Thanks for starting it. Yeah, I did my model about two weeks ago. I put in all the details and then I opened another document and kept changing my models weight and copying the pictures to my document so now I have a picture of my model at all of my goals!! It's cool cause it lets you see exactly how much difference 10 pounds can make!
My exercise is going really well. I got in 50minutes yesterday. My water intake was low so I'm really going to step that up! |

Hey ladies,
Going well here. I got 40 mins of fast walking in earlier and will get 20 mins of strength trainging in before the night ends. My eating is going well. I have noticed that I am eating a whole lot of cheese so I'm gonna try to lower that a little. I don't want too much sodium. my water intake was good today as well. Ok, here's my February goals: My orginal goal was to get to 265 by March 1st...I am at 269/270 right now. I am going to focus on uping my exercise. I would like to get in a minimum of 40 mins per day. (Remember to increase your exercise by 10 percent for more points) I just wanted to let you know that I am committed to this team and to accomplishing my goals. I plan on picking up the speed this month and pushing myself further ahead!!! Muse, and Joyful.....how are you doing? Anyone have more great recipes? Shell

Here it is!
Hi all,
I had trouble finding the new thread. For the next month, can we please put a link from the February thread to the March thread? That would make things a lot easier. I am going to ask Sweets if we can do that for the main thread too. It isn't hard and it is soooo much more convenient. Thank you Shell for the pm to check on me. That was really kind and much appreciated! I am working to increase the exercise for February, but for this week I was doing good to keep in my 20 minutes. Things are slowing down for me so this will be my new focus. I am going to have to do a lot of minutes this week to make up the time so I get at least a 10% increase. My eating is going well. It doesn't seem to be as hard to stay on plan this time, but the weight isn't dropping off like I'd expected. I think my post induction stall took a little longer to get started. (Usually people stop losing weight for 2-3 weeks right after induction so the body can adjust to the new way of eating.) Mine came about 3 1/2 weeks after Induction. It's lasted for about 2 weeks. I felt pretty bloaty so I thought it was pre-TOM inconveniences, but it wasn't. This morning I was 1 pound down from my last weigh in. That means I am just now -10 lbs from Jan 1, but -17 lbs from where I started on Dec 26. It doesn't feel like that much yet, because I can't see it yet. I'm just happy that it's going down again. I have already done the virtual model ... I found that last year and had fun playing around with it. I wish they had better clothes though (the clothes available aren't very fun). I think the model is smoother than I am now, but I remember looking that way a long time ago. Have a good weekend and Happy February! |

Ya'll I am depressed!
I know this is supposed to be a thread that motivates you and not detract from your resolve so that is why I have been MIA this past week.I started my new job Monday and already by Wed I had pinched a nerve in my back. I havent been to the Drs or chiropractor since I thought I just had a pulled a muscle or something. I like my job and the hrs. but, I hope that I can survive this and continue to work there. I have been flat on my back the whole weekend with a heating pad and some meds I had leftover from a broken arm recently and all that does is make me sleepy but doesnt touch the pain., I know I am sounding like a whiney baby ( like my class) . I just wanted you to know what's going on with me.
As far as the challenge I will do my best not to let my team down but I am physically challenged at the moment but , hope to be back in the groove in a few days. Any word from Mia?? Waving to ya , Shell, Muse,Genie, Mia

Joyful,
This thread is about support ... whatever kind we can provide. A pinched nerve is no small issue. You are entitled to ask for AND receive kind words for your difficult condition. If things aren't better tomorrow morning, I would certainly get it checked out. You wouldn't want to do anything to make things worse. If meds are what you need, then I hope you ask for the kind that will work. Hope you feel better!Muse Edited to add: I put a link in the old thread that connects to this thread in case Mia has trouble finding it. I hope that helps her. |

Hey There ladies...Just a quick post cause I am getting ready for the Superbowl party!!!!
Joyful, I'm really glad you shared your condition with us. This is definitely a place for support and we can't give support if we don't know what is going on with each other. So Bravo to you for sharing with us. I really hope you feel better soon!!!! Take it easy and do get it looked at if it isn't better. Muse, you are doing good so don't stress out. Keep on track and you will see a difference. IF you keep feeling bloated try cutting back on the sodium....like in the cheese. Ok, well I have to run!! xoxo Shell |

Thanks Gals~
Muse and Shell thank you for your support,. I guess the meds I am taking for the pain is working on my emotions and making me not as positive as I am usually but ,this too shall pass. I can't wait to get back to myself . I plan on going to the drs or to my chiropractor , who ever can see first . Will report back after and let ya'll know what they say.
Hope everyone has a great Super Bowl Sunday, My team isnt there so I dont really care who wins ![]() Last edited by joyful48 : 02-06-2005 at 03:34 PM. |

Well here's the scoop ! I have sciaticia(sp)? an inflamed nerve in my back. Got 2 shots of anti inflamatory meds and predisone pk.The curious thing is that I am having diarehea and throwing up so I dont want to take anything
I took 4 pills for that before it finally stopped. That was yesterday but today I dont feel like eating and am afraid to take any of the perscribed meds. This past week has been a nitemare for me physcially. Hopefully I will straighten out soon.I have done the model progression with just the undies , I agree the clothes could be better looking.LOL Genie~ you are doing great WTG! Shell~ Good for you on the water and exercise. I hope I dont lose too much ground considering I am not able to do too much but, I am in it for the long haul. Promise! Muse~ My dr isnt shy about giving me meds she gives me samples most of the time. She wrote a script for darvocet but, I took one and really I didnt feel any different so I just as soon not bother especially since my stomach is in distress Thanks for the hugs![]() |

Good Evening!
Well Hello gang!slowly but surely my back is getting better and my stomach problems have subsided thank God! I don't know what the scale will say .I will be happy if I didn't gain because of all the meds I have been on. Well I am also inspired that a girl at work weighed 300lbs and she has lost 70 lbs already so maybe I can hook up and we can be diet buddies! It sure does help having some one in the physical keeping you accountable and on track.
Hope all of you are doing well take care and I will check in tomorrow ![]() |

Yeah, I bet that you do have alot of snow right now!!! We were lucky this time and didn't get much!
I am doing really well. A friend of mine took a 'second honeymoon' with her husband so I have her kids for a week...it's going well but I am so used to just going by my own schedule and noone elses!! It's good for me though!!! I am staying on track with my eating and water intake. I actually even had a little b-day party for the kids grandma yesterday and was able to bake the cake and make all the food without eating any of it!!! I was pretty proud of myself. I did eat two popcycles this week...they are the Atkins ones and have only 2 carbs....but I know I should stay away from that kind of thing. I am really trying to change my thinking about food and not just eat foods cause I am 'allowed' to eat them...but eat what my body actually needs....and because they have nothing in them my body needs...they are basically just 'filler' food and I don't want to get into the habit of just eating what I can get away with. I did see a carbsmart icecream in the store the other day that had like 9 grams of protein in it. I thought that was interesting. Ok, well I'm not sure if i will be able to post tomorrow. I am staying at the kids house this weekend so they can be near their friends. If I dont check in I will on Sunday. Shell |

Team,
I don't mean to be a "downer," but I don't feel like we're behaving like a team. We're barely communicating with each other. We haven't even heard from Mia in nearly 2 weeks. I have no idea how anyone else is progressing. I haven't learned more about anyone else's struggles and/or triumphs. This weight loss process is hard, and we are doing this "team" thing supposedly so we don't feel so alone in the process. I still feel alone. What needs to be done to get this rolling? Neveragain ... I never got any message back from sweets. I sent her the info but don't know the update or the stats. Muse |

Muse- You make a good point. I will try to be better about posting my progress everyday. It will keep me accountable and maybe better involved.
My water is so far about 80 oz. Will do my exercise still today. Laura |

I joined the presidents challenge online. I want to keep track of my exercise no matter how much or how little I do. I can even compare myself to others in my age or state. Just another accountability tool, I need.
I did work out with Sharon Mann on FitTV this morning. A lot more funner than doing it by myself. Time goes by faster for me. That is all for now. Will check in later. |

Sorry to see you are feeling like a loner. There isn't much coversation or togetherness it seems . Maybe I helped in making you feel unsupported for that I appologize , you are right in what you say. There is power in numbers and after all isnt that what we joined this challenge for ?To have encouragement and comraderie with our fellow loser's? I am going to make a commitment to post every day even if it is just a few lines , just to let you and every one else on the team know that I am in this for myself but for the team too! My posts will most always be in the evenings cause I have to get up so early, I usually don't have time to even check emails . Or maybe sometimes if I get to come home for lunch I will post then too. Thanks for the much needed nudge!
Shell~ If you still haven't heard from Mia by the 15th will Sweets just give us another team memeber? It will be hard to compete with the numbers with us only having 4 active members. ![]() |

Genie~ Good for you on joining the presidents challenge , I have done that too but, I haven't really taken the time to really take advantage of the site and all its help. I thought that I would have time to log in all the data etc but never have gotten around to it . As long as I am holding up my end with the challenge and meeting my goals I am happy.
on your doing your work out this morning. My job is really a lot more exercise than any one can imagine. I manage about 30 mins X3 per day =90 mins I have alot of weight training lifting those little ones ,diapering etc. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday and I will see you on Monday Last edited by joyful48 : 02-13-2005 at 09:06 AM. |

Hi All
Joyful ... I am not pointing any fingers at you. I am as much to blame as anyone else. This team is what we make of it ... we just aren't doing much. We joined this thread for a reason, then we don't follow through like we should. If we don't work together, there isn't a point for doing this challenge.
I happen to think that we do care and that losing weight (and gaining health) is important to each of us. I don't think it matters WHEN we check in at all. It just needs to happen. This team is to help us with accountability ... we can't be held accountable if we don't report in. I agree with Joyful about Mia ... she seems nice but if she isn't willing to check in at all in 2 weeks then it might be better if she were pursuing an individual challenge. She could always come here for support, but her numbers wouldn't be combined with the teams stats. Accountability-wise, I have slipped in exercise. I have been doing 25 minutes a day until Wednesday of last week. I got a really bad sinus infection and was barely functional. Wouldn't you know that's exactly the same time TOM chose to visit? Ugh. I was absolutely exhausted. I came home from work, crawled in bed, and went to sleep. Today is the first day I feel halfway human. I feel really weak still, so I will be doing a stretching video instead of the WATP or Pilates. Eating-wise, I am fine. I got on the scale this morning and I haven't lost any weight. I think it's because my body is retaining water from TOM and my illness. Hopefully some of it will drop by Monday's weigh in. Waterwise, I could be doing better. I just felt sick and didn't want anything but sleep. I'll try to do better today. Muse |

Hey Goalers'
Muse ~Girl say no more about TOM I understand totally what you are have gone through with having to deal with that situation. Thankfully I am no longer visited by that unkind fellow LOL I have trouble drinking the water too but I yesterday I drank at least a 100 oz. I dont think I ever have drank that much in my entire life for the day,
Guess who couldnt sleep for going to the bathroom so much Well I have already done my virtual model , can you say YUCK!! I have to admit it really does come uncanily close to how I look. Well any way it won't be for long!!I am gonna be the red- head bomb LOL I am getting my red on today! covering my gray I mean.Shell~ Here are my goals for Feb: My daily carbs will be no more than 10 a day. to drink at least 100 oz a day ,( I have some catching up to do on that before the end of the month to get my points.) I certainly will do at least 10% more for my exercise totals I will post here every day , if I miss posting I have to explain why I didnt post. Well will check back later TOODLES! ![]() |

Joyful ...
Are you sure about that? No more than 10 carbs per day? That doesn't seem like enough to be healthy. There are times I don't eat 20 full carbs, but it's never for more than a day or so.
Are you doing some sort of fast? Good going on the water, but please reconsider your carb level. If you think you do well with low carbs, how about considering carb cycling? That's when you have 2 modest carb days followed by 1 higher carb day. You keep things changed up so your body doesn't get used to a particular level of carbs and you keep the metabolism running higher for a longer time. For example ... you might have two 10-15 carb days followed by a 20 to 25 carb day ... then back again. If you're interested, check out the Lean for Life thread. That's part of how they lose. Muse |

Thanks Muse for the input. Well I am taking a multivitamin also to help with getting all my nutrients in my daily intake. The reason why I am doing this is to force my body into deep ketosis, I have diabetes on both sides of the family so I am extremely insulin resistant so I do better at the lower end of the spectrum. I am going to do this for this month and dependending on how I feel at the end of the month and if I have lost . Then in March I will decided if I want to continue to do the lower carb higher protein fast, I am doing what Kimmer posted on the Main Lobby , She did this for 7mos and lost like 150lbs . It's kind of a disguised Stillman's . I want to get my hunger level and cravings under control first and then see as I said,
how I feel .So far I feel find and I feel more in control . Hello to ya Shell, and Genie! ![]() |

Hey girls,
Well, I am back from my weekend of kid watching!! Hmmm....well I suppose that I am probably to blame for the lack of communication considering that I'm the team captain, but for awhile there I felt like I was the only one communicating and that I was probably getting annoying with my constant posts....so I backed off a little. I will plug in more. As far as myself goes...I have been doing well. My carbs have stayed below 20 each day. I am focusing really hard on not eating 'empty' carbs and making sure that I am getting my protein. I have hit a 'slump' on the scale...it isn't really budging so I decided that this week I would crack down even more on my water and exercise. I want to lose 8 more pounds before the end of February. As far as Mia is concerned: At this point I would basically consider her as having dropped out. I have tried to contact her and have not gotten a responce. I have contacted Sweets twice about Mia and have not gotten a reply from her as far as a new team member. I will PM her again today and let her know. I never heard back from her as far as your stats Muse, I have no idea. Did you ever just go back and calculate them from the Rules sheet? So...that's where I am. I am struggling with the scale not moving...but I haven't cheated at all and I am working hard at everything. I do think that it's a good idea for us to keep focused and report in. I have been feeling kinda alone in things as well. Ok, well I am going to get some work done. I think we should get back posting our intake and exercise each day. I believe it would push us to be more accountable with our water and exercise especially. So if you are able, post your food intake, water intake, and minutes exercised each day- Also, has everyone made a model of themselves? Shell |
