Hi Everyone,
Lynne, you are right about the snow storm. We were on the edge of it. I am not sure just about 6 inches. What was bad was the wind blowing about 32 miles per hr. the roads were terrible. We still had the shower. It is what she wanted. there was a good turn-out considering the weather. About 25 people. she was afraid if she canceled it she just might have the Baby. I am really tired tonight. I din't do good the eating. Back on track tomorrow. I ate some of the shower cake. It was hard to pass up when you are the one doing the cutting. better tomorrow.

Blechh, I always end up eating cake and then totally regretting it, it makes me feel so bad about myself. I am always the cake cutter, imagine that
- believe me, I volunteer myself!!Okay, weekends are soooo hard. I did fair but would like to really treat weekends like I do workdays. Let's get back on track Dorothy! We can do this!!!! I couldn't help but notice the time you and Rae posted yesterday - sooooo late. I had a hard time sleeping last night. I usually try to go to bed around 1030 but for some reason just couldn't sleep. Maybe I was anticipating the cold weather!! I have to get to a meeting, have a great day, I will check back later. Oh, I noticed that some threads are being locked due to bickering - maybe our little group isn't such a bad idea!! Love to all! L |

Hi Lynne, and Rae,
YOu know Lynne, I think you are right. We have a great supportive group. When we need support is when we fall off track. Thanks for the incourgement. Yes, I am up late. that is because I don't have to work. I usually don't get up til about 8. When I worked I was is bed earlier. Now that is cold I wake up but just snuggle down under those covers. Going to try to get those trips in the Donut store this week. have a great week ladies. Rae, It sounds like your are getting things going with the wedding. What a chore but fun at the same time. I know I am glad I got the Baby shower behind me. have to work on cleaning the house today. I let it go all weekend because of the shower. I have decided that we may have had a slow start but I know we can hang in there for the long haul. go Team. |

Good morning
Thanks to the moderator for moving our post. Well I dropped my son off at school this morning and went straight to the gym. My daughter had a program worked out for me. I did 20 minutes cardio on the treadmill and then 40 minutes of different weight training exercises that she showed me. I really felt great when I got home and then had a high fibre flax cereal for breakfast. I know its not low carb but it has low glicemic index which will not spike my blood sugar so should be able to get through to lunch without eating. I was 226 this morning but I am determined to get a big chunck of this weight off before the wedding. It has warmed up a lot here and the snow is gone so will lnot complain about the gray skies, although I do think longingly of those beautiful tropical days you must be having in Florida Lynne. Yep, Lynne, it is late again. It really is late for even me. Usually I go to bed at 11:00 but just not sleepy tonight. Well, today I was back on the straight and narrow. I hope that it didn't affect my loss too much. Rae, I know that you can do it. man with that much exercise I know you will do well. go girl. Lynne, You know what I have decided that weekend are going to be my new challenge. I have not eaten after 8 since I said I wouldn't. Maybe I can work on the weekend problems as well. Hi girls! The weather is absolutely beautiful here, sunny and cool! I have had track practice yesterday and will have it today. I thought it might be too cold for my little Floridians but the sun is really helping.
Rae, I totally believe in low-glycemic. Its all the other garbage that has caused us sooo much problems. Glad to hear you were up and at'em this morning! Good Job! Dorothy, during the summer, I love to go to bed late! I can stay up all night reading books, the internet, whatever! We have a week off in spring, thats my plan. Okay, so where are we? I went to DD and failed! I watched Supersize Me and saw the light! We've sent our measurements and weight in on the 15th. What is next? L |

I haven't watched super size me yet but will pick it up before the end of the week. I did go into a donut shop and didn't eat any donuts but that isn't really a challenge because I don't like them. Now if had been a pasta house, I would have really had a story to tell. I am going to a fat burning class tonight. It's a really good 60 minute workout and I really like the people that go. It will be really interesting to see if my measurements change by the end of the month. have a great day Rae |

Good Morning ladies! I am having such a blast watching American Idol's auditions - some of those people are hysterical.
I have to say, Supersize Me was very enlightening. Trust me, you will look at fast food in a whole new light. I can't say that fast food was my problem, my problem is always feeling like I never get enough food. I am totally disturbed when it comes to actually portion sizes I see things smaller than they actually are!I feel yicky today. I awoke around 230 this morning and could not fall back to sleep. I went to bed way too early so instead of getting up and being productive, I laid there trying to fall asleep - never happened! I know I will sleep good tonight. Have a wonderful day! Lynne |

H Everyone,
Lynne, I watch some of American Idol Try -out tonight. At least I know I can sing. Lynne, I finally found something to help me sleep. So I will share, I don't iif it will help or not. I have alway taken Calcium with Magnesium in it. but recently I start taking an additional 250msg of just Magnesium. What a difference in the sleep. I still wake up but I go right back to sleep. Any port in storm will do. This is the list as far as I can figure it out. Exercise Weight Loss Inches Loss Dunkin Donuts trip Super Size Movie Article we were suppose to read. At the end of the month we are suppose to add up our points. I ams sure they post exactly what we are supposed to do soon. Have a good day everyone. Dorothy that little lamb is beautiful. Did you make it? I'm gathering from the pink that your expecting a little girl. I'm at 224 this morning and after I get the laundry done will be off to Costco and then the gym. I am going to do induction for a couple of days and see if I can get to 220 before reporting day. Yes, I made the Lamb. Julie is going to have a girl. She is due on the 14th. Lynne, I am going to post picture of snow for you. I would kill for one day of 80's. Lynne, come on up to Vancouver if you want to be cool and wet of course. Dorothy got a taste of our weather this past year. I didn't make it to the gym today. I ended up having company in the morning, had laundry and shopping to do in the afternoon and my god daughters for the evening. I will head over as soon as I drop my son off at school. I think early morning is best for me. Dorothy, you must be getting so excited to have your grand daughter arrive. Our little god daughters are 2 and 8, and we really love spending time with them. Hi girls! See, as soon as the air warms up, it gets muggy and I get a head cold - never fails! I am pumped full of Clariton, Motrin and vitamins. I refused to weigh in last night because I was feeling puffy. I am going to weight (see the forces at work here), wait until Sunday night. My food has been good, exercise is good, I am just not going to torture myself.
I am on my way to teach Saturday school. It is four hours of intensive reading in hopes that this will bring up school and students scores on the state test. It is all data directed, has nothing to do with the student. You can tell where I am going with this, I hate it. The state test, however, if I can say anything positive, has given me plenty of opportunities to make more money since I work at a very low performing school. So how is everyone else doing today? Are we gearing up for tomorrow eve? Whatever happens, I think that it is amazing that I have stuck with this for almost a month. Pretty good achievement for me! Do I get points for that? Bye girls! Lynne, you sure do get points for sticking with it. I have got the exercise part going well but really struggle with the food part. I have never been a junk food person, don't like sweets and really eat healthy foods however I know I obviously eat too much which is why my weight isn't budging. I'm also not getting as much water in as I should so I hate to think I'm letting you both down on our challenge but am willing to stick with it and make February a successful month. I start paddling on the 7th and will be at the gym at least 3 times a week. I am going to use fit day every day to see where I'm going wrong with the food. I only have 6 months until the wedding and really want to lose 50 pounds. I know it is a reasonable goal. Today I am off with my daughter to do wedding things and this evening am going to an east indian dance competition. Have a great day Rae |

Rae, this is a year long challenge! We have plenty of time
Let's post something that we've learned we could actually do for 20 + days. They say that if you do something consistently for 21 days, it becomes habit....I'll go first. I have exercised early in the a.m. and packed my food for the day, every workday, so far this year! The food packing isn't as big as the exercise. I set this goal due to the things I need to accomplish by March 31 and I don't have time to spare in the evenings. You're next....! Have a beautiful day. L |

That's a great idea, thanks Lynne. I can use Fit day every day and really be honest about what I'm eating. I am planning each meal and keeping my daughter's wedding in mind as a goal. I've got the exercise schedule down now. I will be doing 30 minutes of cardio each day and weight training 3 to 4 times each week. Next week I add paddling 2 days a week. Oops don't forget the water. January 31st our FIRST OFFICIAL STATS REPORT
Everyone needs to use the following template to figure out their score. Please compile the score on OR before January 31st and email it to Sweets (sweets10@gmail.com). Exercise points: Weight loss points: Water intake points: Inches lost points: Deduct 1 point for every can of diet pop that is not made with the Splenda Sweetner. Deduct 1 point for every 12oz. you drink that is not caffeine free. Deduct 30 points for going over YOUR monthly carb intake goal at all! Deduct 100 points for NOT reporting stats on the 15th and by last day of month. Add 20 points if you go to Dunkin Donuts (or comparable) 2 TIMES during January. Deduct 75 points if you consumed any sweets at all during your visit! Add 25 points if you watch the movie Super Size Me by the end of January. Add 15 points if you read this very insightful link. TOTAL POINTS ON JANUARY 31ST (OR BEFORE): _______ HI Everyone This is the format that we need to fill out by tomorrow.If you guys will figure out yours I will E-Mail all of them together. Hi guys,
I hope that everyone is ready with there stats today. I did mine. I have my format saved and ready to send. Thsi is what I came up with for the month. Weight 221 #. Sure wanted to lose 5 #. Only lost four. I did well in the measurement department. down from a 40 in the waist to 38 Hips down from 48 to 46.5 I got 85 points for water, 30 points for inches loss 20 points for going to the Donut shop and 15 for the article. I am sorry but I had to deduct 30 points for the diet soda I drank. I really have a hard time with this one. So when I added it all up I came up with 199 points for the total. Please guys send it in format to me or post it. I have really stuck to not eating after 8 P.M. . My biggest problem seems to be eating when I get stress. It can just be a little things. What I am going to do is write down every time I get stressed and how I handle eating. If somethings worked or didn't work I will know. Have a good day every one. |

I have a total of 70 points (I lost 75 for going to the donut shop). Hmmm, not very good.
65 exercise points (only this for 1000 minutes in a month )5 weight loss points 35 water points -75 for the sucky donut shop thing 25 15 Puts me at 70. |
