SPECIAL CHALLENGES FOR APRIL:

The challenges for April were picked to help motivate us and remind us of how and why we are on this challenge. There are lots of opportunities to earn points, so this should make it an interesting month!

The first challenge is to go to the Century Club Forum and read the 100, 200, and 300 pound loser sticky threads. If you do this before the 15th of the month, give yourself 25 points!

Challenge Two: Try out a new type of exercise. A new exercise video, a new exercise class, a new type of equipment, a new sport, etc. You have to do it at least once a week for the month. If you want to try four new things, that's fine, just try something new each week. This is worth 50 points!

Challenge Number Three: Give yourself 25 points for rereading (or reading for the first time if you haven't read it yet!) the book (Atkin's, South Beach, Carb Addict's) associated with your WOE. Read the one that really goes into detail about this WOE and the science behind it and the rules for following it.

And as an ongoing challenge to promote participation, let's continue Kim's challenge from last month... give yourself one point for everyday that you post on your team's thread!

REGULAR CHALLENGES:

EXERCISE

Less than 500 minutes exercise/month = -100 points
501-599 minutes of exercise/month = 35 points (avg 17 min/day)
600-749 minutes of exercise/month = 40 points (avg 20 min/day)
750-999 minutes of exercise/month = 50 points (avg 25 min/day)
1000-1149 minutes of exercise/month = 65 points (avg 33 min/day)
1150-1249 minutes of exercise/month = 80 points (avg 38 min/day)
1250-1499 minutes of exercise/month = 95 points (avg 42 min/day)
1500+ minutes of exercise per month = 120 points (avg 50 min/day)

WEIGHT LOSS

Any weight GAIN = -5 points
1-4lbs lost per month = 4 points
5lbs lost per month = 5 points
6lbs lost per month = 6 points
7lbs lost per month = 7 points
8lbs lost per month = 8 points
9lbs lost per month = 9 points
10lbs lost per month = 10 points
11lbs lost per month = 11 points
12lbs lost per month = 12 points
13lbs lost per month = 13 points
14lbs lost per month = 14 points
15+lbs lost per month = 45 points

WATER consumption per month (in ounces)

1983 ounces or less = -100 points (avg less than 64 oz/day)
1984-3100 ounces = 35 points (avg 64-100 oz/day)
3101-4340 ounces = 85 points (avg 101-140 oz/day)
4341+ ounces = 150 points (avg 141oz+/day)

MEASUREMENTS INCHES LOST

HALF-Inches lost per month (total ONLY from waist and hips (same for both men and women)) You are encouraged to measure more body parts for your own records but just the waist and hips will count during this challenge:

Add 10 points for every HALF-inch you lose (measured monthly) add hips and waist together for a combined total. If you choose to measure every three months, you will have to be on an individual challenge – only. All team members are expected to measure and report their results on the last day of the month. (permanent challenge)

Deduct 20 points for every HALF-inch you gain from the prior month.

Further Additions and Deductions:

Deduct 1 point for every can of diet pop that is not made with the Splenda Sweetner or another Atkins-approved sweetner. Example, saccharine is not good. (Even if it doesn't stall you). (permanent challenge) (hint: drink Diet Rite)

Deduct 1 point for every 12oz. you drink that is not caffeine free. (permanent challenge)

Deduct 30 points for going over YOUR monthly carb intake goal at all! (permanent challenge)

Deduct 100 points for NOT reporting your stats on the 15th and last day of month. Email lagpmgdsls if that is not possible so other arrangements can be made. (permanent challenge)

Ok everyone, let's go out and make it a good month!!

Hello all. Here I am. Gonna post every day. My boss let me off early this afternoon. What the heck is up with that. But I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. At first I thought it was an April fools joke. If it was the jokes on him cause I'm at home already. haha

Okay, I already screwed up and cheated last night so now I lose points.
I am so sorry, I wasn't even going to post about it, but then I thought if I don't I am not holding myself accountable. So here it is, this is it, I want to see 10 lbs gone this month and I am going to do it. From this day forward cheating is not an option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats Rene on 8 lbs gone and being in 6th place. WoooooHoooooo.
our team didn't do to bad but I know we can kick some more butt this month.
lets go Team Meltdown

My cold is better. I think Tatortot needs to get her butt back in here. LOl You hear that mom comon. I do know she has been doing curves and walking with me some at the park. Everyone have a great day.

Hi all...just checking in as well. Tomorrow we fly out so I probably won't be on as much for the next two weeks but will try to check in at least a few times. (We do have the laptop with us but not a cable connection and we are kind of spoiled you know.) I feel SOOOOOOO much better. I have been taking this antibiotic for 4 days but I have to say I honestly feel better than I have for over two months. Still have the cough so my exercise yesterday was just machines but I did exercise! I am really looking forward to April as well. I have to say....I really want to lose a lot this month to get back on track for my 100 for the year. AND because I am only 18 pounds from twoterville.

YOU GUYS....I have not weighed less than 300 pounds since I was 15 years old. I remember at 15 I weighed 298. I am so so so close. I hope that by May 7th (my daughters birthday) I will be down 18 pounds. I know it only gives me a little over a month but I am going to do it. 299 by May 7th, 299 by 7th, 299 by May 7th. I will just keep chanting that to myself. If I make it then it will mean that in the 3 years since she was born I have lost at least 143 pounds. I think that is about one Georgia isn't it? He he! Ok, I feel so much better and I will try to check in...take care everyone and keep me in your prayers tomorrow as I will be flying with two children by myself with one lay over in DC. Wooo hoo...glad I feel better!!!!

Hi Everyone, I need a good kick in the butt, we took the kids to a hotel Saturday, they had an indoor water park so we had a lot of fun on the slides and the lazy river and the hot tub of course.

But now kick my butt for not staying on plan. I am for darn sure on plan as of right now, I am done eating off plan and no more cheats this week, I need to do this week by week or day by day or meal by meal maybe, till I get back to no carb cravings. I am for sure done with cheats, I need to see 278 by Month end in order keep me on the 100lb by end of year track.

LolaR Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can do it lose those 18lbs so you can feel great in twoterville. Congrats on all the weight lost WooooHOOOOOOO. Good luck on the plane with those kids and have lots of fun.

HI Maria, tell mom we miss her terribly and hope to hear from her soon.

Rene you are so good to your MIL. Slow down a little bit your making me tired with all you do. have a great day.

Talk to all of you later.

Nell, no time to slow down, tomorrow it is back to work and then back to the nursing home to try and get mil phone and cable hooked back up. She changed rooms yesterday. And have to get money from her account for what she spent today, because we have to pay in advance and then get reinbursed. And I'm not even getting half the stuff done I'm supposed to Then Tuesday right after work I have to go to human resources. wed is church, Thur is TOPS (Take off pounds sensibly). Oh I forgot to tell ya'll I won't be on here Friday because we are staying the night in a hotel thursday night and friday night for a TOPS convention I'm glad it is at Virginia Beach this year, that is about an hour away from where I live.

Talk to everybody tomorrow

Edited because I meant to say that the gym is supposed to fit back into my schedule this week too

I tell you what I dont know where you girls get the energy. By the time I come home and take care of the animals and go to curves and a walk I pooped. I dont want to do yard work or house work. Do you think I could sub a day of yard work for a day of curves. Its a push mower and takes me about an hour to mow the lawn. Forget weed eating it's too much work and makes my back hurt. Back on plan tom. Gotta go put my water in the fridge. I am going to be really good this week. I want to see 229 by the first of May and I really believe if I put my all into it it can happen.
Go Team

You know what I just realized while reading the 100 pound posts, this could be me next Jan. Possibly at goal or very close. Wow what an eye opener. That is 500 sticks of butter. I think someone said one pound is 5 sticks of butter. My goal is to not look at the 100 pounds but to look at ten pounds at a time. When I get to my May goal of 229 that will be the lowest I have been in ten years and when I get to 205 that will be the lowest I have been in 13 years and when I get to 175 that will be the lowest I have been in 17 years and when I hit goal that will be my high school weight the lowest I have been in 17.5 years. Wow Lets go for it. What do we have to lose but bad health.

Hi everyone, We took the kids to the hotel for the weekend and had a great time. I am back on plan as of today, no cheats.
Rene you have no time to eat no wonder why you lost 8 lbs
Maria- mowing lawn sounds like exercise to me, you are walking and sweating , way to go on the thinking, an inch at a time looks better then all of them at once.

Hope Lolar is having a great time.
HI georgia, we miss you.

Hello all. I am glad everyone is doing good. I am doing good today too. Except I forgot to drink my water I also walked a mile and a half at the park. Told mom we are gonna have to push ourselves. Our (my) goal is to be able to get to the top of Enchanted Rock without having to stop and rest. We have a lot of fun there

Maria, cutting the grass is definately work!!! Glad I don't have to do that

Nell, You're right sometimes I don't get to eat until late. Too many times lately I have gone almost too long without eating. I need to get better meals in during the day because I have noticed that I am very hungry at night and I'm not usually a night snacker. Yay to being back on plan

I got the job at the church nursery. I start this Sunday. She called me today. She said they were a little concerned about my lack of experience, but she said they want to give me a chance to get experience So I will be working with another employee for several weeks and I need to get cpr certification. I am so grateful for being given a chance. All my schooling does me no good with no work experience and nobody to let me get experience.

Talk to everyone tomorrow

Hi Everone, I pulled a muscle in my back this morning and now am unable to exercise I am so sick of these back problems, here I thought my exercise I was doing was helping me. I will have to take it easy the rest of the week. Hopefully by weekend it will feel better.

Rene . Way to go on the new job, hope everything goes well for you.

Maria- WOW, what a goal to set, I like it. Great looking rock to.
I am sure by year end you will be able to do it. How long does it take you to get up there? It sounds like a lot of fun.

Talk to you all later.

Darn it I forgot to post yesterday. Have fun on vacation LolaR. Rene' that is great about the nursery job. I myself have no patience. Nell you need to stop hurting yourself. I know it is no fun. Enchanted rock takes about 30-45 minutes to climb straight up. Once you get to the top the view is unbeliveable. Well worth it. I love going there. Well I need to go and run some errands. Talk to you later.
