I've gotta increase the workouts, decrease the carbs some more

congrats to KB for being #1

I'll fill out the sharing stuff later today, I gotta go patrol them halls and make my school safe for democracy, and all that

Elisa, I'm up 4.5. I have a really weird feeling that someone has put a hex on me. Now that Susie, you and I are all up, I'm wondering if it's on all of us.

You'll think I'm cooky but I really had a very strong feeling today of bad vibes due to our success. I told my husband that I recall threads on here about pagans and rituals, etc in 2003.

I keep praying, for real to lift what ever is covering me today and now I will add you guys since it's 3 out of 4 of us.

Susie, hang in there.....with your exercise routine....wow you're building muscle.

Nicole - where are you??

I hope I didn't offend any of you with my gut feelings. I'm not a freak or anything but very intuitive to "vibes."

I've been so down today over my gain that I thought about quitting. I even cried over quitting tonight. I want to be successful but feel like I have let all of you down. Here's what I ate yesterday: 6 slices of bacon, 2 slices of Kraft Deli Deluxe, sugar free jello 1/2 cup, 2 chicken breasts grilled and a small salad with 2 carb dressing. What did I have, say 4 carbs all day with the bbq sauce on the chicken? Crikies..........4.5 pounds????

Ugh, don't get me started.

Please, no one quit........we've got to pull each other through together.

Hey guys!!!!

Okay Kb looks like I am up in all 4.5 pounds today....I even went as far as to call my doc and she laughed at me lol...she said tht it is very quetionable as to what will make a woman gain a few puonds here and there, but that it should leave my body as quickly as it came..(probably fluid) she claims) I explained just incase she forgot lol that I do not get the TOM anymore and she re informed me that "yes Elisa I understand this but you will still get all of the effects on a monthly basis" now this makes sence to me I guess, seeing as over the weekend my BF and Kids were telling me that I had a real mood problem....also she informed me that stress and worry can add weight to our body....it is amazing what stress will do to our bodies as women....now with that told to you all.....
Kb don't you dare quit..I know how you feel I discussed quitting this challenge with my son yesterday and he (wise young man that he is lol) told me this...isn't that why it is called a challenge Mom...it is going to challenge you all as individuals and as a team...challenges are hard and you are just hitting a hard spot, and if you quit then you really did lose the challenge!!!!!
I just like you cried a lot yesterday Kb and I felt like I was really letting you guys down but, we have to hang in there and do our best and our best may not make us number one in the challenge
ratings but we can suceed as incividuals and as a team, and you are a great part of this team....this will be my NEW outlook...I know I will lose this weight....I am making GREAT friends through my team...and we are a team that by the end of the challenge who will be healthier and happier...so hang in there Kb we need you here with us...I plan to do my very best and give it my all which is all I can do and it is all you can do too!!!!!

Susie you are Rocking on that workout girl and yes that 1.5 pounds is definaetly MUSCLE..go on girl!!!

I consider myself a poet ( don't you 3 be laughing lol) and at some point this week I am going to write the Southern Comfort team a real inspiring one lol...keep your eye out ....oh and if you want to see my "work" I will leave this link to you all at the bottom of my reply....take care and I will check in this evening I have a busy day that includes 1.5 hours at the gym

I just have a few minutes---I'll try to get back to this later
but--here's the thing
don't let the little ups in your weight get you down
please, my friends
this is a journey and it will take time
nobody knows this better than I do---every moment of stress puts wt. on me
and it's a real struggle to be the victor--I have to conquer myself worse than anything
One of my favorite lines comes from the film Pretty Woman----"It's so much easier to believe the bad stuff"--I'ts so much easier to believe that you have failed
and to give up or go away--than it is to continue. We've done this to a certain extent all our lives.
Like Elisa's son so wisely put it---it wouldn't be a challenge otherwise

every day we stick with this, inspite of setbacks, we succeed!!!!!

KB--I am so proud of you---look at how far you've come!!! Your body just needs a little time to adjust--and when I eat bacon, I can predict I'll be up in water the next day--it'll pass

Elisa--same for you--I am honored to know someone with your drive and fortitude

more later

much love from
susie

hello

Hi ladies, it is actually 4:30 am and I have been up since 3 am...I got to looking around on the boards and found one that is VERY interesting and was helpful...if you look in the social forum page 5 it is the post from "joyful" discussing weight gain, please check it out!!! I am up with a horrible belly ache this morning and after reading the post from joyful I think I know the majority of my problem...I have a horrible time being "regular" as a matter of fact only 1 time in three weeks..this has been a problem for me for years now and has gotten to the point that laxatives and stool softeners do not help at all. I have a doctors appt beginning of next week to discuss this with my doctor and she will prescribe me something that will help...I hope...she has always just told me to keep stool softeners handy...I am going to go and buy a fiber supplement this weekend and give that a shot too.....anyway just thought I would tell you all about the post...I went to the gym yesterday and worked out for only 40 minutes...just feeling blah!!! will get better today I pray

Kb how are you feeling today hun??? better I hope
Nichole I knnow your life sounds so busy girl but dont wear yourself too thin okay...gosh wouldnt it be nice if we COULD wear ourselves thin lol
Hi Susie hows is that torturous workout going girl...I dont have the stamina for Jane Fonda lol

goal~ to be happy and healthy in 2005
Jan 19~203.5
Jan 26~goal to be 198
Feb 2~ goal to be 195

going to try my goals 10 pounds at a time

I love you guys and pray that God will bless you in every way

Elisa---I can identify with you lack of regularity---I used to be an every day girl, now once a week---I think I'm going to try magnesium supplements. Many have said they help. I've done the fiber, but I think its just blocking me up. Look for psyllium husks--those are supposed to work well--I'm gonna look for those too
The jane fonda tape I've been using is body sculpting. It really is a good workout--but I had to take 2 days off to shake the stiffness. It also took me 2 days to get back up to 40 mins WATP in the morning--but today I actually feel stronger. I'm almost back down to where I was on Sat. and hoping that after the magnesium works, I'll be down lower.
Just don't get discouraged. I't would be so easy to just go back to the old ways--but think of how much better you are getting every day. It's like healing from a disease. Even though the loss is so slow for me--I don't think I would trade the way I feel now (stiff and all) for the way I felt before!!! That's where I get my biggest motivation.
That and the fact that in the past week I have been called the "shrinking woman" and told I am now getting an hourglass figure
KB--I dunno about the hex theory--but I'm sending out some positive vibes (along with the woosh fairy you sent me last week)--out to you.
Keep the faith that this too shall pass (in more ways than one, hopefully ) for all of us

LadyN--- wtg on that exercies Just don't forget to slow down a little and take a few breaths for yourself here and there!!!

gotta go educate some kiddoes
have a great day everyone
mens sana in corpore sano and all that

Hello Southern Comfort, I'm here your new team memeber Pennel and "sweets" sure knows how to place people....you can't get much farther south than me. I am an Australian and I live in the south west of Western Aust. A little about me..... Oh I would have been in an hour ago but I had to watch "The Biggest Loser" and the show I just watched was where Aaron got voted out so I feel I am a bit behind what you are all watching...... Anyway back to me....
I'm 37 a SAHM of DS who is 5 in April and DD who is 14 months both keep my days busy. I started following a LC WOE 3 years ago due being over 300pounds and having no control over PCOS which was stopping us from having child #2. I lost 46pounds and *BINGO* 9 months later a healthy baby girl but in those 9 months I put all of those 46 pounds back on and some....sounds like something you all have heard before I bet....... Anyway This year I have told myself that I am going to lose most of my weight. Since April last year I re-started LC but I was still nursing my DD so I wouldn't drop my carbs below 60gms a day but once the nursing stopped I dropped my carbs down to around 35gms. To date I have lost 30 pounds but that is a loss and I am happy. I can go weeks without losing and then bang off comes 5 pounds. I only have scales that weigh in kilos (1kilo=2.2 pounds) so sometimes I may report no weight loss. I do exercise, I work with weights and on a bike for an hour a day at least 5 days a week (in My Shed) and the other days I will go for a walk with the kids around my neighbourhood (about 1.5 miles) I drink at least 4lts (128oz) of water a day and as you can tell I can convert the maths for myself. I do have most of my stats for over the last 10 weeks (No measurements at the start of the year)and only found this challenge a week ago and spent a few days thinking about joining in, all that thinking made me realize that I do need to do this challenge. My main thoughts where do I have enough online time....well I have just made some.
I have read back and first off Congrats To you KB (you big loser you! LOL) and I see you all need ME, just as well I want to be here. I am up for chats if you want but I am 12 hours in front of the US so I am posting this at OMG nearly midnight...looks like I get to say "HI" and then off to bed for me.

Pennel!! so glad to have you on our team!!! We are a great bunch of ladies and very competitive. I look forward to chatting with you! I am also a SAHM I have 4 children and I am always busy lol. I try to make time to come to the boards often. I know that if I don't I will be right back where I was.

OK KB I am just now doing the questions sorry

1. CC board name: LadyN
2. Real name: Nichole
3. Nickname? none

5. Birthday: March 5
6. Married, Divorced, Single? How long? Married, almost 10 years
7. Children and ages: 3 boys; 14,13,7 1 girl; 5
8. Fur babies? none
9. Where do you live and where have you lived? I grew up in a twin city Texarkana, TX I now live on the ARkansas side of Texarkana
10. What kind of work do you do: Family CEO
11. Hobbies: journaling, reading, shopping for bargains
12. Exercise - what kind and how often: 5 days a week WATP/Tae-BO/The Firm
13. Favorite LC meal: grilled salmon and salad!
14. Favorite TV show(s): The Amazing Race; Everybody Loves Raymond; The Cosby Show;

16. Favorite kind of Music: Christian; Classical
17. Favorite Actor, Actress, Singer Actor: Sidney Potie
18. My weight loss journey info: I lost big in 2001 and slowly regained it. I lost again in 2003 and 2004 and slowly regained it as well. This time I am different. I can do this and I know I can keep it off. I also have a support system to keep me going.
19. How often do you weigh yourself? once a day
20. Do you have any mini-goal rewards or anything special planned when you lose all the weight? DH promised I could buy a new wardrobe. Also for every 40lbs lost I get some jewelry!

I hope that everyone has a great day. Let's try to slow down and take at least 15 min. to ourselves to just relax. Stay focused and know that we are here to win the daily inner challenges as well. Reward yourself when you win those challenges too. I am feeling really fat today and I know it is a mental image of myself that has to change. As I move forward with weight loss this image tries to dominate my thinking to get me to eat. I recognize this as an intense challenge that I must overcome. I will with all the support of this team and by continuing not to give in to that image, but counter it with a healthy image of myself. This is not easy and it requires more effort than exercising for me, but this is what I must do in order to really become lean and healthy for life. I hope that each of you will also challenge the mental image of yourself along the way as well. This is how we will get to our goal and maintain our goal.

Well I have to go now I will try to be back later to post!

Nichole

Elisa: I understand the frustration with the fluctuations in weight. I have them too. I wonder sometimes if I should weigh as often as I do. Your son was right "it wouldn't be a challenge otherwise" I am definitely struggling with this challenge, but that is why I joined. I have a team to think about as well. I am so glad that you had that moment of clarity

Susie: VEry well put! Thank yo so much! That has helped me tremendously!

KB: I understand your frustration. This is an inner challenge and a part of us really want's an excuse to quit. Don't think I haven't thought about it. But I realize I have a choice what to act on. No we are not going to quit because we are Team Southern Comfort and we are going to win this challenge. Both here and within ourselves. I am praying for you to to have strength to overcome.

I love you all and I am so thankful to have you all to share this journey with. It is hard, but it is worh it!

Snow & Weight loss - deep, profound reflection

Thank you all for the welcome, I knew I would be from what I have read all of you are very friendly. As for my stats here are some, if you want any more just ask.
1st Jan weight 291 pounds
15th Jan weight 284 pounds
I have no measurements from the 1st of the year only Nov last year here that is.
Nov:waist 46.5
15th Jan:waist 45
Nov: hips (under the belly)54
15th Jan: 52.5
Nov: Abdomen (over and across the bellybutton) 59.5
15th Jan: 57.5
Which one do we count as "hips" just so I know which one counts in the Challenge. I keep my carbs to 35gms and under and my water to 128oz or more (for every visit to the bathroom I drink 1 glass of water). Since I had a little mishap (lets call it cheesecake!!) in the first week of Jan I have been so good with staying LC and no cheats.
I really do want to make this year my year. I do drink 1-2 cups of real coffee a day only cos I went decaf for 3 months and the scales didn't move at all so for me I would rather have the real thing. I start each morning with a glass of warm water with a TBS of fresh lime juice (should be lemon but I have none left and the lime is from some I froze in ice blocks last year) and in that I have a TBS of psyllium husk, it really helps, believe Me! I see that Elisa and Suzie you are in need of some too. I chug that down with my multi vitamin (DR Atkins would be proud) I don't eat a lot of frankinfoods as down here in the west there just isn't many available and those that are cost an arm and a leg.....take the Avantage Bars $4.49 a Bar!!! And that is no joke thats what they want for them. "Carb Choice" is here but only a few things and same deal about $2 more than it's higher carb counterpart so I eat a very simple diet of fresh foods, meats and eggs. I did however find on these boards "yocheese" and I do eat that! Not a lot due to the cost of the good yoghurt.
