Well, I'm headed to bed, but wanted to check in one last time before I do.
Connie, the SF Honey is pure Maltitol It tastes exactly like honey though. You eat relatively little of the maltitol by rolling your chicken in the honey mustard sauce, but I also use it as a dipping sauce on the side. Yummy!I can't image 8-9" of snow! We're lucky to get an inch a year here in Georgia. Well, see ya'll tomorrow |

hey all!
I think by the time all was said and done, we ended up with a foot of new snow this weekend. All I can say is that it's really pretty. It was inconvenient on Saturday, but everything's cleared and we're back to normal today.
I wanted to put a question out there about supplementation. Does anyone here take supplements? If so, what kind? I take a high quality multivitamin. I can't say enough about flax products. I try to get them in daily (muffin, ground flax in my yogurt, flax cereal, etc). I like an oil called Udo's Choice which balances flax with other types of oil for a burst of Omegas 3, 6, and 9. (This is better than flax alone). |

Hey there,
Well currently the only supplements I take are multi-vitamins. I bought one that is supposed to be made especially for low-carb eating so it has more fiber in it. I used to take a green tea supplement because green tea is so good for your system...but I haven't been taking that. I need to get out my DADR book and see what the supplements they reccomend are....I think one of them is lycopene? I'm gonna check into that today. My plan is to actually leave work on time and hit the grocery store and then try out my new weight training video. here's my intake so far 2 pieces of bacon, one piece of sausage- b grilled chicken with alfredo sause- lunch Dinner....I'm not sure yet. I need to get some veggies in so i might do a salad with chicken. I plan on making a batch of that egg drop soup tonight to bring with me tomorrow. Ok, well sounds like everyone is on track. The scale hasn't moved much for me in the past two days, but I can defintely tell the difference!! I went to put my hands on my hips yesterday, and it was like "whoa, I have a lot less hips!!!' So....that really encouraged me! Shell

well, I made egg drop soup tonight...it's great!! I didn't really eat it..just tasted it and packed it away for tomorrow. I did make a use chicken ( cheat and buy the already cooked and chopped kind!) and soy sauce, onions, and flax seeds to make kinda a mock sesame chicken....I liked it even better!! I will def. be making that again!!
Okay, well I'm gonna go exercise now then have some tea and hit the sack!! I'm also gonna read about those supplements. I am really, truly liking this way of life! night!! |

Hey All!
Let me tell you about Udo's Choice Oil. No, you cannot fry with it. It is very delicate. It cannot be cooked or microwaved or it destroys the healthy components. Continue to use any nut oil or canola oil for cooking.
I add Udo's to my food after it is done. Sometimes I drizzle it on veggies in place of butter. Sometimes I add some to my bowl of soup after it has cooked. I stir it in my yogurt along with the flavoring. I add it to my salad and dressing. It has a nutty flavor. It can easily be mixed into protein drinks. You can buy it at any health store in the refrigerated section. You can also buy it from Netrition (do a search for Udo's). There is a web site he created with information on why this product is good for you. udoerasmus.com Wooo - hooo Shell! Way to go on the slimmer hips! I haven't noticed a loss of weight bodywise, but I was on the phone with my girlfriend and was messing with my watch. I can close it 2 more holes without squeezing my arm! Neveragain ... glad you tried the soup. It's very easy and quick. You can make it whenever you like. Mmmm ... I need to make some more soup. Something just tastes expecially good about hot soup on a cold day. Muse |

Okay over here. Just not been checking in much. I am in the mist of my busy season--preparing tax returns.
My dd and I have already made plans on making our last trip to DD tomorrow. So all my extras are in. Has anyone heard what they are planning for February yet? Keep up the good work teammates. Laura |

Well did the Krispy Kreme thing.Hey ya'll !Don't you think I ought to get extra points for going to the RoadHouse Grill and passing up those wonderful yeast rolls and cinnamon butter?? Man was that a test for me!!
I guess knowing that I have the monthly weigh in just days a way definitely was a deterrent LOL Hope every one is doing well , I know I have made great strides in meeting the requirments this month but, I know I could have done much more in the area of exercise and water drinking . That will be what I will need to work on more but, over all I am satisfied with what I accomplished so far. We all should be proud of the fact that we are still here and hanging in there,on some teams they have team members that already quit or have gone to individual status. All for one and one for all!! Go Team 12!!! |

Hey ladies,
We need to start formulating a plan for February. We need to think about bumping up both our water intake and our exercising. If we do 33min. a day we can significantly bump up our points....and hit about mid-way the possible points for exercising. What do you guys think about that? Also, I think we need to get more detailed about our stats when posting. I would like to know the amount of water that everyone is taking in. Let me know of any goals that you would like to accomplish in February and maybe we can set them for our team. Thanks! Shell |

almost post time
Hey Gals,
Here is the format that we need to send into Wendy. It would help me if you could total up your points and PM it to me in this format. Also just so we can encourage each other lets' post the total pounds and inches that we lost in Jan. and what our total points were. Exercise points: Weight loss points: Water intake points: Inches lost points: Deduct 1 point for every can of diet pop that is not made with the Splenda Sweetner. Deduct 1 point for every 12oz. you drink that is not caffeine free. Deduct 30 points for going over YOUR monthly carb intake goal at all! Deduct 100 points for NOT reporting stats on the 15th and by last day of month. Add 20 points if you go to Dunkin Donuts (or comparable) 2 TIMES during January. Deduct 75 points if you consumed any sweets at all during your visit! Add 25 points if you watch the movie Super Size Me by the end of January. Add 15 points if you read this very insightful link. TOTAL POINTS ON JANUARY 31ST (OR BEFORE): _______ |

Doing really well of late here. I agree with joyful, we need to be a team. We need to think like the Patriots, we are not individual but a team.
I agree we need a team strategy and checking in with our daily water intake and exercise. ![]() |

Just a "heads up" ladies ....
I was a lot more diligent about recording my totals on the table every day this time. BOY, does it make a difference!
Make sure that each and every day you register your totals because my point values were nearly 20 times higher by registering on the table every day. I think our points were CONSIDERABLY underestimated for the checkin on the 15th. I expect that our values will more fairly represent the progress we've made this time. Muse |

Never A Gain
Hey,
I'm sorry that my points were confusing. I simply attached the points from the table that Sweets provided. There is a line that says "report these results on the 15th" and another that says "report these results on the last of the month. I am simply forwarding the information that Sweets told me to forward. It's exactly the same thing I did on the 15th. Since it is before 9, I will contact Sweets to find out if she wants the information in a different format. I thought I was doing it right! YIKES! I will post here again once I hear from her. Are we going to start a new thread for February? |

Muse,
I talked to Wendy about your stats...she didn't understand them either. Maybe when you sent them to me the numbers got distorted. Just go back and add your points up. Use the 'Biggest Lose Rules' page and go by that to add them up (the one we all signed up to in the beginning) Then, please send them to both me and Sweets. Also, Sweets emailed me and said she wants our weights and inches as well. I had Genielady's and mine....I need Joyfuls and Muse's. Send those to me as soon as possible. She had not specified that she needed those also...and not just the points. Don't worry we are not losing any points!! She understands that we did send them in on time and just had some confusion!! Ok Ladies, Here are the additional challenges that Shawn posted for February. ALSO- I want a CONFIRMATION post from each of you posted saying that you are sticking with this and that you are dedicated to doing all that you can in February. I think this will help us boost our moral and know where everyone stands.
Thanks, Shell Make a progression model of yourself using the following link. Begin with your current weight and allow the pictures to progress to your “goal weight”. I suggest creating about ten pictures (models) that show a gradual decrease in weight. This will be a visual reminder of what path you are following. Do this by February 10th, and add 100 points. If you chose NOT to do this, deduct no points, and add no points. For those of you who may not be able to create a model due to your current weight, create a progression model within the weight limit allowed by the site – to your goal weight. http://www.myvirtualmodel.com/mvmhome/jsp/home.jsp? Carb goal. This is different than January’s carb intake rules. For FEBRUARY, you create a DAILY carb intake goal that you may NOT exceed. For example, Floyd Pink has a daily carb intake goal of 20 grams and he only eats 14 for the day. The following day, he is NOT allowed to eat 26 but instead, only his daily maximum carb intake goal of 20. IF his number (20) is exceeded by ANY amount, you must do any one of the following “penances”: · Do 50 pushups that will NOT count towards your exercise for the day. –or- · Listen to a song called “I’m Not Okay” by a band called “My Chemical Romance”. This sort of describes how carbs make you feel. Pretty easy but definetly a good reminder. A fun way of reminding yourself of evil carbs! There are many music websites on the internet. You have a choice this way…. Bottom line is - If you don't play the card, you won't get burned. I.E. stay at or under your daily carb goal. If you DO go over your daily carb goal and do either "penance", or simply stay under your daily carb goal, add 55 points. Increased exercise goal: Increase your exercise amount from January’s amount by at LEAST 10% and add 40 points. For example, Dink Winkerson did 1000 minutes of exercise for January. In order to get these points, Dink would need to do at least 1100 for the points – not to mention that he may have been able to get himself into the higher exercise points bracket. |
