THIN_N_FIT Team 17~~~ 1/17/05

Here we are starting into week three already. We really did kick butt the last few weeks ladies and I am very proud of you. We will do even better these next few weeks now that we know what the competetion is looking like. Stay strong and get it done one meal, one drink, and one day of exercising at a time. I beleive in each one of you and know with the help and support of each of our wonderful team mates we can all do this.

Good morning!!

The scale was still 204 this morning, but I woke up with that feeling of being "smaller". I love it! I am really beginning to see results, even though I still have so far to go.

I can't stress how important exercise is. Not only for this challenge and for points and all of that, but for your health! Not to mention the drastic drop in inches you get when you push yourself and really work out hard on a daily basis.

Only one other time in my life have I kept up a work out schedule and that was when I was going to Curves. I lost inches then too.

I am noticing my skin is hanging different. And I have faith that this exercise will help tighteing everthing up.

I woke up this morning so excited to start my new exercise dvd I bought and try out my new stability ball. That helps too. DOn't let yourself get bored by doing the same routine everyday. Change it up alittle.

We can do this girls! We are doing awesome so far and it shows by us recieving 2nd place, BUT this is only the first two weeks of the challenge. We can not let momentum die. We must push ourselves harder this week than we did last week.

If you exercised on average 30 mins last week, then maybe it is time to step it up to 45 mins per day this week. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Let's take it to another level. Second place is good, but FIRST place is where I want to be.

Good Morning Amber, Dawn, Kim, and Melissa!!!!!!!!!

The scale was the same for me this morning but I am not suprised. I ate at Ryans Steakhouse at 7pm last night and I ate quite a bit. I really expected to see a gain.

Amber is right about the exercise but I am only asking that you even step it up 5 minutes if you possibly can from the amount you are doing now. We are in this for the long road and I don't want to have you increase it to a point that we can no longer acheive our goals. Trying new exercises all the time will keep us focused more instead of trying to do the same ones over and over.

The kids only have half of a day today so I am going to eat breakfast shortly and then get busy on my workout plan for the day.

My goals for this week are:

1. exercise at least 45 min. 5x
2. drink 200oz of water and no less
3. stay under 20 net carbs
4. Only weigh every other day

My menu
B~ 2 md fried eggs, 3 thin strips of bacon

L~ Homemade chicken soup

D~ sm grilled pork steak with 1 tbsp carb options ketchup. 1 tbsp butter with 1.5 cups fried cabbage

Total: 1020
Fat: 68 614 62%
Carbs: 13 37 4%
Fiber: 3 0 0%
Protein: 85 339 34%

Someone on one of my other boards posted this today and I found it interesting myself. She said she checked out a book at the library and this was in there.

1. Don't eat two to three hours before bedtime. I had heard this before and follow it b/c I get severe acid reflux if I do. But the book said that it is good to go to bed a little hungry, if you do, your body will tap into the fat stores and burn them over night. You will then wake up hungry and ready to fuel up......interesting concept.

2. Dont' eat for one hour after exercise. I think I had heard this before as well, You will continue to burn on high for up to an hour after exercise. If you eat, your body will focus on digestion instead.

January 17

Psalm 37:18
The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

God honestly does know what we suffer through when we try to lose weight. He sympathizes with us in all our suffering, but He can also see the prize that awaits us. He knows the inheritance that is to come. Even when we have difficulty keeping our eyes focused on the goal, we can turn to God, who will strengthen us by His own strength. He always sees us as what we can potentially be: slim, trim, and healthy. It is important for us to try to see ourselves the same way God sees us. Remember, once weight is lost, the struggle is not completely over, but we need not ever return to obesity. The fruits of our labors, our inheritance, can last forever.

Today's thought: God wants to see us achieve our goal!

I am feeling really good today. I was so happy to be over the flu I had over the weekend. I guess I shouldn't speak too soon though. Dh is still sick and I could get it again easily.

I just finished up a great workout. I did Richard Simmons Tone and Sweat workout which was 40 minutes long using my toning cord. Then I jogged in place for 20 minutes straight. I got in a workout today that wored each part of my body and feel great about it.

I got my soup made and it sure smells yummy. I can't wait to eat some for lunch. I also shredded some chicken to make chicken salad this week too. I am going to try and get in some new stuff this week to try so I won't get bored.

Hello Ladies!!!

Well #2 is great.. but #1 would be better!!! so let's work our tails off the next 2 weeks...

I ranked #4.. not real happy about that... I will work my tail off and get in the top 3 next time... I feel like I'm below the yellow line.. (you know from the biggest loser)

I have to tell you that I almost slipped this morning.. but I got to work with a steak & egg burrito in my hand (was going to eat it all) but then I turned on my puter and saw my friends... teammates... didn't want to dissappoint you... so I ate the steak, egg and cheese out of the shell and thru the tortilla away in the trash... I want to report everything.. good and bad...
thanks for listening

Kim... How ya doing hon?? How was the dr. appt?? 2 hrs is a long trip. but I'm sure worth it. Must be a very good dr. Way to Go with your Richard date... isn't exercise fun??? I'm really starting to love it..

Amber.. you are so right... exercise and water are the key to any weight loss... thanks for the scripture... I've made a deal with Reva to Exercise as much as she does everyday... for the next two weeks... so I know I'm in for a workout..

Melissa... Thanks for the kind words... Chris was really proud of me too... we're still in heavy competition... he has incorporated fruit into his WOE and I think he's paying for it... I'm down 1 more lb than him... he's starting to feel the pressure... I'll give him a run for his money... lol....

Reva... Our fearless leader.... well I got my 100 oz in before noon.. I'm doin it... it was nice chatting with you this morning... helped me alot... can't wait to get home and exercise... im me later and let me know how much to do...

WE WILL BE #1 BY THE END OF THE MONTH!!!

I need to go and check out the competition... I wil be in the top 3 by the end of the month...

Goals for the week

1. 200+ oz of water daily
2. under 20g of carbs
3. exercise... depends on Reva.. but I think at least 60 min. daily
4. Report Everyday

ARE YOU DRINKING YOUR WATER?

You should be- it can actually help speed weightloss. Aim for at least 1/2 your weight in ounces a day.

WHy should you drink water?

~ Water is a natural appetite suppressant.

~Water Metabolizes fat into energy and helps shrink fat deposits.

~Without water, your metabolism slows and so does the weightloss.

~To get rid of excess water weight, you must drink more water. Retained water is excess weight.

~It's especially important to drink water before and after exercise. Water hydrates your muscles.

Reva~ That link was great... Thanks for keeping everyone motivated.

Amber~ Good to see you girl....you are doing great.. KUTGW

Dawn~ Great job girly.... You Rock.

I am in kind of a funk today... not feeling myself...not sure exactly what it is but... I am working on pulling myself out of it....I won't let you guys down..... maybe it's from not getting enough sleep today. Just feel like I can't catch up with you guys exercise wise....yeah maybe I am jealous that you can all get it done so easily it seems. I Know that is a big key to me losing weight and feeling better. I know all the right things to do......what I don't know is why I can't seem to get in half as much as you all are? YOu are all as busy if not more busy than I am..... so what the heck is my problem? I hate that I am so unmotivated about it. I Want to be, truly I do... and I guess I just have to DO IT. After reading that link anything I say just sounds like a big cop out excuse.
The time I get to myself these days is later at night, and by that time I just want to sit still, in the quiet. I guess I just don't associate "exercise" with "enjoyment" like you all seem to be doing. I don't want to drag the team down with my unmotivated feelings. You all want to be #1 and I am so afraid of not helping to make that happen for you all.

Sorry for the rambling... just having a moody day I guess. With the gain last week when I actually was doing all the things I should... drinking lots of water, exercising, and eating on plan..... still I gained. I am becoming afraid to step on the scale! I just don't know what to do now....I am at the point now where I am more upset about letting you all down than myself...... I just had to let you know where my head was at. Hopefully I can figure this all out. I love you guys... Thanks for all your support.

Melissa most importantly, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO ALL THE EXERCISE SOME OF US DO. Please only do what you know you can physically do without injurying yourself. Trust me exercising didn't come easy for me. I hated doing it and dreaded every minute of it. Once I did it consistently on a daily basis if not at least 4 times a week I felt great and it really motivated me. Do me a favor girly. Try even exercising just 15 minutes four days a week this week and then next week increase your time. I know if you pace yourself you will want to do it more. Please don't stress out over this. We are all here for one another. This is not a race. This is the rest of our lives we are working on.

I am not sure exactly what I want to say but girly I love you like a sis no matter what.
