Good morning
Well I dropped my son off at school and went straight to the gym before I jammed out on myself. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill at 3.5 mph & 40 minutes of weights for my back and shoulders. Actually I feel a little pooped for some reason, It's a beautiful day here but frosty. Lynne and Mary you'll never believe it but we actually have silly people here who grow palm trees in their yard. I went by one and it is about 50 feet high. It has actually been growning for about 8 years now. I feel kind of sorry for it in the winter here and it totally looks out of place but I guess it makes the owners feel like they have brought a bit of their own country to Canada. Dorothy, any news yet? How is your daughter doing? Well of to the showers Rae |

Lynn) i sent you my measurements.
Hope you don't post them so all can see. i am sort of self consicious about all the flab and loose skin i have on me around my waist and stomach areas. i know i must have 25 lbs. of it on me. Do any of you have this problem? if so does it bother you to? I have lost 100 lbs. over the last four years but still want to lose 60 more to meet my goal of 150. I was very large when i began on Atkins, at 325 lbs. so you see why i have all this loose flab on me. As for my low carb it is doing ok, I just lose slow now and not fast like i did the first few years even though i eat the same. But thats ok with me. i have made low carb a life long plan for me now and thats all i eat. I sometimes will lose four lbs a week and then the next month i won't lose that for the whole month. My weight loss takes spells, but i don't let it discourage me any because for one thing i forget i am even on a diet, i just eat low carb as a habit now. i guess thats the way you get when you have been on it as long as i have been. Hope you all don't think i sound crazy but i am jsut embrassed of all this losse skin on me. I may get it removed when i lose all my weight if my insurance will pay for it because i know its expensive to do it. everyone have a great evening and will check back in with ya tiomorrow afternoon. see ya. |

Lauren!!! Oh how wonderful Dorothy! She is so beautiful and I mean that!!! You are definately glowing. I am glad everything worked out in regards to the cord, whewww!Okay ladies, good thing sweets (Wendy) was running behind. She has all our stats. I completely understand your privacy request and have no problem respecting that. Dorothy and I are switching months as captains just to relieve someone from having to do it all the time. I also wanted to add that I have heard that working with weights helps get you firmed up. People that have lost weight reported that the earlier start they got on the exercise the firmer the skin. I realize you are recouping, but give it a thought. I have tons TONS of suggestions! And, we are all in it for the long haul. I have lost weight quickly many times.....you know the rest of the story. I plan on losing this slowly and surely. Rae, LOL on the palm trees. That must look kinda funny! Its like when I see evergreen trees here, people just bring a little bit of home with them! Since Dorothy has a new edition to the family, I will take this job for March until everyone has settled down. I really don't mind, keeps me involved. Love you guys and Dorothy, congrats again!!! Hi everyone
Oh Dorothy, what a little doll. I love the name Lauren and you look wonderful. Your going to have so much fun with her. Mary, what an achievement to have lost 100 pounds, I'm self conscious about my measurements too so don't feel badly. I am doing some weight training and hope it will help as I lose weight but at our age I think it's a little harder than when we were 20. I think the important thing is that we are trying and taking care of our health so hang in there with us. Your doing great. Hi Lynne thanks for taking this on for another month. I'll take over in April if you like take care rae |

Just wanted to say hi.
Not much going on today. I did have my asthama doctors appointment this morning and all is ok with and he gave me all my new prescriptions for the next six months. So I have that out of the way now. it seems like I have a doctors appointment most every month with one of my doctors. They now have a specilist for everything and you can't see one doctor for everything anymore.... I weighed in today to at the doctors office and i was down two lbs. That was great news for me....i think my scales must be wrong because when i got home i weighed again to check my scales by the doctors scales and I was the same as i was a few days ago and not down the two lb.s like the doctors office scales said i was. So maybe I need to deduct two lbs. off my scales. Do any of you have this problem with scales being different? Lynn0- I got your pm message. I thought no one else was as big and flabby as i am now. it looks like you all are so nice and trim next to me.....I will try and not let it bother me to much anymore. Just wanted to say thanks for all your encourgement.... where in Fla. do you live? I am in Jacksonville. Ever come up this way stop for a visit ok. take care everyone and will check in with ya later. |

Mary, I feel like the biggest person on my dragon boat and am really self conscious whenever they re weight the boat. I know it's not just me but it's easy to feel that way. Take the 2 pounds and re adjust your scale! Who knows which one is right and it will make you feel better. I have 2 scales in the house and they are different by 5 pounds. When i need a boost I jump on the lighter one.

Good morning
I'm having a very lazy day today. I know I have to go to the gym sometime but first thing in the morning is not working today. My weight is still at 224 and am trying to do an induction day today. It's very sunny here but cold. I'm starting to work on the breast cancer charity that I do every year. I set up the silent auction and run it the night of the event. our web site is www.niteofhope.com we end up with about 150 great items and make about a$25,000 . The evening usually makes about $100,000 for the British Columbia/Yukon chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Society. Although breast cancer has never affected our family I have lost several friends to the disease recently so am glad to be able to work for the charity. Anyway hope everyone is having a great day take care Rae |

I think you here are so nice and sweet to support me the way you do here. I have been working on my problem with feeling so fat all the time, i think i may be doing better with it some.
I always felt that people was staring at me or something because i was large. i know I am almost half as large as i use to be but that same feeling is still there inside me for some reason. I know its all physcological but it hurts thats all. I once a long time ago when i was at my 325 lbs,.had a very bad experience with my weight from some others and that still remains with me and its hard to get over it. Today i had to go up to the pharmacy to pick up my allegery medications. The pollen is so bad outside that it is driving my nose crazy. I have asthama to so i have to be careful with the pollen because it will start up a asthama attack and i don't want that. I am thinking about buying some new scales. Do any of you have any idea what kind i need to buy? I saw some weight watchers scales today at my pharmacy and they were $35.00 which was not to bad. I was just wondering which scales would be the most accurate. What kind do you all use? everytime i weigh in at my doctors i always weigh different than i weigh in at home on my scales...sometimes more and sometimes less. I just want a accurate scale thats all. Take care and thanks again for being here for me when i need it so much right now. KEEPING THOSE CARBS LOW WILL KEEP THE WEIGHT LOW TO. |

Good evening ladies, I'm checking in late due to just flat out exhaustion! I did have track practice today and it went really well. My students are so cute. Its a teacher planning day and all the kids show up for practice and didn't want to leave! I had to beg them to go home so I too could go home! They love doing things and being a part of things, keeps them out of trouble. It is a pretty poor community.
Dorothy, how interesting that you and Rae met. Where? When? I find it amazing how the internet has forged some wonderful relationships! I feel so lucky to be part of this. Mary is about 5 hours from me (speeding). I have always thought about relocating to Jacksonville for a few reasons. I have an ex who lives there and loves it. The cost of living is the number one reason. Here it is just getting out of control. Rae, I will check out the site. Thanks for the reminder, I have to make an appointment. You really are involved in some very interesting projects! I will be home this entire weekend, so if anyone wants to chat, I'll be here! Lynne |

Hi Ladies,
Just came from seeing my new GD. She is home and looking great. I have really been having a hard time this week. I have really been staying in track with exercise and water. Not well with the food. Ugh. I will try harder. I eat when I am happy or stressed.Lynne, Rae and I met last summer in Vancouver. My Dh and I were taking an Alaskan cruise out of there last summer. They met us at the Hotel. We has a nice supper and great evening together. By the way I may get to meet you in Oct. We are trying to set up a Cruise to Panama Canal. If it works out we will be leaving from Ft Lauderdale. Mary T. I have a Health o Meter. It weights me within two # of the Dr Office. I have had it for about 4 years already. Sometimes it is too accutrate. have a great weekend everyone. |

Doing better today, and even went out shopping today a flaunted my weight loss which i know i should not do, but it did make me feel better. I just walked standing with my head high and showed the world how beautiful i was looking these days....... Telling myself i am a great person even though if i am some what over weight.. I know I am losing it and that matters to me even if it does not to others. I know you all here are the greatest. To bad the rest of this world are not like you all here. It would be a much better place to live if it was... I am changing my whole outlook of myself and feeling better to. and just think today is the first day i have practiced it to and I intend to keep this up and keep a smile on my face and be happy with myself. I know my hubby loves me wheather i am large or not and he is always telling me how wonderful i look to. So as long as i have him The rest of those who did critize my weight can go to ***you know where......... Sorry if i sound concieted but i had to vent myself. I just made up my mind that i will no longer feel bad because i am over weight... What day are we suppose to send in our measurements and weight? And how often. I know there was a rule page of what w e nmeeded to follow but i have misplaced it. Sorry....... will get with you all later and have a great evening.. |

Rae, teenagers.....not to excuse his mouth but I'll tell you. I spend the day teaching boundries. I think kids like to see how far they can get, you really have to teach them. Thank God you have a "bevy" of girls to lean on!!
Guess Dorothy is busy with the baby, ahhh, I smell baby head, thats my favorite smell. They need a Yankee Candle called - "Baby Head!" For the fun of it, what fragrance would you want? Hi Mary, hope all is well, we surely are having gorgeous weather aren't we! My head is tan from track practice! I got a new Atkins Calander, I thought I would post the thoughts from the daily reading. Also, would you girls be interested in a topic of the day? Something to write about? I'll try to keep it general. Let me know, Lynne |

Hi All,
No Lynne, I wasn't busy with the Baby. Just watching NASCAR. I did see her today. My DD brought. her by for a short visit. I tried out a new recipe that I thought that I would share. It was easy and good. Here goes.I got this from the QVC cookbook. I will print it exactly how the book say and then tell you guys how I changed. it. Halibut Primavera Note: I took four slices of chopped bacon fryed til done. I then saute onion, pepper, carrots til done. Added a package of frozen mixed veggie with two tablespoons of cajun sea soning. Add salt and pepper to taste Then I followed recipe. 1/2 c chopped Broccoli 1 1/2 # of Halibut fillets !/4 c chopped red bell pepper !/4 c chopped zucchini 1/4c chopped carrots 1/4 c chopped asparagus 1/4 c chopped green onion 1 1/2 packages shredded cheese. preheat oven to 375. Wash and pat dry halibut fillets. Place on nonstick baking sheet. Sprinkle veggie evenly over halibut fillet.Cook for 30-40 Minutes. When almost done add cheese . Bake til cheese melts. For a fast recipe you could just take a pkg of frozen veggies and just put over fish and bake. It was really good. Hope you guys like it. I think that you have a good idea. It is alway nice to have a subject to talk about. Rae, do I remember those days. I love having grown children. Mary, Hope you are having a good day. You sound so up today. go girl. |

The Optimist's Creed
Promise Yourself- To be strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everyting and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large to worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. I really liked this and hope that I can do some of this every day. |
