Deep 6 the # Thur-Sun

Hi Everyone,

Putting up the thread for the weekend. How is everyone doing? I used to do a Challenge on the Goldie BB and I found that this format worked. I usually would ask a question that would get us all to thinking. I also think our thoughts would be a good way for us all to get to know each other. Question is What is your Best tip for getting in your Exercise in each day? I Was the original Couch Potato before I sarted this WOE two years ago. When I first did Atkins I did no exercise at all. I now do Curves 3 a week and have just started doing my treadmill again. My tip is this if you are not working). As soon as I get up in the morning I put my exercise clothes on. Then there is no way to talk myself out of the exercise. I have to get going. I am going to Curves as soon as I finish this. I am going later than usual today because the roads were Icy this morning. Go Team 6

Well, I usually walk, but it is freezing rain out or was, but only suppose to get up to 26 degrees today. I think I will try to go to the Hospital to walk this winter, they have a track in the basement, at least in cold weather. I live in a real small town.
I am goin g to try to walk to the mailbox today without busting my butt. Wish we had curves here, Redslipper.

I had scrambled eggs with melted cheese this morning, but still don't know what I will have for lunch or dinner yet. Sure need to go to the store, but won't venture out today.

Better go and get busy. Hello to everyhone following and stay LC
Lets get this done!!

It is snowing now on top of ice and sleet .
Didn't bust my hiney when I went to the mailbox. Lol
I got a little cleaning done, now think I will curl up and read for a while. Nice being retired. Tryed to call my Sis in M.O. I couldn't get her, it is snowing there also.
My daughter Lisa Just got a fab Job she has been wanting for a long time. She is sitting on cloud nine. She emailed me about it this morning. She is a Lawyer.
On the flip side, Son #2 is getting a divorce and he had to get a lawyer(not daughter although she has been advising him) it is getting nasty!!!
Son #1 is okay, he and his family. Thank God.
Well, I will quit my yacking. Nice to have y'all to talk to though.
Take care,

Hi Girls, Have coffee in hand.
I think this is going to be a up day. I haven't got a lot planned except to go out on this sheet of ice and try to get some errands run today. Cupboard is getting bare like old mother hubbards.

I thought last night I was getting my cold back, chest started getting tight, but this morning I feel okay.

I haven't eaten anything today yet. Thinking bacon and eggs. Getting tired of the fried ones. I might boil some or devil some. Steak also sounds good to me.

I finally got a hold of my Sis, we always talk for a hour or more and my dh Just rolls his eyes. Lol We are close. Shes my only Sis.

I have to get in the mode of exercising again. I have some exercise tapes so might try to do one of them today.

I have to call Son #2 today to see how he is doing( the divorcing one)Right now he needs all the support he can get.

Better get off the old duff. Tring to get my hair dryed enough to go to the store and walmart. I don't use the hair dryer as it drys my hair out to much.
Great LCing and GO TEAM #6

H Shirl and the rest of the gang.

It is a snowy day here in Maine. We got about 5 inches last night. For us we really haven't had too much snow. Everytime we get some it has melted.I don't mind the snow it is the ice. thank goodness we don't have much.I have been staying on Plan. Monday I will weigh and see if I have loss any weight.I hve been writing everything down on the Calendar. So I know on the days have too many , I try to eat less the next day. On LFL I can have from 30 to 50. I try to stay with the 30 though. Well, later gang. going to doing some treadmill for now.

HEY I FOUND YOU!

Redslipper I found it now. thanks.

Been doing better with the low carb and have gotton over most those craving that i had for junk food over the holidays. Boy that junk can mess you up bad, I mean it made me feel tired and sleepy all the time.
WHAT IN THE WORLD DO THEY PUT IN JUNK FOOD ANYWAY?
what it is it is addictive.

also am drink more of my water and getting in my exercise to. I still have to take it easy for a few more days because of the minor surgery i had on my back to clip some nerves in it on Tuesday. But did do some walking today and rode my exercise bike for about 15 minutes.

got my menu all planned out for today to and have been folling that to a tee.
breakfast was 2 eggs with cheese and coffee.
lunch is a taco salad with ice tea to drink
afternoon snack is a few dry roasted peanuts
supper tonight is porkchop and grilled veggies and ice tea.

I do pretty well when I plan my menu's out and stay stickly with them which I try to do. I plan them on the week-ends and then I do all my grocery shopping usually on Monday and get everything I need for my menu. this works out well for me. do any of you make out menu's?
I would love to know some of the things you do to keep you on low carb. like how you are cooking and what you cook.
I even have my pantry in my kitchen set up for low carb. I have all my low carb foods all sorted and orginized in it so I can keep track of anything i may run low on and need to get. I do buy some can veggies but I get the unsalted ones, i buy salsa, can cheeses sometimes, low carb options products to like spagetti sauce and such. I buy my Atkins products for baking muffins to.
I always keep alot of low carb foods on hand so i do not have any excuse not to eat low carb.
NO JUNK FOOD IN MY HOUSE ANYMORE EITHER.
All junk food went out a long time ago except for this holidays they were brought in by friends and relatives. But they are gone now to, sent them all away............

Want to start on thinking of some good ideas for some snacks so I have them when I watch the Super Bowl on t.v.
you all know our city is hosting it this year right here in Jacksonville, Fla.
so be looking for our great city and a great place to live to. Its beautiful here.
If any of you have any good recipes send them to me ok.
Last night on Emeril he had a low carb cooking show . I want to get online this afternoon and get those recipes he had and print them up to keep.
And also Rachael Rae on 30 minute meals had a low carb show yesterday to. she had some great ideas for snacks, one with cucumbers that looked good and one i want to try.

Will see you all later, remember I need some ideas for low carb snacks..........
see ya.

Just getting on -Line to vent. I went to smokey Bones for lunch today. My DH had a Dr. app and he has been wanted to go there for lunch. I though Okay they have a good luch special. I got the Pork-Pulled sandwhich and the salad. Thinking I could just put the meat in the salad. So far so good. I got their Italian dressing. I really enjoyed lunch. We were out shopping about an hr and then came home. As soon as I came home I had cravings just like I had eaten a high carb meal. I went on line to look at the carb count. I am so mad. The salad dressing had 16 carbs in it. I sure wished I had looked at the menu first. Just go to show you. you should always check first. that just put me way over for the day. Another all protein day for me tomorrow. thanks for listening. Only LC people would understand why I am upset.

Fla girl, glad you finally found us. Man you sure are organized. For me it just isn't that simple. Not when you live with one who is trying to gain weigh. Today the Dr was happy to se my DH a little fattter. He is up too 140#. He is 6'4".So I try to have fattening things for him.I too love hearing how other are doing this plan. Most of the time I eat a pretty boring menu. that is what works for me.Check with you guys later.

Hi girls! As you can see, I am posting late. Went to dinner and a movie. Saw Kinsey lets just say I was blushing!

I am looking forward to getting back to school, routine is very important to me to for diet reasons! I plan everything and shop for everything on Sunday.

Dorothy, I have seen two Smokey Bones here in S. Florida and was wondering if they are any good. Does their BBQ have sugar?

I will check in tomorrow! Nighty night!

Praying my blood sugar comes down. I am diabetic and it was high this morning.

Hi Ladies,
I am perkier this morning except for the blood sugar, as the sun is out. It is suppose to get up to 70 by tomorrow after all this nasty weather.
I most certainly will get out and walk tomorrow and monday.
I am having a cheese and bacon for Breakfast or lunch, no bread, the cheese melted on the bacon and a slice of sweet onion. Breadless sandwich I guess you would call it.
I am going to look at the recipes on this site and make out some menu's.

Hope everyone has a great day,
Shirl

Lynne,
I think a routine really helps.
Redslipper, I like Barbecue too. I also was wondering about the sugar and where can you buy the sauce without sugar. I know there are brands, but Just don't know what they are.

HI Ladies,

Answer to your Question, If you type in Smokey Bones and scroll down on the page there is a site that gives there Carb count. I get the Pulled BBque meat and it comes without sauce. They also hve side that you can choose from. I get the green beans and the Brocoli.( Can't Spell it) I will go back to the site and find carb count for the meals we can eat. So starting over again today . Trying not to beat myself up too much over yesterday.

Okay, I looked the carb count at Smokey Bones. This want I came up with. I think the amount of carbs for the BBque is not to bad. I do not add the sauce they have on the table. The carb count for the Pulled- BBque is 6 carbs. it is quite a bit of meat. Asparagus 3 carbs. Salmon Steak 8 carbs Min-Salad No Dressing 9 carbs. Grillled Chicken Cobb Salad Fat Free Ranch 13 Carbs (16 Carbs Reg Ranch). Bleu Cheese 2 oz 2 carbs. Shril, my Favorite BBqu Sauce that I use at home is Carb Options. I get it in Wal-Mart . It is right next to the reg. BBque stuff. I hope this has helped you guys. Have a great day.

Shirl, Here is hoping that they Blood sugar is down.

hi, just wanted to see whats going on here today.
I have been i bed most the day because i was not feeling to well last night and stayed up most the night. Don't know whats wrong just light headed and wozzy and feeling a bit nauesated to. I tossed all night long last night so this morning I just slept in. still not out of my pj's yet but i am feeling a bit better though, at least for right now.
Really haven't eaten anything today much ,just drinking alot of fluids thats all. May make me something later.
I never eat bar-b-que because I thought it was loaded with carbs. And I do watch my dressings I eat on my salads, i usually buy the low carb options ones.
Do any of you eat seafood? I love it so i cook alot of it but I always grill it or broil it in the oven with italian dressing on it. Its really good that way. I like shrimp to and keep them in the freezer to top my salads with.
don't think I need to stay up to longer because i am getting weak again so better go. see ya.

Mary T, sorry that you are not feeling. Take care and maybe tomorrow will be a better day. You are right but if you just get the smoked meat sans the sauce you will do okay. I usually ask if they put sauce on it or can I have it without the sauce.I am not a real big seafood lover except for shrimp and Lobster. by the way my SIL is from Jacksonville. My DD and SIL got married at Sawgrass.I think that is the name of the Golf Course, 11 years ago.I like Jax and would love to be there for the SuperBowl. Of course, I hope the Pats will be in the Super bowl. going to watch some Football later. Do any of you watch and who is your team? Later gang.

WOE: Losing weight the smart low carb way & exercise
Start Date: Jan 1 2007
Hi everyone

Back from a great weekend, we had a huge snow storm here so spent the weekend reading. Yesterday when we left the resort I discovered a gym but the power was out most of the weekend so it probably was closed anyway. We did get out and walk around the resort but other than that not much exercise. Needless to say I am up 2 pounds from thursday so back to basics. I am out to do some grocery shopping and will be going to the gym tonight.

I am going to rent Super size me today.

Mary, hope you start feeling better soon.

Hello Deep Six

We have had our shar of Snow here too. Rae, sounds like you had way more than us. Looks like you had a good weekend. I am sure those # will be gone in no time.

Shril, I know all about blowing it. Just keep at it.

LynneO, Hope you had a good day going back to school.

Fla girl, Hope you are feeling in the pink these days.

I went to my Red Hatter meeting last nite. It was at a Chinese Place. At least it was a buffett and plently of salad to choose from. I made myself a big salad with shrimp. yum Problem was when I got home an hr later I want ed to eat again. I am wondering do I stress everytime I eat out.?Once again eating out was a problem. i don't want to avoid eating out. That is one of the reasons I choose this plan. It is so easy to eat out.I guess I will have to have a better plan next time. Maybe a planned snack for when I get home. Maybe something like a hard boiled egg. What do you guys think? any suggestions? Have a great day everyone

Hi everyone

These are the days that I love being retired. We are going to get more snow this afternoon and I did all the grocery shopping yesterday so it's just vacuuming and laundry today.

I nearly rented the Supersize me movie yesterday but my daughter said since I don't each junk food it probably woudn't be worthwhile. It was still a one day rental so maybe I'll wait until near the end of the month. Has anyone else seen it?

I lost 1 1/2 of the pounds from the weekend so 1 1/2 more to go and I'm back to the pre weekend weight. Hopefully it will be gone by tomorrow.

Dorothy, when I eat out I usually pick a steak and caesar salad and ask the waiter not to bring bread. For some reason at a restaurant I am really thirsty so I drink lots of water which helps fill me up.

I would really like to get to 220 by the end of next week.

How are you feeling Mary? Better I hope

Hi Shirl enjoy your company.

Hi Lynne, my daughter teaches graade 8 t0 12 math biology and chemistry . This is her first year of teaching so she is on call in three different school districts. She hopes to get a permanent job next september. She loves teaching but really hates not having her own class.

Have a great day everyone
