Good Morning Everyone,
I was so glad to see our Team Thread started. I have been reading some of the other teams threads. We need to get totally PUMPED. We have some strong competiton out there and folks who have been LC'ing for awhile. It looks like a lot of us started or re committed 1/1/205. How about us sharing a bit about ourselves, how long we have been lc'ing, and what some of our individual goals are. We need to choose a name, and what it stands for. Let's think of something really COOL. We have to have LOTS of excitment and complete dedication for us to compete. Let's Rock ![]()

Time for my introduction.
My name is Laura, I am 48. I am married to a Chef. We are haveing our 4th wedding anniversary in April. I work part time, hopefully going to become full time as a Sales Finance Coordinator. My work is .7 miles from home. I walked there and back for the first time yesterday. I want to do that more often. I like to read, am attempting to learn about oil painting and will try my hand at that. I love taking pictures and have a good collection. My children are grown and are all on there own doing well. I am still developing my goals. I am taking it one day at a time, but I know I also need goals. I drank 144 oz of water yesterday and it took me all day (I wanted those points) I don't know what my exercise goal will be, hopefully about 5-6 times a week.I started on LC back in 98. I lost about 40 lbs. My husband died and my diet did too. I have started back just about every year and will only last 2 weeks - 4 weeks. I lost slowly, so I gave up. I know I did not count carbs because I wanted the easy way. I am now following the Atkins strickly!!!. I have to for it too work. I am excited to be here and to get to know you all. We will be a great team together. Yesterday, read the post we were supposed to read, 144 oz water, 53 min of exercise, 22 carbs. |

I know first hand it's not about carbs and ketosis but about mental changes as well. I'm ready to combine everything I've learned in the past 2 years and be a true success story. I'm a 37 year old female and am 5'3. To my astonishment, I just weighed and was 294.8 pounds and had a body fat percentage of 51.7. My waist is 53 and my hips/apron are 59 inches. My ideal weight is to just be in Onderland again and stay there. I got as low as 170 in 2003 on Atkins but would like to lose 100 so I am comfortably within Onderland by 5.2 pounds (194.8). I am starting Induction tomorrow and will be under 20 net carbs hence forward. I am also starting off excerising from Day 1 this time which I think was a mistake I waited too long to start doing in 2003. I hope to be on a team. Good morning teammates!
I am on my first cup of water for the day (when I say cup...I mean a 32 oz big gulp plastic cup...its how I measure my water) and pondering what to have for breakfast. DH and I slept in so we are getting a late start on everything. I may take myself for a walk before he gets up. to everyone. I will check in later! |

Thanks for sending a PM to the others. I have been thinking about a name and picture. I will try and send you a picture I took of a beautiful orchid, whose name is Morning Star. I thought that would be a good name, every morning we wake up as Stars and continue our day as Stars. Let me know if you have any ideas on anyhting else.
Hope the rest of you show up, we miss you ![]() |

alliyahNikoroo, I don't even know if I said hello to you. If anyone is smart to make the picture and name for our teams signature, please let me know your email and I will email it to you. PM me on it. I just completed 35 min on a treadmill, first time using one. A a friend of mine up the street said I can use it anytime. I have had 96 oz of water, my goal is 144. I had a low carb wrap with meat and a little cheese grilled in a bit of bacon grease. It was yummy. See ya later |

Ok, I see the issue, I am on both teams with a mis-print. On Team #13, I'm listed as "LB" vs KBnocarbnc. There is not an LBnocarbnc.
I sent a pm to see where I really belong. |

Hey there! Sorry I didn't get here sooner there is so much to read! My name is Jen, I will turn 40 on the 9th! I am 5'10" and I weigh 296 - ouch~ I think that being part of a team will motivate me and keep me REAL! Hopefully I will be able to do the same for you. I love Mountain Dew - this is my weakness! Heck, I love food, it is my weakness. But I love myself and want to be around for a while. I moved to Colorado 18 months ago, the man that I married 18 months ago moved here for his job. I lived in the south for 20 years prior to that! I miss it. I have an 18 year old daughter that will graduate this year! We have two dogs. I work for a medical billing company. The television show the Biggest Loser inspired me again to lose weight but I stopped smoking instead.
It was HARD! So at any rate I am in! I drank 101 ounces of water today! I hate water! lol So I am trying hard. I exercised for 21 minutes...definately been a slacker in that area! You guys have a great day tomorrow! Think positive. Also the name is great! |

Glad to see everyone. I drank all my water, exercised for 35 min and 18 carbs. Good day. I am very excited. I will either have a Hardees bunless burger or a Sub in a Tub at Jerseys Mikes.
See Y'all tomorrow ![]() |

I hope we will all be cheerleaders for each other, Well, got in 25 min of weight training, and now I am shaking. Got to get ready for work and breakfast and finish my first 32 oz for the day. I think DH is coming down with the flu. Have a good day and post often. |

Groovy! The one I got I ended up not liking at all.
I am up too early today, I guess that means I can get a jump on my water-- which is good I guess, cause I have a hard time getting past 64 oz. Morning everyone!! |

Congrats on the water Alliyah.
It is 9am and I am worn out already. Took Shower, Drank my first 32 oz. Made breakfast, took it to work to eat. Now I can sit for a few min. Nikoroo, hope the other one is what I am looking for. I sent her a picture of the orchid named Morning Star. I think it will be GREAT. Lost 1 lb. Glad about it but wished it were a little more, I guess my body is getting used to all of this and I have been drinking LOTS of water (144 a day) and I know that my body will hold that for a day or 2. This is the most water I have ever drank. I am also counting my carbs. Last time I was one LC, I kinda winged it and didn't get anywhere. This time is different. What are your individuals experience with LC. Have you been doing it for a while? Share a bit of your LC history. |

Lasi, congrats on the 1lb!
I first did atkins about three years ago-- and I mean I was religious about it, and it paid off...I lost about 30lbs, then I went off and bought into a whole bunch of anti-lc bs. I did nutrisystem, jenny craig, weight watchers....in the mean time I gained back all the weight, plus and additional 25ish lbs...and finally I had to come to terms with the fact that my body does better when I limit my carbs. Since that time I have attempted reinduction but I end up feeling sick--so I have a higher carb level than people who are inducting, but its signifigantly lower than the number of carbs I was consuming on the other plans. My loss will likely be slower, and thats ok, as long as it STAYS off. ![]()

"""Motivational Tip... (copied from the Social Forum )
Hi Everyone! I just wanted to share with all of you a motivational trick that I use for myself. I learned this in a day treatment program for depression this past summer, but I think it applies here as well. As we are all approaching this new challenge, we are all excited and hyped up about making 2005 a great year. It might be beneficial to use this energy to write a letter to the 'future' you... describing who you will become, what you will look like, how you will feel, and all of the great new things you will be able to do with your new thinner body. Seal this letter in an envelope and put it away. The next time you start to feel depressed or badly about your progress, open this letter to yourself and remind yourself of what you are working towards. Just a thought! Optionally, I suppose you could have the letter sent to your team leader, and then at some point in the challenge they will mail it back to you. Like I said, these are just my thoughts and suggestions! It is up to everyone else to do with them as they will! Debbie I thought this was really cool, I think I will do this. ________ |

That sounds like a great idea. Once while I was going to ww we wrote little postcards to ourselves with a pledge that we had made to ourselves and our leader mailed them to us a week later. It was very motivating.

Good Evenin ladies! Hope that everyone had a great day! I drank 123 oz of water today! Walked for 30 minutes and I have had 11 carbs today! Not really been too hungry think it is all the water! Not looking forward to all the potty breaks during the night. I have had a little bit of a headache today I am sure it is the MOUNTAIN DEW withdrawl!
I am not really interested in being the team leader so as far as I am concerned whoever wants it - CONGRATS - you got it! Have a great night and a wonderful tomorrow. Oh what little banner and how do you use it? |
