Hello every one.....
Well we made it home late Saturday night. It was so good to see my children. But, also so sad. My youngest does not look the same as when I left him. I still saw him as my baby and when we went to pick him up he doesnt look that way anymore to me. This usually only happens when I have a new baby but this time. I was so sad. It is still sad to me but I know that there is nothing I can do to change it. Well I started the 3-day challenge yesterday. This morning I woke up to a 2.5 lb loss. We will see if there are any more losses over the next couple of days. It says that it is safe to do till close to goal. I dont know how long I plan on eating this way. We will just wait and see what happens. My only concern is when I do get to goal I do plan on bringing back fruits into my diet. I LOVE fruit. I would like to be able to eat 2 fruits a day. As well as 2 veggies a day and not worry about gaining. In a way I want to stay on as long as possible to lose as quickly as possible but I also hate to go without my veggies. So we will see what happens. As for Jarret's surgery. It went very well. I actually got to see the vas. It was awesome!!!! Jarret is doing well also. He didnt follow docs orders completely so he was very swollen last night. So he is home today and has been ordered by his wife to not lift anything. I put Arnica on all the brusing and swelling last night and it looks so much better today. So I put more Arnica and hopefully it will be even better tonight. Hopefully tomorrow he will go back to work. Well I hope every one had a wonderful weekend. I feel like I havnet been around much lately. I will try and post more often. Chat with you later.

Shanna - Glad you are home with your kids. I started the fast today...so far so good
You did great on day 1. What did you eat? 2.5 is a great loss for 1 day Glad Jarret is doing well too.I think the excitement of this challenge has gone south It is sad. In Jan. everyone was so excited and was posting alot and now look...I am not just talking about our thread look at the other threads. The excitement is gone. How can we get it back?My day so far has been good, long, but good. I need to fill up my water bottle again. Last night I was sick...but felt much better this morning when I woke up..I was up until 3 in the morning I don't know if it was something I ate or just part of the flu..I didn't get sick it was the other pain...LOLWell I need to get the kids something to eat and finish laundry yup. I will check in later.

Hello Everyone! I am back from the frozen north! We had a really good weekend. Got to catch up with my sisters and laugh a lot!
Food was ok... Lots of temptation in front of me, I held firm and didn't eat the birthday cake but I did have about 1/2 a cup of fruit salad and about 5 strawberries... I just checked my weight and it was the same so thank goodness I didn't do any damage.... Water was good, I think I drink 100 oz automatically now. Its funny I had to choke it down like bad medicine and now I feel like my day is not complete if I don't get it in. Glad to hear the surgery went well! I just saw pictures of my baby when she really was a baby and hubby and I did the awhhhh thing ourselves.... I will agree with ya Kim on the excitement of this challenge.... Now that its not new and is taking some real "Work" to get the scale and measuring tape to go down people are not posting as much... I don't know what to do to get the excitement back either... I did however decide that my weightloss was going to be my "Passion" and I was going to put my whole being into reaching my goal!!!!! Hope you all are having a great Valentines Day. I am ![]()

Mary - Glad you are back. Sounds like you had a great time. I am glad I am not the only one who thinks the excitement is gone. I WANT IT BACK...LOL I am determined to lose this weight but will admit it is easier to do when I come in and post and get the support we all need. Sounds like you did well on your eating...the fruit should not hurt you too badly. Do you have any plans for tonight?
Gini - hope your day was great!! Shanna and Jarret - any plans for tonight? I am going to be cleaning up some...LOL that is my life right now...clean, kids mess up behind me, clean more, kids mess up behind me...never ending...LOL |

yeah, we are going thru our storage unit
So romantic I know.... and then we are coming home and bbq ing a slab of beef and making a salad. Sending the kids to bed early and who knows... LOL Do you have any plans? I am on my way back to town for load 2 .... How could we accumulate so much junk??? ![]() |

Staying Motivated.... Just some tips I found at Atkins.com
Write your goal weight down on a card and keep it in your purse or wallet or on your calendar. Look at it when you feel your resolve is weak.
Note your exercise activities on a calendar or in a diary. Listing the distance or length of time of your workouts and how you feel after each session will help you track your progress. Keep a picture on your desk or refrigerator of the "old you" before you did Atkins. When you feel temptation or frustration with the pace of your progress, take a close look at the photo. Try one new recipe each week to expand your controlled carb repertoire. If you still have a lot of weight to lose, set interim goals for yourself. Breaking the "trip" down into segments may make it easier to stay on track. Buy a new outfit or item of clothing one size smaller than you now wear and set yourself a reasonable goal of when you will be able to wear it. When a forbidden treat beckons, the pleasure of wearing those new duds should win out over any fleeting pleasure. Visualize yourself at your goal weight-shut your eyes and imagine you have achieved your goal and are sunbathing by a pool and feeling fantastic. Maybe this can keep our fire lit! |

Sounds like you have a romantic night planned...lol just about as romantic as mine...DH is in bed not feeling well But we did go out as a family Fri. night, so that was our v-meal. I think the older we get the less we celebrate V-day. I can think of other things to spend the money on...lol I hope get everything you need out of storage. well I am off to bed. Welcome home to all you wanderers!!
Glad your trips were successful and safe!! Shanna, hugs!! I miss DD's various younger stages/ages a lot, but I have enjoyed every stage and age. Jarret....sent prayers up for fast successful healing!! (ouchies!) Kim, you are so right! I knew that I would not have the Beginning Induction loss this month but even so it has been a struggle! Think I will have to join you on the 3 day challenge! DD and I have been running ourselves ragged lately. We have a number of decorating projects to work on...will keep us busy for weeks! (Hanging curtains, wall art, flower arrangements, etc LOL.) B-sausage L-hamburger, green beans D-beef, spinach

Can't wait to see if Shanna had a loss this morning...I think today is day 3 for her...correct me if I am wrong. Yep I agree we need to stick together on this challenge. I was looking through some threads last night and team 7 is not gone Team 1 hasn't had anyone post since the 11th and last night one posted that she was leaving the challenge. It is so sad. This challenge is so good for us to have. I am not sure how Sweets wants the stats......

I measured after breakfast...but down inches more than pounds. Yup! Gotta do the fat fast to break this stall! I was thinking was just tired from all the running around DD and I were doing, but today I am down with some sort of a virus. Shanna...how did the Creationist thing go? Were you home for it? Was 2/13 ...for 5 days I think? Mary, I bet you are running into 'interesting finds' in your storage unit!! Kim, I saw where the leader of team posted she was leaving the challenge...I think the one remaining member may be absorbed into team 3. The 12 month challenge winners will be the ones that stick it out!! Even if their stats are not amazing...just finishing the race will be huge accomplishment!! Team 10 can do it!!!!!!!!!!!! Jarret is doing better. Still very sore but better. I am down another 2 lbs today. I did eat a small salad last night. I cant do completely meat. I did learn something though. I was eating way to many carbs even though they were in the form of veggies. I am staying with protein for breakfast and lunch and then for dinner I will have meat, salad and a small veggie. I can say that I am very much craving sweets right now!!! I want something sweet so badly. I havent had anything and I dont have anything in the house. So I am pretty safe. I feel like I am missing something but I started this post over 4 hrs ago and have been busy ever since. So if I have forgotten something, forgive me. |

It sure is quite here tonight
Food went well today, waiting to walk until kids are in bed. I am really tired for some reason. This morning DH got home and the kids and I were still in bed They had 25 min. to get ready for school. Grats you seem to be doing so great!! Kim, I was wondering about the fiber too, Kimmer uses Milk Weed from Wal-Mart. I have some Atkin fiber drops I just bought. I can't let myself get constipated, is a problem I had early in January, so much pain! Had a colonscopy a few years ago. Hopefully the drops will work. ![]() Jarret, glad you are feeling better!! I emailed Shawn the other night and he said it is hard for him to post because of his new job. He told me we can still keep in touch regardless of the challenge, so I don't know if he is done with it or not Gini - Thanks for reminding me about the fiber pills..LOL sometimes I forget things so easily...LOL I got a bad headache last night and thought I would post a question about it today I will do that when I am done here. Well I was down another 1.5 lbs this morning. Last night I made a chicken and sausage dish. It did have 16 ozs of cheese and some mushrooms in it. But it was a 9 x 13 pan so I dont think the cheese hurt me much. I figure it is only about 2 ozs of cheese. Today I am sticking with proteins for breakfast and lunch. Even though I have yet to have breakfast and it is 11am.
I dont know what we are going to be doing for dinner. I need to figure that out. I think I will make meatballs for dinner. I can make the boys WW spaghetti with some sauce. Better go lay out the meat. I really think this challenge is just about gone. But, we can stick with each other. If we have to we can always move our thread to another board if we need. I dont think the other challengers mind that we are here though. Kim- Congrats on the weight loss. Keep me updated on how it goes. I will let you know as long as mine keeps going down. If I keep up with this type of loss I will be in new territory soon. ![]() |
