I didn't know I was on one either until I went and read sweets post this morning...lol!

I'm not sure what we are supposed to do but let me introduce myself. My name is Jana. I live in Utah. I have been married for 18 years. I have 3 children, a son who is 15, a daughter 12 and a son 5. I work for the IRS. (Please don't hold that against me lol)

I am doing induction on the atkins plan and doing aerobic tapes and walking.

My name is Angie and I have been married to a wonderful man for 7 years! Will be 8 on Valentines day! I have 3 children ages 12, 10, and 4. I'm a stay at home mom and babysit 5 boys all day long. I adore kids!

I'm also doing the atkins induction and will probably stay on induction for a long while. I have been walking on the treadmill and hope to get rid of 90 nasty pounds!

Hopefully shaylabooboo & kcrane will join us soon!!

Hi ya'll!!

I am here, just got back in from out of town and didn't know that I was on a team yet either until I read Sweet's post.

My name is Tammy and I live in North Carolina with my sweetie and our 2 little girls...3 1/2 and 18 mos.

I am currently a SAHM but want to look for a job, just need a little more confidence in how I look. (I know sounds stupid)

Anyway I am really excited about this and I hate that we're one person short than the other teams. Hopefully we will get someone before the 1st stats are due so we will have even playing grounds.

In the past I have done low carb (Atkins like) and lost 70ish pounds then lost track and started eating whatever I wanted and stopped exercising and of course gained it all back.


My goal is to lose 100 pounds minimal and stay at 50g carbs per day. I plan on hitting the gym 4 times weekly for 45 mins of cardio and 2 times strength training.

Looking forward to whoopin a** with ya'll!!!!

I also meant to add that this is the year I'll be hitting the big 3-0 and I REFUSE to be this size in my thirties. I am gonna be one sexy thirty sumpthin!!!!

I'm upset that we don't have enough people yet either, but at the top of sweets post, she did say that she will add another person to our team as they sign up. I did see a couple people signing up on the sign up post but they requested to be with another team.

Jana....Hope your having a good morning. How was your walk last night?? I did walk on the treadmill for about 20 min. I had to watch "The Biggest Loser"!!

Good morning everyone,

My walk last night was great. I went with my mom and boy can she walk fast up those hills. She about killed me but I sure felt good when it was over.

Drinking water is going to be the hardest thing for me I can tell already but I managed to get 60 oz in yesterday. Today I am shooting for 100 oz.

Good Evening!

We have a major ice storm here and the electric keeps going on and off. Hubby made it home safe and kids got picked up so all is good! School was cancelled today and will probably be cancelled tomorrow. It's been a rough day diet wise but I did good. (I'm an emotional eater)! Stayed on plan and very proud of myself!!

Jana...walking is tough! I'm so glad to hear that your mom went with you. It is always better to walk with a buddy!

Glad ya'll had a great day. I have been soooo busy today that this is the first time I've had to check in and it's 1:15am here so if that gives you any indication...

Anyhoo,
I've been on plan even though my DH brought home fast food the other night and it smelled sooooo good but I had to keep reminding myself that their fries and things taste so nasty (always have) but they smelt soooooo good I made it through and am very proud of myself!

I have to say that breads and potatoes are my weaknesses and last night was faced with the challenge of making it through my MIL's dinner complete with fresh baked bread...I made it without any!!!

I also pm'd kcrane I'm hoping everything is cool with him and he will check in soon.

I haven't got a calendar if someone could email to me and I also didn't get a spreadsheet yet. If one of ya'll could email it to me I'd appreciate it!

As for a captain and name....hmmmm lets think on it a few more days as I'm sure we all have a large amt of obligations already LOL especially with kiddos and DH's, and jobs, and well just life. I know we have to do it soon though.

I have no idea of what we could use for a name??? Does it have to include the #16 in it?

I am so tired and my mind is going in circles and into dead ends so I will end this post before ya'll think I am crazy!

Hi Girls,

Ok I think I'm going to float away I've been drinking so much water today. I think I was in the bathroom every 5 minutes at work lol. No coffee for the last 2 days has been no easy task either.

The only thing I can think of with 16 in it is sweet 16. But I don't think our name has to have 16 in it.

In the social thread the guy who started the challenge ( I can't remember his name ) gives his email address to get a calendar or you can email me and I will forward it. My email is Jana@aol.com. I didn't know anything about a spreadsheet. This is getting complicated lol.

Tammy you did good. I hate it when my husband brings home good smelling food.

Angie, we are getting a ton of snow today but no snow days for us. I can only remember school being closed once in my whole life. Oh well. Wish they would close my work

Hi just checking in!

I'm fixing to put the kids in the tub and get them on into bed. Usually I check in more during the day but I have been working on getting my house back in order after taking Christmas decos down.

It takes so much effort to put that stuff up. After the kids get to bed I will have a little alone time to myself to surf or read. Yay!!!

I have to go to a baby welcome home party in the a.m so I had to go pick up a few things for that. My best friend had her third baby on the 2nd of Jan. She has a 3 yr old, 19 month old, and now a newborn!!!! I truly admire her!!

My two girls are driving me crazy now...I couldn't imagine adding another right now! Although I do want a little boy sometime in the near future

I wish it would snow here! It's been in the high 60's and 70's here when our normal high is like 43.

I probably differ from everyone, I love cool weather, not frigid but cool!

Good Afternoon

Work was a killer today. I'm sure glad it's Friday.

My husband took me to lunch and I had one of those low carb burgers at carls jr. I felt sort of self concious eating it. I don't know why. I guess because I was the only one without a bun. It was good though. The sign said it has 6 carbs.

Tonight is date night so we usually go out to dinner and hit a movie. No popcorn for me. It will be hard but I know I can do it.

Angie, we are getting snowed on too. Where do you live?

It was too cold to walk outside yesterday so I stayed in and did an old Richard Simmons exercize tape my mom had. I guess I need to think of alternate things to do now that it is getting so cold. I think I might go swimming a few nights a week.

We didn't make it to a movie last night. We went to dinner and it was snowing so hard when we came out that we just came home.
There is another thread asking for the team names and captains. Does anyone have any ideas?

I was just added to your team yesterday. I was thrilled when I saw this challenge. My name is Tamara. I'm 36 with 4 kiddos, ages 11, 6, 5, 3. I'm a sahm and my hubby is in the army. We're currently in sunny Florida but moving to North Carolina hopefully in May.

I started induction on the 6th of Jan and am doing great! I'm not new to low carbing but needed a definite push to get going again. This challenge looks like it's exactlyl what I need.

Tamara…so good to have you with us!! I’m glad you your doing so great on your woe!! I started on the 3rd and it does get easier, I think. Hubby even took me to my favorite Mexican restaurant last night and I didn’t eat my usual. I have 2 big chicken breasts and some lettuce with sour cream….it was yummy!!

Hi Jana…I live in Ohio. It is sooo cold outside….brr! Glad I have a treadmill until it gets warmer outside!! Do you have a YMCA or anything to go to? Sorry you didn’t get to go to the movies last night. I love watching movies!! I also do the Simmons tapes. A little corny, but I love em’!


I like the name “sexy sixteen’s” but I’m game for anything! I seen that post about the team caption with the names and I really think we need to figure this out! Anyone want to volunteer for the position?? I know we are to weigh in on the 15th and the 30th but are you guys going to weigh anything other time? I’m doing it every Monday.
