost a pound the first day. I think I'm gonna give it a week or two and then go see him. I'm not looking for a quick fix and I am DEFINITELY staying lowcarb cause that works for me but I want to make sure there are no underlying issues slowing me down. Ok, well I am gonna get some work done. I really appreciate you girls! Thanks for motivating me and encouraging me. I couldn't ask for better teamies!!!! Shell |
