Cool TEAM MORNING STAR (#13) BIGGEST LOSER CHALLENGE 1/17

What a ding-a-ling I am...I went ahead and posted away at the old thread and then it occured to me it was monday and everyone else had started their fresh new threads.

I want to remind everyone that we do have challenges for this month and will repost them here so you can double check where you are challenge-wise:
<swiped from the rules thread>
Add 20 points if you go to Dunkin Donuts (or comparable) 2 TIMES during January, dined INSIDE and order either a (decaf) coffee or water and consumed NOTHING else (i.e. pastries), and stayed for 15 minutes or more. Your experience is to be communicated to everyone on the post shortly after you do this. This is a self-courage exercise. Victory! (January challenge only)

<snip>

Add 25 points if you watch the movie Super Size Me by the end of January. If you watched it in the past, it counts!

Add 15 points if you read this very insightful link (January challenge only) I recommend you read this first thing!:
http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/s...threadid=304301

<end of swiped material>

I have done one of the pastry shop excursions & read the thread

Hope everyone is doing well, happy monday and happy MLK day!!

Hey Guys,

I want to come back to the team. I sent Sweets an email to see if I should join now or wait until Feb 1st. I don't want to have to deduct points on water and exercise for the time I was out. Can I come back to this team???

Shawna.

Ok Ladies, I have not heard offical work from Sweets on whether Lasi is back on our team for sure (although I operated under the assumption that she never was taken off them team...I guess thats because we were never sent a new player), but I am hoping that she is.

Yesterday was a little rough emotionally, but food and exercise wise, it was great. I had a 45 min workout at the gym including a little running on the treadmill, and an upperbody weights workout. I ate totally clean yesterday and came in way below my carb limit (yey!).

I hope everyone had a great holiday, check in when you can!

Hey Guys,

I am coming back. I am still having a hard time with concentration level and feel really depressed today. I can come back and they will adjust my points I guess. I have to find somewhere to weigh cause my scales won't go that far

I will try really hard, and it will be hard to get back to where I want to be mentally.

I will put my start back date as tomorrow. Hope I can do you all justice, myself as well.

Hey Ladies!

Sorry about being absent yesterday. It was such an awful day, found out that my friend since middle school just got divorced, I attended a meeting where a cowork lost his everlovin mind and started yelling at his boss and I am still fighting the flu-ish thing that seems to be going around.

Lasi I am so glad you are back! Good for you for joining the gym. DH and I joined a gym and I am having a bit of a problem getting him to go with me, but his intentions are good.....

Speaking of, Iam off to my weights class. I will check in with everyone tonight.

Keep up all the hard work, everyone!

Hey Nikoroo and everyone else,

I am staying on plan. I did not exercise today and I should have. I went over to my Dad's house and cleaned out one of my mom's dressers. I got depressed on the way home.

I did take over fixin's for Low carb meat wraps. My dad really like it.

I guess I am expecting too much from myself and I feel guilty when I can't do it. Not too sure about this grief stuff.

Will stay on plan for food.

Tomorrow I work and I am going to probate office with my dad.

See ya,

Hey Morgan,

Glad you found us. Breakfast was 2 scrambled cheese eggs 3 pieces of bacon. Lunch - low carb wrap with meat and cheese.
Dinner - Ham- bowl of chili w/no beans (homemade). I should have had veggies, but didn't.

I have salads for lunch sometimes. I eat sauted zuchinni with spices. I like chicken salads, steak, ham, chicken. I will mix a little alfredo sauce with my chicken sometimes.

I had 96 oz of water today, I am trying to get 124 oz daily.

No exercize today, will push myself for it tomorrow.

Have a great day tomorrow.

Are you a slacker?
Okay all. You joined this challenge to get results for yourself and your teams right?! Well, this is the part of the challenge - NOW it's time to ask yourself if you are contributing to your team (in terms of EFFORT - i.e. points). I don't care if the weight isn't dropping off, but there are many measures in which we get points on this challenge right? Exercise. Where are you in terms of exercise? Remember, if you don't log at least 17 minutes of exercise per day, YOU will bring your team down 100 points. How about water? Carb goal, movie, etc. Are you doing well....can you be doing better? Are you killing the morale of your team in terms of a half-hearted approach? -or- Are you adding an energy that is very conducive to results? Are you a contributor? Can you be doing more? I expect each and every one of you to ask yourself these questions.

I want each and every person to honestly evaluate their dedication to this challenge. I want you to get the answers to these questions in your teams. I am seeing some teams with 120% results within them. PERFECT. Other teams make me cringe when I see an individual's own effort - or lack thereof. Remember folks, your efforts spill over into your teams thus affecting the support and overall cohesiveness of your teams.

It is time for everyone to HOLD EACH OTHER ACCOUNTABLE THROUGH FINDING OUT WHERE THE INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTION IS WITHIN THE TEAMS. I want this information disseminated in your teams and next week, I want communication on anyone who needs to convert to an "individual" status from their existing teams IF they are a liability in terms of everyone's goals - i.e. they just don't seem to care about supporting their teams through their efforts. I want the teams to be made up of assets - not liabilities. Remember, this is a challenge predicated upon results. It's almost time to cut the fat. Next week, I will be trimming the fat - the slackers into an individual status - but ONLY if ALL other members agree. That is how this will be determined. I (me) will NOT determine that. I ask you to communicate the slackers to me so we can reenergize the productive challengers. Get the stats. Grade the level of effort (measured by points - NOT just weight loss people), and let me know next week whom needs to be "reevaluated".

Sincerely, Shawn

WHERE ARE WE INDIVIDUALLY ON OUR TEAM.
LETS POST OFTEN AND WHAT WE ARE ACOMPLISHING DAILY
ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER.

LETS DO THIS CHALLENGE SERIOUSLY

Alliyah,

I do know what you mean about keeping motivated. Since my mom died 1/3/05 I have been having a terrible time staying motivated. My house is a mess, my DH has been sick all month, and I rejoined this group so I could motivate others and therefore motivate myself. It is a hard thing to do.

If we get ourselves in gear, stay on plan, this WOL will become habit. We just need to get there first.

Start each day committing to yourself and to others here (if you want to) what you are planning for the day. We have to help each other, and I need your help also.

Together we CAN !!!!

Well, I went and worked out for 50 min. Combo of upper body and a little cardio. I found out that I need to do 45 min of cardio every day and that will help me to lose this fat .

Dreaded Cardio

I guess tomorrow I will do 45 min of cardio. Wish me luck

Went out to dinner with DD, had hamburger steak, broccoli, salad and lots of water.

What did you do today?????

Good Mornin Ladies!
LasiRH let me say that I am really glad you are back - love your attitude! I have been walking for my exercise anywhere from 19 to 26 minutes each day. Sometimes I do floor exercises but hell I am proud of myself for doing any exercise since I haven't done any in a million years! I am really impressed that you guys are able to do so much so quick! I drink water but not as much as I should or could...I hate it but I will try to do better. I will just say that I think each of us should try for the team and motivate each other but it is like Nik told me I wasn't doing any of this before and now I am...taking it one day at a time! Thanks Nik I have lost 14 pounds that thrills me to no end. I have a stability ball that I am going to start using some of it I won't be able to do but I can work towards that. Ya'll have a great day. Morgs

Hey everyone!

Morgan 14lbs!!! thats fantastic! Pat yourself on the back chica!!

Alliyah, motivation has been slippin on this end too, but just try to stay focused. For me that means checking in and reading the thread even if I am way behind and dont have time to post. Popping in reminds me of why I am doing this (for myself and my team). Hang in there! you can do it, and together we will all kick some booty.

Lasi, Girl you have hit the ground running! I am glad you are back! Look at you go!!

On my end I have been bustin my butt exercise wise, and my body is feeling it. I am so tired that I want to take a day off but I dont want to wreck my momentum. (60 min thursday, 50 min last night)

I am dying for a cobb salad. I know that may sound strange. But its true.

Ok everyone, have a wonderful day. I am going to grab a snack and hit the gym before I talk myself out of it!

Hey there!
The movie was great I recommend it to everyone! Jamie Foxx did an awesome job, of course I didn't realize he was as talented as he is. I read an article that talked about his life he sure has overcome a lot to be where he is today. Lasi I am so glad that you are here and posting!!! Things are okay here I did take today off. I did do ALOT of cooking! I didn't want my DH to do anything because it was his birthday which left me doing it all! What did ya think about the movie? Pretty gross, huh? Myrtle Beach is awesome. I am originally from the east coast I love that area. I have often thought of retiring in Charleston! Take care! Have a wonderful night and day tomorrow. Hey Nik, where are ya at girl? I know that you have been feeling poorly off and on I hope that you are doing ok. Alliyah how's it going?

Hey Morgan,

Glad you enjoyed the movie. I watched the Supersize Me movie, and I went to Dunkin Donuts.

I have stayed on plan, but food did not seem to satisfy me. Oh well, time to move past that comfort zone. Drank 96 oz water. Took the day off from exercise.

See you all tomorrow.

Sorry your food didn't satisfy ya... I made crabcakes tonight they were GREAT. I made a big bowl of chicken salad and cut up some celery. I walked 27 minutes today, it was beautiful outside. I wonder where the rest of our gang is...hope that they are doing okay. I drank 85 ounces of water today. Have a great night! Morgs
