I'm about to go to bed. It's just gone 11pm here. I feel that is equally important for us to get enough zzzzzzzzz as well as drinking our water, keeping to our personal carb levels and of course exercise.

Well we MADE it!! OMG I had to talk to my dad very sternly about how he was talking to my mom - people were staring at us
Other than that all went well - he has to go back on Sunday for a CT scan (I'm going to be in TX so older sister has to take them). Then dad goes back in for the procedure on Wed. I have eaten 4 hot wings and two slices of ham from inside a sandwich all day and I'm really hungry - dinner is pork loin and salad. So far today I've downed 140 oz water so I just have a bit to go. Jen - I live about 1/2 way between Sacramento and SF, Napa is about an hour away - one of these days we'll meet up either here or there - I'm coming to visit my sis later this year . |

I am in a great mood today....have gone 2 days without cheating or even thinking about it and am down to 207! Yeah! I get so motivated when the weight starts to peel off me!
Dawna! WTG! You did really well yesterday! DO you like your Gazelle? I was looking at them but don't know anyone who has one. Is it worth buying? Actually I talked Ron into getting me a treadmill last night. We are going to go looking this weekend. Probably won't get it right away because we just spent alot for Christmas. He said he will watch Patrick this weekend so (if it's nice) I can take Michaela in the jogging stroller and we can go walking. I did my first "Firm" video last night. OMG it kicks your butt! I am going to try to do it everyday. It says to skip a day for the first week but I don't feel sore or anything. I have been taking the stairs at work everywehre I go. Merrily- glad your trip to the Dr.'s wasn't a fiasco . That's cool that you live close to my family. My Aunt Sue (Sonoma) is moving back here as soon as they sell her house. She thought seh was going to like it but she said it's just not home. Hi Nikki! I agree with the sleep thing. I don't get enough because there's always a kid or 2 in there with me along with cats! No room for Jen! Had some "Pumpkin Gunk" for breakfast, brought chicken, green beans and more pumpkin for lunch. MUST get the water down me today !

Hello Fab Five! Can you believe I forgot to weigh this morning! Arrrggghhh! I was so anxious to do it, but had a hectic morning and totally forgot!! I HATE weighing in the afternoon, because it's always more than early morning, especially after drinking so much water all day!!
Jen-Horray for 2 cheat free days! So that's a loss of 3 lbs, right? Awesome! My biggest thrill was finally getting into "onederland" and you are almost there! Meri, thats a LOT of water! Good for you! Our points just keep adding up! Dawna-A+ on the exercise and the 20 carbs! Nikki-I am having a HARD time with the zzzzzzzzzzz's! I am still in stay up late mode, and have to be up at 5:30 everying morning again to get my daughter up for school! Have a wonderful day everyone! Fab Five ROCKS!! ![]()

A quickie as I'm dashing out the door to go to Texas - water today is over 100 oz and I will make 150+, food is one EAS shake for breakfast, 2 hamburger patties for lunch and dinner will be pork loin & salad (already made up & taking it with me).
Taking my laptop so I'll be posting daily - pray for a safe flight tomorrow Oakland to San Antonio - tonight we are staying in Oakland as our plane leaves at 6:00 AM, it's a 45 min drive this time of day but in the morning (commute traffic) it would be 1.5 hours. It is so much easier to stay in Oakland and get up at 3:45 than stay home and get up at 2:00. Did any of you ask for a spreadsheet from sweets? I haven't gotten one yet to track everything. I'll e-mail her again later this week. See ya!!! |

How are you all doing this fine lo-carb day?
Bynny! I can't believe you didin't weigh in this AM! That's funny! Just think of how much smaller you will be when you weigh on Saturday! I NEVER weigh unless it's 7:30 when I get to work. I try to wear the same type of outfit so that I know what my "true" loss is- even fully clothed. Merrily- For your trip. I take it you travel alot?? Say Hi to all those Texas cowboys. Gotta love 'em. I haven't flown in a long time- 13 years to be exact. Quoting Meg Ryan: "I get around as God intended- in a car!". No, it's not that I don't like to fly, it's just that Ron and I don't ever go anywhere unless it's within driving distance. Probably because of being dirt poor newlyweds then having kids! Anyway..had a great day food-wise, so-so water-wise. Have only had about 80 oz. but will get 150 in before bed to earn some points. Made a tossed salad and burgers on the grill tonight. Am totally satisfied. I haven't gotten a spreadsheet yet either, Merrily. Thought I would just take Shawn's rules and build one tomorrow. Well, gooddnight all and hope you had a productive and healthy day. Jen ![]() |

Looks like I'm the only one on the other side of the Atlantic. I live in a small town in Leicestershire. which just happens to be in the East Midlands of a country called England.
The weather right now is fine, and slightly breezy and as it's 7.00am it's still dark outside. Now I have to get DD up breakfasted and dressed. I'll post again later. Nikki |

Morning! Miserable weather where I am at today! Snowing like crazy. I've heard as little as 2-4 inches and then 7-13. Oh well, that's what we get in the winter. We've been really lucky so far this year. Hoping for an early spring.
Weighed in and am down to 205. That's 5 pounds since Sunday! Yeah! That's why I love this WOE. Don't know why I ever let myself fall off the wagon last time. Feel better too! Lighter, healthier! Nikki- I would love to come to England. Iam very into my family's genealogy and have traced it way back to (I think) 1070. It's so interesting. I have a lot of famous people in my "tree" that I never knew was there until I started digging. My Dad and I really want to take the kids over. Michaela loves castles and all things old (like me). I keep forgettig to tell you that my son, Patrick, was headed towards autism because of his food allergies. He was about 1 1/2 and hadn't started talking, wouldn't snuggle or be affectionate, etc. I would have had no clue but one of our pharmacists here at work has a son that developed autism becuase of really bad food allergies (they didn't detect hisuntil he was 5 and still wasn't speaking- he still has alot of problems). We had Patrick tested and he was severely allergic to all cow milk proteins, beef, lamb, banannas, egg whites, deathly allergic to peanuts, etc. Within a week of taking all of these things away from him (and boy was that hard because we all had to change our way of eating) we saw major changes. He instantly started to talk and he is the biggest snuggle-bug I have ever seen. I thank God everyday that we caught it in time. Dawna- I may have to look into getting a gazelle or something similar. I would like to try one first, though. Your soup sounds yummy! Keep up the great work! Byn- Hope you remmeber to weigh this AM! I bet you'll see a major drop. Ron has been staying down towards VA with his truck becuase the weather is stinky up here. I can't remember where he goes.. I think he said Culpepper adn Pine Grove (?) most of the time. I'll have to ask him when he calls today. I've never watched the biggest loser but probably should! See ya! ![]() |

Good Morning!
Ya know somthin I hate living in a stufpid town with idiots over our schools! (sorry I had to say it or type it) everything is closed all over town (churches, other schools (smaller) ) BUT NOT OURS!!!!! ANd I hate to drive in this junk & I have to get out to take my dd to school! AND if that isn't bad enough they are predicting before I have to pick her up it being alot worse!
Yep I live in dorkville! Ok enough of that lol ! I did good on plan yesterday but I do have to say I am not sure if I can do the sugar & the caffiene withdraws at the same time. I might work on the sugar until induction is up then work on the caffiene it is really hard because I am giving up apartame (and what diet coke can you get other than diet riet (caffiene free) with splenda in it? Well I am off to lay something out for supper . Love to all have a warm cozy day! I would love to come to ENGLAND!!!! that is like a dream of mine! Alot of people want to go to Hawaii, etc Not me my dream is to go to England.....

Good Morning!
Well, I weighed this morning and I have lost 5 pounds!!! I was very happy! Only 5 more to go to get back to my pre-Disney 185!! It's raining and icky here today so I wont be walking so I am going to go to the gym right after work. Yay Jen on the 5 pounds so far! That number 5 must be our lucky number!! Stay inside and keep warm and cozy. Ditto on the England envy! Since my daughter did a project on England several years ago we have been dying to go there. Then my cousin studied for a semester at Oxford and came back with so many awesome pictures. I know what you mean Dawna about dumb school systems! We had an ice storm here last winter at about 5 am, and they did not close the schools. One highschool boy was killed in an accident there were several bus crashes, and kids were stuck for hours on buses. It was a nightmare. For the rest of the year they closed schools for flurries! Dawna-The headaches should stop soon. Mine werent as bad this time, I guess because I was only off low carb for a 2 week vacation. But last April...ouch! I was addicted to coke, so it was really hard doing it all at the same time. But at least once it's over, you will feel great! Maybe you can just wean off the caffeine gradually, after you get past the sugar withdrawals. Good Luck!! Have a great day everyone! |

Yoo Hoo!?
Hi Everyone! Just wanted to check in before going to bed. I turn in early!
Had a really good day today. Had "Pumpkin Gunk" for breakfast, small salad with cucumbers, swiss and roast beef for lunch and for dinner another salad with the same. Had a few pork rinds with some onion chive cream cheese for snack. Have only had about 80 oz of wada and need to go down a few more glasses so I can be sure to wake up at 2:00 to run to the potty! For the love of God- You'd think I was pregnant or something! NOT!Spent a little time reading some of the other teams posts. They are a very determined bunch as are we. I am really hoping for a few more pounds to be gone when I weigh tomorrow. I can't wait to be back in the 190's. It's the greatest feeling to put on too tight clothes and have them fit. Please whoosh fairy...all I want is to see 190's by next week...pleeeeaaaasse!?? Hope you all had fantastic day and are seeing results of your hard effort. I need to get on track with my exercising. I think bending down to pick up 5000 legos should be counted as exercise. So, I'm pumped and glad to be a part of this challenge and this team. I really can't wait to see how we rate at the end of the month. Woohoo Byn on the five pounds! Let's see who can get to 10 first. Ready, set GO! We are going to kick some butt! I totally agree with the vacation to England - it's #1 on my list of places to visit! OK-so the plan is that we are all going to England when we hit goal! It's a date! Dawna- I know what you mean about the schools! Here they will give a 1-2 hour AM delay and then send all the kids home at noon because they shouldn't of had them go to school in the first place! Geeeez! Well, girlies, must get myself a big glass of wada so I can get to bed! See ya! PS I like Smilies! |

Everything is going to plan. I did my first cafe challenge yesterday. I sat there with a de-caf coffee, whilst my MIL sat there and tucked into a large slice of chocolate gateaux. But I did it!
I bought myself a new exercise mat today, my old one was looking very sorry for itself. Now I realy must fill in my fitday food journal for yesterday. Nikki |

Hello! Hope you are all doing great this morning!
Dawna-I hope your head feels ok today! Nikki- Good job on the challenge! More points for the Fab 5!Jen-You're on! A race to first 10 pounds lost! Our challenge within a challenge! Meri-If you check in to read this, hope you are having a wonderful time in Texas! I was REALLY happy this morning because I tried on a pair of pants that I bought at the end of the summer because they were on sale for REALLY cheap at Hechts clearance sale (final cost was $6 after all the markdowns), and they fit!! They were sooooo tight when I bought them that they wouldnt even go up past my hips. I had forgotten about them, so it was a nice surprise finding them in the closet. And the best part is that they are a SIZE 10! I know they must run big, cuz all my other pants are 12's or 14's, but still, it's a 10!!! So that's my woo-hoo for the week! A 10!! yay!!Have a fab day everyone! |

Hi everyone! I live in a winter wonerland that's for sure. Woke up to 8 inches of snow followe by a down pour of rain. Not sleet or freezing rain...big, fat, wet raindrops. What a sloppy mess.
Walked downtown on my lunch hour because I forgot my lunch. Went to a bar/grill that makes the BEST salads ever. I had the grilled cheese steak salad. OMG! YUM! That's all I had today so far because I had to take Patrick for a Dr. appointment at 8:00 then I had my teeth cleaned at 9:30. I had Black Berry Cherry tea this AM and it hit the spot so, I'm having another now! I'm going to try to not eat anything else for the rest of the day and tank up on water. Ron won't be home until 9-10:00 so I don't HAVE to cook. The kids are easy. Toasted cheese (on lo-carb bread of course!), some tomato soup and I bought them lo-carb Del Monte fruit cocktail. They aren't overweight at all but I figure, start them young! Will jump back on later! |

I'm doing Atkins right now but plan to change to Lean for Life shortly. This is because I have heard that it is better for us ladies of that certain age.
I'm in the process of eating up the food that is Atkins friendly but not LFL friendly. I'm too much of a skinflint to just throw good food away. Still haven't filled in my FItday! I'm too busy reading 'The Subtle Knife' part two of Philip Pullmans 'His Dark Materials'. Nikki |

I am doing Atkins also. It's worked awesome so far, so I doubt I will change unless it stops working for me.
Do you guys want to keep this as our only thread, or start a new one each week? I have no preference !Let's do some "getting to know you" post! Everyone answer this question, then someone else come up with a question after everyone else has answered this one. Do you have kids (I think we all do) and if so, what are their ages, names, interest, etc. Mine are: Amanda, 19, is in her first year at Christopher Newport University. She is majoring in Theatre Arts and getting her Masters of Teaching, and wants to teach elementary school. Ashleigh, 16, is a Junior in High School, also loves theatre, but does the technical aspect, such as lights, stage managing, etc. Brandon, 12, is in 6th grade and is fortunately still my sweet boy. He also loves to act, and has been in 10 productions with our local childrens theatre. Also video game and skateboard obsessed!! So those are my pride and joys! Now tell us about yours! |

Hey girls! Feeling pretty rotten today. I feel like I'm getting the flu or something. Didn't eat anything until about 1:00 because I was afraid to
. Feel a little better now. Sipped tea all morning and ended up eating cauliflower and the topping of of a piece of pepperoni pizza. It was just like eating a whole piece!Sitting here now drinking a caffeine free Diet Pepsi wishing I could go home. Hey Byn! When I first got on this site in 2003 there was a post on the Playground that said to list 100 things about yourself. It was cool because you just start writing and your mind goes from one place to another and pretty soon there is so much info about you that probably even your own family could learn a thing or two. We should do that! Anyone want to? No weight lost today. Just a 1/2 pound or so. I'm only going to count the full pounds I think. I feel like I lost inches though. Will measure myself tomorrow AM. My kids: Michaela, 4 1/2 years, was a premie baby by almost 4 weeks, horse crazy like her mom, very strong willed, had cork screw curls as a toddler but has straight hair now, psychic (seriously!) to the point that it's scary, loves angels (some of her best friends are angels!), princesses, books, movies, Barbie, and wants to be an animal Dr. when she grows up. Patrick, 2 1/2, a snuggler, sucks his thumb, known as Linus because he has a blue blanky that you best not touch, is NOT potty trained, is into any type of heavy machinery, has major food allergies, looks alot like me, was due on Michaela's second birthday but born 9 days earlier, has a very gentle nature and natural affinity with animals. So much different than your kids descriptions, Bynny! Nikki- what is Lean for Life? Is it like South Beach? |
