I've read the article, saw the movie last fall (yuk--I agree with whoever said this should be shown to school kids!!) and tomorrow I'll be buying doughnuts for the members of my department--and I'll just have a decaf. coffee.
I've stayed at 20 carbs, but I ate some sausage yesterday with some olives and pickles and didn't notice the sausage had over 500 mgs. of sodium--So I'm retaining water today--was 4 lbs. up this am.--but I'm drinking tons of water . I was just a little under goal yesterday--mostly because I had forgotten where i had set my goal

It's rainy and yucky and I'm frantically trying to get ready for school to begin again tomorrow
I'm planning on exercising later this afternoon and then again before school tomorrow

Okay yes I am really enthused about this and I so thank you for the vote of confidence on the team captain thing but....I would feel sooooo much better with that in someone elses hands.......I am a little backward about thos kinda things....glad you found the post and hope to hear from our other teammates soon..understan the water retention thing...but so far so good with the plan here...we are gonna do great just wait and see!!!! talk to you soon

I have already lost 5lbs!!! since yesturday! I am drinkning tons of water. I drank 120 0z on yest. and I am fast approching that amount today. I am also nominating you as our team Captain!

Hi Susie! Pleased to meet you! TEam 14 Rocks!!!!

I will give each of you a little info about me.

I am a SAHM of 4 and I love it! My children go to a small private classical Christian school where I am Chair of the Parent Association. Iam often busy doing all of the coordinating of our volunteers, fundraisers etc. I can't wait to get to know each of you! I have been heavy since I started college. My heaviest was 270 and right now I am trying to get back to my siggy weight of 226. From there I will be going down to 130!!

glad u found the post and woo hoo 5 gone already alright!!!!!well I am down 10 pounds since Dec 28th so woo hoo for us all!!!!! Okay we need a Team Captain and as you can read from my post I don't feel I am the one to do it ...once we all get in this thread and meet one another then we can decide from there.....I am for anyone but me ...I guess I am like my dogs ...I like to BE lead lol.....anyway I think we are off to a geat start with a great group.....a little about me ...40 years old will be 41 in Feb. , and I am the mom of three grown children and 1 very spoiled 4 year old grandson which I keep part time....I began LC in March 2004 and lost 83 pounds and then sometime in Oct just fell off the wagon and gained some back but all of that back off except for 7 pounds....and by mid week it will be too...I am in this for the LONG HAUL

Hey all, it's been a busy day I just signed on tonight. I received 2 pms....one stating I'm on Team 14 and the other Team 13....am I on 2 teams because there's enough of me to go around???

Ok, I see the issue, I am on both teams with a mis-print. On Team #13, I'm listed as "LB" vs KBnocarbnc. There is not an LBnocarbnc.

I sent a pm to see where I really belong.

Good Morning Team!!!!

Well I hope the rest of the team shows up today in here so we can get this thing ROLLING!!!!!! It is 6:40 am and I am up early to get the house and dogs taken care of so my daughter and I can hit the gym, (first time in 2 months shame on me)..but I paln to be ther at least 3 to 5 times a week again, like I said I had lost my way for a couple months....okay I have been cheat free since Dec. 28th so I feel I am off to a great start and down 11 pounds now woo hoo!!!!!I have been thinking of the NAME thing and we will see who all and how many we end up with on this team...I have seen that there are still more joining the big loser challengs and that some are quitting for various reasons...so hopefully by mid week we will know where we stand....as far as the Captain thing if it comes down to it I will be glad to do it but I am happy with whoever it ends up being....Susie, LadyN, and KB I just know we are gonna do this thing to the top!!!!!

Leaping Lizards!! I am down another 1.5lbs this morning! That brings me to 6.5 lbs gone as of 1/1!! Glad to see you Elisa. I lost my way for a while too. Felt like being in a perpetual fog and aimless. I feel so invigorated now. I will be taking a walk in an hour.

I hope everyone checks in soon. I am really ready to get setlled into this.

We are all kicking down the door to the new us!!!

glad u r with us KB...okay guys got back to the gym today and did a 1 hour aquatics arobic class and then hit the treadmill...woo hoo! I feel great....okay u guys need to start keeping count and writing down

carb intake per day
water in ounzes per day
excercise per day because we have to turn that in on the 15th....of course I think we just add each of our totals and send that to Sweets...I think that s right anyway....okay who is the excercise guru of the group...I think that is who we should have as captain!!! we are still missing a member, KCrane...hope u make it cant wait to meet you !!!!any ideas on anything is a plus ladies

Now see this is why I do not want to be a captain...it seems that i told everyone abot keeping track of your stats and Much too long has notified me about the calender she made for eveyone to do just that...so my apologies to MTL and to the team...would one of you PLEASE volunteer as Captain for our team, thanks guys!!!!

Well someone volunteer to be captain!!

Today I walked for 35 min. and I have had 100oz of water so far.
I am sticking to plan I plan to add in more exercise daily. I hope everyone had a great day. I will notify shawn of our group's status.

Hi all, I'm hurting on Day 3 of Induction. It's not the carbs, it's the lack of caffeine, I think. I'm not a pill taker, but I've been on Tylenol like crazy with gushing headaches. I think it's because my body misses the 2 liter of Pepsi I used to drink every day.

I'm in it for the long haul. I've done this before and I know already how good my body is feeling without all of the carbs.

So are you all weighing everyday? I get discouraged but do weigh, are we to post here each time?

Also, is there a concise place to find all the points? The goal is to accumulate points, right? I think I joined up later and missed a lot of the discussion emails and now there's like 11 pages to read through which isn't going to happen!

I'm so excited about this venture!

Goal 1: 275 on 1/15/05 met!
Goal 2: 265 on 1/31/05 met 1/30/05
Goal 3: 255 on 2/15/05 (mid month BL stats)
Goal 4: gain less than 10 pounds on my cruise!
Future goal: wear that purple formal dress for my 10th anniversary in July!

What I was looking for in 2003 wasn't found in 123 pounds lost, but I found what I was looking for in 2004 and me dropping the pounds is secondary at this point. ~KB

KB..I feel for you hun..I suffered my first two weeks on my first induction with migrains from hell!!!! well this trip(my second} on induction hasn't been near as bad ...but I will tell yoiu this u r gonna feel great soon..so hang in there hon!!!!and try caffeine free diet rite it is really good I promise

Let's all list our strengths and weaknesses. I'll start.

Strengths:
I love drinking my water
motivation

Weaknesses:
EXERCISE I don't like it, but I do it.
I like pasta and good bread
sweets
frankenfoods
I still see myself as really fat; I need to be able to see myself thin.

I will probably think of many more things later but this will get us started.

Hey, everyone.
It's monday--back to school.
I asked sweets to e-mail me the spreadsheet--but I have been unable to get into my hotmail account
This has been for a few days now---I can't figure it out.
I've been writing my stuff down on a calendar
today--90 oz. water, so far
30 mins exercise (this is my biggest challenge, because as a teacher, I'm up at 4:30 and on my feet all day.--so by the time I make it home, I'm exhausted)--I think I'll do 15-20 mins in the morning--that seems to work, and then do another 30 mins before dinner (it felt great tonight!!)

I haven't counted carbs yet--I want to see if I can fit in cauliflower, green beans and salad for dinner!!!

Lady N-- YOur loss totally rocks!!!

Elisa---don't you realize you are a Natural leader--your enthusiasm has totally kept me going the past few days (I completely HATE New Years eve, day, etc.)--as a history teacher, I don't think I ever got over the year changing when it becoming 1970--(stranded in the '60's?) Anyway--we can do the leadership thing however we want--perhaps we can all cooperate.... I think that this is all so new, we're all kinda scared
(maybe we should make LadyN do it---before the poor girl fades away from losing so fast )


KB--please stay!!! We WANT you!!!

anyway--I'll check in again later!!!

oh---any thoughts on a name???
maybe something like The Minimizers??
(I also teach Latin--maybe I could find some neat Latin motto or name for us)

weaknesses---I can be lazy
I need to really push myself to exercise
I would love to swim (I can do that for hours)--but no pool and time is a problem until after May

Yes we should check in here everyday. I also weigh everyday; I think it keeps you honest. As for the points I'll have to check on that for you. If all else fails I will compile a list for you. I hope you feel better soon. I know how you feel I thought I couldn't live without my coffee I am doing fine now.

Susie: I like the minimizers. I wonder if you could come up with something really cool in Latin? I hope you are able to get the spreadsheet it is really good to have.

LadyN--- I'v taught Latin for 18 years now, In Killeen TX which is kinda between Waco and Austin--
in the center of the state--where Ft. Hood is, etc.

I really enjoy it-- it helps so much with understanding English--especially vocabulary!!
