05 Biggest Losers challenge Team 2 where are you?
I saw a lot of other teams with postings but I didn't see ours so I thought I would start one.
Just to let you know a little bit about myself I have been married for 16 yrs I have 2 kids Tanya age 15 and Cody age 10 I live in Minnesota- the state that has unpredictable weather. I love cake but do not eat it anymore my goals are 118 oz of water per day 60 minutes of exercise 5 times a week I have already read the message we were suppose to read for points and I have watched the movie Super Size Me very good eye opener. I have got my water in and my exercise done for today. I have also baked a cake for my husbands birthday and never touched a single piece or licked my fingers while baking it. I plan on 20 carbs per day and that is very hard for me because i usually stay about 50 carbs per day which is probably why I am not losing much. This challenge and being on a team with all of you will help me a lot because I am afraid to screw up because I don't like people mad at me so I will stay on track. I can't wait to lose 100 lbs . My plan is to also walk at work on my two 15 minute breaks for a half hour of exercise during the day. Well enough about me how about you guys.

Hi everyone,
I think I have probably emailed everyone this info but I am so excited! I need accountability and I do better if I am supporting others. I work full time in Social services and have two young children Samuel (4 1/2) and Adell (2 1/2) and a husband for 6 years Marc. Marc stays home with the kids while I work. I do have a membership at the YMCA and also like doing workout videos (Richard Simmons of course ) with my son Sammy. My daughter usually just plays with something else unless shake your booty is on and then she just has to dance!!!I am here for you guys both in the challenge and personally if there is anything I can help with let me know! I have been overweight my entire life, and I mean 105 in Kindergarten, 250 by Junior High and 300s in High School and 400s in college. I am a survivor of sexual abuse from my father which is probably a large part of the weight issue but I have dealt with most of that baggage and now I am working on the rest of my life. Problem is....the habits I learned as a child are very hard to get rid of!! So ACCOUNTABILITY that is the next step in my growth (and reduction as the case may be.) My family needs me and while I feel much better at 339 than I did at 450....it is not enough...I need to lose more and this is the year! We will do it! 2005 is OUR year! My first goal is for us all to lose our weight and my second is to get all the points possible!!! Alright, I know I am excited. There are going to be times that I am not excited and I look to you guys to fire me back up OK??? Please? and I will always try to do the same for you! Not sure how long these posts can be....but this is probably long enough since you all probably think I am insane (ok, maybe I am but I am just sooooo excited.) Also, my kids seem to be destroying my kitchen and since cleaning up doesn't count as exercise, I better stop the destruction soon! BUT we do need a group name or color or whatever, and maybe someone that wants to start a daily or weekly Post??? I will be checking to see what others think! Again, I am SO happy to be on a team.....I think we are going to DO IT! ![]()

It is so nice to here from both of you, has anyone heard from Tatortotl, and aproudloser? I can't wait to get this organized and get going as a team. I to am hoping we can all hang in there together and lose the most weight I put down a 100 lbs but would really like to see onderland by the end of this year so that means I have to lose 119 lbs. I am going to try my hardest at this. I know we need a team captain to make sure everyone turns in there stats on time and holds us accountable.

Hello all
sorry this is so late but I coulnt get my butt outa bed this am. I was all cozy and hearing the rain on the roof, well I just wanted to stay in bed. LOL But enough of that. I am 34 single never been married. I have no kids except fur kids, I have 11 of those, working in a vet clinic will do that to ya. I have been over weight for about 16 years. I told everyone 12 but now that I think of it I was overweight in college. That is where it started. I was able to do what I wanted when I wanted for the first time in my life and I gained not the freshman 5 but the freshman 25. Yep I gained 25 pounds the first year of college. And then it just grew from there. I am here because I am tired of being fat and achy and tired all the time. I want to wear clothes that look good not that make me look like I'm wearing a tent. I am still young and should have lots of energy which I dont. I want this to be my year. All about me me me My biggest prob is that I work sometimes long hrs and I go to work at 6 am and I am not hungry at 6 am so I eaither go to Mc D's or dont eat at all. Then by the time I get off at 6 pm and feed all the "kids" who has time to figure out something for themselves. I vow this year to change all that. I will make up a weekly menu and stick to it. I will take breakfast with me if I am not hungry at that time. So far yesterday I ate very good, drank all my water, walked for 35 minutes at the park, and read the messaage, I also rented supersize me and will watch it today. And thats me in a nut shell. So what should our name be? And who will step up and be captain? ![]() Maria

I will step up and be team captain if that is okay with the team.
I am 32 years old, married, will be a year in Feb. This is my second marriage (I got married the first time at 19). I have mainly been overweight since high school. I thought I was very overweight in elementary school and jr. high but as I look back at pictures that was a perception problem, seeing myself as overweight when I really wasn't. That is one of my concerns when I lose weight, will I be able to see myself correctly or will I still see myself as overweight. Please share name choices for our team, I can't think of anything right now, but will try to get my brain thinking. We are going to do this, Lets go Team ![]()

Names? Hmmmm, I don't really have a favorite. "Lovely Losers" "Losers and Winners" "Lucky Losers""Healthy Friends" Or how bout "Team 2, Happy Not Blue!" "Team 2, Making Dreams come True" He he... Actually I am fine with anything but if you pick a color I don't want to be a boring color...
As far as captain goes, I am willing to do it if no one else has a burning desire. To be honest it holds me that much more accountable so it would probably be a good thing. BUT if someone else wants to do it I am a good cheerleader too! |

Tatortot here,I posted a little last night,I don't think our team was up yet.Well here it is,I'm Maria's mom.I'm 56 & short,4'11.I'm some what oner weight,no really
I've never been in challenge,this looks like a great one,& I know we are going to do Great.I have 3 grown chrildern.Four grandchrildren,& one on the way.I'm an encourager,church goer,so this is the place I want to be.Want to get to know each one of you better,we are in this for each other.I drank my water yesterday,took me all day but I got it drunk.Did good on my food,& exercise.I already feel this,we are going to do this.

Darn I though we were going to get to flip a quarter.
Mom and me vote for Lowcarbspleez as captain. I fried some mushrooms for breakfast this morning using atkins bake mix. It was ok. Guess I'm gonna have to expirement. Also drank 32 ounces of water already. Could someone please tell me how someone manages to down over 100 ounces of water or more a day. I struggle with 64 unless I'm working outside. |

Water is a challenge sometimes. I don't really drink anything else for the most part. But still I have trouble so I just down 8 to 16 ounces every hour or two. (Has to be room tempature or you get a headache!) Bottled water taste a lot better to me than tap but I can do either. Pace yourself, if you just drink 8 ounces once an hour for 13 hours.....There you have it! Personally I try to get mine in during the morning and early afternoon cuz I HATE to be up peeing all night! YOU CAN DO IT! Gulp Gulp Gulp Drink girl drink! |

I'll be team captain if it is okay with Nell. Water is a challenge for me to. I have gone from drinking 6 regular cans of soda a day to only water, decafe unsweetened iced tea and diet rite. I fill a 16oz glass with water and drink it down. Thats the only way I can get it down, drink it fast!!!!I'll check back later, I have to share the computer ![]() |

I like the name Team Meltdown too.
I had a good day today. I drank all my water, stayed under 20 carbs, and did my exercise. I think one of the worst things about trying to change your eating habits is that you are bombbarded with temptation no matter where you go. I was in the jello isle looking for sugar free jello and they had pudding there. CHOCOLATE pudding. Then I went to look at beef jerky and of course it is on the chip isle and they had cheetos there. ahhh Will it ever be that I can just look paste these things as someting I dont like or even see anymore say like brussel sprouts. |

Hi everyone, I vote for Lowcarbspleez for captain also,
I like Team Meltdown. Lowcarbs, can you let us know if we are going to have a new thread everyday or just keep coming here. I have finally got my 1 hour of exercise in (Richard Simmons Sweating to the oldies) and have drank 87.6 oz of water so far. I to will have problems drinking that much water everyday, this morning I drank 32 oz and then took off to go shopping at Shopko which is 40 minutes away from me, I had to pee so bad by the time I got there I didn't think I was going to make it to the bathroom . I am managing to stay right at 20 carbs, can anyone tell me how they stay under 20 I sometimes see people post at 10-15 per day, I can't without being hungry. Maybe once I am in ketosis that will make a differance.This is my first challenge also, and so far it is working, I was down a pound as of this morning. I am terrible about staying off the scale I usually check it every morning I guess it makes me feel as though I am not gaining this way. My first goal is to be 277 by May 1st. Enough about me, it was nice to finally meat our whole team My goals for the team are to drink at least 101 OZ of water per day so I can make the 85 points that way keep my carbs at or lower then 20 so I can meet my 10 lbs per month goal. exercise 5 times per week 60 minutes per day. So I can hit 80 point mark. How about all of you what are your goals for us? It would be fun to know so we can keep on coaching each other and help each other to get there every week. Maria, I look at those things not as something I don't like, but something that I don't eat.
Team vote: do you want a daily thread or weekly thread. Somebody else can start the new one if they are on first and there is not a new one. I think there are some time differences between some of us. I am on the east coast. my goals for the challenge are to drink at least 101 oz of water this month, since I have not been drinking water. I will increase that amount in February. Exercise 60 minutes 6 days a week. Thanks everybody for voting me team captain. I agree with the one thread a week. Some days I am so busy that I don't have much time to get on....with one thread I can go back and read other posts for days I may have missed and respond.
Team MeltDown it is, LowCarbsPleez our captain and away we GO! Oh, I have also read the post and watched the SuperSize me video. I am sure over the month I will have several opportunities to go to a donut shop. Now I just have to keep up the exercise and water consumption! |

Team Meltdown it is then,great.I vote for one time a week two. You are going to be a great leader Low Carbs pleez.I'm doing pretty good,also finished my water.I think I would drink more water if I did'nt drink so many D.R.C.Rite. Did ok. on my carbs,walked 35 min. today.I was telling my Dd today as we walked,that I am going to do some kind of exersize everyday. I'll be trying to go to Curves every other day.I love walking in the early morning,everything is fresh then.Bye for now.

Thank You. I have one more glass of water to go, that is for my bedtime meds!!!! I think that will be 104 oz. Guess what I didn't even have one diet rite today Yesterday I only had one. I am pleasantly surprised with myself. |

TMTL (Too Much Too Long) is working on getting us our own spot on the bb. It will probably be like the twelve week challenge on top of the century club board. I'll keep you posted of any updates I get on that. |

Hello Team MeltDown,
I have a very busy day today. I have to prepare food for my husband for today (he is on the same plan as me, but only has a little bit of weight to lose) because I won't be home much today. I work in a school cafeteria. Mainly in the snack room, unless someone is absent. I didn't eat any of the snacks before, so I don't see this as a problem. Then tonight I have a dinner at a buffet with the ladies from church. My friend has been there before and tells me there are some good low carb options on the buffet I hope everyone has a great lowcarb day and I will check in off and on today. |

Hi everyone, I have got my 60 minutes of exercise in and on my way with my water, I have two more days off of work I go back Wed. so I won't be able to get my full workout in until after 3:00 Central time which means you probably won't here from me until about 7:00 PM on most nights unless I can sneak in at Lunch time at work. between the last two days I have drank 257 OZ of water total so far, that is well above my 101 per day, I hope I can keep that up when I go back to work. So far I am down 5 lbs as of this morning that makes me feel good I have also made up a bunch of LC food for the rest of the week so I should be set for any temptations that come my way. I will be busy doing some filing and running around today so I will check in later. GO TEAM MELTDOWN < |
