Okay, well I am still really new to this message board so I hope I'm doing this right.... I want to be a part of the biggest loser group because I am dedicated to losing weight. I have made up my mind and I'm gonna stick with it. I will also be really honest with my stats, etc....because I am doing this for ME. What is your gender? Female What is your current weight? 290 Height? 5'10" What is your ideal weight? 165-180 How much do you expect to lose in 2005 (minimum)? 100 Current waist size? 46" Hips? 53" Age: 24 Carbs : 20 Umm....I think that was all you asked for. It is a clean slate and the old life of last year is gone and I will be thinking right , self talking right and doing the necessary exercises to reflect the new me inside and out. I am so excited about this challenge!!!! The reason I want to do this is that first of all, I love The Biggest Loser and would love to be on it but I couldn't leave my baby that long. The other reason is that I just really need support. My husband is a wonderful man, but just doesn't know how to support me and after so many failed attempts at weightloss, is probably tired of trying. I am very competitive, but have no one in my "real life" to compete with. I also like the idea of having team members for daily support and ideas. Why I want to be part of this challenge: Losing weight is difficult ... this challenge seems to be a way to make it more managable. I'm interested in meeting others who have a lot to lose too. I think that the group mentality and accountablity will help me keep my focus beyond the first few weeks. I don't have any health issues right now and I want to keep it that way. I also feel that my weight has prevented me from doing some things that I've wanted to try so it's time for it to GO! I don't have a preference for a team. Thanks so much for getting us started! I was just about to PM everybody when I saw your post and link! It looks like we have a great, motivated team and I'm excited to be working with all of you. So far the only extra points I've earned is by reading the article posted by NoBimbo. I'm signing up for Netflicks this week and I'll be ordering Supersize Me. I also told hubby we had to visit Dairy Queen this month and I that I had to bake something for him to take to work. Needless to say, he already thinks this challenge thing is improving HIS life! Ha Ha. I've also told DH that I will need 1 hour a day to myself to workout, and that he will be on babysitting duty. He's agreed, but I may end up doing step aerobics with my baby strapped in the Snuggly. One way or another I'm getting all my workouts in!I re-inducted last week before I knew about this challenge and have taken off 7lbs in water weight. Part of me wishes I would have waited for the challenge. Well, goodluck and I'll be checking back in the morning!

I hope your all psyched and ready to go today. I know I am! My goals for the day are to stick as close to a KISS type eating as possible, drink at least 3 qts of water and walk 3 miles. I would love it if we could post our daily menus. It would help keep us accountable and give our teammates meal ideas on those "don't know what to eat" days. My goals today are to stay away from people who are still eating treats from the holiday. Today I have to work so won't be able to post much, I have 2 boys that keep me busy all week and then I work each Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun. I have noticed that I am better at eating on plan the days that I work because I can be more diligent on those days. Anyway, I look forward to knowing you all better and lets be the biggest losers of 2005!! ![]()

Glad to see part of our team checking in ... hope to see the rest today. I am excited to meet all of you too!
Lavigne ... I do appreciate knowing about your schedule. I am a teacher and things get a little crazy for me during the week. I'll post as often as I can, but I am more likely to say more on the weekends. I read the post by NoBimbo - neat way to get started. I will do the donut challege (using Krispy Kreme) because I don't care for their donuts. If it were a bagel shop ... eek! That would be harder. I haven't rented Supersize Me yet but I will next weekend. I'm a little movie-d out from the holidays. Mia ... posting meals is fine. Is anyone else keeping a journal? So Far So Good Today. I didn't eat KISS style, definitely Atkins though and way under 20 carbs.
So far I've had: - 4 Ham n Cheese Roll Ups - 2 Hamburger Patties with Cheese, mayo and pickles. - 2 qts of Water. I can't believe I haven't had any veggies today! I may squeeze in a salad with my last quart of water later this evening. I haven't been able to think of any names yet. I'll try to work on that tonight. Once the other ladies check in we can choose a team captain. I'm really hoping for a very active and excited team. I want us to win this challenge! I hope that we can really push each other to excel! I need a good kick in the pants on a regular basis. I really want a "tough love" team. I'd like to know what the rest of you have for expectations as well. A little about me so we can get to know each other: I'm 28, married and I have an almost 5 month old daughter. She's absolute perfection in every way I've been on and off Atkins so many times I can't even count them and I have to get this weight off for health reasons and just so I can play with my daughter and husband. Just so I can have a normal life!I need accountability, I need to know others are counting on my success and I need to do this thing once and for all!!!! This is our year ladies! |

Mia ... You seem very energetic and motivated. I think you'd make a good Team Captain! I hope the other ladies check in soon! I'm anxious to get our team stuff started.
I did pretty good today too ... B: 2 scrambled eggs and 3 strips of turkey bacon L: bowl of broccoli cheddar soup D: salad and a rotisserie chicken drumstick I put down a goal of 150 oz of water / day ... boy was that ambitious! I am just barely able to get in 100 oz a day! Hopefully I will be drinking more as we progress. Your little girl sounds adorable. Glad to get some info on you. I am single and without children. I am 36 and a middle school teacher. I've always been a little heavy, but stayed active so it didn't bother me. I just think it's time to get it off and keep it off. I've tried Atkins before too ... lost 35 lbs and got scared about the loss so I jumped off the wagon. Can you believe that? I put it all back on plus some, but I think I dealt with the fear so I should be good to go! Muse |

Muse sounds like you had a great day!
I'm not sure about me for team captain. I was really hoping to have someone else to keep my booty in gear, but if no one else wants to do it I'm willing to try. Lavigne, Goodluck and check in as often as you can. We'll be here to help you through your off days. You're right, it is much easier to stay on plan when you are working and not at home. I'm a SAHM so my biggest problem is staying out of the kitchen! I'm not sure where the other ladies are. I know Joyful PMed me and said she hoped we'd be teamed together so I hope she checks in soon. I'll email Sweets and see how long she wants us to wait before adding teammates. |

Hello my fellow team members!!!
Hey guys,
Sorry it took me so long to check in. I was on Saturday night but they weren't posted yet and then Sunday was my crazy day!!! Things are going super for me!!! I got on the scale this morning and realized that I'd already lost six pounds in the last three days!!! YEAH BABY, WE ARE SO GONNA KICK BUTT!!!...I tend to get a little competitive! Ok, my strategy is to FORCE breakfast down my throat every morning (I have previously fallen into the habit of not eating enough....), I got six miles in between Saturday and Sunday...I'm gonna try to keep that average (I'm getting a new pedometer today), and I would like to announce that I have been drinking so much water that I had a dream the other night that I was drowning (no lie, I really did!!). What do you gals think about getting to know each other a little better? Maybe some bio info, more info on what we each personally struggle with, so that we can have a better 'team' mentality as well as hold each other accountalbe? I'll post info on me here in a little bit. Stay excited, play to win, and remember that you are SO WORTH IT!!!!

Hey my little Chinchillas (I just say things...)
Ok, well I decided to go ahead and post a little about myself...mainly because I'm excited!! My name is Michelle, I am 24 years old. I am formerly from Oklahoma/Texas but I moved up here to PA three years ago to work for a non-profit organization. I love my work because I enjoy working with people. During the week I am really easy to contant cause I'm in front of this computer for work all day. I am off on Wednesdays but will still be checking in several times a day then as well. Ummmm.....what else? I'm single, yet recently went down to Texas to visit my best friend and he shared his feelings for me (we've been best friends since 9th grade and he's been trying to convince me for the last five years that we are 'meant for each other'). I never could agree with him..and it finally hit him that the reason I couldn't had nothing to do with him....it was because I was not comfortable with my body and thus pushed relationships away.... it was my problem, not everyone elses.(wow, I sound like Dr. Phil!!!)...but now that I have realized that...I am so excited about what lies ahead for me!!!!!....and I am DETERMINED not to let my weight steal one ounce of my joy- I have been self-conscious for too long!!! (I know that was a long story...but it helps explain my situation!!). So....wow....that's me. Seems to me that I am the grandma of the group! I am 52 years old,MARRIED 27 years and have been on Atkins ,in 99 I got on the WOE and lost down to goal and wore a size 2! Sadly my mom passed away that Christmas and I greived so much that I ate my way back up to 200+lbs. I have been on and off of this WOE but never have had the sucess or stuck to it long enought to relose my weight. The last time I went to the DRS. She told me she wanted me to go on Atkins cause I have a fatty liver.( not Good) Well my breakfast is going to be : EggBeaters small piece of smoked sausage Lunch: country pork splits . carb options BBQsauce Dinner : to be announced , ( I have to go to the grocery) The harderst part for me is the water drinking and exercise.But a girls got to do what a girls got to do! ![]()

Hey Ladies!!! It's a great Big Loser of a day! (cheesy, I know
)I vote Shell for Team Captain also, I like your energy girl! Joyful, so glad to see you! Yay, we're teammates! So far so good today. I really need to be going through my water faster though. I also haven't worked out yet because I had to take Emma (my baby) to the doctor this morning. I'll get DH to watch her this evening though so I can walk. I'm shooting for 3 miles. I'm really gonna shoot for the top amount of points in water and exercise each day. Water has always been a challenge for me, but it's getting easier. Exercise is a challenge because Emma is still too small to occupy herself for long so it's hard to get 45 minutes to myself. I did strap her in the Snugi last night and walked in front of the TV and she seemed content. It's harder for me, but I guess that's a good thing! Today I've only eaten 2 Ham and Cheese Roll Ups so far. Dinner will be Grilled Chops & a Salad I can tell I'm gonna need something sweet, so I'm going to make some hot English Toffee Tea w/ cream and splenda. Goodluck and I'll check back later! |

Hey Ladies,
Well we all made it! Team Twelve is ready to Rock!! (okay, I pretty much plan on being cheesy...cause it makes me laugh and I have more fun!!) Nice to meet you Joyful. I am sincerely excited about getting to know all of you this year. This is going to be a great year. This year we will be proud of ourselves. This year we will stop making excuses and start taking action for our health- (wow, now I sound like Richard Simmons!!) 1. As far as being team captain...I'm up for it. I'll do whatever I need to do. Muse has put alot of work into things so I would like to hear her vote and wether or not she would like to be captain...I'm cool with whatever. 2. We need a team name. I suggest we get moving and think of one. How about we make the decision that by tomorrow morning we will have a name? Mia and Joyful you wanna head up this decision? Muse and I will add our 2 cents in, make sure we have no problem with the name and then we will be ready to get all official. I think we need to get the requested info into Shawn and Sweets soon. Glad to see that everyone's checked in! Joyful ... you're welcome for the post. I was worried you wouldn't find it because it got moved after I created the link.
Shell...I would be more than happy to elect you leader! I was impatient to get things going to I got this thread started. I have a few projects in the fire right now and wouldn't be able to be a good leader. I will help out any way I can though! Would you be so kind as to notify Sweets and TMTL that we've all checked in? Let's work on a name ... we're going to live with it for a whole year. Here are some off the top of my head .... Okay ladies,
I accept the Team Captain position....I'll work hard on being certain everyone stays updated on information. Here are the things that we need to be thinking about right now: 1. We need to come up with a team name 2. Water intake....we all need to work on this. Everyone needs to work their way up the chart!! 3. Have we all kicked the caffiene addiction? Does anyone need support in working through this? 4. The Dunkin Donuts/ Krispy Kreme challenge- we have to go two times in the week of January. Is everyone in on this one? 5. The movie Supersize Me- Do we have committments from everyone to watch this? 6. I hope you all already read the link that was posted for extra points in Shawns rules page. If not, don't forget...it's short and inspiring. Ok, I just wanted to remind everyone of these things. Tommorrow I am going to re-read all the rules and posts and make sure that we have all the details covered. Did pretty well today. I'm only at 64oz of water though. I'm gonna try to get a few more cups in before bed. I've decided that tomorrow I am putting myself on a new schedule. I need to be much more organized about my weightloss efforts and exercise. I'm also going to do some cooking ahead tomorrow. I've been snacking my way through the day with no real meals.
